<p>Over the last couple of weeks, reports of the next Xbox started circulating online. While <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/microsoft/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Microsoft </a>has failed to compete with Sony&#8217;s PlayStation in the console wars, the brand isn&#8217;t giving up on consoles yet. Xbox as a platform is evolving, and the next console could be leading this charge as it combines PC gaming, cloud gaming, and other aspects. So here&#8217;s everything we know about the next Xbox.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="538" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Leaked-FTC-Documents-Discless-Cylindrical-Xbox-Series-X-2024-2-1024x538.jpg?x10805" alt="Xbox series X" class="wp-image-567858" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Leaked-FTC-Documents-Discless-Cylindrical-Xbox-Series-X-2024-2-1024x538.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Leaked-FTC-Documents-Discless-Cylindrical-Xbox-Series-X-2024-2-300x158.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Leaked-FTC-Documents-Discless-Cylindrical-Xbox-Series-X-2024-2-768x403.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Leaked-FTC-Documents-Discless-Cylindrical-Xbox-Series-X-2024-2-1536x806.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Leaked-FTC-Documents-Discless-Cylindrical-Xbox-Series-X-2024-2-696x365.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Leaked-FTC-Documents-Discless-Cylindrical-Xbox-Series-X-2024-2-1068x561.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Leaked-FTC-Documents-Discless-Cylindrical-Xbox-Series-X-2024-2-800x420.jpg 800w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Leaked-FTC-Documents-Discless-Cylindrical-Xbox-Series-X-2024-2.jpg 1600w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<h3>When it might arrive</h3>

<p>Most credible leaks and reporting point to a release window that could be between 2026 and 2027. Microsoft could be planning on launching the next Xbox sometime in 2027 or as early as late 2026. This new console is reportedly in the works at the moment, with rumors hinting at the upcoming Xbox hardware being in late stage development. If this is true, the expected release timeline puts Microsoft on a roughly seven year update cycle, which is in line with the previous generation.</p>

<h3>Hardware</h3>

<p>Under the hood, the biggest change will likely be a jump to much more powerful custom AMD silicon. Multiple sources point to an upgraded Magnus APU, which pairs Zen 6 CPU cores with RDNA 5 graphics hardware. This powerful combination might allow the next Xbox to hit 4K/120fps performance and advanced ray tracing while also enabling PC level features like AI acceleration and broader driver support. </p>

<p>Rumors even suggest a beefier memory subsystem (wider bus and GDDR7 in some leaks), which would let Microsoft push higher fidelity assets and better frame-rate targets. So simply put, the latest Xbox console would offer a major jump in performance over the Xbox Series X.</p>

<h3>It&#8217;s more than just one console</h3>

<p>Microsoft has been clear with its plans for the Xbox name. The focus isn&#8217;t on making new hardware/consoles, but also expanding cloud gaming, the Xbox Game Pass gaming library and its accessibility, and even via strategic collaborations. An example of such a partnership is with ASUS, which recently released the ROG Xbox Ally series of gaming handhelds that launched with special optimizations that made it closest to an actual portable Xbox console.</p>

<p>Soon, these hardware partners might also launch TV units and other Xbox Ally-like consoles, which would help bring &#8220;Windows in the living room&#8221; vision. It remains to be seen how the next Xbox fits in all of this, but it will likely arrive as a &#8220;true&#8221; Xbox experience, blending PC gaming level hardware with a TV console experience.</p>

<h3>Software &amp; ecosystem changes</h3>

<p>Perhaps the most strategic shift is software openness. Microsoft has publicly signaled its next Xbox won’t be locked to a single store. Rather, games could be sold across multiple storefronts, with another focus on backward compatibility with the entire Xbox library.</p>

<p>Combine that with Game Pass, cloud streaming ambitions and tighter Windows integration, and the next Xbox is less a single product and more a distributed gaming ecosystem. For consumers, this could mean more choice about where to buy games and smoother cross-device play, assuming platform partners and publishers cooperate.</p>

