The company has also sent out invites for the upcoming launch on Thursday. Initially launched in May 2018, Mi Credit is the company’s service that acts as a platform for users to initiate instant financial lending in India.

The service, which is aimed at young professionals, can be initiated in less than 10 minutes with a simple KYC verification and offers tenure between 15 days to 90 days with interest rate of 3 percent per month. However, the service is currently available to MIUI users only and will not be available for stock Android phones like Xiaomi Mi A1.

The company says that Mi Credit acts as a platform for users to “initiate financial lending.” Xiaomi has also listed the financial loan providers on Mi Credit where users can log onto the platform and apply for quick loans.

The launch of Mi Credit marks the company’s third value-added internet service in India after the company launched Mi Music and Mi Video earlier this month. As said, it remains to be seen how the service will be different from the earlier one.

Realme may soon function as an independent brand

Realme might soon operate independently from OPPO, according to company officials. Both OPPO and Realme are subsidiaries of Guangzhou-based BBK Electronics Corporation, a conglomerate that also owns Vivo and OnePlus. Realme already has a separate R&D and marketing divisions, although it currently shares resources with Oppo.

In his official statement, Chung Hsiang-Wei, Chief Commercial Officer, Realme Taiwan said, “The brand is expected to develop its own ecosystem in the future, complete with production lines if the business continues to grow at the current pace”. Realme was recently ranked #7 in global shipments and named the fastest growing smartphone brand.

realme-logo

Realme does not compete directly with OPPO, which is aiming for the premium range with the latest Reno series. Realme, on the other hand, is focused on designing budget-friendly smartphones for the fashion-centric and tech-savvy generation. Realme is slowly expanding its portfolio into the smart wearables market and is just about to launch its truly wireless earbuds, presumably by the end of December. Realme is also working on a range of 5G smartphones, the first of which could launch within the next few weeks. Chung shared an interesting trivia about both brands, comparing their user base. While 60% of Realme users are males, OPPO”s customer base predominantly consists of females.

In related news, Realme went ahead and unlocked Bootloader on its entire smartphone line-up in China which includes  Realme X2, Realme X2 Pro, Realme X2 Pro Master Edition, Realme Q, Realme X and Realme X Youth Edition. This gives users a higher level of freedom and greater control over the devices. Android users often flash Custom UI or new skin using third-party programs that void the factory warranty. With Realme officially unlocking its smartphones, users no longer have to worry about foregoing warranties.

OPPO Reno 3 Pro 5G render showing full front design appear

The OPPO Reno 3 Pro 5G phone that was teased yesterday revealed that it is equipped with a curved display. However, it did not reveal the entire display. Today, LetsGoDigital has shared a new render of the OPPO Reno 3 Pro 5G phone to showcase its full front view. It reveals that the device features a punch-hole display.

Earlier this week, a leaked screenshot of an upcoming OPPO phone had surface on Weibo. The image had revealed that the said phone may come with a punch-hole display as there was an unused area in the UI at the top-left corner. The aforementioned publication has shared a render of the Reno 3 Pro 5G.

As it can be seen in the render below, it features a punch-hole at the top-left corner of the screen. The side bezels of the phone appear almost non-existent as the screen curve towards the edges. The upper and lower bezels of the phone are also thin. This indicates that the phone will boast a very high screen-to-body ratio. It is speculated that the phone could be housing a 6.5-inch AMOLED display with an in-screen fingerprint reader.

The new leak has no new information on the specifications of the Reno 3 Pro 5G. As OPPO VP Brian She revealed, the device is equipped with a 7.7mm chassis with a glass rear. The device is equipped with a 4.,025mAh battery that will probably arrive with fast charging support. It will be a dual-mode 5G smartphone that could be powered by the Snapdragon 735 5G chipset. As it is known, it will be the first phone to arrive with ColorOS 7 UI preinstalled. Probably, the handset will boot to Android 10 OS.

The display punch-hole could be housing a 32-megapixel selfie snapper. The rear shell of the phone may house a quad camera setup with a 60-megapixel main lens. The device may come with up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of native storage. Hopefully, the company will also unveil the Reno 3 smartphone alongside the Reno 3 Pro in the coming month.

Samsung Galaxy S11 to Feature a new Bright Night Sensor for Low Light Photography

According to a new report, Samsung‘s Galaxy S11 series will feature a major camera upgrade over its predecessors. The upcoming entry in the Galaxy flagship series is expected to arrive in both 4G and 5G variants and will feature a penta camera setup for the first time; A notable addition to which is the new Bright Night sensor.

Galaxy S11 Plus render
Reported: Samsung Galaxy S11 Render

The 5 camera module is expected to be equipped with a 108-megapixel primary shooter alongside a special Bright Night sensor. This seems to be a new camera sensor that will be specialized in lowlight photography and even night videography. It also marks Samsung’s departure from a software solution to a dedicated image sensor altogether.

The tech giant filed a trademark with EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office) for the ‘Bright Night Sensor’. The name of this new sensor is similar to the ‘bright night shot mode’ found on the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10 series. However, this time dedicated hardware can be found in the trademark description which also includes low light videography.

Smartphone manufacturers are pushing the boundaries for compact photography each year with their handset offerings. In recent times, smartphones perform quite well even in low light, with devices capturing more and more details and sharpness after each passing year. Apple’s iPhone 11 series, with great low light camera performance, is one such example. Hence, it is quite possible that Samsung is planning on innovating on the same aspect. Manufacturers have been providing software solutions like night mode for the past couple of years now, so a hardware inclusion is a welcomed new addition.

