The Galaxy S11 Plus is the latest Samsung device to leak in recent weeks. It comes after leaks of the Galaxy S11e and Galaxy S11, both of which leaked last week. And just like the previous ones, this is also from Steve Hemmerstoffer (@OnLeaks) in partnership with CashKaro.
The renders are based on CAD drawings and they show that Samsung will once again adopt the Galaxy Note10’s display design for the Galaxy S11 Plus. The curved display is reported to be a Dynamic AMOLED panel with a size of about 6.9-inches.
On the rear, the Galaxy S11 Plus has the same design we saw on its siblings but takes it up a notch. The design is the same black-housing-huge-bump but the main difference is the size. It is bigger now, much bigger, as a result of the sensors it houses which are actually five this time, two more than that of the Galaxy S10 Plus.
There are rumors that one of the sensors is Samsung’s 108MP sensor which we already know is quite big and takes up space. Samsung has trademarked some camera-related words that are speculated to be names of camera features for its upcoming flagships, so we are not surprised at the number of sensors this beast of a phone packs.
The Galaxy S11 Plus has a USB Type-C port at the bottom flanked on the right by a grille for the speaker and on the left by the primary microphone. Another microphone sits at the top while the right side of the phone is home to the volume and power buttons. Unfortunately, the audio jack is now gone after 10 years.
The phone’s dimensions are given as 166.9 x 76 x 8.8 millimeters (10.2 millimeters including the camera bump).
Samsung’s Galaxy S11 Plus should arrive with either the Exynos 990 processor or Snapdragon 865 depending on the market. Its display is expected to have a 120Hz refresh rate, a feature that will be the trend for next year’s flagship phones. We also expect it to pack quite a big battery to power its huge display with support for wireless charging and reverse wireless charging.
DJI has grown to become a household name when it comes to commercial drones. The Chinese company still strives to maintain its dominance of the market with the release of several easy to control and feature-packed drones. DJI drones have seen several software improvements such that it can even be controlled via the DJI Fly app which has its own intuitive design aimed at simplifying the flying and content capturing experiences so that even amateur drone pilots can manoeuvre the drones with ease. The Chinese company may be planning to bring smartwatch control into the mix in no distant time.
Pictures of what is said to be DJI’s smartwatch has leaked online. The photos capture both the front and the rear aspects. The watch adopts an unusual design which has a circular dial but with the bezel extending at the top right corner. The extension seems to hold what looks like a tiny joystick which is perhaps for controlling the drone.
The smartwatch first appeared around March 2018 when the design was patented by DJI. The sketch shows the watch will come with a display, five-dimensional buttons and a circuit board. The display has the DJI logo at the bottom part.
At the rear aspect, the DJI watch comes with four pins which are likely to charge it using a dock. There are also two physical buttons on the right side and one on the left side.
As shown in the sketch, the four metal points may be for charging the device and data transfer.
The patent introduction had clearly stated that the smartwatch will be used to control the drone, but the specific technical details are still not clear. For instance, we don’t know if the screen can display navigation pages and real-time image transmission and other functions. However, there are speculations that the product is likely to be used in outdoor sports such as using drone tracking for skiing, surfing, and motorcycle racing so that the controller can free his hands from the remote control. The hands-free design also allows the drone to provide more accurate GPS positioning information to the tracking drone.
There is no word yet as to when this smartwatch will be officially launched.

The Honor Magic Watch 2 launched today alongside other Honor products. The successor to last year’s Magic Watch comes with a bigger screen, a new processor, and a much bigger battery.
With respect to design, the major change is a bigger display. It is a 1.39-inch AMOLED display with a 454 x 454 resolution, an upgrade from its predecessor’s 1.2-inch 390 x 390 screen. There are still two buttons on the right side of the bezel and the dial has a tachymeter. Also, the bezel around the display appears to be slimmer. The Magic Watch 2 is available in two color variants – Carbon Black and Flax Brown. There are several watch faces to chose from.
The Magic Watch 2 gets a boost in performance too with the new Kirin A1 processor inside. This is the same chip inside the Huawei Watch GT 2 and the Freebuds 3. The chip also brings Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity.
