The phone has a 6.57-inch OLED “120Hz Original-Color Curved Display”. It can display up to 1.07 billion colors and has a 300Hz touch sampling rate. It also has a P3 wide color gamut.

Huawei has put a Snapdragon 778G 4G processor inside the phone and paired it with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It also adds that the phone uses AI technology to prioritize tasks and optimize performance when gaming.

The cameras are one of the main features of the phone. The main sensor on the back is a 50MP Ultra Vision Main Camera with a 1/1.56-inch sensor with an RYYB color filter array that captures 40% more light than an RYYB sensor. This allows it to take better photos in low-light conditions. There is also an 8MP ultrawide angle camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. The centered punch-hole on the display is home to a 32MP Hi-Res front camera that can record in 4K like the main rear camera and also has AI Image Stabilization.

There are a bunch of camera features such as the ability to switch between the front and rear camera while recording without interruption, simultaneously recording from both the front camera and rear camera, and being able to take a close-up sot and wide-angle shot at the same time. The Nova 9 also has a Remote Shutter feature that allows it to be set up on a tripod and take a photo with your friends. The phone comes with the Petal Clip app which has video templates and themes for editing videos before posting.

Inside the phone is a 4300mAh battery with support for 66W Huawei SuperCharge fast charging, and when the processor is running heavy tasks, a combination of VC Liquid Cooling and graphene helps dissipate the heat faster.

It runs EMUI 12 and among the software features of the Nova 9 is Device+, a tab in the control panel that allows users to control and easily set up multi-device collaboration with other devices such as the Huawei Vision, FreeBuds, MatePad, and MateBook. By tapping the MatePad or MateBook icons, you can easily activate multi-screen collaboration with these devices, and tapping the FreeBuds icon will route your audio to the earbuds. There is also the Distributed File System which allows the Nova 9 to serve as a wireless connected external storage for the PC. This feature requires the PC and the phone to be logged into the same Huawei account and is compatible with select models.

Huawei Nova 9 Price and Availability

The launch of the Nova 8i and Nova 9 in Europe is actually quite interesting based on the fact that the Honor 50 Lite coming to Europe is based on the Nova 8i while the Honor 50 is slightly different from the Nova 9.

The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 778G chipset but unlike the Honor 50 which has the same SoC, Huawei’s own phone doesn’t have 5G.

The display is a 6.57-inch FHD+ OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. The variant coming to Europe has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of non-expandable storage. On the back are quad cameras – a 50MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide angle camera, a 2MP depth camera, and a 2MP macro camera. The Honor 50 has a similar configuration but swaps the 50MP camera for a 108MP one. The front-facing camera is a 32MP sensor and there is an under-display fingerprint scanner. It has a 4300mAh battery and supports 67W fast charging.

Nova 9 and Nova 9 Pro Specs

The Nova 9 has a 6.57-inch 2340 x 1080 screen while the Nova 9 Pro packs a bigger 6.72-inch 2676 x 1236 screen. Both displays are curved OLED panels with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 300Hz touch sampling rate, and a P3 color gamut. One distinguishing feature is that the standard model has a centered punch hole for a single camera while the pro model has a bigger cut-out on the top left corner for two cameras.

Both Nova 9 phones have the Snapdragon 778G processor under their hood but with 4G instead of 5G. The chipset is paired with 8GB of RAM and both phones will be available in 128GB and 256GB configurations.

The cameras are an important part of these phones, so we will talk about them under a separate heading. For the rest of the specs, the Nova 9 has a 4300mAh battery capacity with support for 66W fast charging while the Nova 9 Pro has a smaller 4000mAh battery but charges faster at 100W. Huawei claims the pro model will charge from empty to full in 20 minutes. The pro model also has VC + graphene cooling to keep the temperature down when playing games or running CPU-intensive tasks.

The two phones have Bluetooth 5.2 with support for LDAC, NFC with support for payment, dual-band Wi-Fi, dual-SIM support, dual-frequency GPS with support for NavIC, and an in-display fingerprint scanner. Huawei will ship both phones with HarmonyOS 2 out of the box.

Huawei Nova 9 series cameras

The camera department is one of the major differences between both phones. The Nova 9 Pro has two 32MP front-facing cameras – one sensor is an ultrawide angle camera with an f/2.4 aperture while the other is an f/2.0 portrait camera. On the Nova 9, there is a single 32MP front-facing camera.

Huawei says the front cameras can record in 4K, slow motion, shoot portrait videos, and have video stabilization. There is also night mode for videos, and support for recording time-lapse videos. For photos, users can take ultrawide angle selfies, portrait selfies, and portrait selfies with night mode.

Huawei Nova 9 Rumor Roundup: What to Expect?

Back in June, the Huawei Nova 9 came into existence. Soon after it was leaked, the phone series was spotted on official certifications like TENAA. The Huawei Nova 9 series will comprise of two phones – Nova 9 & Nova 9 Pro.

