While there is a lot to look forward to with the new OS, Samsung also revealed key info about older smartwatches, one that is a mix of good and bad news.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-396804" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Tizen-OS-Galaxy-Watches-updates.jpg?x10805" alt="Tizen OS Galaxy Watches updates" width="892" height="473" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Tizen-OS-Galaxy-Watches-updates.jpg 892w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Tizen-OS-Galaxy-Watches-updates-300x159.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Tizen-OS-Galaxy-Watches-updates-768x407.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Tizen-OS-Galaxy-Watches-updates-696x369.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Tizen-OS-Galaxy-Watches-updates-792x420.jpg 792w" sizes="(max-width: 892px) 100vw, 892px" /></p>
<p>It was revealed that users with Tizen-based smartwatches will receive software updates and Galaxy Store support for up to 3 years from launch. While this is good news, it also indirectly confirms that these watches will not get updated to the new operating system.</p>
<p>A small text at the bottom of the screen adds that software updates will be available to the following devices:</p>
<ul>
<li><a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/galaxy-watch">Galaxy Watch</a></li>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/02/21/samsung-galaxy-watch-active-official-ditches-the-rotating-bezels-for-a-sleek-design/">Galaxy Watch Active</a></li>
<li><a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/galaxy-watch-3">Galaxy Watch3</a></li>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/08/06/samsung-galaxy-watch-active-2-launched-with-ecg-and-digital-bezel-for-279/">Galaxy Watch Active2</a></li>
</ul>
<p>This means the Galaxy Watch which was announced in 2018 will have its software support come to an end this year. The Galaxy Watch Active and Galaxy Watch Active2 both announced in 2019 still have one more year of updates while the Galaxy Watch3 has two years of software support left.</p>

<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/samsung">Samsung</a>, through a press release, <a href="https://www.samsungmobilepress.com/pressreleases/samsung-expands-vital-blood-pressure-and-electrocardiogram-tracking-to-galaxy-watch3-and-galaxy-watch-active2-in-31-more-countries">announced</a> that the Samsung Health Monitor app will now be available across 31 more countries. For the unware, users of Samsung should install this App on both their Smartphones and Wearables. Using this, they can avail the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/blood-pressure-monitoring">Blood pressure</a> and Electrocardiogram(<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/ECG">ECG</a>) tracking feature.</p>
<p>First off, the above-mentioned features will be available for 28 new European countries, in addition to Chile, Indonesia, and the UAE. The rollout will be a staged process starting from February 4.</p>
<p>Samsung says that it is able to expand to EU nations after receiving the CE-marking in December 2020. This marking is for complying with health, safety, and environmental protection standards within European Economic Area(EEA).</p>
<p>Hence, the Samsung Health Monitor App will now enable the features in the 28 European countries <strong>as follows</strong>: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the UK.</p>
<p>Talking about the features, the Heartrate monitoring sensors use the pulse wave analysis to track the Blood Pressure of the users. The difference between the calibration value and the change in blood pressure will show the result.</p>
<p>As for ECG, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/08/17/samsung-galaxy-watch3-and-galaxy-buds-live-launch-in-india-for-%e2%82%b929990-and-%e2%82%b914990-respectively/">Galaxy Watch 3</a> / <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/08/06/samsung-galaxy-watch-active-2-launched-with-ecg-and-digital-bezel-for-279/">Watch Active2</a> have a dedicated sensor to study the heart’s electrical activity. Any inconsistent results are interpolated to show if the person is having the risk of Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) and duly notified.</p>
<p>To measure, rest your forearm on a flat surface and place a fingertip from the opposite hand on the top button on the smartwatch for 30 seconds. You can also watch the tutorial videos of <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6ho0aa1r3g">Blood Pressure</a> and <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G5WzPrhqcOA">ECG</a> to get an idea.</p>

However, not everyone is familiar with the fashion house. If you reside in China, you should be able to pick up a new limited edition Galaxy Z Fold 2 made in collaboration with the popular automobile company, Aston Martin.</p>
<p>Photos of the Galaxy Z Fold 2 Aston Martin Limited Edition were posted on Twitter by Ice Universe and they give us an early look before <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/samsung">Samsung&#8217;s</a> official unveiling.</p>
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-width="550" data-dnt="true">

