This model will likely make its debut in the brand’s home market of China, but ahead of its announcement, new images have surfaced that showcases the device’s ultra slim profile against its predecessor. Oppo Find N5 faces off against the Find N3

In a tweet shared by known tipster Abhishek Yadav, the Chinese tech giant’s upcoming Find N5 model can be seen with the last gen Find N3 model. To recall, the Find N3 was praised for its thin design as well, measuring around 5.8mm. However, the newer Find N5 will reportedly measure only 4.8mm in terms of thickness. These figures are the width of these foldable phones when they are open.

This showcased the brand’s efforts in making the device a lot less bulkier compared to its predecessor. In total, the Oppo Find N5 has shaved off around 1.6mm to achieve this slimmer design, which can be clearly seen in the image shared on the tweet. When folded, the Find N3 measures around 11.7mm while the Find N5 is believed to measure around 9.2mm in thickness.

Based on previous rumors and reports, Oppo’s Find N5 could be the first foldable phone to feature the 7-core variant of the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. The primary display is expected to be a 2K OLED panel with nearly non-existant crease, while the outer panel is a flat screen. A sizeable 5,700mAh battery may power this device, which could support 80W wired and 50W wireless fast charging. Other notable features include PX6, IPX8, and IPX9 water resistance rating, Hasselblad branded triple camera setup, new white edition, and a side mounted fingerprint sensor.

The well-known testing authority, TUV Rheinland, has now certified that both the Find N3 Flip and Find N3 can endure a remarkable minimum of 1 million folds, ensuring the longevity of the phones’ moving components. Interestingly, when Oppo initially launched the Find N3 Flip, the claim was for it to withstand 600,000 folds. This was described as equivalent to opening and closing the phone 100 times daily, projecting a lifespan of over 16 years. However, recent reports from TUV Rheinland suggest that the devices can withstand double that amount, even though this surpasses the practical lifespan of smartphones due to ongoing technological advancements.

As for the Oppo Find N3 specifications, the device boasts a 7.82-inch foldable OLED inner screen with a 2K resolution and is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. It runs on ColorOS 13.2-based Android 13 and features a substantial 4,805mAh battery supporting 67W fast charging. The camera setup features a 48-megapixel main rear sensor, a 32-megapixel internal camera, and a periscope lens offering 64 megapixels.

Meanwhile, the Oppo Find N3 Flip sports a 6.8-inch LTPO screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, and its triple rear camera setup includes a 50MP OIS-enabled main sensor. The Flip is powered by a Dimensity 9200 processor, with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, and runs on Android 13, promising four years of OS updates.

Following various rumors and teasers, the Oppo Find N3 has finally been unveiled in the Chinese and the global market. This announcement also marks the first time the brand has launched a horizontally folding smartphone outside of its home market, so here are all the details.

Oppo Find N3 Design and Display

The Find N3 from the Chinese tech giant features a notebook-like design with a tall primary display and a narrower cover screen on the outside. On the rear, there is a large circular camera island, while the front houses a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera. The back panel also comes in two variants, which include a matte glass finish and vegan leather.

Its primary panel is a tall 7.82-inch AMOLED display that has a 2440×2268 resolution, dynamic 1-120Hz refresh rate, and 2,800 nits of peak brightness. Meanwhile, the cover display is a shorted 6.31-inch AMOLED panel that has a 2484 x 1116 resolution, 10-120Hz dynamic refresh rate, and a similar peak brightness. Both displays also support Dolby Vision, 2,800 nits of peak brightness, and LTPO 3.0 technology.

Specs and Features

Under the hood, the Oppo Find N3 will be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC that is paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. A 4,805mAh battery pack powers the latest foldable phone, which also supports 67W SuperVOOC fast charging. The company claims that the Find N3 can be fully charged in just 42 minutes. This smartphone runs on Android 13 OS based ColorOS 13.2 custom skin out of the box.

Thanks to its design, the Oppo Find N3 can offer up to three windows on the screen at any given moment. In other words, you can view content vertically and horizontally. Oppo claims that this essentially makes it a 15-inch virtual screen. There are some apps that already support split screen view like Microsoft 365, which lets users edit two documents side by side. You can even view two pictures simultaneously from the Gallery.

Camera

During the global launch live stream, Oppo claimed that the Find N3 features one of the most advanced camera systems on a smartphone. The rear features a Hasselblad branded camera module. The primary sensor is a 48-megapixel Sony LYTIA-T808 pixel stacked sensor that has a 1/1.43-inch size. With the new pixel architecture, the company aims to deliver improved image quality and light sensitivity on this camera. It is also equipped with a 49-megapixel ultra wide angle lens that has a 1/2-inch size, 14mm f/2.2 aperture, and supports autofocus.

Lastly, there is a 64-megapixel 1/2-inch sensor that features 3x optical zoom, a 70mm focal length, and a f/2.6 aperture with stabilization as well. It even supports hybrid zoom of up to 6x or 145mm. For selfies and video calls, both the primary and cover display features a camera. The one on the external screen is a 32-megapixel sensor, while the main display has a 20-megapixel shooter.

Pricing and Availability

The Oppo Find N3 arrives in multiple color options, namely Black, Red, Green, and Gold. The Black and Red options feature vegan leather, while the Green and Gold feature a matte glass finish. The camera module on the Gold variant also matches the rear panel, unlike the other three variants. The device has a starting price tag of 2,399 Singapore Dollars (roughly 1,745 US Dollars) for its global 16GB RAM + 512GB model, while the Chinese variant includes a 1TB top end model. The Chinese tech giant is gearing up to launch the Find N3 on 19th October 2023. On the same date, the OnePlus Open will also be unveiled, which is basically a rebranded Find N3 model. The latest leak arrives from known tipster Evan Blass, who shared the press renders on X (formerly Twitter). Looking at the images, we can see the upcoming foldable smartphone in its gold and black color options.

