With the Snapdragon announcement drawing near, it seems like the OnePlus 13 launch is also right around the corner. A recent sighting in a Chinese certification has also backed these expectations, so here’s what we know.

The Chinese smartphone maker’s next-gen premium device surfaced on the MIIT database. This is a major certification platform, which hints at the OnePlus 13’s imminent release. This device was spotted carrying the PJZ110 model number and was certified with 5G connectivity, a dual SIM card slot, and running on the Android operating system.

Apart from these basic specs, MIIT didn’t reveal any other notable details. But we have a fair bit of info regarding its specs thanks to various leaks and reports. OnePlus 13 is confirmed to arrive with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC. GeekBench listing showcased the smartphone with 16GB of RAM. The benchmarks also confirmed its flagship phone with Android 15 OS out of the box. Reports have claimed that a massive 6,000mAh battery pack could power this device, which supports 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging.

Interpreter is a solid need for a lot of people, and some of them want a dedicated device to do that. This time we have the Timekettle W4 Pro, a pair of AI interpreter earbuds. Like their predecessors, they have the iconic case design, but rather unique shape on the earbuds. Let’s see what these earbuds are truly capable of.

Unboxing

As you can see, the first thing Timekettle want you to know is that, when you have this device, you don’t need to panic! So these earbuds come with a squared-off metal case, a glossy surface on the top, with a logo on the top. And matte finish at the bottom, with a button in the middle, that’s for pairing.

Open it up, you know that the case is held by a magnet, quite an innovative design actually. There are labels to tell you which side is the earbud, and they should be put in the right place after use. Overall, I think the design and build are quite good, and innovative.

Features

So after you pair them up with your phone, you can use them to do translation properly.

The first feature is the One-on-one, which means you wear one earbud, and hand the other one to another person, and assign a language to each earbud, then the translation will start to work. There are two ways to have the translation results, one is text on the App, and the other is the sound to your earbuds. Based on our tests, for 2-3 conversational sentences, it usually takes 2-3 seconds to have the texts, and 4-5 seconds for the sounds. The speed is good actually.

Next, we have the Listen & Play. If you prefer to have both earbuds on your ears, or you think giving one earbud to many people is not that hygienic, then this mode will be the choice. In this mode, you use the phone to show people the translated text and voice, so when you are giving a speech, you say something, and many people will be able to hear what you have said. It also takes less time to show text than the voice, and I found that they both take less time to complete the tasks. This mode is also useful if you are listening to a speech or something, you can ask that person on the stage to wear this just for you, right? So the phone’s microphone can be a useful tool in this process.

Lastly, there is the Media Translation, which is a mode for you to have translation results from a video or audio played backstage on your phone, or a phone call with a foreigner. After trying it for a few times, I think the good thing about this feature is the accuracy, and the phone call translation can be a good way to use it. But for a media source translation, the experience is not that seamless, I mean you have both the original sound and translated voice playing directly into your ears, both loud and clear, and your brain will get a bit messy. If you have no problem concentrating on things that way, then it will work well for you.

Of course, if you are going to need offline translation, you might need to buy the packages within the app.

And also you can choose a male or a female voice for the results. I would recommend female voice, because you can also practice your language skills with the AI-Language tutor in the App. You can choose a particular topic, and then practice conversations with the tutor, this feature can help a lot of language learners. After every session from any mode, you can also review the whole conversation that happened earlier, to help you recap. There are also some other AI features in the app, if you want to, you can try to use them later.

Highlights

After using these earbuds for a few days, I still find the design very unique I must say. It has a long stem, and there are three mics at the sides, the benefit is that when the mic is closer to your mouth, it will pick up the sound a lot better. Also it has the Open-Ear concept integrated, so it protects your hearing better, helps you pick up the real sound around you, another thing is that it is more hygienic if multiple people are going to wear the same earbud over and over again.

It claims to support 40 Languages, 93 Accents, and 13 Pairs of Offline Languages. Isn’t that great, yay mate? Like for me, I always have trouble talking to people with heavy accents in English, it’s like my brain does not work well, I am sure it will help me a lot when I travel. The accuracy is also really good, I would say it’s 95%, so you can rely on it even for business occasions. It claims to have a so-called HybridComm technology, which makes the whole process clean, fast, and smart, and my experience very much supports this. So after an important business meeting maybe, you can have AI do a summary, and then form a very organized report, quite convenient.

