Alleged Galaxy Z Flip FE key specs leak reveals 6.7-inch 120Hz display, 50MP main camera, Exynos chip

Samsung is reportedly working on an affordable flip phone called the Galaxy Z Flip FE with model number SM-F761B. In a new X post, tipster PandaFlash X has shared key details of what appears to be the Z Flip FE. The leak reveals that the device will retain many elements of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 while incorporating a few notable differences.

Key details of Galaxy Z Flip FE’s alleged prototype

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6

According to the tipster, Samsung appears to be testing a new Flip-series prototype. While he is unaware of the final name of the device, the details shared by him suggest that it could be the Galaxy Z Flip FE. The prototype features the same ultra-thin glass (UTG) and hinge mechanism as the Galaxy Z Flip 6, ensuring a familiar foldable experience.

It also shares the same 6.7-inch 120Hz display, but test results suggest a peak brightness of up to 2600 nits. The device is equipped with a 50-megapixel main camera, likely offering better imaging capabilities compared to the Flip 6’s 12-megapixel sensor.

Samsung is reportedly using an Exynos processor in this prototype instead of the Snapdragon chip seen in its predecessor. It is also built with an armour aluminium frame and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, promising durability. Other features include a flat-frame design, Wi-Fi 6E support, and 25W charging. The water-resistant structure remains intact, and it retains the same speakers and front camera as the Flip 6.

The test device runs an early version of One UI 7, aligning it with the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7. However, due to NPU limitations, some Galaxy AI features may not make it to this model. While it remains unclear whether this prototype will evolve into a commercial product, its similarities with the Z Flip 6 suggest it could be an alternative variant or an early concept for future iterations.

iPhone 17 lineup’s charging speed may disappoint you

The iPhone 17 lineup might not bring the charging speed upgrades some users are hoping for. According to a recent rumor, all the iPhone 17 models—iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max—will all support up to 35W wired charging.

Check out the latest concept render of the iPhone 17 Air.

No major charging speed improvements

The news comes from Apple supply chain analyst Jeff Pu (via MacRumors). Last year, ChargerLAB reported that the iPhone 16 Pro Max reached a peak speed of 37W (with Apple’s 140W USB-C power adapter) in their test. The standard iPhone 16 was also reported to hit a max charging speed of 38W and a sustained rate of around 20W.

So, it seems that the charging speed (or the efficiency of the charging system) will remain largely similar to last year’s models. While 35W is decent, it’s far behind the charging capabilities of most of its Android counterparts, some of which exceed 100W of input. For Apple fans, it seems the company is sticking to its gradual approach to charging technology.

Redmi Note 11 series 120W fast charging

Of course, it’s easy to assume that faster charging generates more heat and thereby degrades the battery much faster, and hence it’s bad for the battery’s longevity. However, several smartphone makers have been doing it for over four years, and we haven’t seen any report that actually backs the theory. Ultimately, it depends on the temperature (and hence the power efficiency of the charging system), which has drastically improved over the years. With the current technology, it’s definitely safe to adopt faster charging, and we hope it materializes in the near future.

What about the wireless charging?

Jeff Pu didn’t mention any changes to MagSafe wireless charging speeds for the iPhone 17 models. Currently, the iPhone 16 series supports up to 25W wireless charging with MagSafe, and it’s likely the iPhone 17 will stick to the same standard.

Nothing Phone (3a) Pro camera specs, image samples officially revealed; includes a periscope telephoto

Nothing has officially announced that its Phone (3a) series will debut on March 4 at 10 AM GMT. The lineup is expected to include two models—the Nothing Phone (3a) and the Nothing Phone (3a) Pro. According to a recent leak, both models will pack telephoto lenses, a first for the brand.

Now the company has confirmed the entire camera setup of one of the two models (likely the pro model), which includes a periscope telephoto. Notably, this is the first time the company is adding a telephoto, and the presence of a periscope suggests the telephoto uses a reasonably large sensor.

Camera specs and image samples

The camera setup a 50MP “Shake Free” main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 50MP telephoto camera with a periscope lens, an 8MP Sony-made ultrawide lens, and a 50MP front camera. According to the previous rumor, the periscope telephoto offers 3x optical zoom, 6x in-sensor zoom, and an impressive 60x “ultra” zoom capability.