The watch comes with a bunch of fitness features. There is 24-hour heart-rate monitoring with TruSeen 3.5, SP02 measurement, sleep monitoring with TruSleep 2.0 and up to 200 suggestions to help the user sleep better. There is also 24-hour stress monitoring paired with TruRelax which offers suggestions to help you keep calm.
The Honor Watch GT 2 can track up to 15 different sport modes including hiking, indoor and outdoor running, swimming, walking, and triathlons.
Another major upgrade is the battery capacity which is now 455mAh, more than double the first-gen Magic Watch’s 178mAh. Honor says users will get up o 2 weeks of battery life in normal mode, 30 hours with GPS turned on, 24 hours of music playback, and 10 hours of Bluetooth call. The Magic Watch 2 has NFC and supports bus card payments.
The Magic Watch 2 is priced at ¥1399 (~$199) and is available for pre-order on Vmall. It will go on sale on December 12 and the first 100 orders will get a free Honor Smart Scale.
At today’s event, Honor announced the list of its phones that will get the new Magic UI 3.0 update based on Android 10. The new version of Magic UI already ships with the new Honor V30 phones out of the box.
Unfortunately, Honor didn’t include the dates when the update will be made available for the aforementioned devices. It is also pretty sad to see the Honor Play not make the list, further confirming the news from Honor India last month.
Magic UI 3.0 brings new features such as Dark Mode, new animations, improvements in system performance, multi-device connectivity, Smart HiCar support (its own version of Android Auto) and more.
Huwaei launched a second-generation model of its popular smartwatch, the Watch GT in Munich back in September. The Watch GT 2 arrived with new features such as a new processor called the Kirin A1, underwater heart rate monitoring, Bluetooth call support (distance up to 150 meters from the phone), music playback (can store up to 500 songs) and still managed to keep the 2-week battery life of the first-gen model.
The Huawei Watch GT 2 didn’t go on sale until October in China and Europe. 45 days later, Huawei says it has shipped 1 million units. That is a super impressive record considering the fact that it took it more than 6 months to ship 2 million units of the Watch GT. The new watch is even yet to launch in India but there are rumors it will arrive next month.
The Watch GT 2 has a 1.39-inch AMOLED display with 3D glass on top. It comes in 42mm and 46mm sizes with replaceable straps. However, there are six variants in total. The watch has 13 different running courses and 15 workout modes pre-installed along with GPS to track your training. It also has heart rate tracking and sleep monitoring as well as a Find My Phone feature, flashlight mode, and support for notifications.
Huawei held a launch event today where the Honor V30 series was officially unveiled. The tech giant also announced other products, one of which is a Nebula Purple variant of the Honor xSport Pro sports Bluetooth headset. The new variant will go on pre-sale on November 26 at 18:00 and December 4th at 23:59, and it will be sold on December 5 at 10:08 am. It has a retail price of 399 yuan ($56).
The Honor xSport Pro sports Bluetooth headset was first announced in China last month. As the “xSport” name suggests, the wireless earphones have a rugged design with a braided cable and Aluminum earbuds which are safeguarded via soft silicone sleeve. The headset was originally made available in Enchanting Red (Red/Black) and Seagull Ash (Silver/Black) gradients. The Nebula Purple variant becomes the third colour option.
Honor xSport Pro Enchanting Red gradient
The Honor xSport Pro have a neckband style design, therefore, when not in use the earbuds can be removed from the ears and allowed to rest around the chest region. Like most other neckband style headphones, they also have a magnetic back which can be used to keep the earbuds together when in the rest position.
The earmuffs/earbuds are made out of Aluminium and their shape resembles Apple’s AirPods that sit in the outer ear. However, Honor xSport PRO earbuds are covered with soft silicone sleeves which would make them fit snugly preventing them from falling out unintentionally while working out or performing rigorous physical activities.
The Honor xSport PRO weighs 25 grams which evenly distributed in its two halves. Its right side houses the microphone pinhole, volume rockers, play pause button and thoughtfully designed USB C male charging port which joins the two halves of the wireless earphones. On the other hand, the left side is free from any ports or openings and it is assumed to accommodate the 120 mAh battery that powers the device. The Honor xSport PRO takes about 70 minutes to charge and they can offer a continuous playback of 12 hours on medium volume. The Honor xSport Pro is equipped with Bluetooth 5.0 and it offers a working range of 10 metres. It also offers IP55 level of protection which makes it both dust and water-resistant.