<h3>What this means for gamers</h3>

<p>If the leaks and early statements are accurate, gamers should expect three practical outcomes: first, significantly higher peak performance for native console titles (4K/120 and better ray tracing); second, a broader set of Xbox-branded hardware options so you can pick the device that fits your use case; and third, a more open marketplace that might reduce friction when buying games across devices. However, these upgrades likely come at a cost, with the most immediate being a more premium price tag. </p>

<p>The latest talk of the town has shed light on some interesting rumors that talk about Valve&#8217;s next gaming handheld and a new home console. While there have already been reports surrounding the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/09/23/valve-steam-deck-2-launch-date/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Steam Deck 2</a>, Valve might be getting a surprising push from <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/sony/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Sony </a>that could help take its handhelds to the next level. So here&#8217;s everything you need to know.</p>

<h2>Steam Deck 2 Leak: Zen 6 APU, New Valve Console, &amp; Sony’s Silent Support</h2>

<p>A new episode of the <em><a href="https://youtu.be/P7cYzkRjvOU" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Broken Silicon</a></em> podcast has reignited speculation around Valve’s hardware roadmap, and this time, it’s bigger than just a Steam Deck 2. Valve is reportedly developing a powerful next-gen handheld and a full fledged home console. One or both of these could be powered by AMD&#8217;s upcoming Zen 6 &#8220;Magnus&#8221; APU, which is also rumored to power the next generation of Sony and Microsoft consoles. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="538" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/valve-steam-deck-2-launch-date-1024x538.jpg?x10805" alt="steam Deck 2" class="wp-image-569227" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/valve-steam-deck-2-launch-date-1024x538.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/valve-steam-deck-2-launch-date-300x158.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/valve-steam-deck-2-launch-date-768x403.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/valve-steam-deck-2-launch-date-1536x806.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/valve-steam-deck-2-launch-date-696x365.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/valve-steam-deck-2-launch-date-1068x561.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/valve-steam-deck-2-launch-date-800x420.jpg 800w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/valve-steam-deck-2-launch-date.jpg 1600w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Steam Deck 2</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>But perhaps most intriguing is Sony’s quiet collaboration with growing support for Steam Deck. As of right now, there are already multiple PlayStation titles on the Steam Deck, with Sony also bringing custom Steam Deck boot animations for its popular games like The Last of US. This rumor highlights how Sony doesn&#8217;t look at Valve or Microsoft as competitors; rather, it makes the Steam Deck its unofficial PlayStation handheld. </p>

<p>The podcast further discusses Valve&#8217;s first home console, which could debut alongside the Steam Deck 2. SteamOS continues to grow in popularity compared to Windows powered handhelds. So it could just be a matter of time before Valve becomes the next big player in the console segment. </p>

<p>The Japanese console giant has been tight-lipped about its next-generation console, but leaks haven&#8217;t stopped peering into it. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/01/09/nintendo-switch-2-logo-leaked/">Nintendo Switch 2 logo</a> has also been leaked recently, which looks very similar to the last one. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Nintendo-Switch-2-render-1024x576.jpg?x10805" alt="" class="wp-image-668201" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Nintendo-Switch-2-render-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Nintendo-Switch-2-render-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Nintendo-Switch-2-render-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Nintendo-Switch-2-render-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Nintendo-Switch-2-render-2048x1152.jpg 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Nintendo-Switch-2-render-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Nintendo-Switch-2-render-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Nintendo-Switch-2-render-1920x1080.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Nintendo-Switch-2-render-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Thanks to 91mobiles and OnLeaks, we now have high-quality renders and a 360-degree video of the highly awaited Nintendo Switch 2. The much-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 with a larger screen, bigger controllers, and several design tweaks seems to take things to the next level.</p>

