It looks like online shoppers are in for a treat as Blackview is holding a big promotion for the BV9600 Pro right now. For two weeks users have the chance to grab it at just $289.99 so if you are interested, visit the promotion page until September 25th.
Blackview’s rugged smartphones are very popular among outdoor enthusiasts and starting today, they can get not just another rugged phone but a flagship device. The BV9600 Pro comes with Helio P70 SoC and an AMOLED display, a world’s first for a rugged phone. The render of the device recently appeared online:
As seen in the video, the device sports a rugged body made of a glass sandwich with a metal frame in the middle. Of course, it features IP68/IP69K and MIL-STD-810G certifications meaning that it has gone through a series of 29 tests, including shock tests, vibration tests, and more.
On the processor side, the four big cores, Cortex-A73, now run at 2.1GHz. Meanwhile, the Mali-G72 MP3 GPU is now clocked at 900MHz. It claims to use up to 35% less power in popular games compared to the P60 and comes with Energy-Aware Scheduling+, a thermal management solution that promises to lower operating temperature by up to 4.5°C.
Besides the rugged specs, the BV9600 Pro also comes with a business design and has flagship features not very common among rugged phones like the 6.21″ AMOLED display with 19:9 aspect ratio and narrow bezels.
On the back of the device lies the dual camera with 16MP/8MP configuration and is supported by an AI Bokeh algorithm. The selfie shooter hosts an 8MP sensor and is capable of beautiful selfies. What’s more, the battery comes with a large, 5580mAh capacity and supports wireless charging as well as 12V/2A fast charging that can recharge the battery in 2 hours via the USB Type-C port.
Lastly, the phone sports NFC with Google Pay support and GPS+Glonass satellite positioning systems to effectively improve navigation accuracy even in complex urban environments.
On September 12 before China’s Mid-Autumn Festival, actor Huang Cancan came to the Xiaomi Mi TV office with gifts for the staff. Photos of the visit went up on Weibo, and that would’ve been it, but that’s not the case this time. Eagle-eyed Weibo netizens found that one of the images featured a rather interesting detail. One of the monitors featured an image showing that a new product would have “all around 8K support”.
At present, most models of Xiaomi Mi TVs have 4K resolutions. If a new Mi TV comes with an 8K resolution, then that firmly places it on the high-end of Xiaomi’s TV lineup. The last product to come out of Xiaomi’s TV factory was the Redmi TV, which had solidly mid-range pricing, so a new high-end Mi TV with a matching price-tag wouldn’t be a stretch.
We already know that Xiaomi will be launching a new Mi TV in India on September 17th. While we aren’t sure if a new 8K Mi TV will make an appearance there, we can’t rule out the possibility that it might happen. After all, what better way to announce 8K support than with official Netflix 8K content support?
It seems like the Chinese smart TV market is reaching a boiling point in terms of popularity. OnePlus is preparing to launch its maiden smart TV on September 26th with a premium offering, and Honor has already taken a deep dive with the Honor SmartVision. It would be interesting to see Xiaomi attempt to regain ground by being the first with 8K Mi TVs.

The tablets are Yoga Smart Tab and Smart Tab M8 but they are not classic tablets: thanks to a docking station and a kickstand, as well as the support to Google Assistant, they can turn into smart displays and hubs for your smart home appliances. There is not much to say about the new Lenovo Smart Display as there are already several devices of this kind in the market.

