Samsung is gearing up to launch its latest flagship level Exynos SoC next year. This chip has been highly anticipated since AMD is working on its GPU. Although, a new leak has revealed that the performance gains might be disappointing.

According to @AhmedQwaider888, the South Korean tech giant’s cooperating with Team Red might not bring a big breakthrough. The tipster revealed that the Exynos 2200 might only offer a 5 percent gain over the Exynos 2100, while its GPU performance is higher by around 17 percent. By comparison, the Exynos 2100 offered a sizeable 30 percent gain in CPU and a 40 percent bump in GPU performance over the Exynos 990 SoC. In other words, the Exynos 2200 is offering quite lackluster growth. But, there is still hope for the new chipset.

While the leak shares modest performance improvements, there is one area where the upcoming chip shines. The Exynos 2200 SoC feature an NPU (Neural Processing Unit) that offers a whopping 117 percent performance boost in terms of artificial intelligence (AI). Through this, we can expect improvements in various areas like the Bixby voice assistance that could be faster. Similarly, other AI powered tasks will also receive a boost, including photography.

Although the figure points at just a 17 percent raw GPU performance growth, AMD being a pioneer in this field. So, it might have the SoC offer other kinds of improvements and optimizations. This could be in the form of better support for 3D games to enable a smoother gaming experience in high graphical fidelity titles. Another notable inclusion could be ray tracing support as well. Albeit, this would likely be a cutdown version compared to its PC counterpart. A South Korean publication recently reported that Samsung has canceled the Galaxy S21 Fan Edition launch event in South Korea. Samsung had added the Galaxy S21 FE support pages on its regional websites for Hong Kong, Singapore, South Africa, and other markets. It was recently found that the company has deleted those support pages, which further suggested that the company may have canceled it. Amidst rumors of its cancellation, a variant of the Galaxy S21 FE has received approval from the Federal Communications Commission.

The FCC listing of the Galaxy S21 FE, which was first spotted by Simran Pal, has an SM-G990E model number. It appears to be the Exynos edition of the smartphone. Its Snapdragon variant had seemingly received FCC certification back in June.

The FCC documents show that the S21 FE was manufactured at Samsung’s facility in Thain, Nguyen, Vietnam and it was tested between Aug. 24 and Aug. 31. The FCC certificate was issued on Sept. 2. The listing further reveals that the device’s package may include a pair of earbuds, a data cable, and a 25W charger with EP-TA800 model number.

Reports have claimed that Samsung may have decided to cancel the Galaxy S21 FE due to the ongoing global chip shortage issue. The FCC certification does not guarantee a launch but gives a ray of hope that it may break cover this month.

Galaxy S21 FE specifications

Past reports have claimed that the Galaxy S21 FE could be coming with a 6.4-inch S-AMOLED 120Hz FHD+ display, Snapdragon 888 / Exynos 2100 chipset, up to 12 GB of RAM, up to 256 GB of storage, and a 4,500mAh battery. It may feature a 32-megapixel selfie camera and a 12-megapixel (main, with OIS) + 12-megapixel (ultrawide) + 8-megapixel (telephoto) triple camera unit.

When the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE appeared with full specs at the TENAA certification platform of China back in July, it was speculated that it may get an early launch. Earlier this month, it was reported that the S21 FE may debut in October. Fresh information that has appeared on DDaily, a South Korean publication today reveals that the company has canceled the S21 FE.

As per the report, a Samsung Electronics official has said that the company has canceled the Galaxy S21 Fan Edition (FE) Unpacked event, which was scheduled to take place in mid-October. He further said that the company seems to be considering not releasing the S21 FE at all.

The report mentions that the reason for canceling the event is that the Galaxy Z Flip 3 is selling too well. The other issue that has reportedly resulted in the cancelation of the S21 FE is the ongoing global chip shortage issue.

Samsung introduced the Galaxy Z Flip 3 in August with aggressive pricing of $999. It not only comes with updated specs but also an improved design. It is powered by the same Snapdragon 888 SoC, which is also expected to be seen on the S21 FE. It appears that the company is internally discussing that it would be ideal to focus on the parts and production of the Z Flip 3 instead of launching the S21 FE.

Apart from appearing at TENAA in July, the S21 FE’s Exynos 2100 and Snapdragon 888 SoC variants were seen at other places like Geekbench and Google Play Console recently. A support page of the handset had also gone live earlier this month, which indicated that it could be launching in October.