<h2>What the renders reveal</h2>

<p>Leaks have shown an in-depth view of the new design. On top, it features a power button and volume rocker on the right, with the game card slot located on the left. This hints at the fact that Switch 2 is probably going to have backward compatibility with titles that exist in the existing Switch &#8211; a real gamer&#8217;s delight if he has an enormous library.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" data-id="668204" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Screenshot-2025-01-10-181634-1024x576.png?x10805" alt="" class="wp-image-668204" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Screenshot-2025-01-10-181634-1024x576.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Screenshot-2025-01-10-181634-300x169.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Screenshot-2025-01-10-181634-768x432.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Screenshot-2025-01-10-181634-1536x864.png 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Screenshot-2025-01-10-181634-696x392.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Screenshot-2025-01-10-181634-1068x601.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Screenshot-2025-01-10-181634-747x420.png 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Screenshot-2025-01-10-181634.png 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>
</figure>

<p>A 3.5mm headphone jack also makes an appearance, perfect for users who still cherish their wired headphones. Right next to it is a USB Type-C port, expected to handle charging. This addresses a common complaint with the current Switch design, which makes charging cumbersome, especially in tabletop mode. There’s also a mysterious sensor on the top—possibly an ambient light sensor.</p>

<p>The console has a minimalist bottom that is a central dock with guide pins on both sides and has two speaker openings on both sides of the setup. On the back of the device is a strong &#8216;U&#8217; kickstand, much improved over the Switch OLED&#8217;s kickstand that itself was an improvement over the flimsy stand on the original Switch.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Nintendo-Switch-2-render-2-1024x576.jpg?x10805" alt="" class="wp-image-668202" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Nintendo-Switch-2-render-2-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Nintendo-Switch-2-render-2-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Nintendo-Switch-2-render-2-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Nintendo-Switch-2-render-2-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Nintendo-Switch-2-render-2-2048x1152.jpg 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Nintendo-Switch-2-render-2-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Nintendo-Switch-2-render-2-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Nintendo-Switch-2-render-2-1920x1080.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Nintendo-Switch-2-render-2-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>The Joy-Cons retain the same layout as before; there are the &#8216;+&#8217; and &#8216;-&#8216; buttons, D-Pad, and sticks. But they are slightly bigger and now carry a mystical new button above the &#8216;Home&#8217; button on the right Joy-Con. On the back side, there&#8217;s a new trigger button beside &#8216;ZL&#8217; and &#8216;ZR&#8217; to detach the Joy-Cons. The tight placement of these buttons could be an issue during gameplay.</p>

<h2>A much larger display</h2>

<p>According to OnLeaks, the Nintendo Switch 2 will pack a significantly larger 8.4-inch display. For context, the current Switch OLED has a 7-inch screen, and the standard Switch comes in at 6.2 inches. This is probably going to enhance the handheld gaming experience even further.</p>

<p>Gaming has a long standing debate about which platform is the definitive choice. This argument pits PC gamers against console gamers, with both sides having their own pros and cons. I&#8217;ve already discussed all the reasons why you <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/12/20/why-consider-buying-gaming-consoles/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">should consider buying gaming consoles</a>. So now, let&#8217;s have a look at why Gaming PCs are simply superior.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="751" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/omen_snowball_glass_shadowblack_lifestyle-1024x751.jpg?x10805" alt="HP OMEN 35L Gaming Desktop" class="wp-image-659561" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/omen_snowball_glass_shadowblack_lifestyle-1024x751.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/omen_snowball_glass_shadowblack_lifestyle-300x220.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/omen_snowball_glass_shadowblack_lifestyle-768x563.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/omen_snowball_glass_shadowblack_lifestyle-1536x1127.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/omen_snowball_glass_shadowblack_lifestyle-696x511.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/omen_snowball_glass_shadowblack_lifestyle-1068x783.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/omen_snowball_glass_shadowblack_lifestyle-573x420.jpg 573w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/omen_snowball_glass_shadowblack_lifestyle-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/omen_snowball_glass_shadowblack_lifestyle.jpg 1636w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<h3>Superior Performance and Graphics</h3>