Garmin announced a lot of smartwatches at IFA 2019, but the Venu GPS is the most interesting one. It sports GPS connectivity, it supports music playback and it has a battery which lasts up to five days on a single charge (six hours if you use both GPS and music reproduction). It is compatible with both Android and iOS devices and it supports Garmin Pay. They are equipped with Intel Core 10th gen CPUs and the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 GPU. You can choose between Full HD and Ultra HD panels with 100% sRGB coverage. The new laptops are also equipped with SSD storage and up to 16 GB of dual channel RAM.
Sonos Move
Usually, smart speakers are not powered by batteries, but they can only be used thanks to an AC cable. Until now. During its IFA 2019 conference, Sonos launched its first portable smart speaker: its name is Sonos Move and, thanks to it, people will be able to bring their personal virtual assistant everywhere. It is powered by a battery which guarantees up to 10 hours of music playback on a single charge, but it can also be connected to your wall socket just like other smart speakers if you need. Sonos Move is waterproof and dust-resistant so that you can really bring it in every place. Thanks to the Trueplay technology the equalization is able to adapt to the environment. Sonos Move supports both Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, but it won’t be cheap: it will launch on September 24 with a €399 price tag.
Asus ProArt StudioBook
Just like Acer, even Asus unveiled a new line-up of notebook for professional artists and graphics at IFA 2019. It is the ProArt StudioBook series and it comes with complete support to DCI-P3 coverage, one of the most advanced image qualities and a secondary display called ScreenPad 2.0 included in the touchpad. The line-up consists of 5 different models with Intel Xeon CPUs and Nvidia Quadro RTX 5000 GPU, as well as ECC storage up to 128 GB.
Kirin 990
Kirin 990 can not be considered a “tech product” as it is just a chipset, but we mention it because it is the world’s first SoC with an integrated 5G modem to hit the market, as well as one of the most powerful mobile platforms out there. It will debut in a few weeks on the Huawei Mate 30 series which will be unveiled on September 19. If you want to know everything about the new Huawei’s flagship chipset, head to our dedicated article.
Xiaomi will be announcing the Mi CC9 smartphone outside China next week but when it arrives, it will be under a different name – the Mi 9 Lite.
It has been revealed that the Xiaomi Mi 9 Lite will be announced on Monday, September 16 in Spain. The announcement quells the rumors that the Mi CC9 will launch as the Mi A3 Pro outside China.
Before the announcement of the launch date, the device was already certified by Thailand’s NBTC last week. The certification revealed that the Mi 9 Lite shared a similar model number to the Mi CC9 sold in China.
Prior to that, a list of Google’s certified Android devices was the first to reveal that there is an upcoming device called the Mi 9 Lite and it has the same codename as the Mi CC9.
The Mi 9 Lite will have a 32MP selfie camera and a 48MP triple rear camera configuration. Other features include a 6.39-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 710 processor, 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of expandable storage. It will also have an 8MP ultrawide angle camera and a 2MP depth sensor on the back.
The phone will also have an in-display fingerprint scanner, NFC, an audio jack, and an FM radio. The Mi 9 Lite will pack a 4030mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging and will have Gorilla Glass 5 covering its display and its back. It will run Android 9 Pie out of the box
On September 5, Lenovo announced three of its new smartphones, the Lenovo A6 Pro, K10 Note and Z6 Pro in India. Two of the models, the A6 Note and Z6 Pro were scheduled to go on sale on September 11 while the K10 Note will hit store shelves on September 16. Indeed, both smartphones are now available to buy on Flipkart.
The A6 Pro comes with a price tag of INR7,999 ($110) and is available in 3GB+32GB memory configuration only. While the Z6 Pro hits India priced at INR33,999 ($475) and packing an 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.
Of course, the Lenovo Z6 Pro is on top of the pack with its flagship lineup. The device features a 6.39-inch S-AMOLED display with a waterdrop notch design. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset and utilises an in-display fingerprint scanner. The Z6 Pro has a 4,000mAh battery with a 27W charger inside the box.

