Kingston has unveiled a “League of Legends” Yone co-branded edition of its XS1000 mobile solid-state drive at BilibiliWorld 2024. The 1TB version of this co-branded drive is priced at 699 yuan. Yone is a popular champion from League of Legends. In the game, he wields two swords and is generally built like an attack damage carry.

The drive offers 1TB capacity and utilizes a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C interface

Unlike previous co-branded editions, the XS1000 Yone version maintains the original product design but includes a protective cover featuring the Yone character. The drive offers a 1TB capacity and utilizes a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C interface, delivering read and write speeds of up to 1050MB/s and 1000MB/s, respectively.

OnePlus is all set to launch its latest offering, the OnePlus Ace 2V, on March 7th in China. The device is specifically designed to cater to the needs of mobile gamers, with a host of features that promise a seamless gaming experience. The company has been teasing its features on Weibo.

One of the most exciting features of the OnePlus Ace 2V is its support for high frame rates in popular games like “League of Legends” and “Game for Peace”. The source code for the massively popular game League of Legends is apparently being held hostage by hackers. In exchange for not leaking the source code, the hackers are asking for a ransom worth millions. So here are all the details.

The hackers that have managed to steal the source code for the successful MOBA title are asking Riot Gamers for a sum of 10 million US Dollars. According to a new report, the hackers had sent a random email to the Riot Games which read, “Dear Riot Games, We have obtained your valuable data, including the precious anti-cheat source code and the entire game code for League of Legends and its tools, as well as Packman, your usermode anti cheat. We understand the significance of these artifacts and the impact their release to the public would have on your major titles, Valorant and League of Legends. In light of this, we are making a small request for an exchange of $10,000,000.”

For evidence, the hackers also sent the studio two large PDFs that showed that they had managed to gain access to Packman and the League of Legends source codes. The hackers also claimed that once the ransom is paid, they will erase the code from their servers and “provide insight into how the breach occurred and offer advice on preventing future breaches”. The ransom note further added that “We do not wish to harm your reputation or cause public disturbance. Our sole motivation is financial gain”.

The message also revealed that the ransom is due in 12 hours and that “failure to do so will result in the hack being made public and the extent of the breach being known to more individuals.” While Riot Games did confirm that the League of Legends source code was stolen, it has refused to comment any details regarding its plans. Although, the company did share in a tweet that they would not be paying the 10 million US Dollar sum to the hacker.

A couple of days ago, Chinese manufacturer OPPO had launched a new limited edition variant of its Reno7 Pro in its home country, dubbed OPPO Reno7 Pro League of Legends Mobile Game Limited Edition.

Today, that limited edition smartphone is available for purchase in China for the price of 3,999 yuan which roughly converts to $628. The company will be selling the first batch of around 10,000 units in today’s sale.

The OPPO Reno7 Pro League of Legends Mobile Game Limited Edition comes with some new design elements. It has a “soft shadow crystal technology,” a cyan-purple gradient border, an ‘L’ denoting League of Legends, and a cyan-accented camera module.

The phone also comes with several customized accessories, including a mobile phone case, charger, graffiti stickers, mobile phone pendants, and more, along with a special box design. Even the pin for the SIM card tray comes in a fancy bullet design, inspired by the League of Legends character Jinx’s necklace.

The company has also customized the phone’s software ColorOS 12 to match the League of Legends, which could be the deepest customization in OPPO’s history. There are custom icons, wallpapers, system UI colors, app backgrounds, and much more.

In terms of specifications, the phone has the same set of specs as the original model. It features a 6.55-inch AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200-Max chipset with up to 12GB LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage.

Anker has collaborated with League of Legends to launch a special 30W GaN fast charger priced at 149 Yuan or around $23. Its appearance is themed to match one of the characters from the game called ‘Jinx.’

This special LoL edition of the charger not only has gotten a visual rework though as the power and size of the charger have also been reportedly upgraded. Earlier today, Krafton released version 1.7 of BGMI (Battlegrounds Mobile India) to both the Google Play Store and iOS App Store. The update features the new ‘League of Legends, Arcane,’ Netflix series, based event called the Mirror World Theme mode. The update also brings new gameplay elements and mechanics like piggybacking and grenade indicators. The former will allow the players to pick up a downed teammate or enemy.

BGMI X ARCANE

The Mirror Wold Theme is available in Erangel, Livik, and Sanhok starting today. The Mirror World, marked by a blue indicator on the map, appears in the sky after some time passes after entering the maps. Players can enter the mode by using the Wind Wall on the ground, which will transform the player into one of the four legends—Jinx, Vi, Jayce, and Caitlyn—of League of Legends, Arcane, the Netflix series. The player can kill a monster on the Mirror Island with the Arcade character’s weapons and skills. Players can get “Hextech Crystals” as a reward if they kill a monster that can be used to exchange with various battle items. Once the character dies or playtime on the Mirror Island ends, they can return to the normal battlegrounds.