<p>Gaming PCs lead in breakthrough innovation thanks to cutting edge technology. This enables the platform leads to lead the charge in performance. When buying a high-end gaming rig, you can expect GPUs and CPUs that take the gaming experience to the next level. Unlike consoles with their set performance and settings, PCs are able to deliver higher frame rates, smoother gameplay, and superior graphical fidelity. </p>

<p>When games are ported from consoles to PCs, they get a visual enhancement just for the platform, to take advantage of beefy specs on PCs. Of course, not everyone has a NASA spaceship grade computer, but there is still a good number of gamers with PCs that support 4K or ultra wide resolution, ray tracing, and much more. Typical console games are locked in 30 to 60 fps, but gaming PCs easily hit the triple digit numbers which is particularly handy in online multiplayer titles like <em>Counter-Strike 2</em> or <em>Valorant</em>.</p>

<h3>Customization and Upgradability</h3>

<p>Once you buy a console, you are still with that model for the rest of its life till you decide to upgrade. However, PCs are upgradeable. You can swap out outdated parts with newer components to give a nice performance boost. Customizability is another major advantage as you can choose each specification to meet your budget or meet a good price-to-performance ratio.</p>

<h3>Wide Gaming Library &amp; Mods</h3>

<p>While console gamers often boast exclusive titles, PC as a platform has the most number of exclusives. Some might not even be that well known but by sheer volume, it is the undisputed king. Counter-Strike is another great example as it is one of the biggest multiplayer titles in the gaming industry. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="768" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/PC-gaming-1024x768.jpg?x10805" alt="Gaming PCs are better than Consoles" class="wp-image-665744" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/PC-gaming-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/PC-gaming-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/PC-gaming-768x576.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/PC-gaming-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/PC-gaming-2048x1536.jpg 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/PC-gaming-696x522.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/PC-gaming-1068x801.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/PC-gaming-1920x1440.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/PC-gaming-560x420.jpg 560w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/PC-gaming-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/PC-gaming-265x198.jpg 265w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Also, PC Gaming setups just look superior (Pic credits: CSGoat ROBOcop)</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>There are also healthy options for gaming libraries that bring a wide selection of games. These games are also much more affordable in these online libraries. One of the biggest advantages of PC gaming is undoubtedly the modding side. Mods can enhance or change the way you play your favorite games.</p>

<h3>Multi-Purpose Functionality</h3>

<p>Moving away from gaming, consoles still doubles as a multimedia tool for entertainment. However, PCs are easily more versatile. It can be used to edit videos, music, pictures, stream games, graphic designing, office work, and much more. So computers serve a multipurpose role outside of gaming and entertainment, including productivity.</p>

<h3>Conclusion</h3>

<p>While consoles have their appeal, gaming PCs outshine them in performance, customization, and versatility. For gamers who value cutting-edge technology, flexibility, and long-term value, a PC is the ultimate gaming platform. Whether you&#8217;re an enthusiast or just starting out, the investment in a gaming PC offers a richer and more rewarding experience than consoles ever could.</p>

<p>The ninth-generation console wars are in full swing. Both Sony and Microsoft are continuing their efforts to attract gamers with the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/PlayStation-5/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">PlayStation 5</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Xbox-Series-S/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Xbox Series S</a>/<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Xbox-Series-x/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">X</a>. However, if you think there&#8217;s a clear race so far, you&#8217;re mistaken because the competition is about to get even tougher. Nintendo, which broke record after record with its <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Nintendo-Switch/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Switch</a> console introduced in 2017, is gearing up to unveil its next-generation <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/handheld/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">handheld</a> device. Moreover, according to the latest information, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Nintendo-Switch-2/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Nintendo Switch 2</a> is expected to be revealed in 2024 and was secretly showcased at the Gamescom 2023. Here are the details&#8230;</p>

<h2><strong>Mysterious Nintendo Switch 2 Showcased at Gamescom 2023</strong></h2>

