Samsung had launched the Galaxy M30 smartphone in India in February. Recent reports have revealed that a new edition of the smartphone is in works and it may debut in the market as Galaxy M30s. A new report by MySmartPrice reveals that the Galaxy M30s will go official in India soon and it will release in colors like Blue, Black and White.
The Galaxy M30 comes in Blue and Black colors, but the Galaxy M30s will be arriving in an additional color of White. The report has no information on the exact launch date, but only mentions that it will be debuting soon. Probably, the smartphone may go official in the third quarter of the year.
The Galaxy M30s was recently spotted with SM-M307F model number of Geekbench. It revealed instead of the Exynos 7904 chipset that powers the Galaxy M30, the M30s will be coming with more powerful Exynos 9610 chipset which also fuels the Galaxy A50 smartphone. The SoC will be coupled with 4 GB of RAM and it will deliver Android 9 Pie out of the box experience.
Previous leaks have claimed that the Galaxy M30s will be releasing models like 64 GB and 128 GB storage. The handset may retain the 15W fast charging enabled 5,000mAh battery found on the Galaxy M30 phone. Nothing else is known on the specs of the Galaxy M30s.
The Galaxy M30 with 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage is priced at Rs. 17,990 in India whereas the Galaxy M40 with the same RAM and storage is selling for Rs. 19,990. The Galaxy M30s is speculated to be positioned between the M30 and M40. Hence, there is a possibility that the 6 GB + 128 GB Galaxy M30 may receive a price cut before the M30s goes official.
In related news, the publication claims that Samsung India will be also debuting a new color variant of Prism Silver for the Galaxy S10+ in the country. The new color model of the S10+ was made available in some markets earlier this month.
Earlier this month, Samsung launched its fourth Galaxy M-series smartphone in the Indian market — Samsung Galaxy M40. This is also the lineup’s first device to come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset instead of the company’s own Exynos processor.
A couple of weeks ago, the smartphone went on sale in India for the first time through Amazon India and Samsung’s official online stores. Now, the company has made the phone available for purchase via open sale. So, you no longer need to wait for the sale date in order to purchase the Galaxy M40 smartphone.
The Samsung Galaxy M40 is priced at Rs. 19,990 which roughly converts to $286. It is available for purchase in India in two different color options — Midnight Blue and Seawater Blue gradient.
The smartphone features a 6.3-inch Full-HD+ Infinity-O Display with 2340 x 1080 pixels screen resolution, a contrast ratio of 1200:1, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, and 480 nits of brightness. The device has ditched the speaker and comes with Screen Sound Technology that pumps out sounds by vibrating the screen.
Under the hood, the handset is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 octa-core processor, paired with Adreno 612 GPU and 6 GB of RAM. As said, this is the first Galaxy M-series smartphone to come powered by the Qualcomm chipset instead of the company’s own Exynos SoC.
It packs 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage and also has a microSD card slot that supports memory expansion of up to 512GB. On the back side, there’s a fingerprint sensor for added security.
For taking selfies and video calling, the smartphone has a 16-megapixel sensor at the front. The phone features a triple rear camera setup that comprises a 32-megapixel primary sensor with an AI scene optimizer and f/1.7 lens, a 5-megapixel secondary depth sensor, and an 8-megapixel tertiary sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens.
Connectivity options on the device include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, and a USB Type-C port. The handset is running Android 9 Pie-based Samsung One UI out-of-the-box and is powered by a 3,500mAh battery with support for fast charging.
Earlier this year, Realme had launched Realme 3 and Realme 3 Pro smartphones in India. The Realme 3 Pro was introduced as Realme X Lite in China along with the Realme X phone that came with a notch-less display and pop-up selfie snapper. While Realme fans in India are eagerly waiting for the arrival of Realme X smartphone in the country, Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth has confirmed through a tweet that the company will be launching India’s first smartphone with 64-megapixel camera.
Sheth’s tweet has not revealed the name of the 64-megapixel camera phone. However, it has been described as the “new premium killer.” The mysterious smartphone will be equipped with Samsung’s 64-megapixel GW1 largest 1/1.72 sensor that has a big pixel size of 1.6micron. The tweet that carries the following camera sample further states that it can shoot amazing clear shots in low-light conditions.
The below image has a “64MP AI Quad Camera” watermark which confirms that the phone will be featuring four rear-facing cameras. It will be the first Realme phone to feature four rear-mounted camera sensors. Could it be the Realme 4 Pro or an entirely new device? Whatever the device may be called, the company will be launching it first in India before anywhere else.
