Official: Realme GT 7 with Dimensity 9400+ to launch this month

Realme has officially announced the launch of its upcoming flagship smartphone, the Realme GT 7. According to Realme executives, the device will be among the first to feature MediaTek’s latest Dimensity 9400+ chipset. The chip, which is set to debut on April 11, will be an overclocked version of the Dimensity 9400 that debuted in October last year.

Realme’s Vice President, Xu Qi, has highlighted the importance of 3nm technology in defining next-generation flagship performance. The Dimensity 9400+ chipset, built on TSMC’s advanced 3nm process, is expected to bring substantial improvements in power efficiency and thermal management.

The CPU configuration includes one Cortex-X925 core clocked at 3.73GHz, three Cortex-X4 cores at 3.30GHz, and four Cortex-A720 cores at 2.4GHz, making it MediaTek’s highest-frequency mobile processor to date. Benchmark results suggest that the chipset could surpass 3 million points on AnTuTu, positioning it as a top-tier performer among Android devices.

The GT 7 will succeed last year’s GT 6, which featured the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. The brand has confirmed that the GT 7 will debut this month (April) in China.

Realme GT 7 specifications (rumored)

Apart from its powerful chipset, the Realme GT 7 is likely to feature a 7,000mAh single-cell battery with 100W fast charging. The device is also expected to feature a 1.5K flat display with support for a high refresh rate.

Despite the larger battery, Realme has managed to keep the phone thinner and lighter than its predecessor, making it more ergonomic and comfortable for daily use. While the official pricing remains unconfirmed, industry analysts expect the Realme GT 7 to be priced around 3,000 Yuan (~$415), aligning with Realme’s GT series positioning.

The Realme GT 7 will face competition from the Redmi K80 Ultra and the OnePlus Ace 5s, which are expected to feature the Dimensity 9400+.  The Honor GT Pro, which is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite, will also rival these the three Dimensity-powered smartphones.

Oppo Reno 14 series to adopt flat display, periscope zoom camera, leak suggests

Tech tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed that Oppo is set to make significant design changes to its upcoming Reno series. The brand is betting on a lightweight and flat-screen design this year, with the next-generation Reno 14 lineup shifting to a flat display. Additionally, the series is expected to feature a periscope telephoto camera, a metal frame, and full-scale waterproofing, covering all essential aspects for a premium experience.

Oppo Reno 14 series: Key details tipped

Oppo Reno 13 series key specs tipped

According to a recent Weibo post by DCS, the Oppo Reno 14 series will mark a departure from previous Reno models by adopting a flat display, a design choice that enhances durability and usability. The move aligns with a broader industry trend as more manufacturers transition to flat screens for a more refined aesthetic. The inclusion of a metal frame further solidifies the phone’s premium feel while improving overall sturdiness.

Beyond aesthetics, Oppo is expected to introduce a periscope telephoto camera, a feature typically found in flagship models. Furthermore, the device is rumoured to offer full-scale waterproofing, suggesting that it may arrive with an IP68/69-rated chassis.

The Oppo Reno 14 series is anticipated to launch in the first half of 2025, with models likely including the Reno 14 and Reno 14 Pro. Pricing is expected to remain in line with the Reno 13 series, which started at 2,699 Yuan (~$370) for the base model and 3,299 Yuan (~$455) for the Pro variant.

While detailed specifications remain under wraps, the Reno 14 Pro may inherit or improve upon the Reno 13 Pro’s hardware. The latter featured a MediaTek Dimensity 8350 processor, a 6.83-inch display with 120Hz refresh rate, a 50-megapixel triple rear camera setup, and a 5,800mAh battery supporting 80W wired and 50W wireless charging.

Vivo S30 moniker tipped, color variants tipped

Vivo is known for launching two generations of S-series smartphones in China each year. Last year, the brand unveiled the S19 lineup in May 2024, followed by the S20 series in November. Therefore, the next S-series phones are expected to be announced around May this year. However, there has been some discussion about whether the next iteration will be called the S21 or S30. A new leak by tipster Panda is Bald has revealed the name of Vivo’s next S-series for the Chinese market.

