Viltrox has introduced the AF 50mm F2.0 Air, a compact and lightweight full-frame lens designed for Sony E (FE) and Nikon Z mount cameras. Priced at $199 and currently available for $183.08, the lens offers a versatile 50mm focal length and brings several high-end features to a budget-friendly package.

The lens features a solid optical construction of 13 elements in 9 groups, including 3 ED (extra-low dispersion) elements, 4 high-refractive index elements, and 1 aspherical element. It sports a fast F2.0 maximum aperture, allowing for excellent subject isolation, smooth bokeh, and better performance in low-light conditions. The aperture is formed by 9 rounded blades, ensuring a pleasing out-of-focus rendering.

Despite its full-frame coverage, the lens weighs just 205 grams (FE mount) and 220 grams (Z mount), making it ideal for handheld shooting, street photography, and travel. It also features a minimum focusing distance of 0.51 meters, offering flexibility for closer shots and tighter compositions.

Autofocus is powered by a quiet STM motor paired with a lead-screw mechanism, enabling fast and accurate focusing. It supports features like eye and face detection and offers minimal focus breathing, making it a dependable choice for both photography and video work.

Lenovo’s Upcoming Legion Gaming Tablet Tipped to Feature Snapdragon 8 Elite: Key Specs Revealed

Lenovo is reportedly working on an updated version of its Legion Y700 (2024) gaming tablet (Legion Tab 2025), according to leaks from tipster Digital Chat Station. The new model is expected to replace the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip in the 2023 Y700 with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite.

It will retain the 8.8-inch display size with a high refresh rate, likely 144Hz or 165Hz, but feature a larger battery than its predecessor’s 6,550mAh capacity, along with a slimmer design, dual speakers, and dual X-axis vibration motors. Specific battery details remain unconfirmed. We can take a look at its predecessor, the Legion Y700 (2024) to get a better idea of what to expect from the upcoming Lenovo tablet.

The current Legion Y700 (2024) offers an 8.8-inch 2560×1600 LCD screen with a 165Hz refresh rate, 343 PPI density, 500 nits brightness, and TÜV Rheinland certifications for eye comfort. Its successor is expected to maintain most of these specs, including DCI-P3 color gamut support and DeltaE<1 color accuracy.

Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the Y700 features LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.0 storage, and Lenovo’s QianKun cooling system with a 10,004mm² vapor chamber. The Y700 incorporates Lenovo’s Lingjing Engine, reducing touch and network latency. Dual USB-C ports, dual X-axis linear motors, and dual ultra-linear speakers enhance gaming immersion. The device weighs 350g, runs ZUI 16.1, and has a 6,550mAh battery, providing up to 14.6 hours of video playback or 8.9 hours of gaming.

In other news, Lenovo’s Legion Go S, now priced at $549.99, directly competes with Valve’s Steam Deck OLED. It matches the OLED model in price but offers extras like Hall effect joysticks, adjustable triggers, and a variable refresh rate display.

Qualcomm has officially unveiled a new high end chipset from its premium Snapdragon 8 series. The new Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 is the latest chipset in question, which brings upgraded performance over its predecessor. So here’s everything you need to know.

The brand’s latest Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 is the latest chip that carries the SM8735 model number and is fabricated on TSMC’s N4P 4nm process. Unlike the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 employs the older Kyro CPU cores over the newer Oryon cores. The chip consists of 1x Cortex-X4 prime core clocked at up to 3.2GHz, 3x Cortex-A720 cores at 3.0GHz, 2x Cortex-A720 cores at 2.8GHz, and 2x Cortex-A720 cores at 2.0GHz.

Qualcomm claims that this chipset is around 31 percent faster than the older Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 while offering 39 percent improvement in power efficiency. The CPU is paired with a new Adreno 825 GPU that brings a 49 percent upgrade in graphics performance over the last gen Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset. This allows the chip to offer ray tracing support, Snapdragon Game Super Resolution 2.0, and Adreno Image Motion Engine 2.0.

That’s not all, even the Qualcomm Hexagon NPU is getting a 44 percent performance upgrade, allowing for on-device AI functions. For connectivity, the high end chipset arrives with an integrated Snapdragon X75 5G modem, WiFi 7, and Bluetooth 6.0 support. The Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 features an 18-bit triple IPS that can support up to 320MP camera sensors and 4K recording at 60fps. Qualcomm’s latest processor will likely power upcoming affordable flagship smartphones.