There is a possibility that the new report about the cancelation of S21 FE could be only applicable to South Korea. The reason behind it is that it was reported by another South Korean publication FN News in June that the S21 FE will be releasing in limited markets. It claimed that the smartphone will not be releasing in South Korea and Japan, but it will be coming to markets like the U.S. and Europe. It was reported last week that the company has produced 10,000 units of the S21 FE due to the chip shortage issue.

The support page of the upcoming Galaxy S21 FE went live on Samsung Germany’s website last week. Now, an updated support page for Play Services for AR (formerly known as ARCore) includes the Galaxy S21 Fan Edition in the list of supported devices (via). These findings are a good hint that its launch could be near.

There is no information on the specs of the S21 Fan Edition on Google’s page. However, several reports have revealed plenty of information on its specifications and design. Rumors have it that Samsung may unveil it in October.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Fan Edition specifications

The Galaxy F21 FE will be featuring a 6.5-inch AMOLED panel with a centrally positioned punch-hole. It will carry support for FHD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and an in-screen fingerprint scanner. The handset will possess a front camera of 32-megapixel.

The rear camera system of the S21 FE will comprise a 12-megapixel primary camera with OIS support, a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens, an 8-megapixel telephoto snapper with 3x optical zoom, and an LED flash. The device will come preinstalled with One UI based Android 11 OS.

Depending on the market, the Galaxy S21 Fan Edition may come with Snapdragon 888 or Exynos 2100 SoC.  The budget flagship may include 8 GB of RAM and it may come in 128 GB and 256 GB storage options. It may house a 4,500mAh battery that may carry support for 25W rapid charging, wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging. Last week, news broke out that the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE will be delayed until October. Most importantly, the same report said that the smartphone will be limited to the US and Europe. Now, days later, another report reiterates the handset’s launch timeline, however, it suggests a different availability.

According to a report by Maeil Economic Daily (via FrontTron), the Galaxy S21 FE will be released in Q4 2021. The handset was supposed to launch in August. The reason for the delay is none other than the global semiconductor shortage.

Samsung is facing difficulties in procuring the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset for the successor of Galaxy S20 FE. Hence, the older report stated that the smartphone will be only launching in the US and Europe.

But now, the latest report says that the South Korean tech giant will be using its in-house Exynos 2100 SoC alongside the Snapdragon 888 to compensate for the shortage.

Unfortunately, it’s not known what region will be getting which variant of the device. But most likely, Samsung will release the Snapdragon 888 version in the US and Europe since they are the company’s key markets other than its home country South Korea.

Samsung‘s in-house chipset utilised on the Galaxy S20 series, the Exynos 990 was a disappointing chipset sort of, as it failed to match the Snapdragon 865. The Exynos 2100 was released as an improvement over the Exynos 990 and to take on the Snapdragon 888 with an improved power efficiency when compared to the previous model. However, the chipset doesn’t seem to match up the capabilities of the Snapdragon 888.

A holistic test result of the Exynos 2100 in comparison to the Snapdragon 888 in terms of the performance and power efficiency has now been published by the guys at AnandTech. The test was carried out using the two variants of the Galaxy S21 Ultra running Exynos 2100 and Snapdragon 888 processors. The team performed several tests on both devices which suggest that Samsung’s 5nm (5LPE) fabrication process brings some improvements to the Exynos 2100 in terms of power efficiency compared to their predecessors.

However, the Exynos 2100 is on par with TSMC’s 7nm process (N7P) and doesn’t measure up to the more advanced 5nm process. As a result, Qualcomm’s SD888 fared better in many of the tasks than the Exynos 2100 and also consumes less power. The exynos 2100 throttles earlier than the Snapdragon 888 counterpart which then slows down the performance when the load is sustained.

The reviewer even kept the Galaxy S21 Ultra with an Exynos 2100 chip in a freezer and kept the Snapdragon 888 version in front of a fan while performing benchmark tests. Surprising, the two devices still output almost similar results. What this portends is that the Exynos 2100 will most likely throttle under real-world scenarios.

The benchmark tests also show that the Exynos 2100 has a higher power consumption of up to 18-35% compared to the Snapdragon 888. The battery life will bear the brunt of this high power consumption. Both PCMark Work 2.0 and web browsing battery life test confirm that the Galaxy S21 Ultra Snapdragon 888 version lasts longer on a single charge compared to the Exynos 2100 version of the same flagship phone.

