Samsung Galaxy Watch4 Classic renders leaked, likely to arrive in three sizes

Earlier this week, Samsung announced the One UI Watch that will be made available for the first time on the company’s forthcoming smartwatch. Reports have claimed that Samsung may hold an unveiling event in August to announce the Galaxy Watch4 (previously called Galaxy Watch4 Active) smartwatch. Fresh information suggests that the other smartwatch that will be debuting alongside it will be called the Galaxy Watch4 Classic. AndroidHeadlines has claimed that it will be coming in as many as three sizes. The publication has also shared the leaked press renders of the Watch4 Classic.

The Galaxy Watch4 Classic is expected to arrive in three variants such as 42mm, 44mm, and 46mm, and it will be arriving in three colors such as white, black, and gray. It is speculated that all three variants will be available in stainless steel or aluminum.

Also, the publication claims that users will be able to use any 20mm strap with the Galaxy Watch4 Classic. The retail package of the device will include S/M and M/L silicone bands to suit different wrist sizes. It is likely that the company may separately sell leather or metal bands for the Watch4 Classic.

The display of the Watch4 Classic with a stainless-steel body will be shielded by Gorilla Glass DX, where the one with aluminum chassis will be equipped with Gorilla Glass DX+ for better resistance against scratches. The leaked renders show that the Watch4 Classic will be a 5ATM and MIL-STD-810G rated device. Readers can checkout more renders of the smartwatch by visiting AndroidHeadlines.

Leaked information that appeared last month claimed that the Galaxy Watch4 and Watch4 Classic will debut on Aug. 3. The same Unpacked event may see the arrival of the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Galaxy Z Flip3 5G.

realme X2 Pro finally bags Android 11 (realme UI 2.0) stable update

The realme X2 Pro was the brand’s first-ever flagship smartphone. It was released in the last quarter of 2019 with ColorOS 6.x based on Android Pie. The device was later updated to realme UI based on Android 10. Now, it has finally started receiving the much-awaited Android 11 (realme UI 2.0) update.

realme X2 Pro realme UI 2.0 Android 11 Stable Update

The realme UI 2.0 is based on ColorOS 11. It was unveiled a few days after the announcement of OPPO’s Android 11-based mobile operating system in September. However, realme X2 Pro is receiving the stable update of this software over nine months later.

Handset maker realme opened realme UI 2.0 Early Acess registrations for the realme X2 Pro at the end of December. Therefore, it took the brand six months to deliver the Android 11 stable update. The duration between the initial beta release and the final stable release is way too long for any brand.

Anyway, the latest system update for the realme X2 Pro arrives with firmware version RMX1931_11_F.11. Users need to be on firmware version RMX1931EX_11.C.37 or RMX1931EX_11.C.38 to receive this update.

The software build is being rolled out in batches. Hence, it may take some time to reach every unit. Lastly, unsatisfied users can roll back to Android 10 (realme UI). But this process will wipe their phone’s internal storage.

Xiaomi Mi 6 2021 Edition could be in the works

The Mi 6 was Xiaomi’s flagship smartphone of 2017. It has been four years since its release. The handset may make a comeback this year just like the recently launched Redmi Note 8 2021 Edition.

Xiaomi Mi 6 Featured A
Xiaomi Mi 6

Earlier last month, Xiaomi founder and CEO Lei Jun revealed that there are still more than 2 million Mi 6 users. A few days later, a netizen on Weibo asked the company founder to release a new compact smartphone with a Mi 6-like design.

As per this person, the Mi 11 Lite Lite 5G (aka Mi 11 Youth Edition) is still a big device despite its minimal thickness. Therefore, he is looking for an even smaller handset. Lei Jun simply replied ‘Received’ (read feedback received) to this netizen’s comment.

On the same day, Xiaomiui came across a new Xiaomi device codenamed ‘mercury’. This mysterious phone will feature a 120Hz display, 12MP pixel binning main camera, ultra-wide camera, and 5x telephoto camera.

As per Xiaomiui (via MySmartPrice), this phone could go official as Mi 6 2021 Edition. Because Xiaomi released a limited edition Mercury Silver color variant of the Mi 6. This and other links suggest the upcoming Xiaomi ‘mecury’ to be Mi 6 2021 Edition.

Unfortunately, the claim cannot be verified at the moment. Anyway, we expect to learn more about this smartphone in the coming days. Perhaps, it could be indeed the rumored Mi 6 2021 Edition or something else altogether.

