That’s where Samsung Care+ comes in, Samsung’s own version of an extended warranty-slash-damage protection plan. But as with most add-ons, the real question is: is it actually worth it, or is it just another way to squeeze a little more cash out of your purchase?

1. What is Samsung Care+, exactly?

Samsung Care+ is Samsung’s in-house device protection program that covers a wide range of repair needs—everything from cracked screens and liquid spills to hardware breakdowns and battery issues. It’s offered at the time of purchase or within 30 days of activating your device, and it can cover your phone for up to two years, depending on the plan.

A sizeable 5,200mAh battery pack powers this smartphone, which supports 15W wired fast charging via a USB Type-C port.

For photography, the rear features a 32MP camera with LED flash while the front houses an 8MP shooter for selfies and video calls. As per reports, the iPhone 17 series represents Apple’s most ambitious redesign in years, blending cutting-edge technology with a fresh aesthetic. From the ultra-thin Air to the powerhouse Pro Max, the 2025 lineup is expected to feature a new horizontally aligned camera module. Vivo has officially confirmed that the Vivo X200s will debut alongside the X200 Ultra in April in China. Today, the brand released the official renders of the X200s to showcase its color variants. At the same time, tipster Digital Chat Station has reiterated the key specifications of the X200s.

Shown above are the Vivo X200s’ fresh renders in Soft Purple and Mint Green. Unlike the Vivo X200 that debuted in October 2024, the Vivo X200s moves away from the micro-curved display, embracing a 6.67-inch flat panel with ultra-thin bezels. The screen, manufactured using BOE’s Q10 technology, features a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring a crisp and smooth visual experience. Additionally, Vivo has integrated an advanced ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for enhanced security and convenience.

The Vivo X200s will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chipset, an upgraded version of the Dimensity 9400. The D9400+ is said to retain the D9400’s architecture, comprising one Cortex-X925 ultra-core, three Cortex-X4 performance cores, and four Cortex-A720 cores. Despite its massive screen size, the TV has a borderless design that measures 24mm thick, which Hisense claims is the slimmest profile for a MicroLED TV.

The display uses 24.88 million MicroLED crystal cores to achieve a peak brightness of 10,000 nits—a figure exceeding typical OLED capabilities—with reduced risk of screen burn-in. It supports a 3,840Hz refresh rate, covers 98% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, and includes Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10+, and HDR formats. Gaming features include HDMI 2.1 ports (4K@120Hz), VRR, and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro.

The UX MicroLED TV has a dual-core architecture for simultaneous light and color control. Other features onboard the TV include a Devialet 6.2.2-channel sound system with Dolby Atmos and DTS: Virtual X, as well as split-screen viewing and audio. TCL is doubling down on Mini LED with its freshly launched Q9L Pro series—a premium TV lineup that blends high-end display tech with gamer-ready performance. Available in sizes from a living-room-friendly 55 inches all the way up to a wall-dominating 98 inches, the Q9L Pro looks like TCL’s answer to high-end home theater dreams, packed with advanced hardware and a few standout specs.

The headline feature? TCL’s custom Butterfly Star Screen, which combines HVA panel tech with a dual-layer anti-reflective film that cuts screen glare down to just 0.5%. That’s paired with TCL’s Omni-Zone local dimming system, starting at 720 zones on the 55-inch model and scaling up to a whopping 3456 zones on the 98-inch version. Peak brightness also climbs with size, from 3000 nits on the smallest set to 4500 nits on the flagship. TCL is also touting an industry-leading static contrast ratio of 7000:1, helping deliver deeper blacks and sharper detail, especially in darker scenes.

Color gets a big upgrade too. For gamers, the Q9L Pro is stacked: four full-bandwidth HDMI 2.1 ports, MEMC motion smoothing, ALLM, FreeSync Premium Pro, and support for refresh rates up to 240Hz. It even includes legacy ports like AV and antenna inputs for older devices.

From 65 inches and up, TCL adds a full-blown Onkyo 2.1.2-channel sound system with Dolby Atmos, complete with up-firing speakers and a dedicated subwoofer. The whole thing runs on TCL’s ad-free Lingxi OS 3.0 with smart features powered by its Fuxi AI model for voice control, personalization, and upscaling tech that makes 2K content look nearly 4K.