Vivo S30 color options

Vivo S30 moniker tipped

According to the tipster, Vivo will skip the “21” naming and jump directly to the “S30” series. In terms of colour options, the tipster shared images of previous S-series phones in blue, gold, pink, and black, suggesting that the Vivo S30 series will be available in at least these four shades.

Vivo is unlikely to talk about the S30 series now as it is focused on the Vivo X200 Ultra launch event, which is expected to be held in the second half of this month. Alongside the X200 Ultra, the brand will announce the Vivo X200S, Vivo Pad 5 Pro, Vivo Pad SE, and Watch 5. Therefore, the brand may start teasing the arrival of the S30 series after unveiling the above-mentioned products.

Last month, tipster Digital Chat Station revealed that the Vivo S30 will feature a 6.67-inch OLED panel offering a 1.5K resolution and the upcoming Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset. On the other hand, there will be another model with a compact form factor, featuring a 6.31-inch OLED panel and the Dimensity 9300 Plus chipset. It wouldn’t be surprising if the company decides to call it the Vivo S30 Pro Mini as an affordable alternative to the more powerful Vivo X200 Pro Mini.

Nothing brings back the 3.5mm jack—just not how you expected

Nothing, the London-based tech brand known for its transparent gadgets and cheeky marketing, has once again leaned into its playful side for April Fools’ Day. This time, the company unveiled a product that seems equal parts satire and sly commentary: the Nothing Ear (3.5mm). As the name suggests, it’s a wired pair of earbuds—with a wildly impractical 50-meter cable and a good old 3.5mm headphone jack.

Nothing brings back the 3.5mm jack

Yes, you read that right. Fifty meters of cable. The product was described as “beautifully inconvenient,” a tagline that perfectly captures the essence of the prank. Styled similarly to the Ear (Open) that launched in 2024, the Ear (3.5mm) features the same transparent aesthetic and chunky ear loops. But rather than embracing modern wireless convenience, this mock product takes things back to basics, leaning hard into retro appeal—and making a joke out of it.

While it’s clearly not a real product (at least not yet), the announcement feels like more than just a simple gag. There’s a subtle jab here—both at the current trend of ditching headphone jacks and at the growing niche of audiophiles who are turning back to wired gear for better sound quality, lower latency, and longevity. In that sense, Nothing’s fake launch manages to poke fun while also tapping into a real conversation within the tech community.

The Ear (3.5mm) joins a long line of April Fools’ stunts from Nothing, such as the Phone (2a) micro and the much-memed Nothing Beer (5.1%). This year’s entry continues the tradition of mixing product satire with a bit of industry commentary. Whether you find it clever or cringe might depend on how attached you are to your headphone jack—but either way, it’s hard not to smile at the absurdity.

And truth be told, for a split second, we kind of wished they were real.

Galaxy Watch 8 battery confirmed to pack larger battery than Watch 7

Samsung’s next-generation smartwatches, likely to be called the Galaxy Watch 8 and Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, have taken a step closer to launch as their batteries have appeared in a regulatory certification platform. The listings reveal that there will be a slight battery capacity bump for the standard model this year.

Galaxy Watch 7

Two battery models—EB-BL330ABY and EB-BL505ABY—were spotted in SafetyKorea’s database, linked to devices with model numbers SM-L330 and SM-L505. These are believed to belong to the Galaxy Watch 8 and Galaxy Watch 8 Classic.

Galaxy Watch 8 (SM-L330):

  • Battery capacity: 435 mAh on the 44mm variant (up from 425 mAh in the Watch 7)
  • Also certified by TUV Rheinland, which confirms its safety compliance

Galaxy Watch 8 Classic (SM-L505):

  • The exact battery capacity is yet to be confirmed
  • It’s expected to retain the rotating bezel, a fan-favorite feature

What else to expect from the Galaxy Watch 8 series

Rumors suggest that the Galaxy Watch 8 series will feature:

  • 3nm Exynos W1000 chipset, same as last year’s Watch 7 and Watch Ultra
  • Dual-frequency GPS for more accurate location tracking
  • Refined design with Wear OS 5-based One UI Watch

Notably, there’s no mention yet of a second-generation Galaxy Watch Ultra, which suggests that Samsung is currently focusing on the development of the Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic. It’s currently unclear whether there’s a new Galaxy Watch Ultra in the pipeline for 2025.

