Ayaneo is making a gaming smartphone that might slide like Xperia Play

Ayaneo has officially confirmed its entry into the smartphone market. At its 2025-2026 strategy briefing, the company announced plans to launch its first gaming smartphone, named the Ayaneo Phone. Alongside the phone, Ayaneo also introduced Konkr, a new sub-brand focused on affordable handheld gaming devices.

Ayaneo Phone

The Ayaneo Phone will mark the company’s first attempt at building a true gaming smartphone. Ayaneo stated that the device is “built for gamers” and will reflect the company’s handheld gaming design philosophy. Although the company has not revealed any technical specifications, teaser images and statements suggest that the phone will feature a sliding mechanism. Physical controls are expected to slide out from beneath the display, similar to Sony’s Xperia Play from 2011.

This move positions the Ayaneo Phone as a potential competitor to the Anbernic RG Slide, a recently launched handheld that also uses a sliding form factor. However, unlike Anbernic’s device, which lacks mobile network capabilities, the Ayaneo Phone will function as a full smartphone. The company has not confirmed a release date or price, but more information is expected in future livestreams and at the upcoming ChinaJoy 2025 event.

Ayaneo has also launched Konkr, a sub-brand aimed at delivering performance-focused handhelds at more affordable prices. The Konkr Pocket Fit will be the first Android-based handheld under this brand. It features a 6-inch 1080p display with a 144Hz refresh rate and will be powered by a flagship Qualcomm chipset. Ayaneo emphasized comfort and portability in the Pocket Fit’s design.

In addition to the Android model, Ayaneo is preparing the Konkr Fit, a Windows-based handheld that includes a large 80Wh battery. It will feature a 7-inch display and is designed to deliver flagship-level performance in a compact form factor.

Ayaneo also previewed other devices during the livestream, including the dual-screen Pocket DS and a vertical Game Boy-style handheld. The company has positioned itself as a serious competitor in both premium and mid-range handheld gaming categories and is now expanding its footprint into the smartphone segment with a hardware approach tailored to gamers.

Ayaneo unveils Pocket DS, the world’s first dual-screen clamshell Android handheld

Ayaneo has officially announced the Pocket DS, a new Android-powered handheld that features a dual-screen clamshell design. The company claims it is the first of its kind in the Android gaming space. Pre-orders are now open, with pricing details expected in August. The device will make its public debut at the Qualcomm Snapdragon booth during ChinaJoy 2025 in Shanghai.

Ayaneo Pocket DS

The Ayaneo Pocket DS features a 7-inch OLED main display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and support for refresh rates up to 165Hz. The screen reaches a peak brightness of 800 nits and covers 150% of the sRGB and 90% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. The secondary display measures 5 inches and offers a 1024×768 resolution in a 4:3 aspect ratio. It supports 100% sRGB, 120% color gamut volume, and a brightness of up to 550 nits.

The handheld is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 platform. Ayaneo has included a PC-grade turbo fan cooling system and an 8000mAh battery. The device includes a USB-C port with full PD fast charging support. The outer shell uses a CNC-machined metal build and features a hinge that allows flexible screen angles. The controls include TMR joysticks, Hall-effect linear triggers, a traditional d-pad, and ABXY buttons.

Ayaneo Pocket DS

Ayaneo has developed custom dual-screen software for the Pocket DS that lets users run two apps independently, switch content between screens with a three-finger swipe, and activate a single-screen mode to save battery. It supports multitasking scenarios like gaming on one screen while watching videos or using guides on the other, and can even run two games simultaneously.

The device was revealed during a livestream, where CEO Arthur Zhang shared a preview of a working prototype. The company confirmed that mass production has already started. The Pocket DS was one of several new products shown, alongside the Ayaneo Pocket Vert and the budget-friendly Pocket Fit, which will launch under Ayaneo’s new sub-brand Konkr.

In related news, Ayaneo recently launched the Pocket S2 and Pocket S2 Pro gaming handhelds, featuring a detachable D-pad and a 10,000mAh battery.

Whether you’re a beginner, hobbyist, or professional, this machine offers speed, precision, and safety, all in a compact, enclosed design ideal for home or workshop use. Let’s explore its key features in more detail.

