Finally, even Huawei P10 Lite and Mate 10 Lite have started updating to Android 8.0 Oreo. The news comes from Germany where some users are getting the OTA notification asking to update their devices. According to reports, the new firmware carries the build number WAS-LX1A 8.0.0.362 (C432) for the P10 Lite and RNE-L01 8.0.0.330 (C432) for the Mate 10 Lite. The update weighs about 2.5 GB if you are going to update from a stable firmware, but if you adhered to the beta testing phase you will just have to download 500 MB. The official changelog is consistent, just as every major update. Important improvements have been implemented in the user interface, as well as improvements related to artificial intelligence.

Now, the operating system has a faster boot phase and also better performance, even though these devices still did not receive the update containing the new GPU Turbo technology. The PrivateSpace app and the overall security of the operating system have been improved as well, and smart tips have been implemented to inform the users about useful features of the EMUI. It is now possible to sync more information from LinkedIn to email and calendar and there is also a reinvented settings menu.

Among the other important adds, there is a recycle bin in the gallery app that contains the deleted photos and it keeps it there for up to 30 days. Now, Huawei P10 Lite and Mate 10 Lite can connect to 2 Bluetooth devices at the same time, while it was not possible in the previous version. Given that the update has rolled out to German units of Huawei P10 Lite and Mate 10 Lite, we expect it to expand to all the units of the handsets very soon. Note that these devices have also been confirmed to get the GPU Turbo technology in the coming months: it will improve graphics performances and reduce power consumption.

Recently, the mid-end phablet started receiving a new OTA notification. According to reports coming from Italy, the handset has received a software update weighing about 451 MB. From the size and the changelog, we can understand that this update for Huawei Mate 10 Lite brings important improvements to the handset.

First of all, the update includes the Android security patch for the month of April. Google releases Android security patches every month, and the April security patch is the latest one released by the Mountain View giant. Besides improving the security, the update is also bringing important system optimizations which are expected to improve performance and stability. The software update is identified by the build number RNE-L21C432B134 and it should reach every unit of Huawei Mate 10 Lite in the coming days.

So, if you still did not get the OTA notification on your handset, do not worry as it is a gradual roll out. In the meantime, you can try to force the arrival of the update by heading to the Settings. Once you are in the settings menu, you just need to tap on Software updates, then on Check for updates in order to see if the update is already available. To download this update, we suggest you connect to a Wi-Fi network in order to save your data traffic. You should also make sure to have at least 50 percent of battery charge before installing the update.

After a series of leaks related to Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro, we now have more leaks related to the Huawei Mate 10 Lite. Evan Blass has posted a render of Mate 10 Lite in Blue color, showing the front as well as the back panel of the device.

From the leaked render, it appears that the device will follow the on-going trend of a bezel-less display. On the back, there are two vertically-stacked cameras just above the fingerprint sensor.

Previously, the device was accidentally listed on Dutch retailer Belsimpel. The listing revealed that the phone will be offered in November, at a price at €349 in Europe (approx. $412.66).

Apart from the dual camera configuration at the back, the Huawei Mate 10 Lite also features a dual camera setup for the front-facing camera. The rear camera is said to feature a 16-megapixel sensor and a 2-megapixel sensor, while on the front, it is expected to pack a 13-megapixel and 2-megapixel sensors.

The smartphone will feature a 5.9-inch display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. It is expected to come with HiSilicon Kirin 659 SoC, clocked at 2.36GHz along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. There will a microSD card slot, allowing users to expand storage up to 256GB.

While the recent listing on the online retailer Belsimpel showed that the phone comes with Android 7.0 Nougat operating system, the company had said that the Mate 10 series will run on Android Oreo with EMUI 5.1 on top. The Mate 10 Lite will be powered by a 3,340mAh battery.

The Huawei Mate 10 Lite is all set to be unveiled on October 16, along with the rest of the models in the Mate 10 lineup, which includes Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro and the Mate 10 Porsche Edition.

If those specs sound familiar that is because they are the same as that of the Maimang 6/G10 as it appeared on TENAA. The only difference is that the Maimang 6 will be launched on Friday in China but the Mate 10 Lite won’t arrive till October 16 and will also be a global release.

The Mate 10 is reported as launching with EMUI 5.1 based on Android Oreo. It will come in blue, black, and gold and be priced at €379 (~$455).

The Mate 10 Lite may have four cameras and a higher resolution 18:9 display, don’t forget that it won’t have Leica cameras like the Mate 10 which has a 16:9 display. Plus its Kirin 659 is no match for the Kirin 970.

So what device is Marcel? Guess it’s the Porsche Edition of the Mate 10 series.

A new rumour has sprung up from Poland alleging that the Huawei Mate 10 would make its grand debut in October. The rumour was even specific about the launch date being October 16 and the venue to be in Munich. The Huawei P10 was first launched in Europe as well before it was unveiled in China.

The Mate 10 is expected as the final flagship that would be released by the Chinese tech giant this year. It is coming on the heels of the launch of the Huawei P10 earlier in the year, and then the Honor 9 which was launched not too long. The Mate 10 will be the giant of them all, with it size traditionally being phablet size. The device is expected with a 6-inch JDI display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and 2160 x 1080 pixel resolution. The device will feature a Kirin 970 chip, which would Huawei’s first 10nm chip.

Read More: Huawei CEO Confirms Full-Screen Display, Better Camera, Longer Battery for Mate 10 to Rival Against Apple

The rumour also listed the price tag of the Mate 10 to fall on the region of PLN4,000 in Poland, which is around $1100. In addition to the Mate 10, Huawei is also said to be working on a Mate 10 Lite which would cost half the price of the Mate 10 at PLN1,999 (~$556) and as you’d guess, would have a slightly reduced size from the Mate 10 and it is rumoured to be 5.8 inches. The price tag looks way outrageous and cut off from reality but then, the Mate 10 is meant to rival the iPhone 8 which is expected to have a hefty price tag. But then, Huawei isn’t Apple and doesn’t even have any model which sells as high as $800 and even the Mate 9 is priced less than $800. This is just a rumour and so, should be taken with a pinch of salt.