Vivo’s iQOO series offers extremely great value for money to users in China. And it looks like a new model, Vivo V1936AL, will soon join the iQOO family as it has just passed through the TENAA certification. Considering its model number, it looks like a variant of the Vivo iQOO Neo 855.
According to TENAA, the Vivo V1936AL will come with a 6.38-inch waterdrop display with a battery capacity of 4420mAh. The dimensions will be 159.53 × 75.23 × 8.13mm, making it pretty thin. However, just like the iQOO Neo 855, the triple cameras on this model will protrude quite significantly. The certification was obtained by the purple color model but more color options are likely to be available at the time of its launch.
Unfortunately, that’s all we know about the Vivo V1936AL. TENAA is yet to upload the complete specifications of the device. Given how the size and dimensions of the new model are exactly the same as the Neo 855, it’s likely going to be launched as its variant.
Xiaomi India has announced a new smart home product that is up for crowdfunding on the Mi Store. Called the Mi Smart LED Desk 1S, it is the successor to the 2016 Mi Smart LED Desk Lamp.

We actually wish there was a black version too. It has a round base with a knob for adjusting the brightness and color temperature.
Clicking on the knob turns it on or off, rotating it adjusts the brightness and pressing down while rotating the knob adjusts the color temperature. You can switch to any of the modes using the Mi Home App but you can also quickly enter into focus mode by double-clicking the knob.
The Mi Smart LED Desk Lamp 1S also works with Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant.

Qualcomm recently disclosed that it expects mid-band 5G to spread into Peru, Nigeria, 22 smaller European markets, and developing countries in Asia ranging from Cambodia to Sri Lanka starting in 2021. Nigeria may get its own 5G network as early as next year as MTN Nigeria has announced the test-run of the first 5G network in Nigeria. The test was reportedly carried out on Monday in the country’s capital city, Abuja.
Apart from being the first 5G test run in Nigeria, it is also the first of such test carried out in West Africa. A statement by the telecom giant revealed that the feat became possible as a result of the strong collaboration between the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy, the Nigerian Communications Commission, (NCC), and MTN Nigeria. The test would be carried out in three cities using hardware from Huawei, ZTE and Ericsson.
The telecoms giant deployed a high-speed, low-latency virtual reality game to show the swiftness of 5G. Visitors also experienced ultra-high-speed streaming and downloads on 5G devices and interacted in real-time with life-like 3D holographic projections. According to MTN Nigeria, “3D holographic communication has potential applications for education, medical imaging, video conferencing and gaming, and requires about four times as much data as a streamed 4K video. “
The telecommunications giant further added that the 5G trials would be run in four other cities across the country, noting that the 5G trial will run for three months utilizing trial spectrum allocated to MTN Nigeria by the Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC). While this is good news, commercial rollout of 5G network may still be a long way from realization.

The latest generation of Xiaomi’s best selling Redmi Note series is doing pretty well in India. Earlier today, CEO Manu Kumar Jain took to twitter to reveal that Xiaomi sold more than 1 million units of the Redmi Note 8 series in India in just a month. To recall, the company unveiled the Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro models on October 16 in the Indian market, with sales kicking off on October 21.
The Redmi Note 8 duo offers incredible value in their price segments. Just a few days back, we reported that the Note 8 series sold 125,000 units in Indonesia, marking a new milestone for the company in the market. So, the success of the series in India isn’t surprising.
The Redmi Note 8 Pro features a 6.53-inch IPS LCD display with a waterdrop notch. It comes with a Helio G90T processor with 6GB or 8GB of RAM and up to 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage. A 64MP camera sits on the back of the phone along with an 8MP ultrawide camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. It also features a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, IR blaster, audio jack, NFC, and a 4500mAh battery with support for 18W fast charge.
On the other hand, the Redmi Note 8 comes with a 6.39-inch FHD+ LCD display and Snapdragon 665. There’s a quad-camera setup at the back featuring a 48MP f/1.79 aperture lens, an 8MP 120° wide-angle shooter, a 2MP macro camera and another 2MP depth sensor.