The Galaxy Watch 8 series will likely be unveiled alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 in July or August, following the launch timeframe of the Watch 7 and Watch Ultra. With a larger battery, the Galaxy Watch 8 series could offer longer battery life than its predecessor. More details should emerge as we inch closer to the launch.

Samsung’s dual-folding phone may skip global launch

Samsung appears to be preparing its most ambitious foldable yet – a dual-hinge smartphone that folds in two places. Based on the device’s appearance on certification listings, it’s expected to launch only in China and South Korea towards the end of 2025.

tri-fold samsung
Samsung tri-fold concept render

Recent filings in the GSMA database (via) have uncovered a mysterious Samsung device (model number SM-F968), which was initially codenamed Q7M. Two variants of the dual-folding phone have appeared:

  • SM-F9680 (likely Chinese version)
  • SM-F968N (probable South Korean variant)

The absence of model numbers with Samsung’s typical global identifiers (B, E, U, or U1) suggests this dual-folding phone may not see worldwide release, at least initially. According to industry sources, Samsung this decision is likely to test the waters with initial release in China and South Korea first. Huawei has already launched its dual-hinge smartphone—the Huawei Mate XT (our review)—in the Chinese market, and Samsung is likely trying to see how its offering competes with the existing product from Huawei.

What we know about Samsung’s dual-folding design

While specifications remain unconfirmed, leaks and patents suggest:

  • The device will fold into multiple configurations
  • It’ll likely pack a larger screen than current Galaxy Z Fold models

This would represent Samsung’s biggest innovation in foldables since the original Galaxy Fold in 2019. The company has steadily improved durability and usability across multiple generations. Now, this dual-folding design is expected to open new multitasking possibilities.

As for the limited launch, Samsung likely wants to test the durability of the complex hinge mechanism and improve the overall build quality and reliability of the device before a global launch. For now, Samsung could be aiming to gather user feedback and fix glaring issues with the new form factor.

Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold looks just like the Pixel 9 Pro Fold in fresh leaked renders

Google‘s next generation foldable smartphone has just been spotted in a new leak. This marks the first appearance of the Pixel 10 Pro Fold showcasing the full design of this premium Pixel foldable and revealing a design that seems quite familiar. So let’s check it out.

Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold Full Design Leaked

The search engine giant’s upcoming foldable phone just surfaced in leaked images that were shared by OnLeaks (Via AndroidHeadlines). Looking at these leaked renders, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold appears to have a design that is nearly identical to last year’s Pixel 9 Pro Fold. We can see the dual pill shaped camera modules in the large camera island that houses the triple rear cameras and LED flash module.

Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold
Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold

For selfies and video calls, you can see a punch hole cutout on the main and cover display. So those who were fans of the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, you’re getting more of the same but you’re out of luck if you don’t like its squarish design. While it does resemble the last gen model, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold could be getting thinner than its predecessor. To recall, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold measured 5.1mm when unfolded. However, this won’t be getting an impressive thinness like the one offered on the Oppo Find N5, which measures just 4.21mm.

Google’s Pixel 10 Pro fold could likely be equipped with the Tensor G5 SoC, which is expected to be manufactured by TSMC. There might be improvements in the battery size or even support for 4K 60fps recording as well. Just last month, the Pixel 10 Pro XL had its renders leaked and doesn’t appear to be getting big changes either.

Acer Just Launched Two Blazing-Fast QD-OLED Monitors for Hardcore Gamers

Acer is pushing deeper into high-end gaming displays with two new QD-OLED monitors: the Predator X32 X2 and Predator X27U X1. These new panels aim to blend the ultra-fast performance gamers need with the kind of color accuracy and contrast that content creators crave — all wrapped in the vivid glow of quantum dot OLED tech.