Although, the device is expected to arrive in black, red, and green variants as well. One of the leaked images shows that the Find N3 measures a thin 5.8mm in thickness and weighs around 245 grams. The rear packs a large circular camera module, while the front houses a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera. The Oppo Find N3 is expected to launch soon. The global version of this foldable phone recently surfaced on GeekBench. And now, the China variant of the Find N3 has also visited the popular benchmarking platform. So let’s have a look.

Oppo Find N3 China Variant GeekBench

The Chinese smartphone maker’s Find N3 China variant was spotted on GeekBench. For those unaware, this model is the company’s latest foldable smartphone model, which is also believed to be a rebranded OnePlus Open. Looking at the benchmark listing, the device carries the model number PHN110. The Chinese version is the Find N3 is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC that is paired with 12GB of RAM.

The Oppo Find N3 global variant also features the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, although it was listed with 16GB of RAM and the CPH2499 model number. It will also run on Android 13 OS with ColorOS custom skin out of the box. However, there are some differences in scores between the Find N3 China and the global version. The Chinese variant scored 2,037 points on single core test and 5,485 points on the multi core test.

Oppo Find N3, the upcoming foldable phone from Oppo, has been rumored for a while. Now, tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed some of its key specifications.

According to the leak, the Find N3 will have a 7.82-inch internal screen with a resolution of 2268 x 2440 pixels. This is a decent increase in size over the Find N2’s 7.1-inch display. The cover screen will also be larger, measuring 6.31 inches instead of 5.54 inches. It will have a resolution of 2484 x 1116 pixels. Both the cover and main screens will use OLED panels with a 120Hz refresh rate.

Digital Chat Station also revealed some information about the device’s camera hardware. The Find N3 is rumored to feature a triple-lens rear camera system with a likely 48MP main sensor, a 48MP ultrawide sensor, and a 64MP telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom. It will also have a 32MP and 20MP sensor for selfies.

Additionally, the previous report suggests that the device will use a dual-layer stacked Sony camera sensor. As implied by the name, this technology uses a two-layer design to separate the transistors and photodiode layers. This allows for larger photodiodes, which can capture more light and reduce noise, even in challenging lighting conditions.

In terms of performance, the Find N3 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and offer up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. It will be fueled by a 4805mAh battery with support for 100W fast charging.

Oppo is gearing up to launch its latest generation of foldable smartphones from the Find N3 lineup. But prior to the official announcement, a new leak has offered us a look at the retail box of the flagship Find N3 model. So let’s have a look.

The image was shared by known tipster Evan Blass (@evleaks), who shared an unpublished image on X (formerly Twitter). Looking at the image, the Find N3’s retail box can be seen alongside a number of packaging boxes of other Oppo branded smartphones. To recall, Billy Zhang (President of Oppo Sales and Marketing) recently teased the packaging boxes of some of its smartphones, showcasing their environmentally friendly design.

This philosophy is reflected in the Find N3 retail box as well. These boxes are designed to be lightweight, with paper usage being reduced by 30 percent. The packaging also includes 100 percent biodegradable materials and is made with 45 percent recycled fibers as well. Interestingly, a common design language can be seen among the newer smartphone retail boxes. The Find N3 has a plain gray box with the letter “3” etched on the front inside the rectangular outline of the Find N3.

The latest leak arrives from known tipster Digital Chat Station that shared the information on Weibo (a Chinese microblogging website). In this online post, the tipster shared key details regarding the display and the camera of the upcoming Find N3. The new foldable device will apparently feature a triple camera setup on the rear that consists of two 48-megapixel cameras and a 64-megapixel shooter.

Although, it appears that the early engineering unit is equipped with one 50-megapixel primary shooter, along with a 48-megapixel ultra wide angle lens, and a 64-megapixel periscope zoom sensor. A schematic allegedly revealing the design of the highly anticipated OPPO Find N3 has been leaked on Weibo by Digital Chat Station. The leaked schematic hints that the Find N3 will feature a larger outer and inner display compared to its predecessor, the China-exclusive Find N2, and will come with a different design.

New details surface for the OPPO Find N3 foldable smartphone

The OPPO Find N3 foldable smartphone is expected to be released later this year. The next-generation foldable has been the subject of a few leaks and yet another leak has surfaced. Digital Chat Station has provided more details of the Find N3 relating to the camera setup. It is rumored that the Find N3 will be equipped with three Sony IMX890 sensors as part of its camera setup.

The Oppo Find X6 Pro uses the Sony IMX890 sensors for its ultra-wide-angle and telephoto cameras. The smartphone deploys the Sony IMX989 sensor for its main camera. The Oppo Find N3, as per the Digital Chat Station latest leak, will come with Oppo’s MariSilicon X NPU and Hasselblad camera tunings. The front-facing camera will be the 32MP Omnivision OV32C sensor also present in the Find N2. The Find N3 will come with a 4,800mAh battery, slightly bigger than the 4,520mAh in the Find N2.

A previous leak has hinted that the Find N3 was codenamed PHN110 and will feature three 50MP rear cameras. The Find N3 is also expected to debut with the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 2 chipset. Qualcomm will release the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 2 this summer. The latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 2 comes with improvements over the Snapdragon 4 series mid-cycle iterations.

There are still lots of details lacking for the next-gen foldable smartphone, Find N3. It would be interesting to see the folding mechanism and how it compares with current foldable flagships from Samsung, Xiaomi, and others. There are no official details yet on the release date and specs of the Oppo Find N3 flagship.
