Yesterday, iQOO held a launch event in China to unveil the iQOO Neo 9s Pro smartphone, which has the Dimensity 9300+ chip onboard. Apart from unveiling the Neo 9s Pro, the brand also released a poster to confirm the key specifications of the iQOO Pad 2 and Pad 2 Pro tablets. Here is a look at what to expect from both models.

According to the brand, the iQOO Pad 2 will feature a 12.1-inch LCD panel that offers a 2.8K resolution and up to 600 nits of brightness. On the other hand, the Pad 2 Pro will have a 13.1-inch LCD screen offering a 3.1K resolution and up to 900 nits of brightness. Both tablets will offer a 144Hz refresh rate.

The iQOO Pad 2 will pack a 10,000mAh battery that promises around 11.5 hours of battery life. It will arrive as the world’s first tablet powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3v chipset.

The iQOO Pad 2 Pro, on the other hand, will pack a larger 11,500mAh battery, delivering 14.8 hours of battery life. It will be the first-ever tablet to feature the Dimensity 9300 Plus chipset. On the other hand, the Pad 2 Pro will have an 8-megapixel front camera and a 13-megapixel rear camera. It will be available in 8+256GB/12+256GB/12+512GB/16+512GB variants. The tablet will also have other features, such as eight speakers and a USB-C Gen 1 port. Both tablets will be available in three shades, such as gray, silver, and blue. Vivo is expected to be working on the Pad 3, an affordable sibling to the Pad 3 Pro tablet, released earlier this year. While official details about the device are scarce at the moment, details of the Pad 3’s configuration have been now leaked by tipster Digital Chat Station.

The Pad 3 is expected to sport a sizeable 12.1-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 2800 x 1968 pixels. Notably, the display offers a smooth 144Hz refresh rate, which could be appealing for gamers or those who prioritize a fluid user experience.

At the heart of the device lies a Snapdragon 8s Gen3 processor. It’s the latest sub-flagship chip from Qualcomm, so you can expect it to handle your everyday tasks as well as gaming. Keeping things running will be a sizeable 10000mAh battery, so the tablet should deliver good stamina on a single charge.

Vivo just launched the Pad 3 Pro tablet in China, and it seems they’re planning to release even more tablets soon.

That is because three new tablets from Vivo (including some from their sub-brand iQOO) have been spotted on China’s 3C certification database. These tablets have the model numbers iPA2475, PA2455, and iPA2453.

Following their convention of using “i” prefixes for iQOO devices, speculation suggests the iPA2475, paired with a 66W fast charger listing, could be the iQOO Pad 2 Pro. Rumors suggest it might be a rebrand of the Vivo Pad 3 Pro.

Meanwhile, the iPA2453, listed with a 44W charger, could be the standard iQOO Pad 2. The PA2455 model, sporting a 44W charger listing, is said to be the vanilla Vivo Pad 3.

According to rumors, Vivo Pad 3 will be the first tablet to feature the new Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset. Like the iQOO Pad 2 Pro, the iQOO Pad 2 is also rumored to be a rebranded version of the Vivo Pad 3.

The first quarter of 2024 will soon come to an end, and in the second quarter, smartphone brands are expected to actively launch new smartphones in China. iQOO is one such brand that is expected to release as many as four new smartphones and a flagship tablet. Today, tipster Digital Chat Station released a Weibo post to share the key specifications of what looks like some of the upcoming iQOO devices.

Upcoming iQOO devices for China

The screenshot above shows that DCS has shared key details about three upcoming iQOO devices. The first device is said to feature an OLED panel that offers a 1.5K resolution, a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 (SM8635) chipset, and a 6,000mAh battery. Recent reports suggest that this device might make its market debut under the iQOO Z9 Turbo branding.

Other reports suggest that the IQOO Z9 Turbo will make its debut in April. The Z9 and Z9x, expected to feature the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 and Snapdragon 6 Gen 1v chipsets, respectively, are likely to join the Turbo model.

Tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed key specifications of the iQOO Pad 2 (model number iPA2475) and claimed that it should be released soon. This device will support 66W fast charging and will reportedly be compatible with the UFCS fast charging protocol.

Notably, UFCS is a next-generation fast charging protocol collaboratively developed by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), and smartphone manufacturers such as Huawei, Vivo, and Xiaomi.

The iQOO Pad 2 will reportedly equip a very similar specification to the alleged vivo Pad 3 Pro, which has previously been spotted in Geekbench with MediaTek’s most powerful chip so far, the Dimensity 9300. The vivo Pad3 Pro was previously reported to offer a 13.1″ 3.1K+ 144Hz LCD panel, 16GB RAM, 11500mAh, and not to mention a focus on performance.

The Dimensity 9300 is MediaTek’s latest flagship processor which was released in November last year. It is fabbed on TSMC’s 4nm process and equips 4 Cortex-X4 performance cores, one of which reaches a clock speed of 3.25GHz, while the rest of the three are clocked at 2.85GHz. Alongside the big cores, it packs 4 Cortex-A720 with a clock speed of 2.0 GHz, and the 12-core Immortalis-G720 GPU. This chip even supports MediaTek’s second generation hardware enabled ray tracing.

For reference, the iQOO Pad from May last year came equipped with a slightly smaller 12.1″ 2.8K 144Hz display that supports 600 nits peak brightness. It was also compatible with a stylus and touch keyboard, although, these were sold separately. This original iQOO Pad was powered by the Dimensity 9000+ chip and was paired with 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB onboard storage.