As the mobile industry’s next big thing is 5G adoption and extension, MediaTek released today its new 5G flagship SoC – Dimensity 1000 in Shenzhen. Also, the Chinese rugged phone manufacturer Ulefone revealed that they will be bringing 5G to rugged phones in 2020 using MediaTek’s new SoC.
This year was the year that the commercial use of 5G kicked off and operators in many countries around the world are beginning to upgrade their infrastructure to move to the future of wireless communications. Also, many smartphone manufacturers began launching 5G-capable smartphones. The lead on 5G smartphones is currently taken by Samsung’s Note 10 Series and Huawei’s Mate 30 Series but there is no 5G rugged smartphone on the market. Ulefone had already announced the Armor 6 5G version but was canceled as the MediaTek M70 5G modem didn’t make it to the market.
The just-announced Dimensity 1000 is the 3rd 5G SoC on the market and is manufactured with TSMC’s 7nm production process. It comes with the latest ARM Cortex-A77 cores operating at up to 2.6 GHz and -according to the company- the overall performance is even faster than Huawei’s new Kirin 990. The GPU used is Mali G77 and supports FHD+ displays up to 120Hz and 2K+ displays up to 90Hz.
As for the networks supported, Dimensity 1000 supports NSA/SA 5G networks and 5G two carrier aggregation (2CC CA), the downlink/uplink speeds are up to 4.7Gbps/2.5Gbps over sub-6GHz networks, 2 times higher than Kirin 990 SoC. Demensity 1000 is also the world’s first 5G flagship chipset which supports dual 5G SIM/dual standby, and it also integrates the latest Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1+ standards!
Also, coming with the world’s 1st five-core image signal processor (ISP), Dimensity 1000 supports 80MP cameras sensors at 24fps and a range of multi-camera options such as 32+16MP dual cameras. The rest of Ulefone’s new device specs are yet to be revealed. After all, it is too soon but judging from the company’s previous record in rugged phones, we believe that the upcoming 5G rugged phone will bring consumers an unprecedented rugged 5G experience.
Redmi, a subsidiary of Xiaomi, is a brand that has historically focused on releasing affordable to mid-range smartphones. This philosophy has led the company to gain massive success in Southeast Asian countries like China and India. However, earlier this year the company launched the Redmi K20 series which was its first true flagship contender, successfully. Now, the Redmi K30 series is just around the corner with 5G networking capabilities and it could feature MediaTek’s Dimensity 1000 5G SoC.
MediaTek Dimensity 1000 5G SoC
Lu Weibing, the Redmi General Manager, officially revealed that the 5G successor to Redmi K20 series will be the Redmi K30 series on his Weibo page. On the Chinese social microblogging website, the senior executive announced only the aforementioned features but didn’t divulge any finer details regarding the specifications of the upcoming flagship smartphone.
However, on his official Weibo account, Lu Weibing also congratulated MediaTek for the new Dimensity 1000 SoC. The chipset is the latest high-end mobile SoC from the MediaTek which is also capable of 5G networking. Previously, Redmi and MediaTek had partnered for the Redmi Note 8 Pro which featured the latter’s G90T SoC. Hence, the extension between business relations could very well see the Redmi K30’s Pro variant featuring the Dimensity 1000 SoC. On the other hand, the standard K30 variant may feature a 5G enabled Snapdragon 700 series processor from Qualcomm.
Interestingly, the device through which the congratulatory message was uploaded was from a Redmi K30 handset, further hinting towards the partnership.
Lu Weibing’s Official Post on Weibo
Notably, the move to MediaTek from Snapdragon also makes sense from a strategic standpoint. The Snapdragon 865 chipset is yet to be officially unveiled and considering the Redmi K30 series launches this December, MediaTek 1000 SoC is a viable alternative. Furthermore, Qualcomm’s high-end chipset generally has high demand owing to the fact that multiple major brands incorporating its processor in their flagship offerings. So, Redmi wouldn’t simply wait for the supply of the new generation of Qualcomm processors.
The MediaTek Dimensity 1000 5G is a really capable chipset. In fact, the scored over 500K on AnTuTu benchmark recently which isn’t surprising given its four Cortex-A77 power cores. And if Redmi decides to use this MTK chip inside the K30 Pro, it would mark yet another major win for the Taiwanese chipmaker, after making a comeback in the market with the Redmi Note 8 Pro earlier this year.