The Mirror world mode also features the Nimbus islands, which you can land on as soon as you get off the plane. Yellow indicators mark these islands on the map. You get a timer of 5 minutes on this island during which you can play on this island. After you die or the timer runs out, you will be kicked off the island and land below the map.

Liverpool FC event

You’ll Never Walk Alone will be an event coming to BGMI starting November 20, featuring the famous football team, Liverpool FC. Krafton confirmed the collaboration with the football club earlier today. The event will offer rewards such as the Liverpool FC parachute, the Liverpool FC backpack, and even the much-coveted Liverpool FC jersey.

Balance and gameplay changes

This update also brings us some balance and gameplay changes. The beloved DP28 has been nerfed with increased recoil when equipping bigger sights and reducing long-range damage. The DMRs like the SLR, SKS, and mini14 have received a buff to their damage on long ranges. On the other hand, changes to gameplay come in the form of a grenade indicator that shows the grenade’s exact location. The piggyback feature will allow the players to pick up a downed teammate or enemy, and while carrying, the player’s movement is slowed, and one cannot use items or ride a vehicle. The carried player’s HP decreases during the carry.

Royal Pass and more

The Royale Pass month 5 rolls out at 360UC starting today, on the theme of the mysterious Mirror Realm. Krafton says the update also brings certain improvements after collecting feedback from the game enthusiasts to allow for greater finesse, control, and strategy during the game. Krafton also teased the fan favourite modes, including Vikendi map, Metro Royale, Survive Til Dawn, and more modes, that will be brought back equentially.

The mobile port of LoL (League of Legends) is finally making its way to China. Riot’s popular MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) title will be available in the region starting from September 15.

The announcement was made on the official Weibo account of League of Legends: Wild Rift earlier today (14th September 2021). The mobile port of the popular title received the approval this week by China’s National Press and Publication Administration. At the moment, League of Legends: Wild Rift was already available in the country before for testing, but now, the game will finally be getting a wider beta launch with users not losing any of their progress or data.

As of right now, LoL is one of the most played competitive multiplayer title in the world and is also quite popular in China. In recent years, the mobile gaming industry has seen huge growth and it seems that Riot has plans to branch into it as well. Even prior to its official launch in the nation, an esports scene has already began within China by TJ Sport, which also conducts the LPL AKA Pro League. However, on checking the website, the device seems to be out of stock as we write this article.

The Chinese tech giant has yet to confirm the news, although, the official promotional image was also leaked prior to the launch, giving us a first look at the new special variants of the devices.

In the tournament that kicked-off on 2nd October in Berlin, 24 teams were competing in a series of epic death matches. As a sponsor of the tournament, the smartphone company Oppo had set up experience booth from November 5th-10th. It also presented the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award and showcased its smartphone.

The company officially announced in September that it had became the exclusive global smartphone partner for LoL Esports international events, which includes The World Championship, Mid-Season Invitational, and All-Star Event.

Notably, this is a long-term partnership and Oppo has already signed on for five years. The company said that it is eagerly looking forward to further cooperation with the global Esports event and added that there’s much more in store, including a whole host of activations surrounding The World Championship, Mid-Season Invitational, and All-Star Event – with more to be announced.

Oppo said that this long-term alliance with League of Legends publisher Riot Games lasts through 2024. This further marks the company’s exploration in the field of Esports, broadening existing sports and entertainment sponsorships. League of Legends Esports joined the list of sports partners for Oppo, which includes Wimbledon, FC Barcelona, the International Cricket Council as well as another mobile Esports tournament – the Tencent Playerunknown Battle Ground Mobile Challenger Cup.

Through this partnership, League of Legends Esports aims to further enhance fans’ live event and viewing experiences around its global sporting events, while Oppo’s commitment allows them to better engage with the growing player base of the world’s top Esport.

OPPO has just announced that it is the official smartphone partner for League of Legends starting 2019. This will be a multi-year deal where the sponsorship will continue till 2024. The smartphone maker will sponsor the Mid-Season Invitational, the All-Star Event, and the World Championship.

This partnership marks OPPO’s first entry into the e-sports big leagues. The smartphone maker will join the likes of Mastercard, Alienware, and Louis Vuitton as the official sponsor of the game. This move isn’t surprising since OPPO has sponsored big names such as FC Barcelona, Wimbledon, and even ICC (International Cricket Council). Given this announcement today, it won’t be surprising to see a limited League of Legends edition for one of its flagships later this year. The company follows a similar tradition after its FC Barcelona tie-up. We have already seen FC Barcelona Editions for the Reno 10X Zoom, R11, and even R9 models.

Starting the 2019 World Championship of LoL, OPPO will have activations for ‘MVP Presented by OPPO’, ‘OPPO Cam’ for behind-the-scenes footage, and ‘Welcome to the Rift’ for teams making an inaugural appearance at the World Championships.