Display and Design

The duo will come with a punch-hole panel with thinner bezels. Both phones have a curved screen on the sides. The major difference between the two will be the display size. The Nova 9 features a 6.57-inch OLED display with a single punch-hole camera on the upper-middle side. The Nova 9 Pro, on the other hand, has a larger 6.72-inch screen with a dual punch-hole camera on the upper left side.

Cameras on the Huawei Nova 9 and Nova 9 Pro

Moving to the cameras, the series is expected to come with a quad-camera system. The main sensor in both phones will be a 50MP lens, followed by an ultra-wide lens, and two 2MP sensors on the Pro model.

The brand shared the new short film on its official Weibo account, a Chinese microblogging website. In the video, we can see the Chinese celebrity Yi Yang Qianxi who highlighted the device’s camera capabilities that can be used for vlogging (video blogging) through the HarmonyOS multi camera mode as well. For those unaware, the Nova 9 will sport a quad camera setup on the rear while the front facing selfie shooter will be housed in a pill shaped punch hole cutout.

Previously, the smartphone was recently certified by 3C as well as TENAA, revealing some key specifications and features. The variant that carried the model number RTE-AL00, features an OLED display with an under display fingerprint sensor. Furthermore, the series is likely to come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC, but will reportedly arrive with support for only 4G LTE connectivity and not 5G networking.

But, there’s a possibility that the company may launch a 5G variant at a later date. The Huawei Nova 9 is said to be powered by a 4,500mAh battery while the Pro variant in the lineup will reportedly pack a 4,000mAh battery but will have support for a 66W fast charging. So stay tuned for more, as we will be covering the launch event later this month.

The device was also spotted at the 3C certification site. It is speculated that this device will be debuting in the Chinese market as the Huawei Nova 9. According to a tipster, Huawei will be announcing the Nova 9 on Sept. 23.

The new leak further reveals that the Nova 9 will be equipped with Snapdragon 778G chipset’s 4G version. After the announcement, the device is expected to go on sale from Sept. 29 in China.

The TENAA images of the RTE-AL00 revealed that it features an OLED screen with an in-screen fingerprint scanner and a pill-shaped cutout for dual front cameras. The back panel of the phone has an oval-shaped camera module that houses a quad-camera unit. The 3C certification of the device revealed that it may ship with a 66W fast charger. The same tipster has previously claimed that the Nova 9 houses a 4,500mAh battery.

Another Huawei phone with model number NAM-AL00 was spotted with RTE-AL00 at 3C last month. The 3C listing of the device revealed that it is a 4G LTE phone and it may arrive with support for 100W fast charging. This device is speculated to break cover as the Huawei Nova 9 Pro. It is speculated to arrive with a 4,000mAh battery.

Huawei is yet to confirm the existence of the Nova 9 series. Now that it is tipped to go official on Sept. 23, the Chinese manufacturer is expected to confirm its launch date in the coming days.

As per the known tipster, the company will be launching the device late next month, however, the online post did not reveal any specific date or time of the launch. Notably, the September launch is in line with previous reports although the launch conference was initially expected to be in the middle of the month. The brand might have shifted the dates to a later time to better stock up on the upcoming devices.

He stated that the Chinese tech giant has also prepared sufficient stocks for the Nova 9 series. The leakster claimed that the inventory of the device is more than the Huawei P50 series that was previously launched. In other words, customers awaiting the launch of the new handsets wouldn’t have to worry about a shortage, which has been an issue during smartphone launches in the past as well. Furthermore, @菊厂影业Fans also added that there will be many new products that will be released alongside the Nova 9. Unfortunately, we have no way of knowing exactly which products will be launching next month as of right now but it could be a new all in one PC and a desktop printer going by our previous report.

While finer details of the Nova 9 series is currently unknown, we do have certain specs thanks to a 3C certification. The Nova 9 Pro will support up to 100W fast charging while the base model will support up to 66W fast charging. Meanwhile, another tipster had revealed that the Pro variant will be powered by a large 4,000mAh battery pack while the base variant will house a 4,500mAh battery pack. We had also previously reported that the company might plan on launching the 4G versions prior to the 5G enabled variants as well. The new phones have received their 3C certificates and it reveals some key details about them.

The Chinese manufacturer will launch two Nova 9 phones first but more should be released later considering the Nova 8 series has more than four models. The Nova 9 and Nova 9 Pro are the first two that will be announced and the 3C certificate reveals their model numbers are NAM-AL00 and RTE-AL00 respectively.

The certificate shows that the Nova 9 Pro will have support for multiple charging ratings. The phone will be able to charge at 10W, 66W, and also 100W. The Nova 9, on the other hand, will support 10W, 40W, and 66W fast charging.

Another important detail the certificate reveals is that both phones support LTE and not 5G. This confirms an earlier report that Huawei will launch 4G variants of the Nova 9 series before the 5G models.

In related news, the Chinese leaker, Bald Panda, posted on Weibo that the Nova 9 will have a 4500mAh battery while the Nova 9 Pro will have a smaller 4000mAh battery. The post also mentioned that the former will have support for 66W fast charging while the pro model will max out at 100W.

