OnePlus has officially unveiled its 45W Liquid-Cooled Magnetic Wireless Charging Cooler at an introductory price of 549 yuan ($76). This cutting-edge device claims to reduce temperatures by up to 34°C at idle, making it a significant innovation in the cooling technology industry.

The unique cooler stands out with its magnetic, lightweight design (73g, 12mm thin) that supports 10W magnetic wireless charging. Notably, it integrates an innovative liquid-cooling system, providing 50 times higher convective heat transfer efficiency compared to traditional air-cooling. This is achieved through components like a liquid cooling plate, Hall sensor, TEC cooling plate, thermal conductive silicone pad, and a high-performance water pump for enhanced cooling efficiency.

For expanded compatibility with a wide range of devices, including phones, laptops, tablets, and even the Nintendo Switch, OnePlus offers a separate heat-conductive magnetic adhesive patch (available for separate purchase).

An interesting feature of the OnePlus cooler is its low noise level of just 24dB even under high power. The design is geared towards hands-free cooling without generating hot airflow, providing a seamless user experience.

Moreover, OnePlus has implemented triple condensation water protection in this cooler to tackle potential issues like condensation within the device due to excessive cooling or obstructions in the water pipe or fan. The device instantly enters a protection state under these circumstances, ensuring safety and efficiency.

This new cooler builds upon a previous model released by OnePlus in April, which lacked the magnetic charging functionality and was priced at 469 yuan ($65).

However, it wasn’t the only new product launch as the company also unveiled a new 45W liquid cooling accessory for its smartphones. This is a first for the company and so here are all the details.

Certain smartphone makers offer external cooling accessories for their devices, and it appears that the Chinese brand is among them now. It has unveiled the new 45W liquid cooler that can attach to your smartphone and help keep the thermals in check during intensive tasks. During the major event, the company announced the new mobile accessory that can simply snap onto the back of your handset and uses a liquid cooling agent that keeps the temperature low.

As smartphone (especially flagship models) get more and more powerful and run graphically intensive games, power consumption and heat generation has also risen. This is where the external cooler comes in play as it helps the CPU from throttling. For those unaware, throttling is when the CPU on a handset lowers its performance as it gets hotter. Thus, reducing the temperature not only helps maintain peak performance for better gameplay experience thanks to higher frame rates and even keep power consumption in check.

Interestingly, the accessory is made with two parts. The first part attaches to the back of your device, while a cable connects it the second part, which is basically a small box. This device starts running as soon as you snap it onto your phone. As per official claims, the OnePlus 45W Liquid Cooling accessory can reduce temperatures by up to 20 degree Celsius. The iQOO Z5 has been teased again earlier today (22nd September 2021). This time, the company boasted of the smartphone’s cooling capabilities highlighting some of its key thermal management systems.

The Chinese smartphone maker has just shared a new image poster that revealed certain information regarding its cooling system. Looking at the image poster, we can see that the device will be equipped with flagship grade VC liquid cooling and will also feature a large heat dissipation area as well. For those unaware, the handset will sport the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G processor and 120Hz display, which implies that the iQOO Z5 also aims to offer a smooth gaming experience.

With mobile gaming being increasingly more popular in recent times, it is important to ensure that the device runs cool even during intense gaming to keep the performance from throttling and prevent the smartphone from getting too hot as well. From what we know so far, the Z5 will be powered by a large 5,000mAh battery pack that supports up to 44W fast charging, a 64 megapixel primary camera, LPDDR5 memory, and UFS 3.1 storage. iQOO, a sub-brand of Vivo that launches premium high-end smartphones, is gearing up to launch its new lineup — the iQOO 7 series in India. Ahead of making devices official, the company has been teasing some features of the phones.

In the latest teaser, the company has revealed the phone’s liquid cooling technology. It confirms that the iQOO 7 and 7 Legend will come with advanced Liquid Cooling Technology to help with heat dissipation, reports GSMArena.

The device uses copper tubes to transfer liquid from the chipset area, outwards towards the cooler area of the graphite plate. Further, the company reveals that the plate has a 6,000 sq. mm of surface to dissipate heat away towards the exterior.