<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Nintendo-Switch/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Nintendo Switch </a>has been available for over six years, and its successor is eagerly anticipated by gamers. Although a new version is on the way, we previously reported various leaks about the next-generation Switch, including details about its hardware, pricing, and developer kit. Now, it turns out that Nintendo secretly showcased the next-gen Switch hardware to select media and developers during <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Gamescom/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Gamescom</a> 2023.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper">
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-width="550" data-dnt="true"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Heard some rumors recently that Nintendo maybe showed/maybe discussed the new Switch behind closed doors to select press/devs @ Gamescom. <br><br>Full reveal/leaks may be relatively imminent.</p>&mdash; Jez (@JezCorden) <a href="https://twitter.com/JezCorden/status/1696585141299073440?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">August 29, 2023</a></blockquote><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
</div></figure>

<p>If the rumors turn out to be true, we could soon hear an official announcement about new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Nintendo-Switch-2/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Nintendo Switch 2</a>. This fits with previous leaks suggesting that Nintendo&#8217;s main partners have already received developer kits and plan to release games in the latter half of 2024. Earlier this year, Nintendo stated in its financial reports that they expect sales for the current Switch model to slow down. </p>

<p>As of June 30, the Switch has sold over 129.5 million units worldwide. A report from the international gaming news site GamesIndustry.biz states that as of July 2023, the Switch has even outsold the Wii in the U.S. In terms of U.S. sales, it&#8217;s now less than 1 million units behind the Xbox 360 and fewer than 5 million units behind the PS2.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/nintendo-switch-2-gamescom-1024x576.jpeg?x10805" alt="Nintendo Switch 2" class="wp-image-562796" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/nintendo-switch-2-gamescom-1024x576.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/nintendo-switch-2-gamescom-300x169.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/nintendo-switch-2-gamescom-768x432.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/nintendo-switch-2-gamescom-696x392.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/nintendo-switch-2-gamescom-1068x601.jpeg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/nintendo-switch-2-gamescom-747x420.jpeg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/nintendo-switch-2-gamescom.jpeg 1280w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p><strong>What to Expect from Nintendo Switch 2</strong></p>

<p>Based on recent rumors, the upcoming Nintendo Switch will be priced at $399.99. The new console is expected to have a custom Nvidia Tegra T239 processor and a 1080p or 720P display. It will also support 24 Gbps HDMI 2.1, 10-bit HDR, and 4K output at 60 frames per second. However, it won&#8217;t have a 120Hz refresh rate. In terms of memory and storage, the console is rumored to come with 16 GB of RAM and 128GB of built-in storage.</p>

<p>Phasmophobia is an immersive and spine-chilling video game that gained popularity among horror enthusiasts back when the pandemic was raging. Developed by Kinetic Games, this multiplayer psychological horror game puts players in the shoes of paranormal investigators tasked with exploring haunted locations and finding evidence of supernatural activity. With a cooperative multiplayer mode, players can team up with friends to brave the eerie environments together, using a variety of ghost-hunting equipment such as EMF readers, spirit boxes, and thermometers to detect and communicate with spirits. Phasmophobia&#8217;s unpredictable ghost behaviour and the need for careful investigation make each playthrough a thrilling and unpredictable adventure. The experience, which was previously limited to <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/PC">PC</a>, will now be available for console users. </p>

<h3>The Horror game has a multiplayer cooperative mode for engaging team gameplay</h3>

<p>Kinetic Games is bringing their spine-chilling experience to a wider audience with the release of the title on <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/playstation-5">PlayStation 5</a>,<a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/playstation-vr2"> PlayStation VR2</a>, and <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/xbox-series-x">Xbox Series X/S</a> in early access this August. Whether players missed out on the original version or simply want to relive the fond memories, this exciting news is sure to send shivers down their spines. While the console launch comes three years after the game&#8217;s initial debut on PC, its dedicated fan base remains strong, with over 10,800 average daily players on <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/steam">Steam</a> as of now. The arrival on PlayStation and Xbox platforms not only expands the game&#8217;s reach but also provides PC gamers with a chance to cross-platform play with console players. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="616" height="353" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/capsule_616x353.jpg?x10805" alt="Phasmophobia" class="wp-image-544173" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/capsule_616x353.jpg 616w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/capsule_616x353-300x172.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 616px) 100vw, 616px" /></figure></div>

