Apple announced iPhone 12 series consisting of four models namely iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max respectively. Like previous years, the company discontinued last year’s high-end Pro models (iPhone 11 Pro & iPhone 11 Pro Max) replacing them with this year’s models in most of the regions. For two years in a row, even India has been added in the list of those countries
When Apple announced iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max in 2018, it discontinued iPhone X in many countries, however, India was not one of them. But when the Cupertino-based tech giant unveiled iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone Pro Max in 2019, it discontinued its predecessors in the country.
Similarly, in 2020, the company has discontinued last year’s iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max after the announcement of iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max. However, the cheaper iPhone 11 and iPhone XR will be still available for purchase from all the official channels.
That said, although iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max has been removed from Apple online store in India, interested customers can still buy it from other resellers at discounted price ahead of Diwali festive season till stock lasts.

ZMI has launched the No. 20 Mobile Power bank, a successor to the ZMI No. 10 Mobile power bank which was launched towards the end of 2016. In August this year, ZMI released a second-gen No. 10 power bank with a 45W power rating. ZMI No. 20 Power bank arrives with a bumped up power rating of 65W which is suitable for charging notebook PCs.
The No. 20 mobile power bank comes with a large capacity of 25,000mAh and supports 120W output. This makes the power bank the only one globally which supports 120W fast charge rating. Earlier today (15th October 2020), ZMI launched its first series of truly wireless earbuds during its launch conference. The launch included the Purpods and Purpods Pro, both of which are available for lucrative prices.
Between the two, the ZMI Purpods Pro is the higher end variant and features the popular active noise cancelation feature that many expensive earbuds generally feature like the AirPods Pro. The earbuds feature dual ANC that offers up to 35dB noise reduction that enables users to better block the surrounding sound in their environment. This function is supplemented by three microphones, which also makes calls more clearer.
Furthermore, the new earbuds also use EQsmart adaptive technology that adjusts the volume according to the sound levels in the users’ surroundings. It even has a low latency mode for mobile gamers. With noise reduction on, the battery on the Purpods Pro lasts up to 8 hours and 10 hours with the feature turned off. Through its charging case, the maximum battery life is about 32 hours, and it also supports fast charging with up to 50 percent of the charge being delivered in just a 15 minute top up.
For controls, the Purpods Pro sports pressure sensitive buttons that enable its various functions. The hearables support Bluetooth 5.2, alongside wireless charging, has IPX4 waterproof rating, and also arrives with the XiaoAI voice assistant built in for voice controls. The most notable difference between the Purpods Pro and the base variant is the lack of active noise cancelation on the latter. The Pro variant is priced at 399 Yuan (roughly 60 US Dollars), while the base Purpods are priced at 199 Yuan (roughly 30 US Dollars).
According to the popular Chinese benchmarking platform AnTuTu, the newly launched iPhone 12 Pro is the first-ever iPhone to feature 6GB RAM. On the other hand, the regular iPhone 12 comes with 4GB RAM. Although the company has yet to come across any benchmark test of iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPhone 12 Mini, it does speculate them to have the same 6GB RAM and 4GB RAM as their counterparts.
On the other hand, MacRumors has confirmed that indeed both iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max feature 6GB RAM while iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini sport 4GB RAM. The publication has discovered this information from plist files in Xcode 12.1 beta.
That means unlike last year, the 2020 iPhone Pro models come with more RAM than the standard versions. In case you are not aware of, the entire 2019 iPhone 11 lineup – iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max feature only 4GB RAM.
The OnePlus 8T has just recently been announced and is the company’s latest flagship model. However, the company is known to offer its flagships in special editions, with the new device arriving in a Cyberpunk 2077 Limited Edition variant.
OnePlus has partnered up with CD Projekt Red, the game studio behind the highly anticipated upcoming title, Cyberpunk 2077. Unfortunately, the company has only revealed a small teaser trailer for the special limited edition OnePlus 8T smartphone, and we have no idea what the device will actually look like at the moment. However, considering various other Cyberpunk 2077 themed product launches, we can expect yellow hues with angular designs and other bright neon colors to go along with the video game’s futuristic aesthetic.
Looking at the teaser trailer, we only see the front of the device as it is seen receiving a call. So, we can also expect to see a small easter egg within the game regarding the device. But, that is just speculation, so take it with a pinch of salt. Notably, the device will be available for pre-orders starting from 4th November 2020, just two weeks prior to Cyberpunk 2077’s launch date. The game is arriving on all major platforms like Xbox, Playstation, and PC and has already garnered a huge amount of hype.
Xiaomi is planning on building a new next generation intelligent factory. This factory will be completely unmanned and automated and will be tasked with producing over 10 million smartphones every year.
Xiaomi Smart Factory in Yizhuang, Beijing
According to a ChinaDailyreport, the move from the Chinese tech giant arrives as it further invests in the high end market and is “honing” its skills in smart manufacturing. Lei Jun, the CEO and Founder of the company stated that the new target has been fixed after Xiaomi’s first smart factory completed six months of operations in Yizhuang, Beijing. It is spread over 1,600 square meters, with the facility housing an autonomous production line that can produce over 1 million premium smartphones every year.
Unfortunately, the senior executive refrained from divulging the location for the new factory. According to Lei Jun, “With China facing a complicated international business environment, smart manufacturing is the way forward for enterprises. Through independent innovation, Xiaomi hopes to popularize industrial robots and reduce manufacturing costs to one-tenth of the present level.” To reach this goal, the company is also heavily investing in research and development of its core technologies and has even set up an investment fund in over 70 companies related to intelligent equipment, semiconductors, and raw materials.
The founder stated that “We have spent 10 billion yuan (roughly $1.48 billion) on research and development since the beginning of this year and we will increase it by a certain percentage in the subsequent years.” Further adding that “Xiaomi will continue to expand its footprint in the overseas markets. We plan to gain a lead in the European market over the next three to five years, and in more developed countries in the future.”