The graphite plate is used in conjunction with a magnesium alloy core, conductivity gel, and vapor chamber. With this, the company claims that it can achieve up to 14-degree celsius operating temperatures and up to 4-degree celsius external surface temperature.

On the other hand, the iQOO 7 Legend uses a Vapor Chamber with a surface area of 4,096 sq. mm, combined with the internal “capillary structure + power pump” that can quickly transport and disperse heat.

The company had previously confirmed that the device will come with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. iQOO claims that the 7 Legend has scored 830K+ points on the AnTuTu benchmarking platform.

As for the other specs, it is believed that the iQOO 7 Legend could feature a 6.62-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ screen resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It will also come with an in-display fingerprint sensor for added protection.

The flagship phone may feature a front camera of 16-megapixel and its rear-facing camera module may comprise of a 48-megapixel main camera with OIS support, a 13-megapixel telephoto snapper, and a 120-degree 13-megapixel super-wide lens.

The launch of the new iQOO 7 series is slated to take place on 26th April in India and the devices will be available for purchase through Amazon. Recently, it has been confirmed that the iQOO 7 in India will be a rebranded version of the iQOO Neo5.

Earlier today (19th May 2020), Realme officially announced the new Realme X50 Pro Player Edition. This version is equipped with certain gaming centric features like VC liquid cooling, a HyperBoost gaming mode, and even a new vibrating motor.

The Realme X50 Pro Player Edition is the fourth entry in the Chinese company’s flagship series and will arrive with top notch specs for the best gaming experience. According to the company’s official teasers, a few features have been revealed. It will house a new Tactile Engine, basically a new vibrating motor, which will likely to replicate the gaming console controllers vibrating motors.

Earlier today (17th March 2020), Redmi revealed a few details regarding its upcoming premium flagship, the Redmi K30 Pro. In the press conference, the Xiaomi subsidiary revealed that the smartphone will feature a VC liquid cooled heat sink which will improve performance and enable Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 SoC to run at full capacity.

According to the official image poster, the Redmi K30 Pro will be equipped with a 3435 square millimeter of liquid cooled heat sink which is claimed to offer improved thermal performance and allow for greater heat dissipation over traditional cooling methods. Lu Weibing, General Manager of Redmi, stated that the name of the new VC heat sink or vapor chamber is along the line of a vacuum sink heat sink cooling technology.

For those unaware, heat sinks are basically copper tubes that run along the length on the device’s internals covering heat generating components such as the processor, memory, and battery. These tubes carry the liquid cooling solution which uses the principle of gas to liquid phase change to conduct heat from one side of the device to another. In simple terms, this allows for better heat dispersion and lowers overall temperatures during extended or intensive periods of smartphone usage.

Technically, the more powerful a processor, the more power it draws and the heat generated rise as well. The Snapdragon 865 SoC is currently one of the fastest most powerful chipsets which is commercially available and is capable of running intense gaming apps and more. This generated heat which can reduce the overall performance of the device, but Redmi K30 Pro’s new liquid heat sink can lower the heat generated, allowing for more performance gains over a given period of use.

Update: the Redmi K30 Pro has just been confirmed to feature UFS 3.1. The new storage standard is the latest and fastest memory chip currently available commercially in the market and will provide read speeds up to 750MB/s. The image poster shared also states that this may be the “strongest performance combination’ in the 5G era.” By comparison, UFS 3.0 only offered read speeds between 400MB/s or 260MB/s.

Generally, during a smartphone launch conference, especially the premium flagships, the OEM will try and boast of the smartphone’s capabilities. This works especially well with mobile benchmarking platforms. Now, the Nubia Red Magic 5G has just been announced and score over 640,000 points in AnTuTu testing.

According to Nubia, the Red Magic 5G scored within the brackets of 620,000 to 640,000 in the tests in AnTuTu benchmarking software. It achieved such a high score through the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC that powers the device. The chipset is the latest in line from the chipmaking giant’s flagship entries and offers top notch performance.