No other details of the mysterious Realme phone with 64MP quad camera is available yet. Last year, the Realme 2 was announced in August and the Realme 2 Pro was made official in September. Hence, the Realme 4 and Realme 4 Pro are expected to release around the same time this year.
Realme is not the only company that is working on a 64-megapixel camera smartphone. Recent reports have revealed that Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi is also working on a 64-megapixel phone. However, there is no confirmation on the name device, and it is not known whether it will be featuring a quad camera setup. Recently, a tipster had claimed one of the upcoming Galaxy A-series phones will also feature a 64-megapixel camera.
What do you think about the 64MP camera phone’s image sample shared by Sheth? Sheth will be sharing more camera samples of the mysterious Realme soon.
Huawei re-entered the India market last year with the introduction of Huawei P20 series. The Chinese firm has since then launched devices such as Huawei Nova 3 series, Huawei Y9 (2019) and Huawei Watch GT. The company also plans to launch the Huawei Mate X foldable phone in India in the near future. Leaked information shared by reliable tipster Ishan Agarwal reveals Huawei is planning to enter the tablets market in India. He has also shared images of the first tablet that will be heading to the country without mentioning its name.
The images show that the first Huawei tablet for India will have thick bezels around the display. It will be equipped with a front-facing camera and a rear-mounted snapper. The tablet is shown in Black color. The wallpaper shown in the image and design of the tablet suggest that it could be MediaPad T5 tablet that was introduced last year in August in China.
The Huawei MediaPad T5 has a 10.1-inch IPS LCD panel that produces full HD resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. It is loaded with Android 8.0 Oreo OS and GPU Turbo technology. The older Kirin 659 chipset is present under the hood of the tablet with up to 3 GB of RAM. It has a rear camera of 5-megapixel and a front camera of 2-megapixel. It is packed with a 5,100mAh battery. The tablet was introduced in Black and Champagne Gold color options.
In the last week, Huawei had launched the MediaPad M6 series of tablets in China. The 10.8 and 8.4-inch MediaPad M6 tablets are flagship devices powered by Kirin 980 chipset and 4 GB of RAM. They are equipped with big batteries and quad speakers. It appears that the company may want to launch mid-range tablets in India before releasing models with flagship specs.
Coming back to MediaPad T5, its Wi-Fi only versions such as 3 GB RAM + 32 GB storage and 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage were respectively unveiled in China with 1,399 Yuan (~$203) and 1,599 Yuan price tags (~$232). The 6 GB RAM + 64 GB storage’s LTE model was introduced in the home market with a price tag of 1,799 Yuan (~$261). If the MediaPad T5 arrives in India, it could be coming with a starting price of less than Rs. 15,000.
It’s already known that China-based smartphone maker OnePlus has been working on a smart TV which the company is internally calling OnePlus TV. It was announced by OnePlus CEO Pete Lau last year.
After the revelation that the company is working on OnePlus TV, there has been no update regarding this smart TV. Now, it seems that the company is finally ready to launch the product. According to the report from leakster Ishan Agarwal, OnePlus TV launch in “not very far away”. However, he has not provided any more details regarding the launch.
Earlier, when the company announced that it is working on a Smart TV, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau said that the company is targeting mid-2019 to launch the product. However, later he said that the launch could get pushed to 2020. But the latest development seems to suggest that the earlier estimate is right and the OnePlus TV could get launched in the coming months.
The company has already said that the smart TV from OnePlus will be unlike the television sets available in the market today. OnePlus is planning to introduce a smart TV that will run on its own AI engine. The TV will be able to easily communicate with a smartphone and become smarter with time, thanks to its AI integration.
Further, the TV will also have a way to seamlessly connect with the smartphone, enabling it to show reminders and traffic information among others. There will be a built-in camera as well. In addition, Pete Lau said that the company will also have a solution for the concerns related to the home-privacy.
During the launch of OnePlus 7 series smartphones in Bengaluru, India, Vikas Gupta, India Head for OnePlus said that the OnePlus TV is the company’s next focus for the Indian market, without revealing any more information. This hints that whenever the OnePlus TV gets launched, India will be among the first countries to get it.

Samsung faced some troubles related to the Galaxy Fold smartphone ahead of its launch and the company decided to postpone the sales of its first foldable smartphone. While the South Korean giant is yet to officially start sales, Russian manufacturer Caviar has launched three limited edition variants of the Galaxy Fold.