<p><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p>As shown in the images, the phone will come in a large gray box. On the top is written Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-watch3/">Galaxy Watch3</a> which means that this limited edition unit doesn&#8217;t include a pair of the <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/galaxy-buds-live">Galaxy Buds Live</a>, unlike the Thom Browne Edition. The box also has Tmall written at the bottom which means it should be sold by the retail giant. We checked the Tmall store but it is yet to be listed there.</p>
<p>Inside the box is the Galaxy Z Fold 2 in Mystic Black with no customization whatsoever including an Aston Martin logo. However, you do get an orange leather Aston Martin case. There is also an Aston Martin polo shirt in navy blue, a black and white baseball hat, and a Mystic Black Galaxy Watch3 included in the box.</p>
<p>We do not know when Samsung plans to unveil the phone but it should not be far off. We also expect it to cost less than the Thom Browne Edition.</p>

<p>Among its other notable health features, the new Galaxy Watch 3 also supports blood pressure monitoring, something the Apple Watch has yet to offer. Although, it does require one to calibrate it with a blood pressure cuff to get the baseline readings. But after this, it can calculate the systolic and diastolic pressures through the use of algorithms. Keep in mind, it won&#8217;t be as accurate as a standard blood pressure monitor.</p>

<p>One of the big let downs is that these features are only available in South Korea. Samsung was waiting for FDA approval before bringing blood pressure monitoring and ECG to the US. According to the South Korean tech giant&#8217;s recent livestream, approval for both have been received, which means that the update for these features should arrive soon.</p>

<p>Other health related features like the maximum oxygen uptake (VO2 Max) and SpO2 (relative blood oxygen) readings will also be present in the device. But unfortunately, it will not be available from day one of launch. Samsung plans on adding these through future software updates sometime during Q3 2020.</p>

Two of them are accessories namely Galaxy Watch 3 and Galaxy Buds Live. Now, just a few days ahead of their launch, some of their unique features have been revealed, thanks to their plugin apps (companion apps) on Google Play Store.</span></p>

This has resulted in a revelation of features that remained wrapped up until now despite numerous render leaks </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Having said that, here are some interesting previously unknown features of South Koren tech giant’s upcoming accessories.</span></p>
<h2><strong>Galaxy Watch 3 Features</strong></h2>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">The teardown of the Galaxy Watch 3 Plugin app was carried out by </span><i><span style="font-weight: 400">Max Weinbach</span></i><span style="font-weight: 400"> of </span><a href="https://www.xda-developers.com/samsung-app-confirms-galaxy-watch-3-hand-gestures-fall-detection/"><i><span style="font-weight: 400">XDA Developers</span></i></a><span style="font-weight: 400">. He found out new gestures, fall detection, and a plethora of default watch faces.</span></p>