Acer Predator X32 X2

Big specs, deep blacks

Leading the pack is the Predator X32 X2, a 31.5-inch 4K monitor with a 240Hz refresh rate and a razor-sharp 0.03ms response time. It’s built for speed, but it’s also tuned for cinematic visuals: 99% DCI-P3 coverage, 10-bit color, and up to 1000 nits of brightness in HDR mode. Thanks to per-pixel lighting from the OLED panel, contrast reaches a staggering 1,500,000:1 — perfect for those deep blacks and punchy highlights OLED is known for.

Acer Predator X32 X2

You also get AMD FreeSync Premium Pro support, which should help keep fast-paced gameplay smooth and tear-free. For connectivity, there’s a pair of HDMI 2.1 ports, a DisplayPort 1.4, audio out, and dual 2W speakers. Console players aren’t left out either — the X32 X2 plays nice with both the PS5 and Xbox Series X.

Acer’s also added some quality-of-life touches: an anti-glare coating, BlueLightShield Pro for eye comfort, and an adjustable stand that supports tilt, swivel, and height changes. It’s VESA mount compatible too.

Smaller sibling, same OLED punch

If you want something a bit more compact, the Predator X27U X1 shrinks things down to 26.5 inches with a WQHD resolution (2560 x 1440). It keeps the 240Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms response time and still delivers the same QD-OLED visual punch — including the high brightness, wide color gamut, and DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification.

Acer Predator X27U X1

The X27U X1 even steps things up in audio, with beefier 5W speakers compared to the X32 X2’s 2W setup. Like its larger sibling, it also supports picture-in-picture and picture-by-picture modes for multitasking setups.

Pricing and Availability

The Predator X32 X2 starts at $999.99 in North America and €1,199 in Europe, with a China release planned for Q2 at 5,999 yuan. The smaller X27U X1 is already available in the US for $599.99, with global availability rolling out over the next few months.

In related news, AOC recently launched a new 27-inch Fast IPS gaming monitor with a 200Hz refresh rate, priced under $160. Meanwhile, Asus has introduced a 31.5-inch 4K QD-OLED monitor featuring a 240Hz refresh rate and Thunderbolt 4 support.

Galaxy S25’s Now Bar lags behind S24’s One UI 7 Beta—fix incoming

The Galaxy S25 series delivers the most polished One UI 7 experience to date, but surprisingly lags behind the Galaxy S24 in one key aspect: Now Bar and media player integration. Now, the good news is that Samsung has confirmed an upcoming firmware update will address this discrepancy.

Current differences in Now Bar between S24 and S25 series

Users testing the One UI 7 beta on Galaxy S24 enjoy enhanced media control features:

  • The Now Bar can be minimized, which appears as a small, interactive pill-shaped button in the status bar
  • It offers direct access to media controls from the notification panel
  • It also supports one-tap expansion from the Now Bar to full media player

Now Bar in Galaxy S25 (stable One UI 7) needs some fine tuning. Despite launching with stable One UI 7, the Galaxy S25 currently lacks the following:

  • The ability to minimize the Now Bar to the status bar
  • Quick access to media controls from notifications
  • Seamless transition between Now Bar and media player

Reliable leaker @UniverseIce reports that Samsung will soon release a firmware update, bringing the S25’s Now Bar experience up to par with the S24 series’ current beta software. This update is expected to arrive around the same time as the stable One UI 7 rollout for Galaxy S24 in early April.

The latest Galaxy A series devices, which also ship with One UI 7, share the same limitations. These devices will likely receive similar improvements in future updates.

While it’s unusual for a new model to trail its predecessor in software experience, Samsung is moving quickly to resolve this. The improvements were likely proposed after the completion of the build for the S25 series, which is why this unusual discrepancy exists as of now. That said, Galaxy S25 users can expect the enhanced Now Bar experience soon.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra vs iPhone 16 Pro Max: Power, Performance & Price Compared

Xiaomi 15 Ultra and iPhone 16 Pro Max represent the pinnacle of smartphone innovation, each pushing the boundaries of design, performance, and camera technology. With Xiaomi focusing on cutting-edge hardware and Apple perfecting its seamless ecosystem, choosing between them isn’t just about specs, it’s about priorities.

Whether you value extreme battery life, pro-level photography, or long-term software support, this comparison will break down their key differences to help you decide which flagship suits you best.