Nonetheless, judging from the recent Android flagships, AI-integration also plays a crucial role in enhancing the images taken with long-range zoom, and it remains to be seen how good this aspect will be on the upcoming Nothing phones.

The main camera also gets a significant upgrade over its predecessor, the Nothing Phone (2a). The new 50MP sensor captures 64% more light at the pixel level and boasts a 300% increase in full well capacity, which essentially means better dynamic range and improved performance in challenging lighting conditions. To showcase these improvements, Nothing released a video comparing the Phone (3a) Pro’s camera with the Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max in a shootout across London.

Nothing’s integration of AI in camera

The Phone (3a) series introduces Nothing’s TrueLens Engine 3.0, which combines upgraded hardware with AI-driven tone mapping and scene detection. This promises “professional-grade, true-to-life” results, making it easier for users to capture stunning photos without needing advanced photography skills. Additionally, all four cameras support Ultra HDR, while the main and front cameras can shoot 4K video with enhanced stability and night mode capabilities.

Upcoming Galaxy A06 5G’s Indian pricing revealed by leaked official poster

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy A06 5G has been in the conversation for a while. Tipster Abhishek Yadav has now revealed the official poster of the phone, which includes the Indian pricing.

Galaxy A06 5G price

According to the poster, the phone will start at INR 10,499, which makes it one of the affordable yet reliable options that also support 5G. Samsung is also sweetening the deal with no-cost EMI options for up to eight months.

Galaxy A06 5G poster reveals pricing

In addition to that, there’s a limited-time offer on Samsung Care+, where you’ll get screen replacement coverage for a year at just INR 129 instead of the usual INR 699.

For reference, the 4G version (with 4GB RAM + 64 GB storage) is currently available on Flipkart for Rs 9,400. But the 5G version equips a more capable chipset and a faster refresh rate, which makes it worth the Rs 1,000 extra cost. Just like the 4G version, Samsung won’t include a charging adapter in the box.

Galaxy A06 5G specs and features: what we know so far

The Galaxy A06 5G is reportedly a rebranded version of the Galaxy F06 5G, which launched last week at Rs 500 less. However, the F06 5G is exclusive to Flipkart, while the A06 5G will likely be available in both online and offline stores.

Samsung Galaxy A06 launch specs price

As for the specs, the Galaxy A06 5G packs a 6.7-inch LCD with HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate—pretty decent for the price. Under the hood, it’s powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, paired with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It’ll run Android 15-based One UI 7 out of the box, which is a nice bonus for a budget device.

On the camera front, you get a dual-camera setup with a 50MP main sensor and a 2MP depth sensor, along with an 8MP selfie camera. Other features include a 5,000mAh battery with 25W charging, dual-SIM 5G support, and an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance.

iPhone SE4 cases appear on Alibaba, reaffirm design

Apple is set to launch the iPhone SE 4 at a special Apple event today at 10 AM PT (11:30 PM IST), which means we are only hours away from the official unveiling. However, ahead of the launch, the protective cases of the phone were spotted on Alibaba, which reaffirms the design suggested by the previous renders from Spigen.

As you can see in the image below, the back design of the phone remains relatively similar to the iPhone SE 3. But on the front, you finally get a notch, and a very slim bezel at the bottom. Of course, the home button on the SE lineup is finally replaced by Face ID sensors inside the notch.

Just like the iPhone SE 3, the SE 4 also appears to lack magnets for easier alignment on MagSafe accessories. The magnets on the cases almost confirm the absence of magnets inside the phone. And the back camera setup is also very similar to last year.

Rumored specifications:

The phone is expected to pack a 48MP sensor on the back (up from 12MP) and a 12MP sensor on the front (up from 7MP). Although the sensor is likely smaller than the ones on the more expensive models, it’s still expected to benefit the image processing system with more details and result into improved imaging capabilities.