Dual Laser Modules for Maximum Flexibility

One of the biggest strengths of the Falcon A1 Pro is its interchangeable laser system. It includes both a 20W blue diode laser and a 2W infrared (IR) laser, making it suitable for over 350 types of materials. The 20W module handles common materials like wood, acrylic, leather, and glass with high cutting and engraving power. Meanwhile, the 2W IR laser focuses on ultra-precise engraving on metals like gold, silver, titanium, and stainless steel, perfect for jewelry, cards, and photo etching. The IR laser spot is only 0.03mm, ensuring ultra-HD results.

Instant Autofocus with High Precision

The Falcon A1 Pro features a built-in AI vision system with autofocus technology. It uses a red dot laser and a camera to focus automatically in just 3 seconds, achieving measurement accuracy of less than ±0.012″ (or 0.3mm). This ensures that your design is always sharp and precise without manual adjustments.

Built-In Smart HD Camera

The top-view HD camera on the A1 Pro offers a live preview of the work area. This allows you to place your designs with accuracy and trace physical drawings or handwritten doodles directly. It also supports batch engraving, automatically detecting and engraving multiple objects in one go. This feature is ideal for creating personalized gifts or production runs.

App Control and IoT Integration

With the Falcon Design app, you can remotely monitor your projects in real time. Whether you’re in another room or multitasking elsewhere, the app gives you control and peace of mind. It also integrates AI-powered flame detection, stopping the machine instantly if a flame is detected, and sends an alert to your phone.

Safety First for Home Use

The A1 Pro offers uncompromising safety features. Its Class 1 laser safety design includes an enclosed build with a protective cover that blocks harmful light. Dual flame detection, an infrared sensor, and a top-mounted vision sensor monitor every angle. There’s also an emergency stop button, and the system halts automatically if the lid is opened mid-operation. Dual fans and an air filter keep your space clean from smoke and fumes.

Fast and Efficient Operation

Speed is where the Falcon A1 Pro shines; it reaches up to 600mm/s, making it up to three times faster than many competitors. This high-speed capability does not compromise quality or stability, ensuring reliable performance even during complex tasks.

Easy-to-Use Touchscreen Interface

Controlling the A1 Pro is smooth and intuitive thanks to its smart touchscreen interface. You can access recent files, monitor the live engraving process, and start projects directly from your phone using the app. The screen makes the entire workflow more visual and efficient.

Tool-Free Laser Module Swap

Swapping between the 20W and 2W laser modules is incredibly easy. The design includes a double-wire buckle that lets you slide, press, and go, no tools needed. It’s faster than brewing a cup of coffee, saving time and hassle when switching between tasks.

MediaTek Dimensity chips are finally catching up in emulating PC game on Android

Android phones have long been capable of emulating older PC games, but performance often hinged on whether the device ran a Snapdragon chip with an Adreno GPU. That’s starting to change. GameSir has just rolled out a major update to its GameHub emulator that dramatically improves support for MediaTek Dimensity devices—especially those powered by Mali GPUs.

According to a recent announcement from GameSir, the latest GameHub update brings full support for Dimensity 9000 through 9400 chips. The update introduces key optimizations for DirectX9 to DirectX11 emulation, with the company claiming performance now rivals—and in some cases even surpasses—Snapdragon’s Adreno graphics.

This is a big leap for Mali GPUs, which have historically struggled with game emulation due to spotty Vulkan support, unstable shader compilers, and incomplete driver features. GameSir tackled those issues head-on by building a new code conversion system that efficiently translates DirectX instructions for Mali hardware. They also added runtime-level optimizations to work around known driver limitations. The company has also reportedly added “native support” for 32-bit PC games.

Phones like the Vivo X200, Oppo Find X8, and the iQOO Neo10 Pro (China) —powered by the Dimensity 9400—should now handle PC games far better than before. GameSir is also working with MediaTek on custom GPU drivers that could further close the gap between Mali and Adreno performance, especially in their upcoming GameFusion platform.

Interestingly, this work could also benefit Google’s Pixel devices, which have used Mali GPUs in the past. However, with the Pixel 10 series expected to switch to Imagination GPUs, the long-term impact remains to be seen.