Anyway, as a bonus, the buds are PX5-certified for splash resistant and they weigh only 3.1g each.
Unfortunately, the Meizu Buds can be only bought in glossy white color option. However, on the plus side, the company claims it to offer 20-hour battery life with the charging case.
Whereas, the buds themselves are said to last for 5 hours. Last but not least, when the case runs out of juice, it can be filled within 1.5 hours.

The F17 Pro and A93 support 30W VOOC 4.0 Flash Charge, whereas the newly announced Reno4 F and Reno4 Lite carry 18W fast charging. The other specs of the Reno4 F are identical to the F17 Pro.
OPPO Reno4 F specifications and features
The OPPO Reno4 F flaunts a 6.43-inch AMOLED screen that delivers a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, 409ppi pixel density, and 60Hz refresh rate. The company claims that the Reno4 F with its dual punch-hole screen offers a screen-to-body ratio of 90.67 percent. The AMOLED screen is integrated with a fingerprint scanner and it is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. The device boots to Android 10 OS that is overlaid with ColorOS 7.2 UI.
The front-facing camera setup has a 16-megapixel primary camera with f/2.4 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The square-shaped camera lens placed on the backside of the phone has a 48-megapixel Samsung GM1ST main shooter with f/1.7 aperture, an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture, and a pair of 2-megapixel mono cameras with f/2.4 apertures.

In the smartphone market, the industry is ever evolving and technological breakthroughs bring about a new standard every year. Current gen smartphones already arrive with 5nm chips. However, these chips might be hard to come by for Huawei even with SMIC working on its new N+1 process nodes.
Thus, the company might be able to outfit its current generation of a flagship with 5nm chips, but the same might not be said for future launches in the coming year. At the moment, a possible supplier for chips was China’s largest semiconductor based firm, SMIC. But unfortunately, the company’s most advanced solution at the time was 14nm processes. A 5nm process has about 171.3 million transistors per square mm, on the other hand, a 14nm process only has about 43 million transistors in the same space. So the higher the number of transistors, the chip is more powerful and energy efficient.
But, SMIC recently announced its new N+1 process nodes that are being called 8nm or an early stage 7nm process, as per a PhoneArenareport. Currently, the process is being tested, with the manufacturing under testing to work out any issues or kinks that might occur before mass production on assembly lines. Although this arrives as positive news, it still might be too late as the new process is already a step behind what TSMC is currently offering. Meaning, by the time SMIC reaches 5nm processes, the industry would have moved onto 3nm with TSMC.
The Huawei Mate 40 series‘ launch is just around the corner, with the date of October 22. The company’s latest lineup will include multiple variants including the Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro, and Mate 40 Pro Plus. Now, a new report suggests that the higher end Mate 40 Pro might feature a Hexa camera setup.
Recently, Huawei had released an official teaser promotional image in China. It offered a glimpse of the device as a silhouette with an octagonal shaped rear camera module. However, a known leakster on Twitter (@RODENT950) shared a clearer and enhanced version of that image focusing on the camera module. This image was probably for one of the higher end Pro variants that house six cameras on the rear.
At the moment, the specifications of these cameras are currently unknown, although, the leakster believes that it might be a Hexa camera setup with the primary sensor being a 108 megapixel sensor and at least one periscopic zoom lens. Furthermore, the leakster also shared another image on Twitter, which stated that the new Mate 40 Pro / Mate 40 Pro Plus will feature professional grade video recording.
He stated that, “With Mate 40 pro/pro+, you no longer need to carry that massive video camera with you and still get the same stunning results.” Unfortunately, these are still unconfirmed information at the moment. So take this report with a pinch of salt and stay tuned for more updates and the launch event, which we will be covering as well.

