The new phone is the Access 57 and it comes with Android Oreo (Go Edition).

Like other Android Go phones, the Access 57 packs entry-level specs but Archos decided to include an 18:9 display like you will find on other Android phones. The phone’s display is 5.7-inches but the resolution is just 960 x 480.

The Access 57 is powered by a Spreadtrum SC9832E processor clocked at 1.4GHz and paired with 1GB of RAM. There are two variants available – one with 16GB of storage which also supports 4G LTE networks and a 3G-only 8GB version. Both support storage expansion (64GB max.).

There is an 8MP camera on the back of the device and a 2MP front-facing camera for selfies. It lacks a fingerprint scanner which shouldn’t be a surprise. The phone comes pre-loaded with Google’s Android Go apps (YouTube, Maps, Gmail) and also comes with Drive, Play Music, Photos, and Duo. Archos includes its own Archos Videos and Files apps.

READ MORE: Samsung Galaxy J2 Core is the company’s first Android Go smartphone

For connectivity, there is dual SIM support, 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, a MicroUSB port and a 3.5mm audio jack. It also has an FM radio. Sadly, it doesn’t support USB OTG and lacks a compass and a gyroscope. A 2,400mah battery powers the device. It is small but seeing as the screen has a low resolution, it should suffice for a day.

The Archos Access 57 comes in Blue and is priced at €79.99. It is expected to go on sale in October.

That is why their price is usually higher than traditional smartphones with similar specs. Archos Saphir 50X is a device which has been launched to solve this issue. It is a rugged device, but it will launch in Europe with a very affordable price tag: it will cost just €149.90 in the Old Continent, which roughly translates into $183.

According to the company, this device can fall from one meter of height without any damage. Further, it has IP68 certification which makes it fully waterproof and dust-resistant. Archos Saphir 50X can be put underwater up to 1.5 meters deep for 30 minutes at max. Given that it is an affordable device, it features low-end specs. The handset is equipped with a 5-inch display which shows images at an HD resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels with the IPS LCD technology.

On the hardware side, it has a quad-core MediaTek SoC, 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. The main camera has a resolution of 13 MP, the front camera for selfies is a classic 5 MP snapper and the battery has a capacity of 4000 mAh. Archos Saphir 50X comes with Android Nougat out of the box and we do not know if it will ever update to Oreo.

Archos is best known for its smartphone range but the company has set the bar higher by manufacturing an electric scooter which strikingly looks like the Mi Electric scooter in terms of its ergonomic and minimalistic, yet beautiful design.

The electric scooter which would be officially unveiled at MWC 2018 goes by the moniker Archos Citee Connect. Not only is the electric scooter beautiful, it comes with a built-in Android phone which functions as its control interface. The smartphone sits in the middle of the handlebars of the Archos Citee Connect and features a 5-inch display. The handset is also powered by a quad-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM while there is 8GB of storage onboard. Despite its low-end specs, the smartphone runs Android Oreo out of the box and is directly connected to the motor of the scooter, giving users a unique controller for their new method of transport.

Furthermore, the smartphone comes preinstalled with custom software which helps users track their progress, see the battery level of the motor/phone, and check how fast they are going. You also get access to Google Play Store, Google Maps and several other third-party apps on the store which aids users on a trip. t’s 3G connectivity ensures that data usage runs at a fair speed while using Google Maps and other relevant apps In situ. Unfortunately, we don’t know if the smartphone is waterproof since the scooter could be in use while it is raining.

As stated earlier, the Archos Citee Connect features a design which resembles the German Red dot award-winning Mi Electric Scooter. It sports an all-black design with a few streaks of green accent on the 8.5-inch puncture-proof wheels. The motorized scooter also packs an aluminum frame which makes it light enough to be capable of reaching a range of 25 km (about 15.5 miles) on a single charge. The frame is also strong enough to withstand a weight of up to 100 kg. Archos also touts the Citee Connect as capable of reaching speeds of 25 km/h (15.5 mph). Despite the similar configuration, the Archos Citee Connect comes with an initial price tag of €399 (about $494), that’s if you are buying from the company when sales commences this April. The price will increase up to €499 when the product hits traditional store shelves in the summer. This is way higher than the Mi Electric Scooter which had an initial price of 1999 Yuan (around $239) when it first hit the market in China. But then, the cost of the smartphone could also play a factor in the higher price. Besides, it is quite difficult to beat the Chinese manufactures in terms of lowest price offers.

It will sport a 5.5-inch display, a Spreadtrum SC9850 quad-core SoC, 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. The handset features a 5.7-inch IPS LCD display that produces HD+ resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels and offers an aspect ratio of 18:9. The screen is placed under 2.5D curved glass.