Reports from users have started surfacing that screens of their iPhone 16 Pro models are becoming unresponsive. The news first popped up on Reddit as iPhone 16 Pro owners complained about their devices having issues with the touchscreen. Apparently, the screens of the higher end 2024 iPhones are unresponsive due to accidental touches. This problem mostly appears on the right half of the display, which is also where the new camera button is situated.

Many believed that this new button could be behind this issue. Users claimed that the touchscreen became unresponsive if their hands were in contact with the camera button. So accidentally putting your hands on the camera button causes the screen to face delay or not work at all. The Apple iPhone 16 Pro The freezing is temporary, although the home bar isn’t affected. While the issue may stem from the right half, the display becomes unresponsive on all four screen edges.

Considering how users can’t swipe or tap but the home bar remains unaffected, the issue might be related to the iPhone’s software. There’s a feature called Palm Rejection, which was even demonstrated by Khaos Tian on Mastodon. As the name suggests, it denies all touch inputs to reject any unwanted actions on the iPhone 16. This problem doesn’t seem to affect older models as he demonstrated how the iPhone 13 mini, which also has palm rejection, did not face such an issue. Apple could likely patch this out with an update if it is actually the palm rejection algorithm, although an issue with a faulty camera button might warrant a hardware fix.

However, as with any projector, it performs best in low-light or dark conditions. In well-lit environments, the image quality suffers, and the brightness becomes noticeably less effective. Nothing is likely preparing to launch a new 140W GaN charger under its sub-brand, CMF. While the company hasn’t officially announced anything about it, a new listing on Flipkart suggests the launch is imminent.

The listing, shared by a user on X (formerly Twitter), shows the charger in a matte black finish with the CMF logo and a 140W GaN inscription. It features two USB Type-C ports and one USB Type-A port on a two-pin design.

A poster accompanying the listing highlights the charger’s specifications. It mentions nine safety mechanisms and intelligent power distribution, though there’s no mention of the specific power output for each port individually or when used together.

However, the poster confirms that the charger supports PD 3.1 protocol and can charge two laptops simultaneously. For instance, it can charge a MacBook Pro to 55% in just 30 minutes.

For Nothing’s smartphones, including the CMF Phone 1 and Nothing Phone (2a), the charger can power them to 66% in 30 minutes.

Vivo has confirmed the launch date for its X200 series phone on October 14. The lineup is expected to consist of at least two new phones initially, Vivo X200 and X200 Pro. It’s only in early 2025 that we are expecting an Ultra model to join the series. However, that hasn’t stopped leaks from revealing details about it.

In a new one, the usually reliable Digital Chat Station has shed light on the processor and camera details of the phone. The tipster revealed that the phone will be powered by the “SM8750” chip which is the codename for Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. And in terms of the camera, it is said to have a 200MP periscope lens.

There’s mention of three other lenses, each with 50MP resolution. So if this leak truly corroborates to Vivo X200 Ultra, that means, Vivo is upgrading the camera setup on the X200 Ultra with four lenses, compared to three on the X100 Ultra.

Among the three 50MP cameras, one is a main module reportedly with a “fixed large aperture”. And while the tipster doesn’t specifically mention it, we assume the other two 50MP lenses are ultrawide and a telephoto lens.

In a separate leak today only, the tipster also revealed the battery size of the X200 series phone. The biggest among them is for the X200 Pro, which is said to have a 6000mAh cell. There’s a rumor of a mid-variant this time, likely called the Vivo X200 Mini, which may have a 5700mAh battery while the vanilla Vivo X200 will have a 5800mAh cell.

While the rest of the Vivo X200 series will be powered by MediaTek’s upcoming Dimensity 9400 chip, the X200 Ultra will reportedly have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip inside. It is likely to arrive with a 2K 120Hz OLED screen. At present, there is no clarity about the other specs of this phone.

Realme UI 6.0: When Will It Start Rolling Out?

Google is preparing to release Android 15 to eligible Pixel devices in October. According to a recent report, the rollout will begin on October 15. Other brands will not also release the update at this time, as they need additional time to prepare their custom skins.