Out of the three new variants, one of them is Samsung Galaxy Fold Game of Thrones Edition, inspired by the American fantasy series Game of Thrones. The other two variants are Leather and Carbon. Almost everything on the limited edition smartphone is the same as the standard Galaxy Fold, except that it comes with a custom Game of Thrones skin on the GoT edition.
The Game of Thrones Edition of Samsung Galaxy Fold features big houses from the Seven Kingdoms, figures of dragons and towers of the palace, and engraved map of Westeros. The company has made just seven units of this edition and it has gifted one unit to Game of Thrones writer George Martin.
If you are a fan of Game of Thrones and want to own this limited edition device, get ready to shell out an insane amount of money. The Samsung Galaxy Fold Game of Thrones Edition is priced at $8,180, which is four times the cost of the standard edition.
The standard Samsung Galaxy Fold is priced at $1,980 and is expected to soon get launched. The company has reportedly fixed the display-related issues and is all set to officially commence the phone’s sales.
The Samsung Galaxy Fold smartphone presents a 7.3-inch Infinity Flex Display with a 1536 x 2152 resolution. In this mode, you can use three apps at the same time which Samsung calls Three-app Multitasking.
When folded into phone mode, it offers a 4.6-inch 840 x 1960 display. It comes with a feature called App Continuity which automatically adjust an app when you switch screens. It is powered by a 7nm processor paired with 12GB of RAM.

In the previous week, Xiaomi had confirmed the arrival of the new CC series in partnership with Meitu. Some leaks have already revealed that the first phones in the new series will called Xiaomi Mi CC9 and Mi CC9e. The rumor mill had been speculating that the launch date of the Mi CC9 series is around the corner. Today, the Chinese manufacturer has confirmed through Weibo that it will be holding a launch event on July 2 to unleash the first Mi CC series phone.
The below image states that the Mi CC series launch event will be held at 7 PM (local time) on July 2 in Beijing, China. The smartphones in the CC series are developed by the Chic & Cool 90 team. After Mi and Redmi, the CC series will be the third smartphone brand from the company.
The phones from Xiaomi CC series will be designed by art students and will be aimed towards the youth. Some reports have claimed that the company may some female oriented phones in the CC series. Hence, it appears that the CC series will include aesthetically pleasing smartphones. The number 9 in CC9 denotes the age of the Chinese firm.
The Mi CC lineup will carry impressive photography capabilities since they will be powered by imaging algorithms from “Xiaomi X Meitu AI Aesthetics Lab.” Hence, the upcoming CC9 and CC9e phones may feature more beauty filters and AI features for optimized photography experience.
Leaked information has revealed that one of the upcoming CC phones features a flip camera like the ASUS ZenFone 6 smartphone. It appears that the company will be launching Mi CC9 and Mi CC9e smartphones before it. The Mi CC9 and CC9e are expected to come with in-scree fingerprint scanner enabled waterdrop-style notch displays, 4,000mAh batteries, 32-megapixel selfie cameras and 48-megapixel triple rear cameras.
Xiaomi Mi CC9e render
The Mi CC9e may feature Snapdragon 710 chipset, up to 8 GB of RAM, up to 128 GB of storage and 18W charging support. On the other side, the Mi CC9 may come with Snapdragon 730 SoC, up to 8 GB of RAM, up to 256 GB of storage and 27W rapid charging. These phones are expected to run on Android 9 Pie that is customized with MIUI 10 designed for CC series. The starting prices of Mi CC9e and CC9 could be 1,599 Yuan (~$232) and 2,599 Yuan (~$378).
Lenovo has already launched a couple of smartphones in its Z series this year, which includes the flagship Lenovo Z6 Pro and the watered-down Lenovo Z6 Youth Edition. Now, the company is gearing up to launch the standard edition — Lenovo Z6.
Chang Cheng, Vice President of Lenovo Group, recently shared a teaser image on Weibo which revealed some of the key features of the upcoming Lenovo Z6 smartphone. It said that the phone will come powered by a powerful SoC and now the company has confirmed that the Lenovo Z6 will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 chipset.
Lenovo Z6
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 (SM7150-AA) is a new processor designed with a focus for mobile gaming. It is an 8nm octa-core chipset which features 2 + 6 core arrangement and comes with Kryo 470 CPUs clocked at 2.2GHz, coupled with Adreno 618 GPU. The company claims that the processor provides a 35 percent increase in performance compared to the previous generation.