Now, Lu Weibing, General Manager of the Redmi brand, has teased a new feature for the smartphone. He said that the phone will come with “world’s first high-resolution image sensor” and said that more details will be revealed at the launch event.

Redmi K30 Launch Date Poster

It has already been confirmed that the upcoming Redmi K30 smartphone will come with dual-mode 5G support, which includes SA and NSA modes. This makes it the first dual-mode 5G smartphone coming from the company.

From the teaser image shared by the company, it is confirmed that the smartphone will feature a punch-hole display and the cut-out on top of the display will be housing two front-facing camera sensors.

Apart form these features, nothing has been officially revealed related to the specifications of the upcoming Redmi K30 smartphone. Meizu Note 9 may launch in India soon following BIS certification

It has been more than 7 months since the release of the Meizu Note 9 in China. A successor is most likely already in development if Meizu is sticking to the same schedule. However, it appears the mid-range phone may soon launch in India.

It has been reported that a device believed to be the Meizu Note 9 has been certified by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). First reported by True-Tech, the device is shown to have a model number (M923H) that is similar to that of the Meizu Note 9 (M923Q). The different last alphabet is what distinguishes both phones and it hints at them being just market variants.

The Meizu Note 9 was originally scheduled to launch during Diwali but that didn’t happen due to problems with getting the certification. Now that it has been certified, Meizu may announce it soon to mark its return into the Indian market.

The phone may not be the only new product launching soon in India. It has been reported that the Meizu POP 2 true wireless earbuds have also been certified.

The Meizu Note 9 has a 6.2-inch FHD+ display with a pretty small waterdrop notch. It is powered by the Snapdragon 675 processor and is available in 6GB+128GB, 6GB+64GB, and 4GB+64GB variants. There is no support for storage expansion, so you are stuck with whatever configuration you purchase. There is a 48MP primary camera on the back of the phone along with a 5MP depth sensor. The notch on the screen is home to a 20MP sensor.

The phone also packs a 4000mAh battery with support for18W mCharge. It also has a USB Type-C port, an audio jack and Bluetooth 5.0.

The release date for the phone is still unknown but that may change soon.

Honor V30 Pro vs OnePlus 7T vs Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro: Specs Comparison

The Honor V30 Pro is the latest top-end flagship from Huawei’s sub-brand and it looks simply gorgeous not only because of its high-end specs sheet but also for its amazing cameras and 5G support. It will probably need time to hit the European market due to issues related to the U.S. ban, but it has already debuted in China. There, it has several rivals in the affordable flagship segment. Among the most interesting there is OnePlus 7T and Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro. Here is a comparison between the latest affordable flagships from Honor, OnePlus and Xiaomi.

Design

If you are ok with the rectangle-shaped camera module on the back, we suggest you go for the Honor V30 Pro. It has a more futuristic form factor and a notch-less display thanks to its in-display front cameras. The punch-hole display minimizes the bezels without the need for a notch and makes the device a lot more elegant. If you do not like the rear side with that huge camera module, then you may prefer the Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro offering an awesome build quality thanks to its Gorilla Glass 6 back and its 7000 series aluminum frame.

Display

The most advanced display is on board of the OnePlus 7T, despite it does not feature a Quad HD+ resolution like its Pro sibling. Unlike Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro and Honor V30 Pro, the handset supports a 90 Hz refresh rate as well as the HDR10+ standard for the richest image quality. It even provides full DCI P3 coverage. If you still want an amazing display but not at the same level as the OnePlus 7T, then you should definitely opt for the Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro which supports HDR10 and sports a Super AMOLED display. The Honor V30 Pro has an average-class IPS display and, despite its punch-hole design suggests the opposite, its image quality is not the best you can find.

Hardware/Software

The Snapdragon 855+ chipset found on the OnePlus 7T and Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro is way better than the Kirin 990 on the Honor V30 Pro when it comes to speed and overall performance. Between OnePlus 7T and Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro, OnePlus 7T wins thanks to its amazing software optimization and a UFS 3.0 internal storage. But unfortunately, the OnePlus 7T is the only which does not have a variant with 5G connectivity. The Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro comes in a higher-end configuration with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of native storage, as well as a 5G variant, that is why it wins the hardware comparison. In each case, you get Android 10 out of the box.

Camera

Honor V30 Pro is the camera master here. It has a better rear department including a 40 MP main sensor with OIS, an 8 MP  telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and an ultrawide lens. It clicks better photos in low light conditions and captures more detail. Even the videos are way better. Right after, there is OnePlus 7T with its 48 MP triple camera and OIS. Honor V30 Pro wins even when it comes to selfies thanks to its dual front camera including a 32 MP main sensor and an 8 MP ultrawide lens.

Battery

Honor V30 Pro has the biggest battery, but it is not sure that it will offer a longer battery life than Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro. We have to test the Honor V30 Pro thoroughly in order to give you a definitive verdict.

Price

Honor V30 Pro starts from €500/$550 just like Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro, while OnePlus 7T starts from €385/$425. At the end of the day, I define Honor V30 Pro a more interesting device for the average user due to its better cameras, 5G support, reverse wireless charging and more. But if you do not care about 5G, then you might prefer the OnePlus 7T for its better display and performance, even though it has a smaller battery and lacks reverse wireless charging. Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro sits in the middle with great performance, big battery, reverse wireless charging and optional 5G, but it is not among the best camera phones.