Pricing and Availability

The pricing is aggressive: 4,299 yuan (approximately $590) for the 55-inch model, 5,999 yuan (around $825) for the 65-inch, 7,499 yuan (about $1,030) for the 75-inch, 9,999 yuan (roughly $1,375) for the 85-inch, and 16,999 yuan (close to $2,340) for the massive 98-inch version. TCL is even throwing in a free wall mount and installation if you jump in early.

The company has also introduced the TCL T7L Mini LED TV series, featuring 144Hz 4K displays, 2200 nits of peak brightness, and Dolby Vision support for gaming, alongside the new Z100 soundbar—a modular, room-aware audio system built for Dolby Atmos.

Galaxy S23 launcher crashing after One UI 7 Beta 2 update: here’s why and how to avoid it

Samsung’s Galaxy S23 users diving into the One UI 7 Beta 2 are hitting a frustrating issue: the home launcher keeps crashing. While the latest beta, part of the flagship’s new testing phase, packs welcome upgrades, a pesky bug tied to Google’s Gemini assistant is souring the experience for some.

One UI 7 Beta 2 rolled out recently for the S23 series, touting fixes and enhancements like full Drawing Assist, natural language search, and Now Bar tweaks—polishing the Android 15-based update for a smoother user experience. But for several S23 owners, it’s been anything but smooth.

Gemini Live mode seems to be the culprit

The culprit? Gemini Live mode, pre-installed on recent Galaxy devices, powers the Google Assistant with the long-press power key. Things work fine while Gemini Live stays on-screen, overlaying the home interface with live notifications in the status bar.

The system UI crashes when it’s sent to the background. The One UI launcher freezes up—apps open with a tap, but gestures like swiping no longer function in that situation. Lock the phone, unlock it, and it returns to the same state. Soon enough, a “System UI isn’t responding” alert pops up, offering two choices: “Close app” to reboot the launcher (ditching all open apps) or “Wait,” which just stalls until the crash message loops again.

Touch works, but the frozen gestures and inevitable crash make it a chore. Daily drivers of the S23 series who are yet to install the Beta 2 update, are advised to wait for the next version as this one can be quite frustrating at times. Those who have already installed the update are currently stuck picking between a forced restart or “Wait”, hoping the third beta fixes the issue. For now, avoiding Gemini Live mode seems to be the only workaround.

Samsung failed to keep its promise with Galaxy A55’s One UI 7 update

Samsung promised a March rollout for the Android 15-based One UI 7 Beta on the Galaxy A55, but with April looming just minutes away, users are still empty-handed. As the only non-flagship device slated for the Beta Program, the A55’s update delay is raising questions about the company’s update policy.

While the Galaxy A55 is yet to receive the beta update, several Galaxy S and Z series devices are also currently stuck with it, and most of them are “expected” to receive the stable update starting in April. Some of them include the Galaxy S24, S23, S22 series, 6th and 5th generation foldables, and the Galaxy Tab S10, S19, and S8 series. According to the company, the stable rollout will begin starting April 7.

Galaxy A55 has yet to receive Android 15 beta

Moving back to the Galaxy A55, the One UI 7 beta rollout will be the first major OS upgrade. Unfortunately, the South Korean giant failed to keep its promise of rolling out the update within March. Despite Samsung’s Indian subsidiary teasing preparations via a Members Community noticeboard, the timeline’s slipping. And judging from the number and variety of more expensive models waiting for a stable rollout, the A55 users may have to wait till the second half of April for the update.

The recent global launch of the Galaxy A26, A36, and A56—all shipping with Android 15 and One UI 7.0 out of the box—only underscores the A55’s odd limbo. If the beta does drop soon, its testing window might be squeezed short.

Samsung clearly wants the A55 to receive Android 15 soon, but the long list of flagships that are yet to receive the update is likely causing this delay. According to Samsung, One UI 7 is built from scratch, which is why the rollout is delayed this year. The Galaxy A55 still has some time before receiving the stable Android 15 update. Even at launch, the Nintendo Switch launched with underpowered hardware. But with the Nintendo Switch 2, the upgrades to the internals will help give games extra room to breathe.

But most importantly, the console will most likely be getting its own lineup of exclusive games.

Nintendo has yet to reveal an official launch window for the Switch 2, but it will unveil the console during the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct. This event is set to take place on 2nd April 2025 at 6 PM PST. Recent leaks have suggested that the new handheld gaming console could be priced between $399 and $499 owing to upgraded hardware and other factors. So it is about $100 to $200 more expensive than the first iteration.