The latest benchmark report on Samsung’s flagship processor the Exynos 2100 may have confirmed that the hype and buzz around the processor weren’t misplaced after all. The Exynos 2100, as per the benchmark numbers, has made significant improvements in power efficiency and overall performance in comparison with its predecessor, the Exynos 990.

The benchmark surfaced on YouTube via the account Golden Reviewer and contains performance and power efficiency ratings for premium smartphone processors between 2020 and 2021.

The Exynos 990’s M5 (big) and Cortex-A76 (mid) CPU cores got 30.95 points and 21.54 points, respectively, while the Exynos 2100’s Cortex-X1 (big) and Cortex-A78 (mid) CPU cores garnered 39.61 points and 35.71 points, respectively.

In terms of power efficiency, the Exynos 2100 also surpassed the 990 for both big and medium CPU cores. reflecting massive improvements over the 990. The implication is that after taking some flak in the aftermath of the Exynos 990, the tech giant silently worked on a solution that has proved very solid.

The Exynos 2100 may therefore be the reason why Galaxy S21 models performed better, with longer battery life than the Galaxy S20 devices.

However, the Exynos 2100 could not outperform the latest Snapdragon processor, the Snapdragon 888. It has a slightly better CPU performance and power efficiency compared to the Exynos 2100 but The latest mobile processor offering from Samsung is still better than the Snapdragon 865+ and the Kirin 9000.

The GPU of the Snapdragon 888 is marginally better than the Exynos 2100, although the Exynos 2100 seems to have a better power management rating as it is cooler when compared to the Snapdragon 888. A YouTube video has shown Exynos and Snapdragon versions of the Galaxy S21 running various CPU, GPU, and overall benchmarks. The heat and temperature measurements for the Exynos was better.

Samsung has finally announced the Galaxy S21 series of smartphones. These new phones – the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 Plus – have been announced much earlier than their predecessors. The two phones have a new design, new chipsets, upgraded cameras, but also lose some features and accessories from the last generation.

Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21+ Design

The several leaks that surfaced before today have already shown us what the two phones look like but it is still worth talking about.

Both phones have a centered punch hole for the selfie camera. It is an Infinity-O display as Samsung likes to call it. But the more interesting part of the design is the new Contour Cut Camera housing that blends into the phone’s frame. Samsung describes it as a sleek, yet striking aesthetic.

The front of the two phones is covered in Gorilla Glass Victus while the back of the S21 is glasstic and that of the S21 Plus is glass. The phones will be available in Phantom Black, Phantom Pink, Phantom Violet, and Phantom Silver. Color availability varies from market to market.

Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 Plus Specifications

The Galaxy S21 has a 6.2-inch screen while the Galaxy S21 Plus has a 6.7-inch screen. Both are flat Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays with a 2400 x 1080 resolution and an adaptive refresh rate (48Hz to 120Hz). The refresh rate is adjusted automatically based on the content you are viewing. Samsung also said there is a new Eye Comfort Shield that automatically adjusts the blue light based on the time of the day.

The Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 Plus come with either the Exynos 2100 or the Snapdragon 888 depending on the market. You get 8GB of RAM on both phones and can choose between 128GB or 256GB of storage. There is no longer support for storage expansion, which is disappointing.

The two phones feature the same number of cameras on both sides. The front-facing camera is a 10MP Dual Pixel AF camera with an F 2.2 aperture, a 1.22µm pixel size, and an 80° field of view.

The cameras pack lots of new features. For example, the 64MP camera can record in 8K at 24 FPS. Samsung says you will be able to get high-res 33MP photos from the 8K videos you record. There are also up to 6 different portrait photo features to choose from.

The Galaxy S21 has a 4000mAh battery while the Galaxy S21 Plus has a 4800mAh battery. They both support 25W fast wired charging (charger not included in the box but you get a USB-C cable) and 15W wireless charging. There is also support for 9W reverse wireless charging. You also get an IP68 rating, NFC, UWB, and an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. They also run Android 11 with One UI 3 out of the box.

Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 Plus Price and Availability

The Galaxy S21 starts at $799 while the Galaxy S21+ starts at $999. Both phones will be available for purchase starting on January 29. Pre-order goes live tomorrow and those who pre-order (at least in Europe) get a free pair of Galaxy Buds Live and a Samsung SmartTag for free.