It is also the first 7 series processors to feature the Hexagon Tensor Accelerator. There’s also Hexagon 688 DSP which works with the GPU and CPU to complete AI tasks faster and in more power-efficient ways. It features Snapdragon X15 LTE modem offering 800Mbps download speeds and also supports Wi-Fi 6 and Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+.
The company has already revealed that the phone will feature an AI-powered triple camera by Sony. The Chinese text for the display information mentioned on the image translates to “color laser screen.” Since the Lenovo Z6 Pro and Z6 Youth Edition are equipped with waterdrop-like notch display, the Lenovo Z6 could be also equipped with the same kind of display design, probably with a 6.3-inch display.
While the exact battery capacity of the smartphone is not yet known, it is speculated to be fuelled by a 4,000mAh battery. The teaser image states that the rechargeable battery of the phone can last for up to 2 days on a single charge. The 3C listing of the phone had previously revealed that it will carry support for 18W fast charging.
The Lenovo Z6 is expected to come in at least two color options — Brown and Blue. We expect to know more about the smartphone, including its full specifications in the coming weeks as the phone’s TENAA listing gets updated.
A couple of days ago, Oppo revealed that it will be announcing its new under-display camera smartphone at Mobile World Congress 2019 Shanghai which will be held from 26th June to 29th June. Now, the company has confirmed that the smartphone with an in-display camera will be unveiled on 26th June.
The Chinese manufacturer has also shared a teaser video which showcases the evolution of the front-facing camera housing technology for Oppo. It shows the rotation selfie camera of Oppo N series, waterdrop notch, the pop-up camera setup on the Oppo Find X and now the shark-fin setup on the Oppo Reno.
This clearly hints at the next logical evolution for the technology, which puts the front-facing camera sensor behind the display. In the final frames, the company shows an Oppo smartphone where the front camera is not relying on any mechanical structure and has a true full-screen design. This will be the world’s first smartphone to feature an in-display front camera setup.
In a short video clip previously shared by the company on the Chinese microblogging platform Weibo, a phone with an under-display camera was shown. It has a front-facing camera that doesn’t need a notch, teardrop, hole punch, pop-up, or even sliding mechanism and keeps the edge-to-edge display uninterrupted.
At that time, Brian Shen had said that the under-screen camera technology is still in its early days. He added, “At this stage, it’s difficult for under-display cameras to match the same results as normal cameras, there’s bound to be some loss in optical quality. But, no new technology jumps to perfection right away.”
Notably, Oppo isn’t the only smartphone manufacturer working on a technology that puts the front-facing camera inside the phone’s display. Other manufacturers like Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, and Samsung are also working on the same.
In fact, just hours after Oppo shared a video of its technology, another Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi also showcased its own under-display camera technology. The video shows a modified Mi 9 smartphone with a working selfie camera under the display.
If you love updates, then the Moto Z4 may not be for you. A new report says the new upper mid-range will only receive one major OS update. For a phone that costs $499, that is quite disappointing.
moto z4
Tech site, Digital Trends, reported in their review of the device that the phone manufacturer confirmed that only one major OS update is planned for the 4th-gen Moto Z smartphone. Since it launched with Android Pie, that means it will get updated to Android Q and nothing afterward.
In this age where software support is equally as important as the build quality of your device, it doesn’t make any sense why Motorola has decided to take this decision. What is more confusing is the fact that the Moto Z4 runs a near-stock version of Android, so it shouldn’t be hard to roll out at least two updates.
Motorola does say the Moto Z4 will receive bi-monthly security updates for two years but that isn’t much of a consolation. This news makes it even harder for the Moto Z4 as a device worth buying in a market where it has to compete with the Pixel 3a which will get updates up until 2022.
The Moto Z4 does have its strengths and it even trumps the Pixel 3a in a lot of areas but if software support is very important to you, then you may want to skip this device.
At the beginning of the year, Xiaomi’s Redmi brand became a stand-alone subsidiary. It not only makes phones now has added other products including a computer and a washing machine to its catalog. Xiaomi, on the other hand, is known for its Mi branded-phones but that too will now be split into three lines according to CEO, Lei Jun. There is the Xiaomi digital series which includes phones such as the Mi 9 and the Mi 9 SE; the MIX business flagship series which combines art and professionalism; and the new CC series which is for phones made in partnership with Meitu and is targeted at the younger generation all over the world.