Being UMIDIGI’s latest flagship smartwatch, the UMIDIGI Uwatch GT will start global sales at a discounted price of $39.99 on AliExpress on Thanksgiving day (November 28th). Adopting a mainstream and modern design, it comes with 5ATM water resistance and clean UI, while providing real-time notifications and sports activity update to the user. But what makes it so different that someone would spend money on it? Let’s check out.
New premium dual-crown rounded display design
Moving away from the square design of the previous model, the Uwatch GT is suitable for both formal and sports occasions. Also, thanks to the two buttons (power button and function button) it is easier to operate.
5ATM water resistance
Of course, a modern smartwatch should offer protection against water and the Uwatch GT features 5ATM water resistance. This means that you can use it even if you dive 50 meters underwater (for 10 minutes)! In daily use, it is practically waterproof. Such a feature is found in other smartwatches on the market but with really expensive prices.
Up to two weeks’ battery life
The Achilles Heel of most smartwatches out there is the battery life. UMIDIGI is using Bluetooth 5.0 and other power-saving hardware to achieve one of the longest battery life for smartwatches out there. It can go on for up to 2 weeks even if you use the continuous heart rate monitoring as well as other basic features. It’s good to know that your smartwatch won’t turn off in the middle of the day or when you are exercising.
Continuous heart rate monitoring
Until recently, smartwatches didn’t come with continuous heart rate monitoring and the user had to trigger the function on his own. UMIDIGI stays up to date with the current features offered in the market so that you can monitor your heart status all day. The UWatch GT allows users to see their heart rate and monitor bradycardia and heart failure.
Smart sports mode
Featuring 12 sports modes that track what kind of activity the user is taking part in, such as running, cycling and more, UMIDIGI’s watch is Google Fit-enabled to give you credit for all your moves and provide a holistic view of your health.
Flagship features, budget price
The most important of all is its price tag. Unlike rival models with similar features that are asking for $150 or more, the UMIDIGI Uwatch GT will cost just $39.99 on Aliexpress during its global sales debut on Thanksgiving Day.
The sale will start on November 28th and will be valid until the end of Cyber Monday sales. To not miss the sale, you can add it to your cart on Aliexpress now. At the moment, most of the top Chinese brands like Xiaomi, Meizu, Huawei and Vivo, Razer,360 have at least a TWS earbud under their names. OPPO will join the trend soon but the market is largely dominated by Apple, so says the latest market data for Q3 2019 released by Counterpoint Research.
The data shows that the global market size for true wireless headsets reached 33 million units raking in USD 4.1 billion in revenue in Q3 2019. This figure represents a 22% QoQ growth, according to the findings of Counterpoint Research’s Hearables Market Tracker. The US accounted for the largest chunk of the market at 31%, with over 10 million units sold. This is the first time in a single quarter such massive sales would be recorded and is another testament to the growth of the segment. The world’s second-largest market China also saw some improvements with a 44% QoQ growth in Q3.
In terms of specific brands, Apple maintained its supersonic leadership of the market even though market shares fell from 53% in the previous quarter to 45%. Apple continued its leadership by growing sales of the second-generation AirPods. Xiaomi beat Samsung to clinch the second spot. Xiaomi’s rise from the fourth place is attributed to a rise in sales volume mainly from the Chinese market where the Redmi Airdots has seen massive patronage as a great budget product with a price point around $20. Samsung slipped to third place with a 6% share.
JBL and Beats completed the top 5 hearables brands, ranked fourth and fifth, respectively. The market share of their new premium models, such as the JBL TUNE 120 released in July, and Beats Powerbeats Pro in May, have increased significantly, boosted by favorable market reviews of sound quality and design by consumers. Amoi, a new Chinese brand, is also striking. Its F9 product has gained popularity, mainly from the Chinese domestic market. Amoi attained the global sixth position, surpassing QCY, the former leader in the low-end market.
Since new powerful models, such as Apple’s AirPods Pro, Amazon Echo Buds, Microsoft Surface Earbuds, and Jabra Elite 75t have recently been released, consumer interest is increasing. Given the recent growth momentum and the effect of year-end promotions, such as Singles’ Day, Black Friday and Christmas, the Q4 market is expected to show further high growth. Thus, Counterpoint Research expects the annual market to reach 120 million units in 2019.