The Exynos 2100 was announced yesterday as Samsung’s latest flagship processor. It is expected to make its debut tomorrow inside the Galaxy S21 series that will be sold in some markets. In other regions such as the United States and China, the Galaxy S21 series will be powered by the Snapdragon 888. We expect early reviews comparing both variants will surface shortly after the phones are announced, but before then, we want to see how the two chipsets compare on paper.

Both the Exynos 2100 and Snapdragon 888 are 5nm chipsets and the shift to a smaller node size brings upgrades in performance and reduction in power consumption when compared to their predecessors. CPU

The two chips have the same CPU cores and they have the same arrangement. However, the Exynos 2100 is the winner in this category as all of its CPU cores are clocked higher than those of the Snapdragon 888 processor.

GPU

Both chipsets feature new GPUs that bring significant upgrades over their predecessors. We have already seen how the Mali-G78 performs in the Kirin 9000 and Exynos 1080 processors. However, while all three of these chipsets have the same GPU, their performance varies as a result of the number of cores they have.

The Exynos 2100 has 14 GPU cores, four more than the Exynos 1080 but ten fewer than the Kirin 9000. An AnTuTu benchmark result already showed us that the Kirin 9000’s 24-core GPU is just a tiny bit behind the Adreno 660 GPU inside the Snapdragon 888. With the Exynos 2100’s fewer cores, the gap is expected to be wider, though it should be less than the gap between the Exynos 1080 since it has four more cores.

So while Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 wins this round, there is still good news for fans of the Exynos 2100 as its GPU score will surely surpass that of the Snapdragon 865 Plus. The Exynos 1080 already has a higher GPU score (239,408 points) than the Snapdragon 865 Plus (236,287 points), so the Exynos 2100 should widen the margin.

In this category, we will say it is a tie. The Exynos 2100’s triple-core NPU boasts up to 26 trillion operations per second (TOPS), the same figure Qualcomm touts for the Snapdragon 888’s Hexagon 780.

ISP

The ISP in the Exynos 2100 boasts some impressive features. From support for 200MP cameras, to support for 4K video recording at 120FPS and 8K video playback at 60FPS, users should be able to see the benefits when they record their precious memories. The chipset is also the first in the industry to have support for the AV1 Decoder for 8K.

The Snapdragon 888’s Spectra 580 also packs some punch. Not only does it support 200MP cameras too, but it also has 8K video capture at 30 FPS, and 4K HDR recording with computational HDR.

Connectivity

The two manufacturers have decided to go with an integrated 5G modem for the flagship processors. They both support mmWave and sub-6GHz spectrums. Samsung does not say what Wi-Fi technology its new chipset supports but it should have Wi-Fi 6 but we do not know if it has Wi-Fi 6E which the Snapdragon 888 has.

Conclusion

Samsung has done well with its chipset and fans should be pleased. It has a more powerful CPU than the Snapdragon 888 and its ISP brings some significant improvements. However, Qualcomm’s chipset has the GPU advantage and has a great ISP too.

Based on the comparisons, we will say the result is a tie but a real-world comparison of commercial-devices powered by the two chipsets will show us which chipset is better overall.

Samsung has unveiled its new flagship chipset. The Exynos 2100 processor is a 5nm chipset with significant upgrades in CPU, GPU, and AI performance and it also comes with a built-in 5G modem.

The Exynos 2100 5nm processor is built on the 5nm EUV process node. The new chip has an octa-core chipset with a 1+3+4 core arrangement. There is a prime Cortex-X1 core clocked at 2.9GHz, three high-performance Cortex-A78 cores, and four Cortex-A55 power-efficient core. Samsung says that the new CPU brings a 30% increase in multi-core performance and a 19% increase in single-core performance over the previous generation.

Inside the new processor is the Mali-G78 GPU that brings more than a 40% increase in graphics performance. The GPU has 14 cores which are significantly fewer than the Kirin 9000‘s 24 cores.

A new feature that has been added is AMIGO (Advanced Multi-IP governor) technology “which overlooks and optimizes power usages of CPU, GPU, and other processes, allowing longer use time even with intense on-screen activities.”

There is also a new ISP that brings support for camera resolutions up to 200MP. The new ISP has support for up to six cameras and can process four simultaneously. AI brings features such as fast and seamless recognition of objects, scenes, and faces. Content-aware image processing helps adjusts dynamic range, exposure, noise, sharpness, white balance, and color so that your images can turn out great.