With this GameHub update, MediaTek’s Dimensity chips may finally be ready to power serious gaming on Android. Whether you’re looking to revisit old PC classics or push the limits of mobile emulation, your next budget-friendly Android might just surprise you.

Best Pre‑Owned Flagship Smartphones Worth Buying in 2025

If you’re looking for a flagship grade phone without breaking the bank, buying an older model during festive discounts or deals is a smart move. But with pre-owned models, these premium devices basically become a steal deal. So here’s a short list of the best flagship smartphones you can buy in the US that are worth it in 2025.

1. Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra

galaxy-s23-ultra-camera
Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra

Samsung is widely considered to offer one of the best and most premium experiences in the Android segment with its strong cross platform ecosystem and great custom Android skin. The Galaxy S23 Ultra was the brand’s top flagship model in 2023, offering cutting edge specs and great hardware overall.

So why should you pick this one? The camera system hasn’t changed much in the last few years, so there’s only a minor difference with even the latest S25 Ultra. So you still get great zoom shots and a large 200MP main camera. It packs the older but still powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, features long software support, and a great display. One can even get their hands on a refurbished model for around $500, so a pre-owned model would be even more affordable.

2. Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max

Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max

Samsung’s biggest competitor in the US market is Apple, and the iPhone 15 Pro Max is the direct rival to the S23 Ultra. Historically speaking, iPhones usually retain their values the best even in the second hand market. So buying even a pre-owned model and upgrading later on is still worth it, especially for a top-end flagship iPhone.

A used iPhone 15 Pro Max can be in the range of around $700, depending on the variant. For this money, you get a 120Hz OLED display on an iPhone, the power A17 Pro chip, and a great and consistent set of cameras. Rounding off the list is the premium build quality that uses materials like titanium.

3. Google Pixel 8 Pro

Google Pixel 8 Pro

If you love photography, you’ve probably heard great things about Google’s Pixel smartphones. With the Pixel 10 series around the corner and Pixel 9 being the current gen models, the Pixel 8 Pro is available at a steep discount in the pre-owned market.

Depending on the platform, Google’s top phone from 2023 can be purchased for a mid range cost of under $500 in the US. While its chipset isn’t the most powerful in the market, you’re not missing out on much if you don’t game often on the Pixel 8 Pro and use it primarily for photography.

4. OnePlus 12

OnePlus 12 deal

The OnePlus 12 was already a solid deal when it first made its debut. But over time, the Chinese brand’s older flagship is even sweeter. For around $500, you get the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, making it the fastest Android phone in this list. The front has a tall 120Hz AMOLED display, while the rear has a triple camera setup that offers a good photography experience as well. It also packs the largest battery pack here, with super fast charging for an added experience.

Battlefield 6 Gets 500K Wishlists on Steam, But Gamers Hold the Line on Pre-Orders

After a long wait, EA finally dropped the trailer for DICE’s next Battlefield title. Battlefield 6 is the long awaited entry in the popular military shooter franchise, and the hype behind this game is still building. The game has already amassed an impressive number of Steam wishlists, but fans of the series are still skeptical.

Half a Million Gamers Wishlist Battlefield 6, But Fans Say: No Pre-Orders

It was recently revealed that over 500,000 gamers worldwide had hit “add to Wishlist” for Battlefield 6 on Steam. All the leaks, rumors, and trailers so far have revived interest in the series, as many see the game as a proper successor to Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4, which are widely considered the peak of the series. But despite the great reception of the video, and growing hype behind the game on Steam, pre-orders for Battlefield 6 seem a little shaky at the moment.

Battlefield 6
Battlefield 6: Will Gamers Hold the Line?

In a typical AAA video game fashion, the studio/publisher drops the trailers months ahead of launch and garners attention and hype. Soon after, the pre-orders kick off, hoping that gamers believe in the promises a short video offers. The current reputation of AAA games on release date has made many hesitant to pre-order games in general, with Battlefield 6 being no exception. To recall, Battlefield 2042 had a disastrous launch, with numerous bugs, performance issues, matchmaking problems, lack of content, and much more.

