News of the device first surfaced on Tuesday when an official poster was leaked. Now the device is live on HTC’s Russian website.

HTC One X10 Specs

The leaked poster teased one major feature, a large battery and HTC delivers on that. The HTC One X10 packs a 4000mAh battery under its all-metal back. The battery is said to last almost 2 days on a single charge.

The rest of the specs on the HTC One X10 are not outstanding. We have seen them in phones launched as far back as early 2016. There is a 5.5-inch FHD display with Corning Gorilla Glass. You get 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage which can be expanded via a MicroSD slot that accepts up to 2TB cards.

The HTC One X10 is powered by the same Helio P10 processor in the HTC U Play. The P10 is old and its successor, the Helio P20 was announced at last year’s CES but HTC is still putting the Helio P10 in phones released in 2017.

There is a f/2.0 16MP rear camera on the X10 with a pixel size of 1 μm. The rear camera has a LED flash flanking it on the right and there is a fingerprint scanner below it. HTC says the rear camera will perform well under low-light. For the front camera, there is an 8MP 86° wide-angle sensor, that allows you fit all your friends in one frame.

HTC One X10 Design

One thing HTC does get right with the One X10 is the design. Its a beautiful phone with a metal back and a 2.5D glass front. The silver painted antenna lines on both color variants are also pleasing to the eyes.

HTC One X10 Price

The HTC One X10 doesn’t have a price neither is there any info on availability yet. Nevertheless, if you require a phone with a bigger battery and a bigger display from HTC, you might want to pick this over the HTC U Play. You get a bigger screen and a bigger battery too but lose 1GB of RAM though. The One X10 is available in black and silver.

Also, well-known tipster, Evan Blass, claimed that the smartphone would be released by the first quarter of this year. These leaks also carried unofficial renders of the alleged HTC One X10 smartphone. Speculations have it that the One X10 may get announced the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 event on Feb. 27.

Now that a leaked image of the HTC One X10 has been spotted on the Chinese social site – Weibo, it seems that its official announcement of the HTC One X10 drawing near. The new photo shows the smartphone with a protective sticker on its screen.

The leaked photo of the smartphone suggests that it appears a bit similar to the Nexus 6P and it is packed in a full metallic chassis. The rear side of the smartphone has a fingerprint scanner. Its predecessor does not feature a fingerprint reader. The handset seems to feature capacitive Home buttons below the screen.

In December 2016, the Taiwanese company met with a 16.4 percent month-on-month and 1.7 percent year-on-year decline.

The total revenue generated by HTC for the entire year of 2016 is NT$78.16 billion. This number is not impressive as it is 35 percent dip compared to the revenue generated by the company in 2015. Moreover, it is the worst annual figure in the past 11 years. The highest annual figure it generated was in 2011 when it earned NT$465.7 billion.

HTC has reached NT$22.2 billion revenue in the last quarter of 2016. In the third quarter, the company announced a net decline of NT$2.18 per share when the generated revenue was almost same it recorded in the fourth quarter.

In the last quarter of 2016, HTC is expected to continue to record losses. If it happens, it will the seventh consecutive quarterly loss for the company.

The poor sales record of HTC shows that the HTC 10 that was well-received by critics and audience did not help in improving its revenue. The company even manufactured the Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones. Even though the Pixel smartphones are sold as Google products and not as HTC devices, the Taiwanese firm did generate some revenue for it but even that has not helped in bettering its revenue.

Related: HTC Vive Smartphone with Stunning Unique Designs In Works?

HTC has couple of smartphones up it sleeves that can help the company to record better sales. On Jan. 12, it is expected to unveiling a stylus totting HTC U Ultra phablet and its smaller sibling, HTC U Play. Both the smartphones will not be featuring the standard 3.5mm audio jack. The HTC U Ultra is expected to feature a 6-inch display whereas the U Play may arrive with a 5.2-inch screen.

HTC One X10, an upgraded version for last year’s HTC One X9. It is expected to be a midrange device with features like 5.5-inch full HD screen and an octa-core MediaTek SoC. It is also rumored to be working on HTC Vive smartphone.

HTC’s next flagship, the HTC 11 that is slated to replace HTC 10 from 2016 is also under the wraps. It is rumored to get unleashed in the first quarter of 2017 with features like 5.5-inch quad HD display and Snapdragon 835.

The forthcoming smartphones do appear promising. Only time will tell whether these devices help in recording better revenue this year.

Over the next three months, Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC is expected to unveil three smartphones. Already, a teased poster had reveal a launch event for an HTC U-series device has been scheduled for January 12.