The Exynos 2100 also brings support for 4K recording at 120 FPS and 8K playback at 60 FPS. It also the first chipset with an AV1 decoder for 8K video.

There are three NPU cores inside the Exynos 2100 and Samsung says that processing power has increased from 15 TOPS (trillion operations per second) to 26.

The 5G modem brings support for both sub-6GHz and mmWave spectrums and boasts downlink speeds of up to 5.1Gbps for the former and up to 7.3Gbps for mmWave networks.

While Samsung didn’t say which smartphone the chipset will appear in, we know it is the Galaxy S21 series that is launching on Thursday, January 14. However, it did say that the chipset is already in mass production.

Samsung will be launching the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Plus, and Galaxy S21 Ultra phones on Jan. 14 through a global launch event. Ahead of the launch, the pricing of the Galaxy S21 trio for European markets has already appeared in recent reports. A fresh report by ET News has revealed the South Korean pricing of the S21 models.

According to the report, the Galaxy S21 will be priced at 1,000,000 KRW (~$916)and the Galaxy S21 Plus will be priced at 1,119,000 KRW (~$1,025). The Galaxy S21 Ultra will carry a price tag of 1,450,000 KRW (~$1,329). In comparison, the predecessor models such as Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, Galaxy S20 Ultra had debuted with costlier price tags. At the launch, these models were priced at 1,248,000 KRW (~$1,148), 1,353,000 KRW (~$1,240), and 1,595,000 KRW, respectively.

After hosting the Galaxy Unpacked 2021 event, the Galaxy S21 models will be available for reservations in the home market until Jan. 21. Customers who reserved will be allowed to place orders for S21 models between Jan. 22 and Jan. 28. The sales of the Galaxy S21 series will finally begin on Jan. 29 in South Korea.

The report mentions that difference between standard and premium (ultra) variants is getting narrower. These days, consumers are averse to pricey models and are opting for cheaper models. The Samsung Galaxy S21 series will go official in the coming week. Past reports have revealed everything from renders to specifications of the Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra. Recent reports have revealed the pricing of the S21 models for some markets. Reputed tipster Evan Blass has shared a new leak that reiterates the camera specs of the S21 trio.

The Galaxy S21 5G and Galaxy S21 Plus 5G will both feature a 10-megpaixel selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture. The rear-facing camera module of the S21 features a 12-megapixel primary with f/2.2 aperture, a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens with f/2.2 aperture, and a 64-megapixel telephoto lens with f/2.0 aperture. The main and telephoto lenses are expected to arrive with OIS support. The triple cameras are assisted by an LED flash.

The Galaxy S21+ 5G features the same triple camera setup found on the S21. As it is known through past leaks, the S21+ will be coming with a larger display and a bigger battery as compared to the vanilla model.

The rear camera housing of the smartphone features a 108-megapixel main camera (probably, the new HM2 or HM3 lens) with f/1.8 aperture, a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens with f/2.2 aperture, a 10-megapixel telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture, and another 10-megapixel telephoto snapper with f/4.9 aperture. The publication has now published a new report to reveal the specifications and pricing of the Galaxy S21 and S21 Plus.

The Galaxy S21 5G and Galaxy S21+ 5G are IP68 rated dustproof and water-resistant devices. The Galaxy S21 has a 6.2-inch display, whereas the Plus variant has a bigger 6.7-inch display. Both phones feature Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen that offers Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, 60 to 120Hz refresh rate, 1300nits brightness, ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint reader, and Gorilla Glass 7 protection. The S21 offers 52pi pixel density, while the S21+ supports only 394ppi. The Galaxy S21 will come with a plastic rear, while the S21+ will have a glass back.

The upcoming Samsung Exynos 2100 SoC was previously reported to compete with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 chip. Now, new Geekbench benchmarks have revealed that this is actually the case as it outperforms the latter’s unreleased flagship processor in multi-core tests.

According to a GSMArena report, known tipster Ice Universe, which is known for his leaks and reports regarding Samsung, recently shared a screenshot of a Geekbench test. In this benchmark, the Exynos 2100 SoC undergoes the synthetic test and managed to receive impressive scores. The single core score came in at 1089 points, while the muti core score was around an impressive 3963 points.

As per the leakster, the Exynos 2100 from the South Korean tech giant peaked at 1108 points for single core and 3963 points for the multi core tests. This is notable as it surpasses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC, which achieved a 1135 points and 3794 points in single core tests and multi core benchmarks respectively. Interestingly, the synthetic tests also showcase a noticeable jump in scores from previous Geekbench listing that had it receive 1006 and 3059 points respectively.