Due to this, fans of the Battlefield series are unsure about whether EA (voted multiple times as the worst company ever) can turn the franchise around in the direction gamers want. If you go to any social media post related to Battlefield 6, you’ll see the words “Remember. No Pre-Orders”, which is a play on the iconic quote from COD Modern Warfare 2’s Makarov (Remember. No Russian).

In other words, gamers are constantly reminding one another about the failures of the previous entry and are called to hold the line against pre-orders this time around. EA hasn’t revealed the pre-order figures yet, and this movement might not have the desired effect. But it would be interesting to see whether gamers actually manage to have a meaningful impact against a giant in the gaming industry.

Dangbei S7 Ultra Max

Dangbei S7 Ultra Max Specifications

The S7 Ultra Max is positioned as a high-end 4K home theater projector. It uses a triple-color RGB laser light source and DLP technology, paired with a 0.47-inch DMD chip.

According to Dangbei, the projector achieves 100% coverage of Display P3, DCI-P3, and BT.2020 color spaces. It has a native contrast ratio of 8000:1 and can reach up to 150,000:1 dynamic contrast through the company’s DynamicX deep black algorithm.

The projector supports multiple high-dynamic range formats, including Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HDR Vivid, and DTS:X. Dangbei has equipped the S7 Ultra Max with its proprietary ELRS Eclipse optical engine.

This setup includes 48 laser units, 17 custom optical lenses, and an eight-layer anti-speckle diffusion module to minimize visual artifacts. The lens system features an optical zoom range of 0.98:1 to 1.6:1, which allows for flexible projection sizes between 80 and 300 inches.

Talking about the cooling system, Dangbei says the full-link liquid cooling solution improves thermal efficiency by 50% compared to traditional air-cooled projectors. The system also reduces operational noise to as low as 24dB.

New Galaxy S26 Pro & S26 Edge May Have Samsung Kill the Base Models

Samsung might be planning a big surprise for its next series of flagships. While initial rumors had hinted at the Galaxy S26+ model being replaced, a new rumor suggests that even the compact base S26 is being replaced in favor of a new Galaxy S26 Pro. So here’s everything you need to know.

Is Samsung Killing the Galaxy S25 & S25+ for a New S26 Pro and Edge?

The South Korean tech giant is apparently working on a S25 Edge successor that would replace the Galaxy S26+. This Galaxy S26 Edge will feature a similarly sized display but with a thinner body while bumping the battery size. Now, AndroidAuthority‘s latest report claims that the standard Galaxy S26 is being replaced with a new Galaxy S26 Pro.

Galaxy S25 Edge
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge

So the lineup will still consist of three devices (unlike the S25 family) with an S26 Pro, an S26 Edge, and a flagship S26 Ultra. The report adds that they found evidence in the One UI 8 internal build, which hints that no base models are planned for Samsung’s 2026 flagship lineup. In the past, Samsung had associated codenames that correspond to different flagship phones (like the S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra).

However, the latest M1, M2, and M3 internal names refer to a new S26 Pro, S26 Edge, and S26 Ultra, with no mention of the base and Plus models. As of right now, it remains unclear whether this is a simple rebranding strategy or if Samsung plans to update the standard version to be more in line with the expensive options for the Galaxy S series. This is still just an unconfirmed report, so take this with a pinch of salt and stick around for more.

Galaxy S26 Ultra Tipped to Be Thinner Than Ever Before

Over the last couple of flagship generations, Samsung has stuck to refining the design of its premium Galaxy S series devices. The tweaks have made the high end smartphones lighter and thinner, without losing the easily recognizable looks. This philosophy will continue for the next gen flagships as well, but Samsung could be planning to make the Galaxy S26 Ultra its sleekest phone yet.

Galaxy S26 Ultra Could Be Samsung’s Slimmest Ultra Yet

Apart from the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+, the thinnest phone from Samsung is the Galaxy S25 Edge. This model packs the S25 Ultra’s camera and top end chipset, but has a battery even smaller than the tiny S25. While its predecessor is expected to fix on this issue, the brand is reportedly working on making its Ultra series phones thinner as well.