Xiaomi’s recently launched Redmi Note 8 Pro is different than its predecessors in one major department. The company decided to use a MediaTek processor instead of the tried and tested Qualcomm processor. This could be a considerable gamble for Xiaomi but MediaTek India MD, Anku Jain, believes that the phone will help change the perception of consumers about the chipmaker.
“Once the Redmi Note 8 Pro comes out, and users see the great features and performance it delivers I think the mindset will change and the phone will do well in India as well, similar to China,” said Anku Jain while talking to India Today Tech recently. He believes that the MediaTek Helio G90T gaming-centric processor inside the Redmi Note 8 Pro will change the whole game for Xiaomi as well as MediaTek.
On paper, the G90T is a significant upgrade as compared to the Snapdragon 675 found inside the best-selling Redmi Note 7 Pro. In fact, it’s a gaming-centric processor that’s comparable to Qualcomm’s own Snapdragon 730G gaming chipset. The chip comes with several premium features such as dual Wi-Fi + LTE connectivity and a powerful GPU. So it is definitely a massive upgrade as compared to the past Snapdragon processors inside the Redmi Note series models. For those who are interested, we have covered the MediaTek Helio G90T vs. Snapdragon 730G extensively in a previous post.
Interestingly, MediaTek’s collaboration with Xiaomi has been fruitful in the past. The budget Redmi 6A has been the best selling smartphone in India for the past three consecutive quarters. And the phone features a MediaTek Helio A22 processor inside.
But there’s a vast difference between the Redmi 6A and the Redmi Note 8 Pro. The latter is expected to be a powerhouse, and it needs to deliver on its promise of a powerful gaming experience.
Will it live up to the expectations of the users? Only time will tell. But for now, things look good. The Redmi Note 8 Pro has sold over 300,000 units in its first sale.
The Mi MIX 4 may actually launch under a different name based on a ruling that prevents Xiaomi from using the MIX name. A new trademark application filed a few weeks ago reveals what the name of the phone may be and surprisingly, it still has “MIX” in it.
A document has surfaced online and it reveals that at the end of August, Xiaomi applied for a trademark application for the name Xiaomi MIX ALPHA.
The MIX Alpha may as well be the official name of the upcoming MIX flagship instead of Mi MIX 4.
Actually, this is not the first time we have heard of the name. Xiaomishka tweeted earlier this month that Xiaomi found a way to keep using the MIX name and that is by adding greek alphabets to the name.
Although the trademark application spells out “Alpha”, Xiaomi may also stylize it as Mi MIXα. But that is not all the document reveals.
It also shows that Xiaomi filed a trademark application for “Xiaomi Watch COLOR” early this month. This should be the name of an upcoming smartwatch we have not heard of before and might be a surprise product that would launch on September 24. Xiaomi is actually quite good at keeping certain products a secret and the very first Mi MIX smartphone is a perfect example.
The Xiaomi Watch COLOR should be the first Mi branded smartwatch by the company and we believe it will be made by Huami who manufactures the Mi Band for Xiaomi.
What do you think about the name Mi MIX ALPHA, Yay or Nay? Do let us know in the comment box.
Popular smartwatch maker Huami has officially launched the Amazfit GTR smartwatch for the Indian market. The Amazfit GTR should be the fourth smartwatch Huami has launched this year after the Amazfit Verge 2, Verge Lite and the Amazfit Health Watch. The Amazfit GTR comes ina 42mm and 47mm variants but only the 47mm version has been made available in India.
The Amazfit GTR 47mm packs a 1.39-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 454 x 454 pixels. The screen is covered by the Corning Gorilla 3 with anti-fingerprint (AF) coating. In terms of functions, it supports mobile phone calls, text messages, emails, calendars, social applications and other information reminders, and can also find mobile phones and control mobile phones to play music. The watch also supports contactless payment as it is equipped with a built-in NFC chip. It can also be used to unlock the smart door lock and other contactless services such as bus card.
In terms of battery life, the Amazfit GTR 47mm daily use mode lasts for 24 days, the basic watch mode is 74 days, and the GPS continues to work for more than 22 hours. The watch comes with three material variants adorned with three high-grade metals: titanium, stainless steel and aluminium. The titanium variant just went on sale in China so we doubt if it will be available immediately in China.
As for the price, the Huami Amazfit GTR 47mm smartwatch is priced at Rs. 10,999 ($154), which is for the aluminium and stainless steel models. The price is slightly higher than the 999 yuan ($140) price in China, perhaps because of customs duties and other import costs. The smartwatch will be available from Flipkart and Myntra starting Thursday, September 12. It comes in an array of colour such as Cherry Blossom Pink, Moonlight White, Starry Black, and Tan am.
Traditional timepieces were primarily designed to show time and date, whereas newfangled smartwatches do a lot more than just display time and date – it helps you lead a healthier lifestyle.