On the front, the phone is expected to pack a 6.1″ display, a major upgrade over the 4.7″ one of the SE 3. The panel is also OLED this time, which suggests better colors and contrast, and overall a much improved visual experience. The panel is expected to reach 800 nits in HBM and 1200 nits in peak brightness, which is also an improvement as compared to its predecessor. For those unfamiliar, HBM refers to the maximum brightness the display reaches in direct sunlight, while the peak brightness is only triggered in a small portion of the display in certain conditions like during HDR video playback.

Nonetheless, these are still rumors, so take them with a pinch of salt. We’ll have to wait for the official unveiling for confirmation.

One UI 7 might not bring this awesome Galaxy AI feature on older devices

One UI 7 is one of the biggest software upgrades for Galaxy devices in recent years. It was released with the Galaxy S25 series at the Galaxy Unpacked event in January. The newest flagship phones running One UI 7 pack a host of software goodies, including several Galaxy AI features such as Now Bar, Now Brief, and more. Since these features were unveiled alongside One UI 7, many (including some of us at Gizmochina) assumed they would also roll out to older Galaxy devices with the update. But that won’t be the case as some Galaxy AI features may remain exclusive to the Galaxy S25 series.

Sally Jeong, EVP and Head of Framework R&D at Samsung MX, revealed some interesting details about the One UI 7 software in a recent interview published by Samsung Indonesia. She said that planning alone took more than two years before development even started. This is probably the biggest reason behind the significant delay in the release and rollout of One UI 7.

During the interview, Sally was asked about the role of NPUs and GPUs in powering these new AI features on the Galaxy S25, and the response was quite surprising. Samsung’s AI features can be divided into two categories: those that rely on on-device hardware and those that rely on the cloud. Sally said the “Personal Data Engine” in One UI 7 that powers features like Now Brief requires advanced chipsets and hardware like the Snapdragon 8 Elite on the Galaxy S25 series.

Related:
1. One UI 7 is massively delayed, but One UI 8 might arrive sooner than you think
2. Delayed One UI 7 update rollout may have led to One UI 7.1 cancellation

Sally also mentioned that cloud-based AI features, such as Circle to Search, are easier to roll out to a wide range of Galaxy devices. But for deeper on-device AI experiences, powerful hardware is required. This means some AI features that require extensive on-device processing might not come to older Galaxy devices after installing One UI 7.

The Samsung executive didn’t specify which Galaxy AI feature won’t make the cut to older Galaxy devices, nor did she reveal details about the ineligible devices. Now Brief could be one of them, which has, so far, not been seen in the One UI 7 betas for the Galaxy S24 series, as spotted by Android Police.

We’ll get to know more as and when One UI 7 starts rolling out, which is already too delayed. Samsung still hasn’t announced the rollout plans. If leaks are anything to go by, we shouldn’t expect it anytime soon, at least before April. You can read more about it in our One UI 7 section.

Apple iPhone 17 Air slim design showcased in new leaked renders

There have been plenty of rumors regarding Apple working on a new ultra slim iPhone model, which could be called the iPhone 17 Air. We recently saw the device in concept renders, and now, another set of renders has just leaked that showcase a slightly different design language. So let’s check it out.

Apple iPhone 17 Air New Renders Leaked

The Cupertino based giant’s upcoming iPhone 17 Air surfaced in a video from Front Page Tech that offers us a look at the device from all sides. Its ultra slim body is in full view, which could measure just under 6mm in thickness. But one of the biggest changes in the entire new iPhone model is the camera module. Ditching the minimalistic look from the other recent iPhones, this render showcases the iPhone 17 Air with a pill shaped module.

This appears similar to the visor on the Google Pixel smartphones. The renders are in line with previous reports, since we can only see a single camera on the back (likely a 48MP sensor) along with an LED flash module. The entire placement in this pill shaped module is different from the concept render we covered yesterday. Apple may bring the Dynamic Island on the front, while the A19 chip could power this device.

The iPhone 17 Air and Galaxy S25 Slim (Samsung’s own slim phone competitor) might also launch with the smallest batteries on a 2025 smartphone. The Air model could be borrowing its name from the brand’s MacBook Air lineup and is expected to offer a 120Hz ProMotion display, Apple’s 5G modem, the A19 chip, Wi-Fi 7, and a more durable display glass. It could launch for around 1000 US Dollars between September and October 2025. This is all the information we have at the moment, so stick around for more.