Exclusive: HTC Wildfire E7 Full Specs Leaked Ahead of UAE Launch

HTC is preparing to expand its budget smartphone lineup with the upcoming Wildfire E7, which is expected to launch soon in the UAE, according to our exclusive report. Although the official release date has yet to be confirmed, the device appeared on the Google Play Console back in January—and now, we’ve obtained the official specifications exclusively.

The HTC Wildfire E7 sports a 6.67-inch HD+ punch-hole display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. The screen supports a 90Hz refresh rate and peaks at 420 nits of brightness, which should offer smoother scrolling and adequate visibility under normal lighting conditions. Under the hood, the device is powered by MediaTek’s Helio G81 chipset, featuring an octa-core CPU (2x Cortex-A75 at 2.0GHz + 6x Cortex-A55 at 1.7GHz) and a Mali-G52 MC2 GPU clocked at 820MHz.

The Wildfire E7 comes equipped with 6GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, with additional expandability via a microSD card slot. It supports dual Nano SIMs along with a dedicated TF card slot. On the software front, the phone runs Android 14 out of the box, ensuring a current and clean software experience.

Camera-wise, HTC has opted for a dual rear setup comprising a 50MP main sensor paired with a secondary 0.08MP depth sensor. On the front, the phone houses a 16MP selfie shooter. Powering the device is a 4920mAh battery with 10W standard charging via USB Type-C.

Amazon India ships Car Polish Instead of Headphones: Offers No Resolution

For years, many of us in the tech media fraternity have confidently recommended Amazon over other retailers in India. The reason was pretty simple: Amazon’s reputation for stellar customer service and hassle-free resolution of issues. 

But lately, for some reason, I’ve been hearing an increasing number of complaints regarding the brand’s customer service and resolution offers. 

And a couple of weeks ago, I personally had to go through with something similar. 

The Incident: Car Polish Instead of Headphones

In March, my sister reached out to me for recommendations on a cheap pair of headphones. For someone who has personally used the OnePlus neckband earphones before, my recommendation was pretty straightforward – get a pair of the OnePlus Bullets Z2 Earbuds. And I was the one who asked her to go with Amazon since I was confident that there wouldn’t be any issues and even if there were, it would be handled properly. 

But imagine our shock when, upon opening the package, she discovered not the Z2 earphones that she had ordered but a box of car polish instead.

The mix-up was so absurd it would be comical if not for the frustrating aftermath. 

When she called me, honestly, I was laughing. We have seen such cases before, but I never thought I would hear this about an Amazon shipment.

But immediately, I asked her to report it to Amazon customer service; I assured her not to worry. “It’s Amazon, not some other retailer,” I told her confidently. “They’ll sort this out without any hassle.”

My confidence was clearly misplaced.

The Response: “Nothing Can Be Done”

After what Amazon claimed was a thorough “investigation,” my sister received a stunning response: nothing could be done about the mix-up. 

This was not merely disappointing; it was shocking. The fundamental principle of retail is that the customer should receive what they pay for. If they don’t, the retailer has an obligation to make it right—regardless of where in the supply chain the error occurred.

I personally had a chat with one of their executives, and they said our fulfillment center placed the item in the box properly. So we can’t do anything about it. 

Now, I checked the box – there was no visible damage that could have hinted at any kind of tampering when we accepted the package. No holes, or visible patch-up work. No evidence that could have forced us to not accept the shipment. 

So Amazon’s refusal to acknowledge this basic responsibility represents a troubling shift in their approach to customer service, at least in the Indian market.

The end result — my sister has a nice car polish instead of a pair of earphones. 

A Matter of Trust

Honestly, I’m just glad that this was with a relatively inexpensive item. But it definitely shatters my trust in Amazon and its delivery service. Imagine if I had ordered a phone from Amazon (which I have done and recommended plenty of times before).

Like many Amazon customers, I’ve developed such trust in their service that I often leave packages unopened for days after delivery, confident that:

  1. Mix-ups are extremely rare with Amazon
  2. If a genuine issue occurs, their support team would promptly resolve it

That confidence has now been shattered. 

If Amazon can simply wash their hands of responsibility for delivering the wrong product, what does this mean for customers purchasing higher-value items?

The Broader Concern: Industry Standards Slipping?

What’s particularly concerning is that Amazon has long set the gold standard for customer service in e-commerce. If they’re lowering their standards, what can consumers expect from other platforms that have historically offered less robust customer protection?

