Microscope Surface Duo phone is a good come back for Microsoft after 4years since their last release of a mobile phone. This beautiful and expensive device was not spare by Zack Nelson a popular YouTuber with the handle JerryRigEverything who has put the device through his popular durability routine.
The result is actually surprising as the Microsoft Surface Duo seems to be one of the best foldable smartphone money can buy though expensive but could be bent to the back and front without damage to the screen.
The amount of effort put in by Zack Nelson is a little alarming as the phone was bent to both side and eventually heated with a flame and yet it was not damaged, though the screen was a bit expanded. Although the scratch test is nothing new, it still is impressive. The phone packs a Gorilla Glass 5 protection so deeper grooves appeared at a level 7.
Unlike other foldable devices, the Surface Duo is equipped with two screens and a well-crafted metal hinge on both sides to keep it whole. The plastic frame is able to hold the screens together. The device is not really fragile despite the choice of plastic as it passed the durability test. It is one of the most flexible phone money can buy and the price looks quite justifiable. However, the device can be permanently curved so maybe not too right to be placed in the back pocket and sat on.
In late July, Samsung launched its cheapest 2020 smartphone in the form of Galaxy M01 Core in India. This device is also known as Galaxy A01 Core in certain markets. A few days ahead of its announcement, the company also launched one of its bizarre handsets of 2020 called Galaxy M01s. Now, within two months from their debut, both these devices have received a permanent price cut of ₹500 ($7).
Samsung Galaxy M01 Core Red
Samsung released the Galaxy M01 Core as its cheapest smartphone of 2020 in India for ₹5,499 ($75). This price was for the base variant with 1GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. Whereas, the higher 2GB + 32GB storage version debuted for 6,499 ($88).
Now with the latest ₹500 ($7) price cut, this handset is even more affordable at ₹4,999 ($68) and ₹5,999 ($81) respectively. The highlight of this device is Android 10 Go Edition with One UI.
Similarly, the South Korean tech giant has also slashed the price of Galaxy M01s by the same amount and therefore, it now retails for ₹9,499 instead of ₹9,999. It comes in a single 3GB + 32GB version.
We mentioned this phone as bizarre in the introduction because despite being a Galaxy M series smartphone, the features offered by this handset pale in comparison to products from other brands as well as its own siblings.
Earlier in May, TENCO Spark 5 was released by the brand in Ghana. Now, after four months, the company is all set to unveil its successor going by the name of TECNO Spark 6. This handset was spotted on FCC last Saturday and now this week, it visits Geekbench revealing its chipset as well as the amount of RAM.
The TECNO Spark 6 FCC and Geekbench listings were shared by Abhishek Yadav on Twitter. He tweeted the former last week but we missed to cover it. Since now with Geekbench, we sort of have all the primary specs of this upcoming phone, let us have a look at them together.
According to Geekbench, this forthcoming TECNO smartphone will be powered by MediaTek helio A25 paired with 4GB RAM and Android 10 operating system. It may also arrive in a lower RAM + internal storage configuration.
On the other hand, the FCC certification bureau exposes a lot about this phone, thanks to the pictures of the device and its 10W charger that are included in the certification documents. Hence, we know that it will come with a circular camera array for four cameras on the back with a fingerprint sensor below it.
Whereas, on the front, it will feature a punch-hole display. Lastly, the FCC also reveals this phone to arrive with support for a dedicated microSD card slot.
That said, TECNO is yet to announce the launch date of this smartphone. Going by its predecessor, it should be priced around $125.
There are only a few companies that sell Android tablets in 2020. The notable two brands are Samsung and Huawei. The South Korean tech giant had only recently launched Galaxy Tab S7 and Galaxy Tab S7+ as its flagship tablet devices. Now, it seems the company will soon release Galaxy Tab Active3 whose entire specs have been now leaked.
The upcoming Galaxy Tab Active3 will be the successor to Galaxy Tab Active2 from late 2017. Samsung’s Active series of tablets are targeted at industries, hence the long interval of 3 years between the launch of each new model. For those unaware, the first one in the series was unveiled back in December 2014.