The Nova 9 series will have a design similar to that of the Nova 8 series, so we will be seeing a return of the gigantic pill-shaped camera housing. The rest of the specifications are still unknown but we should see more details surface in the weeks leading up to the release of the phones.

Last year, it announced its first desktop computer, the MateStation B515. It has also released a couple of standalone monitors, with the latest ones being the MateView and MateView GT. Now, a new leak has revealed it will announce two new computer products next month.

According to serial leaker of Huawei-related news, Teme (@RODENT950), Huawei will launch an All-in-One PC and a printer next month. The tweet includes an image of the All-in-One and it looks just like the MateView monitor.

This is not the first time we have heard of a Huawei All-in-One PC. Back in December of 2020, it was reported that it had been granted a patent for the computer. Now it is ready to announce it after nine months.

New All-in-one PC and printer coming next month. Also new Nova 9 series phones. #Huawei pic.twitter.com/yZuTu2MS7Z

Huawei will also announce a desktop printer along with the computer. While this will also be its first desktop computer, it isn’t its first printer. Back in 2018, Huawei announced a portable photo printer that uses ZINK inkless printing technology. With its first desktop printer, Huawei will be going against established brands such as HP, Canon, and Epson.

The leaker has also reaffirmed that the successor to the Nova 8 series is also on the way. An earlier report from last week said the Nova 9 series may launch in mid-September. The new Nova 9 series is coming 9 months after the Nova 8 5G and Nova 8 Pro 5G were announced, however, it may not have 5G like its predecessors.

Huawei has had to resort to launching phones with 4G processors as a result of the ban. Only a few devices with 5G have been announced and they usually arrive later than the 4G models.

According to @菊厂影业Fans on Weibo, a Chinese microblogging website, the company might be planning on launching the Nova 9 series in two variants. This includes a 4G variant and a 5G variant. For those unaware, the Chinese tech giant has been struggling with chip supply due to US sanctions, which even caused it to ship its latest Huawei P50 series of flagship smartphones without the support for 5G networking.

While the tipster had earlier stated that this device will support 5G, he further added that the brand will first launch the Nova 9 lineup in a 4G version. Reportedly, the Nova 9 will have the same marketing and distribution as the flagship P50 series, so it might arrive in a 4G variant before its 5G enabled version is launched. Furthermore, he had also previously stated that the design of the smartphone will be better than the Honor 50 series, although, the processor won’t be as powerful as the Qualcomm Snapragon 778 SoC.

Fresh information shared by a Chinese tipster (via) reveals that the company is gearing up to launch Nova 9 series by mid-September in the home market. He also shared some key information about the Nova 9 series.

According to the tipster, the appearance and colors of the Nova 9 5G series will be better than the Honor 50 series. However, its processor will not be as good as the Honor 50 lineup. To recollect, the Honor 50/50 Pro debuted in June as the world’s first phone powered by the Snapdragon 778G chipset.

At present, there is no information available on whether the Nova 9 series will be driven by a MediaTek or a Qualcomm chip. Hopefully, newer reports will reveal more information about the Nova 9 lineup.

In related news, a new Huawei phone with model number RTE-AL00 was certified by the TENAA authority of China (via) recently. The TENAA certification has no information on its specifications. However, its images available at the certification site have revealed that it could be an upcoming Nova series phone.

The RTE-AL00 has a Nova branding on its back and its appearance is very similar to the Nova 8 Pro 4G/5G smartphone. The display of the RTE-AL00 features a pill-shaped cutout, which indicates that it features a dual selfie camera system. The rear-facing camera module has two rings, the upper one has the main lens, whereas the second one features three cameras and an LED flash. While it is a 4G LTE phone, there is no word on its final marketing name. Hence, it remains to be seen whether it arrives as a Nova-series phone in the market.

Several digital bloggers from China are claiming that the company could be working on the Nova 9 series. It is also being speculated that the Nova 9 lineup may debut between August to October.

It is speculated that the Nova 9 series will be similar to the Nova 8 lineup in terms of specifications and design. The Nova 8 came with an oval-shaped camera module that houses a main lens at the top and it was followed by other cameras.

There is a possibility that Nova 9 may have dual camera rings like the upcoming Huawei P50 series. The top ring may house the main lens, while the second ring may house the other lenses and an LED flash.

Leaked information that appeared in May claimed that the Nova 9 could be featuring the Kirin 990E, which was seen on the Mate 40E 5G phone. However, it is also being speculated that the Nova 9 lineup could be powered by 4G chips due to the chip shortage issue. In other words, the Nova 9 models may lack support for 5G connectivity.

Apart from the Nova 9 series, the company is also said to be working on the Huawei P50 series of smartphones. Recent reports have claimed that the P50, P50 Pro, and P50 Pro+ featuring the 5nm Kirin 9000 SoC may debut in July or August. Hopefully, newer reports will spill more information about the Nova 9 lineup and P50 series in the coming weeks.