As of right now, the smartphone’s featuring the Snapdragon 865 SoC have generally scored around or a bit higher than the 600,000 mark. So, Nubia Red Magic 5G holds the bragging rights in regards to being one of the highest scoring device ever on AnTuTu. Nubia stated that the high score is in part due to powerful hardware but mostly thanks to its software optimizations and fine tuning.

Notably, the company stated that its exclusive technology Magic Write, which allows for faster read and write speeds, is also transparent to developers. In other words, software developers and other third party developers do not need to modify their applications. Thus, providing the Nubia Red Magic 5G with such an impressive score.

Another positive aspect that goes along with the performance of the smartphone is the new heat dissipation system in place. Nubia claims this technology is the industry’s best with ICE 3.0 three dimensional heat dissipation system. In simpler terms, the technology utilizes air cooling, liquid cooling and thermally conductive materials like gels, graphite, copper foil, and other materials as well.

In the launch event, Nubia even called out the industry practice of portraying synthetic benchmark tests using refrigerators. For those unaware, testing platforms like AnTuTu draw a lot of power from the processor leading to an increase in temperatures within the device. In longer tests, this leads to thermal throttling that reduces performance and scores. Thus, various OEMs put their smartphones in fridges to demonstrate the full potential. However, Nubia Red Magic 5G didn’t require any such external cooling method and calls the industry’s practice as cheating or unfair.

Vivo is set to launch the Vivo Z6 later this week, on 29th February 2020. The smartphone is the latest entry in the Vivo Z series of smartphones and will arrive with improvements across the board, especially gaming. According to a teaser shared by Vivo, the Z6 will arrive with the latest Multi Turbo 3.0 acceleration engine which combines with the desktop level liquid cooling system to provide an even cooler gaming experience. Generally, smartphones run hotter than normal when playing intensive video games, so the addition of this specialized cooling technology is a great addition that will help keep the device temperature at lower levels.

As for the liquid cooling system, the Vivo Z6 features an 85mm long liquid cooling tube and a multi layer graphite heat sink that covers a total area of more than 10,000 square millimeters. This translates to the temperature of the smartphone being dropped by about 10 degrees Celsius. The system is managed by a built in Cooling Turbo system, that intelligently manages the thermals while gaming.

Alongside such hardware enhancing technology, the Vivo Z6 also brings gaming experience to the forefront with software optimizations as well. The smartphone is equipped with Game Space 3.0 and adds features like an eSports mode, that provides an immersive gaming experience for hardcore mobile gamers. ZTE-backed Nubia launched the Red Magic 3 gaming smartphone in May this year and now the company is all set to launch another gaming smartphone, dubbed Red Magic 3S. Ahead of the phone’s launch tomorrow in China, the company has been teasing the upcoming smartphone’s features.

In the latest development, the company has confirmed that the Red Magic 3S will come with support for Air Cooling feature as well as Liquid Cooling. This Dual Cooling Technology will ensure that the phone doesn’t heat up even after prolonged gaming.

Recently, the company had revealed that the phone will come with support for 3D surround sound and prior to that, Nubia confirmed that the smartphone will feature a display with 90Hz refresh rate and will also offer 4D Vibration feedback for an enhanced gaming experience.

Soon after the launch of Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus octa-core flagship chipset, Nubia had announced that it will soon launch a smartphone powered by the same. Thus, the Red Magic 3S is expected to come packed with SD855+ SoC for the increased performance with this new gaming-centric processor.

The Snapdragon 855 Plus octa-core chipset upgrades the CPU and offers a clock speed of up to 2.96GHz compared to 2.84GHz on the standard SD855. Further, the graphics performance on this new chipset has also been increased by 15 percent.

The smartphone is expected to pack a large-capacity battery, possibly retain the 5,000mAh capacity battery of the Red Magic 3. As for the design, we expect the company to have an air cooling system and given that the phone is an offshoot of the Red Magic 3, the device is expected to continue with the heat dissipation design.