<p>Phasmophobia has a console-friendly interface as well, which will definitely make it easier for the game to run on a variety of consoles. And as mentioned previously, the game will also be available in <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/virtual-reality">VR</a>. It will definitely add a touch of realism to the already terrifying game, so stay tuned as user reviews will probably shed more light on this when it comes out. </p>

<p>The eighth-generation console wars have come to an end with the introduction of the PS5 and the Xbox Series S/X. Sony, with the PS4, was the company that managed to sell the most products. Although the Xbox side did not meet expectations, the real surprise came from Nintendo. The Switch, introduced in 2017, exceeded everyone&#8217;s expectations and has become the popular handheld console that has outsold the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/PlayStation-4/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">PS4</a>. Here are the details&#8230;</p>

<h2><strong>The Nintendo Switch has outsold the PS4, but Nintendo sees tougher times ahead</strong></h2>

<p>According to the latest reports, the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/nintendo-switch/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Nintendo Switch</a> has sold over 122.5 million units as of the end of 2022, surpassing both the legendary Game Boy and Sony&#8217;s PlayStation 4 to become the third best-selling gaming console of all time. However, looking at the last nine months of 2022, we see that sales have dropped to 14.91 million from 18.95 million during the same period the previous year. Additionally, total revenue has declined by 5.6%.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/nintendo-switch-beat-sony-ps4-become-third-best-selling-console-1024x576.jpeg?x10805" alt="Nintendo Switch " class="wp-image-514925" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/nintendo-switch-beat-sony-ps4-become-third-best-selling-console-1024x576.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/nintendo-switch-beat-sony-ps4-become-third-best-selling-console-300x169.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/nintendo-switch-beat-sony-ps4-become-third-best-selling-console-768x432.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/nintendo-switch-beat-sony-ps4-become-third-best-selling-console-696x392.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/nintendo-switch-beat-sony-ps4-become-third-best-selling-console-1068x601.jpeg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/nintendo-switch-beat-sony-ps4-become-third-best-selling-console-747x420.jpeg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/nintendo-switch-beat-sony-ps4-become-third-best-selling-console.jpeg 1280w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>There are two basic reasons for this. Firstly, game sales fell by 4% despite the release of the new Pokemon Scarlet/Violet titles (which totaled an impressive 20.61 million units), unable to offset the decline. The second reason is the inability to supply enough products in the market due to the global chip crisis. Although the number of products has increased with the disappearance of the pandemic from our lives, this time demand has decreased.</p>

<p>Although the company has lowered its expectations for next year, exclusive games could change that. Titles like Zelda, which has a massive fanbase, can drive much higher console sales on its own. Another highlight in the company&#8217;s report is the preference of users. While sales of the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/nintendo-switch/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Nintendo Switch</a> with an OLED screen increased, there was a decrease in sales of the standard and lite models. This indicates that users want better and more powerful hardware.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/nintendo-switch-beat-sony-ps4-become-third-best-selling-console-1-1024x576.jpeg?x10805" alt="Nintendo Switch OLED" class="wp-image-514924" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/nintendo-switch-beat-sony-ps4-become-third-best-selling-console-1-1024x576.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/nintendo-switch-beat-sony-ps4-become-third-best-selling-console-1-300x169.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/nintendo-switch-beat-sony-ps4-become-third-best-selling-console-1-768x432.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/nintendo-switch-beat-sony-ps4-become-third-best-selling-console-1-696x392.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/nintendo-switch-beat-sony-ps4-become-third-best-selling-console-1-1068x601.jpeg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/nintendo-switch-beat-sony-ps4-become-third-best-selling-console-1-747x420.jpeg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/nintendo-switch-beat-sony-ps4-become-third-best-selling-console-1.jpeg 1280w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>It&#8217;s worth remembering that the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/nintendo-switch/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Nintendo Switch</a> just surpassing the<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/PlayStation-4/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> PlayStation 4</a> in sales does not mean it is taking the lead in the eighth-generation console wars. Sony and Microsoft have prioritized the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, while Nintendo has not yet shown a new console that it is working on and continues to sell the device, which was released in 2017, with minor improvements. For this reason, it is possible to say that the PS4, which has sold approximately 120 million units, is still the winner!</p>