Galaxy S25 Ultra with S Pen
Galaxy S25 Ultra with S Pen

In a tweet from Ice Universe, the South Korean tech giant is planning on making the Galaxy S26 Ultra measure around 7.Xmm thin. The post also adds that the top Samsung flagship is also shedding a few grams. So despite its tall display size, it might become a little more convenient to use. This might also explain other rumors of the phone, which claimed that the S26 Ultra isn’t getting a battery capacity bump despite leaks suggesting faster charging speeds.

Furthermore, we have already covered the rest of the info on the tweet from the known tipster. This includes a new CoE OLED display, improved 200MP ISOCELL HP2+ main camera, and Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 for Galaxy. Keep in mind that this is still just an unconfirmed report at the moment, so take this news with a grain of salt.

Galaxy S26’s Exynos 2600 to tackle overheating with new HPB technology

Samsung may finally have an answer to one of the biggest criticisms of its Exynos chips: overheating. The company is reportedly working on a new thermal solution for its upcoming Exynos 2600, which is expected to debut with the Galaxy S26 series. Called Heat Path Block (HPB), this new technology could mark a major step forward in Exynos 2600’s thermal control.

The HPB design uses a tiny copper-based heatsink integrated directly above the processor and memory within the chip’s package-on-package structure. By leveraging copper’s excellent thermal conductivity, it aims to dissipate heat more effectively than the chip packaging material on the Exynos 2500. It’s a technique that borrows from the cooling designs commonly used in PCs and servers.

The result? Better sustained performance during heavy workloads — something Samsung’s in-house chips have struggled with for years.

Samsung plans to wrap up testing by October, and if things go well, mass production could begin shortly after—just in time for the Galaxy S26 lineup. The Exynos 2600 itself is being built on a 2nm Gate-All-Around (GAA) process and is expected to feature a deca-core CPU (1+3+6 layout) along with the new Xclipse 960 GPU, which may be an in-house design.

Compared to its predecessor, the Exynos 2500, the 2600 reportedly aims to deliver a significant improvement in performance, especially in demanding AI tasks. The Galaxy S26 Ultra is likely to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 worldwide, but with this new cooling tech, the Exynos-powered base model might finally close the performance gap. Exynos 2600 is expected to power the base model in most markets worldwide, excluding the US and China.

Xiaomi 16 Pro Max specs leak: 50MP SmartSens camera, 7500mAh battery, 100W charging

Hot on the heels of yesterday’s news around the Xiaomi 16 Ultra and its rumored DSLR-style continuous zoom, a new leak has now revealed details about the Xiaomi 16 Pro Max.

According to a now-deleted post by reliable tipster Digital Chat Station, the 16 Pro Max could pack a large, flat 2K OLED display that combines LTPO and LIPO technology.

LTPO (Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Oxide) enables variable refresh rates for smoother performance and better efficiency, while LIPO (Low-Injection Pressure Over-Molding) is a display manufacturing process that helps shave down bezel thickness.

Xiaomi 16 Pro Max to feature SmartSens sensor

Camera-wise, the leak suggests the phone will sport a triple 50MP setup, with a 50MP SmartSens 590 sensor leading the pack. The sensor reportedly measures 1/1.28″, supports LOFIC 2.0 for improved dynamic range, and is built on a 22nm process, which should enhance power efficiency. Also onboard is a 50MP GN8 periscope lens (around 1/1.95″) expected to offer 5x optical zoom.

As for the battery, the 16 Pro Max is rumored to pack a massive 7,500mAh cell with 100W fast charging, the largest battery in the Xiaomi 16 lineup. For context, the Xiaomi 16 Ultra might top out at 7,000mAh.

Under the hood, the phone will reportedly run the second-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite, paired with Android 16 and Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3.0.

One particularly interesting addition this generation could be the rumored secondary screen on the back of the phone. Rumor has it that the 16 Pro Max will integrate this display into the camera island.

Xiaomi has experimented with rear displays before, like on the Mi 11 Ultra, but this version could offer a more refined take on the concept.