OnePlus 6/6T OxygenOS 11 Open Beta once again confirmed to release by late August

OnePlus 6T

According to a report by PiunikaWeb, OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T users are actively enquiring the brand regarding the Android 11-based OxygenOS 11 update for their smartphones on social media.

The official OnePlus Support Twitter account recently replied to one of these queries. As per that tweet, the company will be rolling out the Android 11 (OxygenOS 11) Open Beta update for the OnePlus 6 and the OnePlus 6T at the end of August. This goes in line with a previous timeline provided by the brand.

This means the Android 11 update for the OnePlus 6/6T is not delayed. But anyway, the update will be still arriving a year after Google unveiled Android 11 last year.

Above all, the stipulated timeline is only for beta builds. Hence, the final stable build may take more time depending on bugs. In a nutshell, we can expect the update to reach every unit by the end of this year.

With OnePlus’ merger with OPPO, the brand is anticipated to improve its software support. Hence, the current-gen OnePlus branded smartphones may not face slower update rollout in the future.

Oppo

It was an attempt from the iPhone maker to “revolutionize” the credit card market and now, it seems that the Chinese tech giant might aim to follow suit. As per a recent filing on a Chinese Trademark portal, the brand has filed for the OPPO Card under International classification – 9, which has an application number 57108414.

Oppo

Notably, another Chinese company had also launched its own version of the Apple Card. Back in 2020, the Huawei Card was unveiled, meanwhile, Google is also rumored to be working on a similar product. So, it would arrive as no surprise if Oppo is actually working on its own card as well. Although, it is still too early to tell so stay tuned for more, as we will be providing updates when additional information is available regarding this matter.

Xiaomi may be working on a rollable smartphone with dual side extending display

A new patent has revealed that Xiaomi might be working on a unique new smartphone. The device in the patent is has a rollable display, with the screen extending from either side of the handset.

Xiaomi

According to a PhoneArena report, the patented device features a display that rolls out from both the left and right sides. In other words, the screen of the smartphone extended to become larger. This is unlike a foldable handset, which expands its display area by unfolding and becomes more portable when in its folded state. Looking at the patent images, the display can be seen rolled out from either side, making the display larger. We have previously covered another rollable device patent from the company, which you can check out as well.

This also has the device resemble a tablet and could even offer additional functionality as well. Notably, the extending display could even change the device’s aspect ratios, which might also make the movie or video watching experience from the device better. In its extended state, the rolled out display’s shape is a bit similar to a square, while in its compact form it resembles a regular modern smartphone. Looking at the device from the rear, it appears to have a design similar to the Chinese tech giant’s Mi MIX Alpha Concept smartphone.

Xiaomi

It has a vertically stacked dual camera module on the middle of its back panel, meanwhile, the other portions of the rear extend out from the sides. The Xiaomi patent also highlights the mechanism through which the device rolls out. Similarly, the company’s rival smartphone making brand had also unveiled the Oppo X 2021, which was also a concept device but the world’s first smartphone with a rollable extending display. So, Xiaomi could also be working on its own iteration of the same or might just be covering all bases.

According to a report by Maeil Economic Daily (via FrontTron), the Galaxy S21 FE will be released in Q4 2021. The handset was supposed to launch in August. The reason for the delay is none other than the global semiconductor shortage.

Samsung is facing difficulties in procuring the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset for the successor of Galaxy S20 FE. Hence, the older report stated that the smartphone will be only launching in the US and Europe.

But now, the latest report says that the South Korean tech giant will be using its in-house Exynos 2100 SoC alongside the Snapdragon 888 to compensate for the shortage.

There are some reports which claim that the Galaxy F22 will be a rebadged version of the Galaxy A22, which recently went official in India. It remains to be seen whether there are any differences between the two devices.

Samsung Galaxy F22 listing on Flipkart reveals that the smartphone will feature a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. Previous leaks have revealed that the phone could have HD+ screen resolution (1339 x 720 pixels).

On the back, the phone will feature a quad-camera setup consisting of a 48-megapixel primary camera sensor along with an 8-megapixel secondary sensor, and two 2-megapixel sensors for depth sensing and macro photography.

The phone with model number SM-E225F recently appeared in the database of the Google Play Console. It is likely to come powered by the MediaTek Helio G80 chipset along with 4GB RAM. The smartphone will run the Android 11 operating system with the company’s own One UI 3.0 on top.

So far, Samsung has launched Galaxy F62, F12, and F02s smartphones this year and this will be yet another F-series phone in the market. With this lineup of budget phones, the South Korean giant aims to take on the likes of Xiaomi, Redmi, and Realme.