News of the first set of devices in the CC series has been circulating for over a week now. There will be two phones: one is called the CC9e and will have a waterdrop notch and triple rear cameras, while the other is the CC9 which skips the notch and punch hole, and shaves off nearly all the bezels for an all-screen design and flip-triple cameras. A live photo of a phone believed to be the latter has now surfaced online.
The phone has very thin top and side bezels. Even the one at the bottom of the screen is thinner than what we have seen on a lot of other phones. The screen-to-body ratio is definitely over 90%.
Unlike the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro which also have a similar all-screen design but have a pop-up selfie camera, the Xiaomi CC9 is said to have a flip camera module just like that of the ASUS Zenfone 6. This way, the rear cameras are also the front-facing cameras. However, instead of two cameras, the Xiaomi CC9 will have three cameras.
The source didn’t show the rear of the phone or list any of its specs. The specs we have seen on the web don’t even say the phone has an all-screen design. Instead, it is said to have a waterdrop notch with a 32MP selfie camera while a 48MP triple camera setup sits on the back.
Other than this live photo and the poster that shows a Meitu-branded phone with triple rear cameras, we haven’t come across any new info that reinforces the existence of a phone with a flip camera. Until we get more details, we advise you to take this with a grain of salt.
Xiaomi has recently introduced the selfie-focused Mi CC9 series in China in collaboration with Meitu. The launch date of the first Mi CC9 smartphone is currently under the wraps. It is speculated that the M1904F3BC that was recently certified by TENAA and 3C authorities in China could be the upcoming Xiaomi Mi CC9 series phone. The leaked specifications and pricing of the rumored Mi CC9 and CC9e smartphones have already surfaced. A fresh leak that has surfaced today gives detailed information on the specs and pricing of both smartphones.
Xiaomi Mi CC9e Specifications and Price (Rumored)
The Xiaomi Mi CC9 is expected to come with a 5.97-inch AMOLED display that produces full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. The display and rear side of the phone may come with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The waterdrop notch on the screen is expected to house a 32-megapixel front-facing camera. The rear side of the phone may feature an OIS enabled triple camera setup with 48-megapixel Sony IMX582 as primary sensor, an 8-megapixel secondary sensor and a third lens of 5-megapixel. The MIUI 10 based Android 9 Pie OS customized specially for the CC series could be available on the device.
The smartphone could be fueled by Snapdragon 710 chipset and 6 GB / 8 GB of RAM. It may release in 64 GB and 128 GB (eMMC 5.1) storage models. The smartphone may house a 3,500mAh battery that carries support for 18W fast charging through USB-C. It may not support NFC connectivity. Its other rumored features include in-screen fingerprint sensor, IR blaster and Hi-Res audio.

They are likely to be priced at 1,599 Yuan (~$232), 1,899 Yuan (~$276) and 2,199 Yuan (~$320). Show below is the leaked render of the Xiaomi Mi CC9e smartphone.

It is also expected to come with a 32-megapixel selfie camera planted inside the font notch. It may also come with a triple camera module on its rear with 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 primary lens, a 16-megapixel secondary lens and a 12-megapixel third sensor. The custom-made CC9 series MIUI 10 based Android 9 Pie OS may come loaded on the smartphone.
The Snapdragon 730 chipset may fuel the Xiaomi Mi CC9 with 6 GB / 8 GB of RAM. It may come with up to 256 GB (UFS 2.1) of built-in storage. The smartphone may arrive with 4000mAh battery with 27W fast charging support through USB-C. The other features of the phone include in-display fingerprint reader, IR blaster and Hi Res-audio.
The Xiaomi Mi CC9 could be arriving in models such as 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage in China. These three variants could be respectively priced at 2,599 Yuan (~$378), 2,799 Yuan (~$407) and 3,099 Yuan (~$451).
After multiple teasers, the iQOO Neo has finally gotten a release date. The announcement was made on Weibo by Feng Yufei, VP of the iQOO division.

The iQOO Neo is a sort of lite version to the iQOO gaming smartphone which launched earlier this year. It swaps the Snapdragon 855 processor for the Snapdragon 845. iQOO already confirmed the phone will come with 4D Game Shock 2.0, Liquid Cooling, and touch acceleration. It will also have a 6.38-inch AMOLED display with a waterdrop notch, triple rear cameras, and run Android Pie out of the box.