That said, the 2020 model was first spotted on Geekbench with model number SM-T575 in July powered by Exynos 9810 paired with 4GB RAM and Android 10 operating system. In case you are wondering, this chipset made its debut inside Galaxy S9 in 2018.
Now, an exclusive leak by SamMobilereveals the other remaining specs of this forthcoming Galaxy Tab Active3. According to the publication, it will be MIL-STD 810 certified for durability and will be available in 64GB and 128GB storage configurations. Customers will also have an option to get it with LTE connectivity.
Further, on the front, the tablet will sport an 8-inch TFT LCD panel with a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels and three physical buttons below it for navigation as per SafetyKorea certification bureau. It will come with Bluetooth 5.0 and will also support S Pen with remote control option.
Last but not least, it will be backed by a 5,050mAh battery and its launch date is not known at the moment. Anyway, since its a niche product, we expect Samsung to announce it via press release in the coming days like the Galaxy S20 Tactical Edition.
A rumour first emerged in July that Xiaomi has got a pair of smartphones in the works codenamed Gauguin and Gauguin Pro. A new Xiaomi model with model number M2007J17C has reportedly received network access permission.
The blogger who broke the news (Digital Chat Station) disclosed that the model is codenamed Gaauguin which has earlier featured in a leak. The phone will pack a 108MP main camera sensor and will be Xiaomi’s cheapest 100MP sensor-packing phone.
Since it is going to be the cheapest, that likely means it will drop under the Redmi brand. If that happens, it will make the phone Redmi’s first 100MP phone. At present, the Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro and Mi CC9 Pro are the only models from Xiaomithat uses Samsung’s 100MP sensor jointly developed by Samsung and Xiaomi. The sensor has a sensor area of 1/1.33 inches, and the photosensitive area is a full 48MP sensor. The larger the sensor size, the larger the photosensitive area, the more photons captured, the better the photosensitive performance, and the better the imaging effect.
At present, the new product of the Redmi brand that has not been released is the Redmi Note 10 series, so this model is likely a member of the Redmi Note 10 series. A new Redmi model with model number M2007J22C received network certification recently. Going by the model number, it is safe to suggest that this new M2007J17C model may be the top-end Redmi Note 10 Pro. There are speculations that the phone may be launched around October.
Chinese smartphone maker realme launched its first-ever smartwatch called realme Watch in the month of May in India. Though the brand calls it a smartwatch, it is merely a fitness tracker disguised as a watch. Earlier this month at IFA 2020, the company teased two new smartwatches – realme Watch S & realme Watch S Pro, both of which received certain certifications a few days back. Now, the regular version also passes through FCC and EEC.
The realme Watch S Pro was certified by FCC last week (September 8). The images of the product meant for FCC certification leaked anyway though there is a confidentiality letter requesting the wearable to be kept in secrecy for 45 days. We are not sure where those images came from but it is not in the database.
Similarly, the FCC certification for realme Watch S certified on September 18 (via @yabhishekhd on Twitter) also has the same confidentiality letter. Hence, its images are too not available for the public officially. Also, they did not leak. But we assume it to feature a similar design as the Pro model.
Further, this wearable also gets certified by Russia’s EEC, other than Malaysia’s SIRIM earlier this week. All the certifications of realme Watch S do not reveal any of its specifications except for its model number – RMA207.
That said, the company is yet to announce the exact launch date for its upcoming smartwatches. They may debut alongside realme Buds Air Pro whose design patent was recently approved by CNIPA.
At the beginning of this month, Realme announced the Realme X7, Realme X7 Pro, and Realme V3 smartphones in China. Now, two new phones such as Realme phones with model numbers RMX2117 and RMX2173 have appeared in the database of China’s TENAA telecom authority with a few specs.
The Realme RMX2173 and RMX2117 are 5G-ready smartphones heading towards Chinese markets. Currently, the TENAA listing of the RMX2117 shows that it measures 162.2 x 75.1 x 9.1mm and it features a 6.5-inch display. The phone is equipped with a rated battery of 4,900mAh capacity. On the other side, the Realme RMX2173 has 160.9 x 74.4 x 8.1mm dimensions and it is fitted with a 6.43-inch display. The device is backed by a dual-cell battery and the rated capacity of one of its battery is 2,100mAh.

