To become completely independent, the company has focused its efforts on developing its own core technologies. These include it’s in house chip manufacturing processes, design and more. The move will make Huawei completely self dependent but would affect the various Taiwanese companies that Huawei often works with.

Various suppliers will lose out deals or contracts that be valued for a very high sum. However, the supply of technologies like display driver chips, sensors, wireless transmission chips, and analog chips will still be contracted to suppliers, considering that the company is focusing on Core areas only, for now. Currently, Huawei is working on making its own processors and AI chips while simultaneously working on wired and wireless connectivity chips as well, which should roll out by Q2 of 2020.