1. Design and Display

iPhone 16 Pro Max
iPhone 16 Pro Max

Xiaomi 15 Ultra and iPhone 16 Pro Max both have premium builds, but they take different approaches. Xiaomi uses aerospace-grade glass fiber and an aluminum frame, while Apple opts for a grade-5 titanium frame, making it slightly more durable. The Xiaomi 15 Ultra’s design is bulkier, which some may find less ergonomic, but it adds a unique aesthetic with its eco-leather back option. Meanwhile, the iPhone 16 Pro Max keeps its minimalist and refined design, making it feel more premium in hand.

In terms of display, Xiaomi leads with a sharper 1440p LTPO AMOLED panel and a peak brightness of 3200 nits, ensuring excellent outdoor visibility. Apple’s 6.9-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display has a lower resolution but offers strong color accuracy, an always-on feature, and up to 2000 nits in high brightness mode.

Xiaomi’s higher resolution and brightness make it superior for content consumption, but Apple’s display has better software optimizations.

If you prioritize a sharper, more immersive display, Xiaomi is the better choice, whereas Apple offers a smoother experience with iOS enhancements.

2. Specifications

Xiaomi 15 ultra
Xiaomi 15 Ultra

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra packs the Snapdragon 8 Elite, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max uses Apple’s A18 Pro. Apple’s chipset typically outperforms Android processors in efficiency and sustained performance, but Xiaomi’s chip is no slouch, offering top-tier power for gaming and multitasking. Apple’s NVMe storage is faster than Xiaomi’s UFS 4.1, but both devices have generous storage options.

When it comes to battery, Xiaomi takes the lead with a massive 6000mAh (China variant) and 5410mAh (Global), while Apple offers only 4685mAh. Xiaomi also charges significantly faster with 90W wired and 80W wireless charging, compared to Apple’s slower wired and wireless charging speeds.

If you need long-lasting battery life and quick refueling, Xiaomi is the clear winner. However, Apple’s efficiency in power management helps it perform well despite the smaller battery.

3. Camera

iPhone 16 Pro Max
iPhone 16 Pro Max

Xiaomi’s 15 Ultra is a camera powerhouse with its quad-camera setup, including a 1-inch 50MP main sensor, a 200MP periscope telephoto, and a 50MP ultrawide. Apple takes a different approach with its triple-camera system, featuring a 48MP main, 12MP 5x periscope telephoto, and 48MP ultrawide sensor. The Xiaomi’s 200MP zoom camera offers more detail and versatility, but Apple’s computational photography and sensor-shift stabilization improve low-light and video performance.

For video, Xiaomi supports 8K recording, while Apple focuses on ProRes and spatial video, making it ideal for professional content creators. The iPhone also delivers more natural-looking colors in its photos, while Xiaomi’s Leica lenses produce a more dramatic and vibrant image. If you need extreme zoom and raw power, Xiaomi is better, but for video and consistency, the iPhone is superior.

4. Pricing

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is priced at approximately $1,320, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max starts at $1,014. This makes Xiaomi notably more expensive, especially considering Apple’s base model offers a similar storage configuration. However, Xiaomi provides more RAM (12GB or 16GB compared to Apple’s 8GB) and faster charging speeds, which may justify the higher price for power users.

Apple, on the other hand, offers better long-term value with consistent software updates and a strong resale market. If you want the best hardware for the price, Xiaomi is compelling, but Apple remains the better long-term investment.

5. Conclusion

Xiaomi 15 ultra
Xiaomi 15 Ultra

Xiaomi’s biggest advantage is its superior battery life, faster charging, and advanced camera hardware, particularly its 200MP periscope zoom. It also has two-way satellite communication, which Apple matches with its emergency satellite SOS. The iPhone 16 Pro Max stands out with its refined iOS ecosystem, more reliable software updates, and unique features like spatial video and ProRes support.

Ultimately, Xiaomi excels in hardware, while Apple leads in software optimization and ecosystem experience. If raw specs and battery life matter more, Xiaomi is the better choice. But for reliability, long-term support, and video excellence, the iPhone 16 Pro Max holds the edge.