Save for the Archos name that replaces the Nubia branding on the back of the phone, both devices are the same. Archos doesn’t do anything to even change the user experience.

On the official site, the Diamond Omega is said to run Android 7.1 based on NUBIA UI 5.0. It is also said to feature Nubia’s NeoPower 3.0 battery saving technology.

The Archos Diamond Omega has a 5.73-inch FHD display with a 2.5D Gorilla Glass on top. There is a Snapdragon 835 processor on board paired with 8GB of RAM. You also get 128GB of storage. These are the specs of the high end version of the Nubia Z17S.

There are dual cameras on both sides. You have a 12MP f/1.8 sensor paired with a 23MP f/2.0 sensor with 2X lossless zoom on the rear. The front cameras are two 5MP sensors with support for background blur effect.

The phone has dual SIM support (nano only), Bluetooth 4.1, dual band Wi-Fi, and a FM Radio. Supported LTE bands are 800/900/1800/2100/2600. Battery capacity is 3,100mAh and it comes with a 9V/2A fast charger.

The official site lists the Archos Diamond Omega as unavailable but is said to retail for 400 Euros (~$472). That is significantly cheaper than the ¥3,999 (~$607) price of the Nubia version.

It appears it is the first of other android devices Kodak has in its pipeline. The brand famous for its photography-related products has released two new tablets made in partnership with Archos.

The Kodak Tablet 7 and the Kodak Tablet 10 are made by French company Archos, whom recently announced a number of new phones. The tablets will also be sold and distributed by Archos.

Kodak Tablet 7

The Kodak Tablet 7 like the name says has a 7-inch 1024 x 600 display. It is powered by a MediaTek MT8321 quad-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. There is a separate microSD card slot for up to 64GB of extra storage and two mini SIM slots that support 3G networks.

The Tablet 7 has an 8MP primary camera and a 2MP front facing camera for video calls. There is Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box and a 2500mAh battery that should last up to 3.5hrs. The tablet has an audio jack and a micro USB port.

Kodak Tablet 10

The Tablet 10 is different with its bigger 10-inch 1280 x 800 display, 32GB of built-in memory, 6000mAh battery and design. Every other thing is the same as that of the Tablet 7.

Kodak bundles both tablets with Cyberlink apps that lets you edit photos and videos on the go.

The name Archos is a rearrangement of its founder’s surname, Henri Crohas. The manufacturer announced four new smartphones a few days ago, two of which are re-branded Nubia phones.

Archos Diamond Alpha

The Archos Diamond Alpha is a perfect replica of the Nubia M2 and Archos does nothing to hide it. Down to the wallpaper used in their promotional image, you know this is the Nubia M2 with a new name.

The phone has a 5.2-inch FHD screen, 4GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 652 processor. There is 64GB of storage on board and dual 13MP cameras on the back. The cameras are in the same RGB + Monochrome configuration as the Nubia M2. There is a 16MP sensor up front for selfies with support for 4K recording.

The Archos Diamond Alpha has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and keeps the signature red holo circle beneath the display. It will sell for €299 when it becomes available in July.

Archos Diamond Gamma

The Diamond Gamma is the second re-branded Nubia phone. It has a 5.5-inch HD display, 3GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 435 SoC . It has 32GB of built-in storage with the option for expansion.

The rear camera is a 13MP sensor and a 5MP selfie camera. The Diamond Gamma has a 3000mAh battery and runs Android 7. It is priced at €199.

Archos Sense 55s

The Sense 55s has a 5.5-inch FHD display that is nearly bezel-less at the top. Archos says it has a 78% screen-to-body-ratio. That’s small seeing that it is almost bezel-less on three sides. But take a look at the bottom bezel and you should understand.

It is surprising why Archos had to make it so big seeing as it only houses the front facing camera. The fingerprint scanner sits at the back just below the dual 8MP sensors and the buttons are on-screen. So why make it so big?

The Sense 55s is modest with the rest of the specs. It has 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage with an expansion slot that takes up to 128GB cards. The processor is not mentioned. There is a 3000mAh battery under the hood and Android Nougat pre-installed. It is priced at €249

Archos Sense 50x

On first look, you should already know the Sense 50X is a rugged smartphone. It has a 5-inch FHD display protected by Gorilla Glass 3. Under the hood is a Mediatek MT6737T SoC clocked at 1.5GHz paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage. There is support for storage expansion and you get a 3500mAh battery.

The Sense 50X is IP68 certified, so it will survive immersion in water up to 1.5m for 30 minutes. It is also scratch, dust and shockproof. Another feature it has is being able to work under extreme temperatures. Archos says it will have no issues running between -20°C to +55°C.

The Sense 50x will be available in July for €169.