<a href='https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/07/25/galaxy-watch-3-and-galaxy-buds-live-features-revealed-courtesy-of-samsung-apps/galalxy-watch-3-clench-unclench-attend-calls-gesture/'><img width="1280" height="920" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Galalxy-Watch-3-Clench-Unclench-Attend-Calls-Gesture.gif?x10805" class="attachment-full size-full" alt="Galalxy Watch 3 Clench Unclench Attend Calls Gesture" loading="lazy" /></a>
<a href='https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/07/25/galaxy-watch-3-and-galaxy-buds-live-features-revealed-courtesy-of-samsung-apps/galaxy-watch-3-shake-decline-calls-gesture/'><img width="1280" height="920" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Galaxy-Watch-3-Shake-Decline-Calls-Gesture.gif?x10805" class="attachment-full size-full" alt="Galaxy Watch 3 Shake Decline Calls Gesture" loading="lazy" /></a>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Talking about gestures first, since the Galaxy Watch 3 will come with a speaker, users will be able to clench and unclench their wrist to accept calls and start conversing. Similarly, they will have an option to decline calls by shaking their hand. Also, the screenshot gesture will be different and it will only require users to press both side buttons instead of holding the button and swiping left at the same time.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">The most important and useful feature will be the new “Fall Detection” functionality similar to Apple Watches. When the wearable detects a fall, it will ring for 60 seconds and if the user doesn’t respond, it will text their location and 5 seconds sound recording to their emergency contacts.</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-333881 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Galaxy-Watch-3-Default-Watch-Faces.png?x10805" alt="Galaxy Watch 3 Default Watch Faces" width="821" height="648" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Galaxy-Watch-3-Default-Watch-Faces.png 821w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Galaxy-Watch-3-Default-Watch-Faces-300x237.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Galaxy-Watch-3-Default-Watch-Faces-768x606.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Galaxy-Watch-3-Default-Watch-Faces-696x549.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Galaxy-Watch-3-Default-Watch-Faces-532x420.png 532w" sizes="(max-width: 821px) 100vw, 821px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Lastly, there will be a total of 47 default watch faces. Apart from these, users will be also able to install other watch faces from the store.</span></p>
<h2><strong>Galaxy Buds Live Features</strong></h2>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Just like with the Galaxy Watch 3, the Galaxy Buds Live Plugin app confirms all the previously leaked features (via </span><a href="https://www.theverge.com/2020/7/24/21337036/samsung-galaxy-buds-live-bean-earbuds-leak-name-noise-cancellation-app"><i><span style="font-weight: 400">The Verge</span></i></a><span style="font-weight: 400">). The main highlight of this upcoming TWS will be ANC (Active Noise Cancellation).</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-large wp-image-333878 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Galaxy-Buds-Live-Plugin-App-1024x524.png?x10805" alt="Galaxy Buds Live Plugin App" width="696" height="356" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Galaxy-Buds-Live-Plugin-App-1024x524.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Galaxy-Buds-Live-Plugin-App-300x153.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Galaxy-Buds-Live-Plugin-App-768x393.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Galaxy-Buds-Live-Plugin-App-696x356.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Galaxy-Buds-Live-Plugin-App-1068x546.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Galaxy-Buds-Live-Plugin-App-822x420.png 822w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Galaxy-Buds-Live-Plugin-App-1920x982.png 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Galaxy-Buds-Live-Plugin-App.png 2046w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">The app also has tutorials to pair the herdable to devices along with a short instruction clip on how to wear it. Well-known leaker Ishan Agarwal shared this <a href="https://twitter.com/ishanagarwal24/status/1286671174173302785">video</a> on Twitter.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Further, the app confirms support for customizing touch controls and other features like find buds as well as equalizer option to name a few. Last but not least, the Galaxy Buds Live will also able to read notifications aloud to users.</span></p>

The Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+ flagship tablets and the Galaxy Watch 3 are also anticipated to debut soon. According to a tipster, the next S-series tablets and the smartwatch may go official on Aug. 5.</p>
<p>The July 22 date was found mentioned in the leaked renders of the Galaxy Watch 3 that surfaced recently. Since then, it has been speculated that the South Korean tech giant may announce the Galaxy Watch 3 on the said date which falls exactly two weeks before the Galaxy Unpacked event.</p>

<p>According to a tipster, the Galaxy Tab S7 and Galaxy Watch 3 will not debut at the Galaxy Unpacked. His tweet hints that event the Tab S7 will break cover along with the Galaxy Watch 3 on July 22. That is because of the intensity at which details of the smartwatch are hitting the limelight. The smartwatch has now been certified by the NCC with a photo splash to show for it.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/galaxy-watch-3.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-330934" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/galaxy-watch-3.jpg?x10805" alt="Samsung Galaxy Watch3" width="658" height="481" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/galaxy-watch-3.jpg 658w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/galaxy-watch-3-300x219.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/galaxy-watch-3-575x420.jpg 575w" sizes="(max-width: 658px) 100vw, 658px" /></a></p>
<p>The images show the premium watch with a silver exterior and a black leather band. The watch is expected to be available in three colours &#8211; Black Silver and Bronze. The model pictured in this listing is obviously the Silver variant. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/galaxy-watch-3-3.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-330936" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/galaxy-watch-3-3.jpg?x10805" alt="Galaxy Watch 3" width="672" height="499" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/galaxy-watch-3-3.jpg 672w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/galaxy-watch-3-3-300x223.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/galaxy-watch-3-3-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/galaxy-watch-3-3-265x198.jpg 265w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/galaxy-watch-3-3-485x360.jpg 485w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/galaxy-watch-3-3-566x420.jpg 566w" sizes="(max-width: 672px) 100vw, 672px" /></a></p>
<p>In addition, the Galaxy Watch 3 is expected to come in two sizes &#8211; 45mm and 41mm. The 45mm model measures 45 x 46.2 x 11.1 and it houses a 1.4-inch display and a 340mAh battery. On the other hand, the 41mm edition of the smartwatch will have 41 x 42.5 x 11.3mm dimensions and it will sport a 1.2-inch screen. This model will draw power from a 247mAh battery.</p>
<p>On the connectivity front, the Galaxy Watch 3 will support LTE and GPS. When it comes to health sensors, it will offer users a heart rate sensor, blood pressure monitoring, and electrocardiogram (ECG). It is unclear whether ECG will be available globally at launch. It will offer users with 8 GB of native storage. Its processor will be coupled with 1 GB of RAM.</p>