The message seems clear: the burden of verification is shifting increasingly to the consumer. In an era of fast-paced deliveries and increasing automation, customers can no longer assume what’s inside the package matches what was ordered—even from retailers they’ve trusted for years.

It is now your duty to ensure that the package contains the right product. 

Protecting Yourself: What Consumers Should Do?

In light of this experience, here are some precautions I now recommend to all online shoppers:

  • Open and inspect all packages immediately upon delivery even for retailers like Amazon, ideally while the delivery person is still present. 
  • Record unboxing videos for high-value items as evidence. 
  • Check the packaging for signs of tampering before accepting delivery.
  • Save all order confirmation emails and screenshots of your purchases.
  • Document any communication with customer service in writing.

The Bottom Line: Trust But Verify

For years, I’ve enthusiastically recommended Amazon to my readers, friends, and family. While I won’t stop using their services, I’ll certainly be more cautious with my Amazon orders. More importantly, I can no longer recommend them with the same confidence I once did.

Genuine and excellent customer support was Amazon’s biggest selling point in a competitive market. It appears that this advantage may be eroding, and consumers would be wise to adjust their expectations accordingly.

Whether this incident represents an isolated failure or a broader policy shift remains to be seen. What’s clear is that even with the most trusted retailers, the age-old advice applies more than ever: trust, but verify.

Samsung’s One UI 7 update rollout plan

Samsung has confirmed that the One UI 7 rollout will begin on April 7. While most countries will receive the update on this date, some regions, including the US and Canada, will have to wait until April 10. Users in Malaysia and Singapore will experience a further delay, with the rollout beginning there on April 14.

The update will first arrive on the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6. However, later in April, it will also reach dozens of other Galaxy devices such as the Galaxy S24 FE, Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Tab S10 series, and more. Interestingly, Samsung’s current rollout plan does not mention any Galaxy A-series devices, which suggests they may not receive the update this month. However, given that the Galaxy A55 is part of the One UI 7 beta program, there’s a possibility it could receive the update this month alongside high-end phones. That said, given the overall delays in the One UI 7 rollout, we wouldn’t count on it just yet.

OnePlus Nord 3 Just Got a Home Screen Makeover—Here’s What’s New

OnePlus has started rolling out the OxygenOS 15.0.0.701 update for the Nord 3 in India (build CPH2491_15.0.0.701), introducing some interface tweaks and security updates.

The software support goes entirely in favor of Samsung, thanks to its impressive update policy. The front camera supports 4K UHD at 30fps and FHD at 60/30fps. Video features include stabilization, video snapshot, audio zoom, external mic support, timelapse, slow motion, portrait video, dual capture, macro, and Spot Color.

Official: Realme GT 7 with Dimensity 9400+ to launch this month

Realme has officially announced the launch of its upcoming flagship smartphone, the Realme GT 7. According to Realme executives, the device will be among the first to feature MediaTek’s latest Dimensity 9400+ chipset. The chip, which is set to debut on April 11, will be an overclocked version of the Dimensity 9400 that debuted in October last year.

Realme’s Vice President, Xu Qi, has highlighted the importance of 3nm technology in defining next-generation flagship performance. The Dimensity 9400+ chipset, built on TSMC’s advanced 3nm process, is expected to bring substantial improvements in power efficiency and thermal management.

The CPU configuration includes one Cortex-X925 core clocked at 3.73GHz, three Cortex-X4 cores at 3.30GHz, and four Cortex-A720 cores at 2.4GHz, making it MediaTek’s highest-frequency mobile processor to date. Benchmark results suggest that the chipset could surpass 3 million points on AnTuTu, positioning it as a top-tier performer among Android devices.

The GT 7 will succeed last year’s GT 6, which featured the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. The brand has confirmed that the GT 7 will debut this month (April) in China.

Apart from its powerful chipset, the Realme GT 7 is likely to feature a 7,000mAh single-cell battery with 100W fast charging. The device is also expected to feature a 1.5K flat display with support for a high refresh rate.

Despite the larger battery, Realme has managed to keep the phone thinner and lighter than its predecessor, making it more ergonomic and comfortable for daily use. While the official pricing remains unconfirmed, industry analysts expect the Realme GT 7 to be priced around 3,000 Yuan (~$415), aligning with Realme’s GT series positioning.

The Realme GT 7 will face competition from the Redmi K80 Ultra and the OnePlus Ace 5s, which are expected to feature the Dimensity 9400+.  The Honor GT Pro, which is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite, will also rival these the three Dimensity-powered smartphones.