Oppo K13 Turbo Pro Teased With Gaming Aesthetics

The Chinese tech giant dropped a fresh teaser on Flipkart, confirming its e-commerce availability and showcasing the bold design of the K13 Turbo Pro. Gaming over a long period of time can generate a lot of heat, so many smartphones lower their performance/throttle to keep thermals in check. However, an active cooling system with a fan allows for longer sustained performance, which can be key in online games. While the brand has yet to officially announce the Oppo K13 Turbo series in India, the duo have already made their debut in the Chinese market last week.

To recall, the Redmi K13 Turbo Pro sports a tall 6.8-inch LTPS OLED display with a 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. Under the hood, it is equipped with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4. A massive 7,000mAh battery pack powers this model, which supports 80W wired fast charging. Other notable features include IPX9 + IPX8 + IPX6 water resistance, a plastic middle frame, an IR blaster, Android 15, stereo speakers, and more.

Honor reportedly enters NPI stage for its 10,000mAh battery phone

Big batteries have quietly become the next frontier in mid-range phones. Starting early this year, we began seeing a wave of smartphones with 7,000mAh cells. By mid-year, Honor launched the X70 with an even larger 8,300mAh battery.

Now, it looks like 10,000mAh might be the next stop.

Digital Chat Station, a frequent source of smartphone hardware leaks, tipped earlier this month that some phone makers are already preparing to test 10,000mAh batteries in mid-range models next year.

That wouldn’t be unusual if the phones were bulky. However, the tipster claims these devices could stay under 8.5mm thick, thinner than many current models with far smaller batteries.

Honor Power 2?

Today, he posted an update saying that one such phone has entered the NPI (New Product Introduction) stage, meaning it’s likely past early prototyping. While the specific model hasn’t been confirmed, commenters on Weibo were quick to suggest it might be the upcoming Honor Power 2.

Honor may also be in the best position to pull this off. Back in April, it introduced a new Power series, starting with the Honor Power, which packed an 8,000mAh Qinghai Lake battery.

The cell uses high-silicon tech with over 10% silicon content and an energy density of 821Wh/L. These are the figures that allowed Honor to keep the size reasonable while pushing capacity. The phone launched in China with a starting price of 1,999 yuan, or 1,699 yuan with government subsidies.

It’s not clear yet when, or if, the 10,000mAh Honor Power 3 will be officially announced. But since the device is now tipped to have entered the NPI stage, it could show up sometime in early 2026.

Xiaomi’s Robot Vacuum Mop 5 Pro debuts with AI-powered cleaning and 23,000Pa suction

Xiaomi has launched its latest smart cleaning device — the Mijia Robot Vacuum Mop 5 Pro — a powerful new vacuum designed to make home maintenance easier and smarter than ever. With powerful suction, AI-based object recognition, and a self-cleaning dock, this vacuum aims to take the hassle out of everyday cleaning tasks.

This vacuum mop delivers up to 23,000Pa of suction power and features dual robotic arms for simultaneous sweeping and mopping. It’s equipped with advanced AI and three panoramic cameras that help it recognize over 200 types of objects and 47 different dirt categories, allowing it to clean more efficiently and avoid common obstacles.

Its redesigned base can handle self-cleaning with 80°C ironing, hot-air drying, and re-washing triggered by dirty water detection — all while collecting dust for up to 75 days without manual intervention. The water supply version adds automatic water refills and detergent dispensing for extra convenience.

This vacuum cleaner integrates with Xiaomi’s smart ecosystem via XiaoAi and HyperOS Connect, enabling voice control, app-based cleaning schedules, and the ability to set no-go zones or link up with other smart home devices.

The Mijia 5 Pro comes in two versions: a standard model with a water tank and another with built-in water supply and drainage. Prices start at ¥4,999 (around $695), but discounts on JD.com and additional subsidies for digital home appliances in the home country can bring the price down to as low as ¥3,399 (roughly $473). That makes it one of the more advanced robot vacuums in its price range.

With the Mijia Robot Vacuum Mop 5 Pro, Xiaomi looks to offer an all-in-one solution for modern households looking to upgrade their cleaning routines. Between the AI-powered navigation, powerful suction, and self-maintaining dock, this could be one of the brand’s most complete smart home devices yet.