<p>The support pages for the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-watch3/">Samsung Galaxy Watch 3</a> carry SM-R845F and SM-R850F model numbers. These models are supports to belong to the rumored <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/06/08/galaxy-watch-3-branding-confirmed-will-come-in-41mm-and-45mm-sizes/">41mm and 45mm editions of the Galaxy Watch 3.</a></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400">At first look, we can understand what <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Samsung">Samsung</a> is trying to do with its new wearable’s design. Instead of following a modern approach like </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Apple"><span style="font-weight: 400">Apple</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">, the South Korean tech giant is targeting the traditional watch wearers with its forthcoming smartwatch.</span></p>

It will be available in two sizes &#8211; 45mm with a 1.4-inch display and 41mm with a slightly smaller 1.2-inch screen.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Further, the smartwatch will feature Corning Gorilla Glass DX, LTE, GPS, heart rate sensor, and ECG. As for software, it will run Tizen OS 5.5 with 1GB RAM and 8GB ROM. Lastly, the battery on the two variants will be of 340 mAh and 247 mAh respectively.</span></p>

The model number of the smartphone is SM-M015F/G. A new variant of the same phone with model number SM-M017F/DS has received approval from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). It could be the enhanced version of the phone called Galaxy M01s. The same authority has also certified the Galaxy Watch 3. These certifications hint that the Galaxy M01s and Galaxy Watch 3 will be arriving in India in the near future.</p>
<p>The BIS authority has approved SM-R845F, SM-R855F, and SM-R850 variants of the Galaxy Watch 3. These model numbers were also spotted in Bluetooth SIG certification recently.  They are said to be the model numbers of the 41mm and 45mm editions of the Galway Watch 4. The Galaxy Watch 2 successor is expected to debut as early as next month globally. However, there is no confirmation on when it will be arriving in India.</p>

Another South Korean publication has revealed the names of other devices that are expected to go official alongside the above-mentioned devices. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak, Samsung will be holding an online event to announce its new devices.</p>
<p>According to <em><a href="http://www.koreaherald.com/view.php?ud=20200609000629">The Korea Herald</a>, </em>Samsung will be launching <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-z-flip-5g/">Galaxy Z Flip 5G</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/06/08/galaxy-watch-3-branding-confirmed-will-come-in-41mm-and-45mm-sizes/">Galaxy Watch 3</a> along with Galaxy Note 20 series and Galaxy Fold 2. Even reliable <a href="https://twitter.com/jon_prosser/status/1270331034375200775">tipster <em>Jon Prosser</em></a> tweeted that the company would launch Galaxy Z Flip 5G on Aug. 5. The tipster believes that the Galaxy Note 20 series, Galaxy Fold 2, and Galaxy Z Flip 5G will be available for purchase from Aug. 20.</p>
<p>The South Korean publication has not revealed any information on the specs of the Galaxy Z Flip 5G. Samsung had launched Snapdragon 855 powered <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-z-flip">Galaxy Z Flip</a> clamshell phone with foldable display earlier this year. The elegant device did not carry support for 5G connectivity. It is unclear which processor will be driving the Galaxy Z Flip 5G. Some rumors have claimed that the upcoming 5G edition will have a base storage of 256 GB and it may come in a new brown color.</p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400">The last time Samsung skipped a generation turned out to be disastrous (</span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Galaxy-Note-7"><span style="font-weight: 400">Galaxy Note 7</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">). Hopefully, that does not happen this time since the scenario is different.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">The South Korean tech giant is probably naming its upcoming smartwatch Galaxy Watch 3 since it did not launch any model in the series last year. Thus, we can expect it to offer a much better experience than its predecessor from 2018.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Further, the NBTC certification portal also exposed the size of this wearable to be 41mm. That means it will come in two sizes just like the previous model. For the unaware, the larger 45mm was spotted on FCC listing a few days back.</span></p>