The Nubia Red Magic 3 features the industry’s first cooling fan inside which doesn’t use any physical bearings and is made out of nanomaterials. The company says that the fan runs at 14K RPM and consumes very little power. It is also supported by a liquid-cooled copper tube to keep the temperature inside cooler.

We’ll have to wait for a few more hours to know for sure what the company is offering with this Red Magic 3S gaming smartphone, as well as its pricing and availability details. We had previously caught a glimpse of the Redmi Note 8 Pro in its beautiful green color variant. However, today, Redmi has just shown off the new device in high-quality official renders. The Redmi Note 7 Pro‘s flagship was its blue color variant but for its successor, the brand has chosen a special emerald green color. Honestly, it looks quite different and gives the phone a premium vibe.

These renders also serve the purpose of showing you that the phone’s signal will be strong in any position. The company has optimized the antenna placement to ensure strong connectivity in any grip position.

The Redmi Note 8 Pro shouldn’t be too wide and should be comfortable to hold. Like previously teased, the phone will feature a quad-camera setup at the back with one of the sensors being the new 64MP Samsung GW1. We can also confirm that the fingerprint sensor will be located at the back.

While the phone may have a tall profile, it most definitely won’t be lightweight. This is because Redmi has confirmed that the Note 8 Pro will feature a large 4500mAh battery on board. Redmi’s GM Lu Weibing adds that since the Redmi Note 8 Pro comes with the Helio G90T gaming processor which is built using a 12nm process, its power consumption is higher than other 7nm processors. To solve this issue, the company decided to add an even bigger battery on the new device. He also confirmed that the phone will come with a charger faster than 10W. This was likely his way of making fun of the Honor 9X which features a slow 10W charger.

Did we mention that the phone comes with liquid cooling too? Yes! The Redmi Note 8 Pro will come with copper pipe liquid cooling which the brand says reduces the phone’s temperature by 4-6°C. The company’s teasers have confirmed that gaming is a priority feature for the device as even the antennas are placed considering a user’s gaming position to ensure the best connectivity.

Overall, if the new Redmi Note 8 Pro is priced close its predecessor’s pricing, we are looking at a new champion in this segment. However, with liquid cooling and Helio G90T onboard it’s quite possible that this new generation model will be priced higher than the RN7Pro.

Redmi is gearing up to launch its next-generation Note series smartphones — Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro on 29th August. The company has already confirmed that the phone will be powered by the MediaTek Helio G90T chipset, which is focused on gaming users.

The company has already revealed some of the features of the upcoming devices and today, Redmi has revealed one of the major features that will be present on the Redmi Note 8 Pro smartphone — Liquid Cooling.

Yes, the Redmi Note 8 Pro will come with liquid cooling support, enabling users to play games for a longer duration without worrying about the heating issues. This makes sense given that the phone is powered by a gaming-centric chipset.

Earlier today, Redmi brand’s General Manager Lu Weibing shared AnTuTu score of the Redmi Note 8 Pro powered by Helio G90T chipset, which beats Snapdragon 710 SoC but ranks a bit lower when compared to Kirin 810 chipset.

The 12nm Helio G90T includes two Cortex-A76 cores working at 2.05 GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores working at 2GHz. It includes ARM Mali G76 graphics that clocks at 800MHz and it carries support 21:9 aspect ratio display, 90Hz refresh rate, HDR10 standard, up to 10 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.1 storage.

The Helio G90 series of chipsets support HyperEngine for improved connectivity between a smartphone and a cellular network. There is Dual Wi-Fi connection support that allows the phone to connect to two Wi-Fi networks at the same time. Its other features include Call and Data Concurrency, Resource Management Engine and a Picture Quality Engine.

The company has already confirmed Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 64-megapixel lens as the primary unit in the quad-camera setup of the Redmi Note 8 Pro. The camera sensors will be placed vertically with three camera sensors followed by a fingerprint reader. Alongside, there’s an LED flash and the fourth camera sensor.

In terms of design, the phone could be sporting a rear design that is quite similar to the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro smartphones. The phone will be equipped with features like NFC and IR Blaster and the battery will support 18W fast charging.