While we are yet to know the right names the devices would launch with, popular tipster and ROM developer @LlabTooFer has leaked the code-names by which the three upcoming HTC smartphones are known. According to a tweet he posted on Twitter, the three devices are code-named HTC Alpine, HTC Ocean Note and HTC E66 which he gave as the HTC One X10.

Earlier leaks have give the HTC Ocean Note as the HTC U Ultra that would be launched on January 12. The top of the pack is likely the HTC Alpine which is identified as the next gen flagship – HTC 11. The HTC One X10 was recently featured in a leaked render and is now identified with the code-name HTC E66.

The HTC U Ultra is rumored to have a 6-inch display and will be available in Black, White and Blue. The phablet will not carry a 3.5mm earphone jack but will use the Type-C USB port. On the other hand, the HTC One X10 is said to feature a 5.5-inch screen. Under the hood is the MediaTek MT6755 SoC with an octa-core 1.9GHz CPU, and the Mali T860 GPU. The rear camera weighs in at 16.3MP with a front facing 7.9MP snapper. Finally, 2017 flagship-type specs are expected for the HTC 11. That means a 5.5-inch screen with a 1440 x 2560 resolution and perhaps the recently unveiled Snapdragon 835 chipset will power the phone.

The teaser just contained the words “for U”, with the letter “U” made extra bold. At first we had thought the device was the HTC One X10 but then on closer scrutiny it certainly isn’t. But the HTC One X10 will launch sometime in Q1 2017, according to popular tipster Eva Bass (@evleaks).

Apart from revealing the HTC One X10 will launch in Q1 2017, the tipster also posted a leaked real live render of the smartphone. From the renders, it can be gathered that the HTC One X10 will not come with a physical home button but has virtual buttons which would function as home key, back button and quick app launcher. At the rear, there is a unique straight line antenna band which runs at the top and bottom edges. The rear camera sits centrally while the LED flash is located by the side of the camera. The X10 also has a rear mounted fingerprint sensor located under the rear camera. The power button and volume rocker are located at the right side of the phone.

The HTC One X10 will take over the rein from last year’s 5.5-inch One X9 phablet and it is just slightly different from its predecessor. The device is also expected to feature a 5.5-inch display with FHD resolution (1080 x 1920 pixels). Powering the device will be a MediaTek Helio P10 chipset with octa-core processor and a clock frequency of 2GHz. The graphics will be fired up by a Mali-T860 GPU clocking at 700 MHz. The X10 is also expected to pack 3GB RAM, 32GB ROM onboard as well as a 16.3MP rear camera with OIS and a 7.9MP front camera.

Related: HTC One X10 Specifications, Pricing, Leaked Photos Surface; Launch Date in January 2017?

The HTC One X10 is expected to carry a price hovering around 2,000 yuan ($288), cheaper than the X9’s price which started at 2399 Yuan ($345).

HTC X10 Specifications, Features

The HTC X10 is rumored to release as a successor model for HTC One X9, a midranger smartphone that was launched in December 2015. It is expected to feature a 5.5-inch display that will produce a full HD resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels.

The MediaTek Helio P10 chipset featuring a true octa-core processor gunning at 2 GHz along with Mali-T860 GPU clocking at 700 MHz is expected to power the HTC One X10. The MediaTek SoC is rumored to be coupled with 3 GB of RAM.

A 13-megapixel camera enabled with OIS (optical image stabilization) is speculated to be present on the rear side of the smartphone. The details on the front camera and battery size are not known.

HTC One X10 Pricing

The HTC One X9 was launched with a pricing of 2399 Yuan ($345). However, its successor is pegged to come with a launch price of 2000 Yuan ($288).

Related: HTC Ocean Note Back Cover Leaked: Features a Stylus Slot, No 3.5mm Jack

HTC One X10 Launch Date

Some speculations suggest that HTC may unveil the smartphone at the upcoming CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2017 that will be held in Las Vegas from Jan. 3 to 8. Interestingly, the Taiwanese company has sent out invitations for a Jan. 12 launch event.

The invitation does not reveal much as it only contains “for U” text. Also, the HTC logo at bottom right has its C turned 90 degrees to make it appear as U. Since there are rumors of HTC One X10, it is expected to get unleashed on Jan. 12.

The Jan. 12 event seems to be big event and the company may not use such an event to unleash just a midranger. Also, in 2015, the launch event invitations for HTC One X9 carried a large sized ‘X.’ Hence, it is likely that may unleash its first smartwatch or HTC Vive 2 VR on Jan. 12.