Realme UI 6.0: What to Expect?

For those looking for major visual changes, Android 15 could be another disappointment, like recent Android versions. But it will bring many exciting new features, improvements, and AI upgrades you’ll want to explore.

Apple aimed to improve the camera experience by simulating the feel of a traditional camera. However, some users are not impressed. Many are calling this feature one of the most disappointing innovations by Apple to date. If that’s not enough, the repair cost of this button is mind-boggling.

1. Repair Costs Skyrocket

Reports indicate that the capacitive button is made up of nine different components, which significantly increases the likelihood of failure. If the button breaks, Apple categorizes it under “other damage,” and the repair costs are staggering. For the iPhone 16, the repair bill can reach 4,399 RMB (~US$624), and for the iPhone 16 Pro, it’s as high as 5,299 RMB (~US$751).

This is mainly because Apple tends to offer full device repairs rather than addressing individual component issues. Even small problems with the camera button are categorized as “Other damage,” which can lead to higher repair costs. Since the capacitive button consists of up to nine components, it introduces multiple potential points of failure.

2. What Went Wrong?

From Apple’s marketing materials, the intention behind the capacitive button was clear. The idea was to give users a better camera experience: light taps would open menus, swiping would adjust settings, and the button would act as a camera shutter. On paper, this sounds innovative. In practice, it’s a different story.

Users have reported that the button doesn’t work as smoothly as Apple suggests. The positioning is awkward, making it difficult to reach when holding the phone horizontally or vertically. For many, trying to use the button for photography results in poor ergonomics, making it hard to hold the phone steadily while pressing the button.

Another issue is the small interface that pops up when using the button to adjust camera settings. Many users find it cumbersome and less intuitive than simply adjusting the settings directly on the touchscreen. In short, the feature overcomplicates what should be a simple process, and the repairability cost of the button could make users more reluctant to use this new feature.

The Oppo K12x was unveiled in India at the end of July. It is on sale in the country from the beginning of August.

Originally, the handset was released in two colors, namely Breeze Blue and Midnight Violet. Over the weekend, the company announced a third color called Feather Pink.

Reports have claimed that OnePlus will announce the OnePlus 13 by the end of October in China. After the OP13, the brand is expected to unveil the OnePlus Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro as affordable flagship phones. As these are performance-focused devices, the Ace 5 series is expected to come with inferior camera sensors as compared to the OP13. In a new leak, tipster Digital Chat Sation has shed some information about the camera specifications along with some other details about the Ace 5 models.

Redmi is set to unveil the Redmi Note 14 series on Sept. 26 in China. The lineup will include three models: the Redmi Note 14, Redmi Note 14 Pro, and Redmi Note 14 Pro+. Recently, a Weibo user leaked what appears to be the complete specifications for the Note 14 Pro. However, it’s important to note that the authenticity of this leak has not been verified, so the final specifications may differ from those mentioned. It’s advisable to take this information with a pinch of salt.

Redmi Note 14 Pro specifications (rumored)

As per the leak, the Redmi Note 14 Pro will sport a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 1.5K resolution of 1220 x 2712 pixels, resulting in a pixel density of 445 PPI. It further states that the screen will cover 90 percent of the front panel and boast a peak brightness of 2500 nits. It is officially confirmed to feature Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection for the screen and an IP68-rated body. The leak claims that the device will weigh around 190 grams.

The all-new Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset will power the Redmi Note 14 Pro. It will come equipped with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage options. In China, the users will be able to choose from configurations featuring 8 GB, 12 GB, or 16 GB of RAM paired with 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB of internal storage. The smartphone will pack a hefty 5,500mAh battery with support for 67W wired charging.

In terms of photography, the Redmi Note 14 Pro’s triple camera setup will include a 50-megapixel primary sensor with OIS, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor, with support for 4K video recording at 30fps. On the front, there will be a 16-megapixel camera capable of recording 1080p video at 60fps. It is expected to run on HyperOS-based Android 14.

There is no information about the Redmi Note 14 Pro’s price. However, it is officially confirmed to arrive in shades, such as Midnight Black, Mirror Porcelain White, Twilight Purple, and Phantom Blue.