On Sept. 16, Motorola will be launching the Moto E6 Plus budget-friendly phone in India. Fresh information that has surfaced today reveals that the company will be launching its first Smart TV at the same event. It is being said that the Motorola TV will be exclusively sold through Flipkart.
The reason why Flipkart will be selling the TV exclusively in India is that the retailer will be manufacturing and assembling the upcoming Motorola branded TVs. In order to deliver smooth refresh rates, the Motorola TV will be equipped with MEMC technology. It will not only allow the TV to offer good viewing experience, but also there won’t be any choppiness while gaming. The Motorola TV is expected to run on Android 9 Pie TV OS and it could be fueled by MediaTek chipset with Mali 450 graphics.
The Motorola TV is also said to be equipped with a 30W front-firing soundbar powered with DTS TruSurround Sound and Dolby Audio technology for immersive audio experience. The soundbar will have the logo of the company positioned at its center. The other three bezels of the Motorola TV are said to be thin. The other specs of the Smart TV are under the specs. However, what’s known so far suggests that it may not be a budget-friendly product.
Flipkart will be carrying Big Billion Day sale on Sept. 29. Possibly, the Motorola TV will be available for purchase during the upcoming sale.

Apple is the indisputable king of the smartwatch industry with its sales reaching almost 50% of the total amount. On Tuesday, they released their newest model, Apple Watch Series 5 that, if it wasn’t for an always-on display, it would be a minuscule update. However, the battery life still sucks as the company hints less than a day’s life on a single charge.
The always-on display is definitely a nice feature but most users would prefer longer battery life, NFC, and wireless charging anytime. Well, Kospet is getting ready to release such a watch, Kospet Prime, and judging from the photos leaked earlier, it will sport NFC as well as wireless charging.
But that’s not the only advantages. According to information, the battery will be the biggest ever on a smartwatch at 1260mAh and will allow for up to 3 days of use or 7 days of standby on a single charge. Also, there will be two 8MP cameras that will allow for shooting photos and making video calls without the need of your smartphone. And it will support Face Unlock too!
Lastly, rumors talk about a 1.6″ round AMOLED display, bigger than other Kospet products like the Kospet Optimus Pro and Kospet Hope. What’s more, like in most of the company’s watches, memory configuration will be 3GB/32GB. If information is true, then we can’t wait to get one and test it in person!

According to the latest information coming from Honor, the Honor 9X Pro smartphone is about to get an upgraded AI Ultra Clear Mode, which is basically an algorithm that comprises of Super Resolution Reconstruction and AI HDR.
The new feature improves the resolution by super-resolution SR algorithm and the dynamic range of the image is further improved by the AI HDR algorithm. As per the report, compared to the normal mode, the improvement with this new feature is about 10 percent to 20 percent.
The Super Resolution Reconstruction combines multiple low-resolution images, and the sub-pixel displacement information between each pixel in the photos to estimate the missing points of the high-resolution image. Simply, multiple images with lower resolution are generated and combined to make a new high resolution image.
On the other hand, the AI HDR refers to AI-powered High Dynamic Range that is reflected in the photo which details the highlight and dark areas in the image. The larger the dynamic range, the richer the level and the AI HDR enhances the image through a deep learning network to achieve local dynamic range adjustment. This makes the picture look more natural and vivid.
The Honor 9X Pro comes with a metal and glass combination chassis and features an LTPS IPS LCD display of 6.59-inche. The notch-less display offers Full-HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9.

The sticker on the side reveals the Mate 30’s model number is TAS-AL00 and this version has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. This was the highest configuration available for last year’s Mate 20 but we can’t say if that will be the case again this year. Nevertheless, there should be support for storage expansion via Huawei’s proprietary Nano Memory card slot.
The box also shows the phone supports TD-LTE. Chances of a 5G version of the Mate 30 are slim, so don’t expect one.
The Mate 30 will have a smaller notch than the Mate 30 Pro, just like its predecessor last year. However, Huawei has switched from a waterdrop notch to a rectangular one if this photo of a leaked tempered glass is genuine. Inside the notch will sit two cameras.
The phone will be powered by Huawei’s new Kirin 990 processor. There are reports it will have support for fast charging this year and not via an add-on accessory like the Mate 20.