<p>Nintendo said last year that the transition to its next console is &#8220;a major focus for us,&#8221; and it could start becoming more urgent soon. It&#8217;ll be interesting to see if the Switch can hang around long enough to become the best selling console of all time, but Nintendo will have to sell around 33 million more units to surpass the PlayStation 2.</p>

The move is similar to Valve&#8217;s decision to release SteamOS 3, which powers the Steam Deck, as a way to have more control over the user experience. Here are the details…</p>

<h3><strong>Ayaneo confirm their Linux-based Ayaneo OS arrives this year</strong></h3>

<p>When they previously talked about the Linux-based <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/ayaneo/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Ayaneo OS</a>, they said &#8220;<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/ayaneo/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Ayaneo</a> team loves games and game consoles as well. In the process of creating the best Windows handheld in the world, they found that the existing operating system in the new form of PC handheld still has many poor experiences, and even some problems that we can&#8217;t be solved. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/ayaneo-confirms-the-release-of-their-linux-based-ayaneo-os-1024x576.jpeg?x10805" alt="Ayaneo OS" class="wp-image-509596" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/ayaneo-confirms-the-release-of-their-linux-based-ayaneo-os-1024x576.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/ayaneo-confirms-the-release-of-their-linux-based-ayaneo-os-300x169.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/ayaneo-confirms-the-release-of-their-linux-based-ayaneo-os-768x432.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/ayaneo-confirms-the-release-of-their-linux-based-ayaneo-os-1536x864.jpeg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/ayaneo-confirms-the-release-of-their-linux-based-ayaneo-os-696x392.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/ayaneo-confirms-the-release-of-their-linux-based-ayaneo-os-1068x601.jpeg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/ayaneo-confirms-the-release-of-their-linux-based-ayaneo-os-747x420.jpeg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/ayaneo-confirms-the-release-of-their-linux-based-ayaneo-os.jpeg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>&#8220;In order to allow everyone to enjoy the game and the handheld hardware better, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/ayaneo/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Ayaneo</a> has launched the Ayaneo OS, which is based on the Linux system and developed exclusively.&#8221; The company also mentioned that it will be using Proton, a compatibility layer that allows Windows games to run on Linux.</p>

<p>Recently, Ayaneo successfully completed an IndieGoGo crowdfunding campaign for the Ayaneo 2 and GEEK models, both of which feature an AMD Ryzen 6800U. The campaign garnered $3,157,147 in donations and 2,680 donations, and is currently in a pre-order-like demand phase.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/ayaneo-confirms-the-release-of-their-linux-based-ayaneo-os-1-1024x576.jpeg?x10805" alt="Ayaneo OS" class="wp-image-509597" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/ayaneo-confirms-the-release-of-their-linux-based-ayaneo-os-1-1024x576.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/ayaneo-confirms-the-release-of-their-linux-based-ayaneo-os-1-300x169.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/ayaneo-confirms-the-release-of-their-linux-based-ayaneo-os-1-768x432.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/ayaneo-confirms-the-release-of-their-linux-based-ayaneo-os-1-1536x864.jpeg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/ayaneo-confirms-the-release-of-their-linux-based-ayaneo-os-1-696x392.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/ayaneo-confirms-the-release-of-their-linux-based-ayaneo-os-1-1068x601.jpeg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/ayaneo-confirms-the-release-of-their-linux-based-ayaneo-os-1-747x420.jpeg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/ayaneo-confirms-the-release-of-their-linux-based-ayaneo-os-1.jpeg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>While Ayaneo&#8217;s crowdfunding campaign has been successful, it&#8217;s still only a fraction of Steam Deck sales, which have surpassed 1 million units sold as of October 2022.