At present, the final product names of these phones are not available yet. Hopefully, the TENAA listings of both phones will be updated with full specs and images in the coming week.
Reliable tipster Digital Chat Station has more details on the specs of the RMX2117 smartphone. He revealed that its 6.5-inch LCD panel has a punch-hole design and supports Full HD+ resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, and 180Hz sampling rate. It is driven by an octa-core processor that ticks at 2.4GHz.
It has a front camera of 16-megapixel and its rear has a 48-megapixel + 8-megapixel + 2-megapixel triple camera system. The phone houses a 5,000mAh battery and it weighs 194 grams. The handset could be priced around 1,500 Yuan (~$221) in China. It is speculated that the Realme RMX2117 will debut as a Realme Q series phone.
The dimensions, screen size, and battery capacity of the Realme RMX2173 phone are an exact match with Realme X7 that has a similar model number of RMX2176. Hence, it is likely that the RMX2173 may end up as some sort of a variant of the Realme X7.

If you are looking to grab your first Chromebook without breaking the bank, the Lenovo Duet Chromebook is your best bet. The tablet has received several positive reviews for its value for money. Now, Lenovo has a new accessory for it that makes the tablet even more useful.
The Chromebook tablet ships with a keyboard included in the box, so you can get some work done. If you usually use a stylus such as for notetaking, graphic design, or drawing, then the new Lenovo USI Pen is a necessary purchase.
Lenovo says the stylus has 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity for natural writing, fine art, or graphic design. The stylus which weighs about 14 grams and is about 137 millimeters will last up to 150 days if you use it for just 2 hours a day. Unfortunately, it is not rechargeable as it uses an AAAA battery.
The stylus uses the USI (Universal Stylus Initiative) standard which Google is pushing to be available on Chromebooks that support stylus input. With the USI standard, you can use the Lenovo USI Pen on any device that supports the standard. So if you buy Lenovo’s stylus and eventually ditch the Chromebook Duet, you can still hold on to your stylus and use it with other compatible devices.
The Lenovo USI Pen is available on Lenovo.com for $39.99. It is cheaper than HP‘s own USI Pen which is usually out of stock but has a rechargeable battery.
Amazon is one-upping Google by announcing its product launch a week before Google’s own. While Amazon’s smartphone making days are over, it is its new smart home products that will be taking on Google’s.
Invites which have been sent to the press says the event is scheduled for September 24 and will begin at 1 PM Eastern Time. The invite doesn’t tease what to expect but The Verge reports that it says the Amazon Devices and Services Team will share “some news”.
Last year, Amazon announced a bunch of products such as its very first TWS earbuds called the Echo Buds; the large Echo Studio home speaker, the third-gen Echo Speaker; and an Echo dot with a clock. It also announced some invite-only products such as the Echo Frames smart glasses and a smart ring called the Echo Loop.
Seeing as Google will be announcing a new smart speaker and a new Google Chromecast powered by Google TV, we presume we will get a new Echo Speaker(s) and a new Fire TV Stick too from Amazon.
We expect some of the new Amazon products will also make their way to India but most likely not immediately.

MIUI 12 is the latest version of Xiaomi’s mobile operating system based on Android. The company announced it in late April. Since then, it has been updating the eligible devices with weekly beta as well as stable builds worldwide. Since the firm is done updating its flagship and mid-range smartphones, it is now rolling out the update to older and budget handsets. Therefore, Redmi Note 9 Pro launched in March is getting the MIUI 12 update in India only now.
Earlier in August, Redmi Note 9 became the first device in the Redmi Note 9 series to receive MIUI 12 update. Now, after a month, Xiaomi has begun to seed the update to Redmi Note 9 Pro making it the second handset in the series to get this treatment.
That said, the MIUI 12 update for Redmi Note 9 Pro comes with build number V12.0.1.0.QJWINXM and weighs 755MB in size (via PiunikaWeb). It is currently being rolled out to limited users in the country. If there’s no major issue, the rollout will be extended for more users.
Also, this smartphone is sold as Redmi Note 9S outside India. Hence, those variants should also start receiving the update in the coming days.
It is worth noting that Google has released Android 11 but the update for this phone comes with Android 10. Fortunately, the Redmi Note 9 Pro is eligible for the latest version of Android, however, the rollout may take time as Xiaomi is right now working to deliver it to its flagship smartphones

The Samsung Wireless Charging Trio is a wireless charger that can charge three devices at the same time. The charger was announced at the beginning of the month alongside the Galaxy Tab A7. However, there were only a few details revealed. Now we have more details thanks to a listing on Samsung’s Korea website.
The Samsung Wireless Charging Trio is divided into two – there is a larger side for charging devices with support for fast wireless charging and a smaller side for the Galaxy Watch 3 and other supported watches. Samsung says there are six coils inside the charger and users do not need to line up the device to charge. Just place your phone on it and it will begin to charge.
The larger side of the charger will fast charge devices at up to 9W while Apple devices will charge at up to 7.5W. Users can also turn off fast wireless charging under the settings menu of their device if they wish. Samsung says the wireless charger will ship with a 25W PD wired charger in the box.
Users will be able to charge their phones even if they have a case on as long as it is not more than 3 mm thick. As you can see below, these Samsung cases work fine. Samsung says thicker cases may cause a drop in wattage, an increase in heat generated, and an increase in the time taken to charge.
The Samsung Wireless Charging Trio has a maximum input current of 2.7A and a maximum input voltage of 9V. There are three LEDs on the charger which flash red when a device is charging, turn green when the device is full, and also has a color for when there is a charging error. Samsung says users can change the brightness of the LEDs but this is supported only on devices released after the Galaxy S10 series.
The page also reveals the charger has a 1-meter long cable, weighs 320 grams, and measures 240 x 86 x 15.5 millimeters. Sadly, there is no mention of the price.

The dongle has an HDMI cable at one end while the main body houses a USB port for power, a status LED, and a reset button.
The renders give us a better look at the device and its unusual remote. There is the Google “G” logo we have come to recognize on Pixel phones engraved on the dongle. The remote is shaped like a large pill with a D-pad at the top. The power button which is usually found at the top in most remotes is at the bottom.
Other buttons on the remote include a back/return button, a Google Assistant button, a home button, a mute button, dedicated buttons for YouTube and Netflix, and side-mounted volume controls. Of course, there is a microphone on the remote.