In other words, the upcoming high end processor from Samsung is still apparently growing, and we can expect additional performance bump, even from the Qualcomm chip with further optimizations. The rumor mill is spilling all kinds of information about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S21 series. A new leak by 91mobiles that cites information shared by popular tipster Ishan Agarwal has revealed the pricing of the Galaxy S21 5G, Galaxy S21+ 5G, and Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G for the European markets.

According to the leak, the 128 GB variant of the Galaxy S21 5G will be priced at 849 euros. The 128 GB Galaxy S21+ 5G will be priced at 1,049 euros. This pricing is lower than the 128 GB edition of the Galaxy S20+ that was priced at 1,099 euros at launch.

Samsung has finally revealed the launch date of a new Exynos SoC. If the company’s words are anything to go by, the next processor(Tentative: Exynos 2100) will open a new world of Exynos chipsets going forward.

As you can see below, Samsung Exynos(@SamsungExynos)’s tweet says, “A whole new Exynos is coming”. Accordingly, Samsung will announce the new Exynos chipset on January 12, 2021. Now, if you recall, this is just two days before the Galaxy S21’s supposed launch date. The tweet also accompanies the hashtag #Exynos_is_back suggesting a revamp in performance.

Although Samsung hasn’t officially revealed the name of the SoC yet, several reports say that it is the next flagship SoC and carries the Exynos 2100 moniker. It is expected to be built on the new 5nm process just like Qualcomm’s counterpart. Previously, the Exynos 990 SoC was built on the 7nm process and faced a lot of thermal throttling issues.

The Samsung Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra are now officially confirmed to debut in January. The Galaxy S21 Ultra is expected to debut as the first S-series smartphone with S Pen support. Ahead of the rumored Jan. 14 launch, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra has appeared on Geekbench (via) with the Exynos 2100 chipset.

Recent reports have revealed that the Samsung Galaxy S21 trio heading to markets like the U.S. and South Korea will be driven by the Snapdragon 888 chipset. India and European markets are expected to get the Exynos 2100 powered S21 editions. At Geekbench 5, the Galaxy S21 Ultra (mentioned with SM-G998B model number) has been spotted with the Exynos 2100 SoC, 12 GB of RAM, and Android 11 OS. The listing states that the yet to be announced chipset has a base frequency of 2.21GHz.

While the performance of the Exynos 2100 powered device appears to be better than the Snapdragon 888 powered S21, readers should know that the S21 models benchmarked at Geekbench are unfinished prototypes. Recent reports have revealed that the Exynos 2100 is equipped with a Cortex-X1 core clocking at 2.91GHz, a 3 x Cortex-A78 cores ticking at 2.81GHz, and 4-Cortex-A55 efficiency cores working at 2.21GHz. The SoC is also said to include a Mali-G78 GPU.

Last week, a tipster had claimed that the Exynos 2100 will consume far less power than the Exynos 990 predecessor chip. The Cortex-A78 and Cortex-A55 cores offer faster performance than their counterparts found in the Snapdragon 888 SoC. This may allow the Exynos 2100 to offer marginally better performance than the SD888. Samsung is expected to unleash the Exynos 2100 before the end of this month. It is only then a good comparison can be done between the two chipsets.

The second paragraph of the letter reproduced above says the team has refocused their efforts to the expectations of fans by “developing a whole new Mobile Processor”. While there is no specific mention of the name of this “whole new mobile processor”, we want to believe it is a teaser for the Exynos 2100.

There have been reports that the Exynos 2100 will be an exceptional chipset and it appears Samsung is taking its time before it officially unveils the new chipset which will power the Galaxy S21 series when it launches roughly a month from today.

Samsung is likely to hold the Galaxy Unpacked 2021 event on Jan. 14 to unleash the Galaxy S21 series. Over a month ahead of the alleged launch event, Various sources have been leaking information on the Galaxy S21 5G, Galaxy S21+ 5G, and Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G smartphones. MySmartPrice has collaborated with popular tipster Ishan Agarwal to share leaked information on the accessories for the Galaxy S21 trio.

The report reveals that the South Korean company will be selling a wide range of accessories for the buyers of S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra. The alleged names of the accessories for the Galaxy S21 series are Clear View Cover, Led Cover, Led View Cover, Silicone Case, Leather Cover, Protective Standing Cover, Clear Protective Cover, Clear Standing Cover, and Clear Cover.

The Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra users will stand a chance to use Smart Kvadrat Case in Mint and Violet variants. Samsung has never offered S Pen support on its smartphones except for the Note series. The tipster corroborated in previous leaks by stating that the Galaxy S21 Ultra will be the first S series smartphone to arrive with S Pen support. However, it will not have a dedicated compartment for storing the stylus. The report states that Samsung will sell S Pen and Silicon case combo that will let users store the stylus along with the S21 Ultra.

A fresh leak by Winfuture.de has revealed the storage and color variants of the Galaxy S21 series for the European market. At the same time, a leaked hands-on video of the S21 has appeared to reveal its appearance.

The publication revealed that the Galaxy S21 5G will come in two sizes such as 128 GB and 256 GB and it will be available in color variants like gray, white, pink, and purple.

The Galaxy S21+ 5G will also arrive in 128 GB and 256 GB storage choices in Europe. It will be available in three hues such as silver, black, and purple.

Samsung’s soon to be released Exynos 2100 flagship processor will be more power-efficient and yield a significantly longer battery life than the Exynos 990, according to reports from tipster Ice Universe, via a tweet from his Twitter feed.

The Galaxy S20 Ultra equipped with Exynos 990 was found to consume 55-percent of the battery during a “test project”, while the Galaxy S21 Ultra, fitted with Exynos 2100 lost only 22-percent for a similar test.

Further details of the test project were not provided by Ice Universe although it seems to be based on the phone’s energy usage for specific tasks under certain conditions. The Exynos 990 is a 7nm processor, while the Exynos 2100 will be a 5nm chip.

In comparison, the Snapdragon 888 is also a 5nm processor. Those two chips will be direct competitors in 2021, and Samsung will use both in its smartphones.

The Exynos 2100 will power Samsung’s high-end smartphones in Europe and the Indian sub-continent, while the Snapdragon 888 will apply for products produced for US and Chinese markets.

Qualcomm has a record of outclassing Exynos processors with their own offerings. It is yet to be seen whether this trend will change in 2021. What is obvious is that Samsung was certainly not oblivious of its rating with Qualcomm’s chips and could have gone the extra mile in research and development to berth the Exynos 2100.

Initial reports and projections have already put the Exynos 2100 a considerable step ahead. Samsung may indeed have realized the shortcomings of its processors, and made significant improvements and modifications with its latest chip. this time around.

It remains to be seen how accurate these claims are. The Exynos 2100 will likely come on stream by mid-December although Samsung has not put out a definitive statement to this effect.

Samsung is expected to announce the launch of its Galaxy S21 series in mid-January 2021, and they are likely to be the first phones to come with the Exynos 2100 processor.

Samsung‘s next-generation flagship Exynos processor which will be known as Exynos 2100 is expected to be officially unveiled on December 15 which is only a couple of days away. Ahed of the event, the company’s Exynos chip division released a tweet which is accompanied by an emotional video showing gratitude towards fans of the brand.

The video is said to be an appreciation to fans for their loyalty but beneath the surface, it seems to suggest the Exynos team acknowledge their shortcomings. The brand is apologizing to loyal fans who were left disappointed by the performance of the 2020 Exynos 990 chipset used on the Galaxy S20 series.

For successive years, Samsung’s Exynos chipset has often lagged behind those from Qualcomm but things seem to have nosedived further in the last few years. The Exynos chip now lag far behind those from Qualcomm. This year was perhaps the worst as the Exynos 990 was noticeably behind the Snapdragon 865 in performance such that a Charge.org petition was initiated and gathered momentum in an attempt to stop Samsung from using Exynos chip on its flagship.

The Exynos 1080 was announced by Samsung last month. The chipset is a flagship-grade Systems-on-Chip (SoC) but it isn’t the best we can get from Samsung. The Exynos 1080 chip will be released onboard the Vivo X60 series.

For its 2021 flagship, Samsung will utilize the Exynos 2100 for the Galaxy S21 series in some markets. On the other hand, the company will also launch a Snapdragon 888-powered version in selected markets.

The Exynos 2100 is built using Samsung’s latest 5nm EUV process and is rumored to feature four Cortex-A55 CPU cores, three Cortex-A78 cores, a brand-new Cortex-X1 core, and a Mali-G78 graphics chip.