OnePlus had partnered with the largest wireless network carrier in the United States — Verizon to launch the OnePlus 8 UW smartphone. If you were expecting the same with the newly launched OnePlus 8T, then there’s some bad news.
According to a report from Android Authority, Verizon has confirmed that there won’t be a OnePlus 8T Verizon variant. This means that the users of the network carrier won’t be able to get discounts or payment plans for this new smartphone.
However, the report goes on to add that the users may still be able to activate the device on the Verizon network to use it if they already have or purchase an unlocked variant of the OnePlus 8T smartphone.
The reason for not launching a Verizon-exclusive variant of this newly launched flagship smartphone has not been revealed by the company. However, some reports indicate that the reason could be the alleged weak sales of the OnePlus 8 UW smartphone, closing the road for a successor device.
But, OnePlus still has other partnerships in place. T-Mobile will be having OnePlus 8T smartphone on its network and the company is also gearing up to launch an exclusive variant for T-Mobile, dubbed as OnePlus 8T Plus that will come with support for 2.5GHz 5G network and IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.

OnePlus was one of the few brands part of Android 11 Beta program. This helped the brand to roll out stable OxygenOS 11 based on Android 11 to OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro last week. In the announcement for the rollout, the company also listed the eligible devices for the update. Now, a OnePlus spokesperson has also revealed when the last year’s OnePlus 7 and OnePus 7 Pro will get the update.
Oneplus 7 pro
After the OnePlus 8 series, the OnePlus 7T series should be first in line to receive the Android 11-based OxygenOS 11 update. However, interestingly, a company spokesperson revealed the Android 11 timeline for OnePlus 7 series instead of OnePlus 7T to Android Authority.
According to the said OnePlus representative, OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro will receive OxygenOS 11 update in December. That means the OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro should ideally get it before, however, the executive did not mention anything about it.
Further, OnePlus recently recruited closed beta testers for the OnePlus Nord. Hence, there’s a chance that this handset may also get the Android 11 update before the end of 2020.
Last but not least, we expect the company to deliver OxygenOS 11 update to OnePlus 6T and OnePlus 6 in Q1 2021. As for OnePlus 8T, it ships with the latest software out of the box.
Oppo has just made the new Find X2 League of Legends Limited Edition available for reservations in China. This special version of the Find X2 arrives with a special theme and design, which is based around the immensely popular MOBA game title.
Earlier this week, the company’s official Weibo account, a Chinese microblogging website, shared a post that announced the release of the device and offered links for reservations for potential buyers. The reservation can be made from two different websites and is only available for the people in China. The Find X2 special edition sports 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage and will feature a custom new design and exclusive theme as well.
Its launch celebrates League of Legends 11th year anniversary and features the Worlds 2020 logo on the back, which is the name of its professional esports league. Apart from the design, the internals is identical to the regular Find X2 variants.
The on-going US-China trade war keeps intensifying with every passing week. In the latest development, the U.S. State Department has submitted a proposal to add China’s Ant Group to a trade blacklist.
The development was first reported by Reuters, citing two people aware of the matter. However, it is not yet clear when the relevant agency in the government will review the company to determine its addition to the Entity List.
The news comes at a crucial time as the Ant Group is going public and could be worth up to $35 billion with dual lists in Shanghai and Hong Kong. It is reported that the move from the U.S. comes as the China hardliners are seeking to deter U.S. investors from taking part in the initial public offering (IPO).
The Trump officials fear Ant could potentially give the Chinese government access to sensitive banking data belonging to U.S. users. This is the same reason that the U.S. government has been using to ban Chinese companies, without actually offering any proof to back the claim.
Adding Chinese companies to the Entity List has become the go-to move for the United States government. It started with Huawei in May last year, which has made it very difficult for the company to carry on with its smartphone business.
While the move of adding the company to Entity List has been effective for Huawei, the same move for Ant Group is unlikely to have any substantial effect given that the company has only 5 percent of its business outside of China.
For those who are unaware, Ant Group is the leading mobile payments company in China and offers several services, including loans, payments, insurance, and asset management. Alibaba Group Holding has a 33 percent stake in Ant and the company is controlled by Jack Ma, founder of Alibaba.