The size of the display notch on smartphones have considerably this year. There are many phones available with waterdrop-style notch. Some smartphones have sported notch-less design with pop-up selfie camera. Some phones have adopted punch-hole display design. One mainstream smartphone marker that has failed to keep with these trends is LG. The LG Q60 mid-ranger that was unveiled in February sport a waterdrop-style notch, but most of its high-end phones such as LG G8 ThinQ, LG G8s ThinQ and LG V50 ThinQ have sported wider notches. A new patent filing with Turkish Patent Institute has revealed that the South Korean company has been granted permission for a new smartphone design with punch-hole display and triple rear cameras.
As it can be seen in the below, the images found in the patent documents show a smartphone with a punch-hole placed at the top-left corner of its display. It features a thick-sized chin. The top bezel has an earpiece and some sensors.
The volume up and down buttons are present on the left spine of the phone. A button for summoning the AI assistant is placed below it. The button on the right edge could be for turning on the device. A 3.5mm audio jack seems to be present on the bottom side of the device. It will be accompanied by a USB port.
The rear design of the phone resembles with the LG V40 ThinQ smartphone from last year. It features a horizontally arranged triple camera setup that features an LED flash alongside it. A fingerprint scanner is available below the camera module.
Unfortunately, the patent application is not available in the regulator’s database. Hence, there is a possibility that it could be fake, or the listing could be hidden to the public. It would be good to known whether the company is working on a phone with a new display design. If it exists for real, more details may surface in the near future. In this week, LG will be announcing the W-series of smartphones in India. The W-series phones are expected to sport waterdrop-notch display design.
Before the launch of the Huawei Nova 5 series, the Nova 5 Pro was listed on Jingdong Mall with some specs and images. Also, the Nova 5i Pro was also listed with some images on the Chinese retailer site. However, when the company had launched the Nova 5 series on June 21, it only unveiled phones like Nova 5, Nova 5 Pro and Nova 5i. Since the company did not announce Nova 5i Pro, it appeared that the device does not exist. Reliable tipster Evan Blass has shared a schematic of the unreleased Nova5i Pro which not only suggests that it exists, but also reveals that it will be sporting a different design from what was seen on its JD.com listing.
The following image was found on the JD.com listing of the Nova 5i Pro. The handset features a wide notch, a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and a vertical dual camera setup with an LED flash. The design actually matches with the Nova 3iv smartphone from last year.
However, the image shared by Blass shows the Nova 5i Pro flaunting a unique appeal. The smartphone can be seen with the trendier punch-hole display design with a slightly thick chin. The rest of the bezels of the smartphone are slimmer. The recently announced Nova 5i also features a punch-hole display. The top edge of the Nova 5i Pro has an earpiece. A volume rocker and a power key are available on the right spine of the Nova 5i Pro. Its left edge seems to feature a slot for the SIM card tray.
The bottom edge of the Nova 5i Pro in the new schematic shows the presence of a USB port (probably, USB-C) and a 3.5mm audio jack. There is a square-shaped camera module on the upper half of the Nova 5i Pro’s rear shell. An LED flash is placed alongside it and a fingerprint placed below it.
The Nova 5i comes with 6.4-inch display, Kirin 710 chipset, 6 GB / 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB of storage, 16-megapixel quad camera, 16-megapixel selfie camera and 4,000mAh battery. If Nova 5i Pro truly exists, it will certainly arrive with better specs than the Nova 5i. Hopefully, more details of the phone may appear in the coming days.
Xiaomi’s smartphone series has seen drastic changes within the last one year. First, the Redmi series became an independent brand and not a mid-range/budget-focused series. Since then, we have seen the brand release, not just premium midrange models but also budget and even flagship models.
Xiaomi’s CEO recently disclosed that the company’s smartphone lines are now the Xiaomi and Redmi lines. He equally hinted that the Xiaomi brand is devoted to new technology, high-end phones, with a focus on new retail markets. He then reeled out the phones under the product line for this year. Among them are the Xiaomi digital series, Mi 9, Mi 9SE, Xiaomi Mix series and the new Xiaomi CC series. Of particular interest is the disclosure that the company has no plans for a new Max and Note phones this year. While he didn’t categorically say the company has discontinued the two series, but that could be what the news is pointing at.
The Mi Max 3 was launched last year so it is difficult to say if the company will not bring an update next year. On the other hand, the Mi Note 3 which was launched in 2017, is the last Note model from Xiaomi. The Mi Note series was first launched in 2015 and as at then, Xiaomi was looking at the possibility of the industry developing towards the use of curved OLED screens. Full-screen design stole the show instead and curved screens are not in any way trendy any more.
