OnePlus is expected to unveil the OnePlus 16 powered by the next-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chip in October in China. Reports have revealed that the brand is also working on an Ace-series phone with the forthcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 onboard.

Now, a new leak by reliable tipster Digital Chat Station reveals the existence of a new OnePlus flagship equipped with last year’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip. While the tipster has not revealed the name of the device, it is being said that it could be called the OnePlus Ace 7 when it hits the market.

OnePlus Ace 7 specifications (rumored)

According to the tipster, a sub-series Pro-branded OnePlus phone will arrive with a 6.78-inch flat OLED panel offering a 1.5K resolution and an ultra-high refresh rate of 185Hz. This engineering prototype of the device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.

Last year, OnePlus unveiled the OnePlus Ace 6T and Ace 6 with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 and Snapdragon 8 Elite, respectively. Hence, the two upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 and 8 Elite Gen 5-powered OnePlus phones appear to be the OnePlus Ace 7T and Ace 7, respectively.

It appears that the top configuration of the OnePlus Ace 7 will offer 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. The leak has no information about the battery size and charging capabilities of the device. To recall, the Ace 6 packed a massive 7,800mAh battery, and it is likely that the Ace 7 may upgrade to an 8,000mAh+ battery, but it remains to be seen what further reports reveal.

While it is not mentioned in the leak, it is evident that the device will run on Android 17 with a layer of ColorOS 17 on top. DCS has also claimed that the device will have an active cooling fan, which suggests that it is a gaming-oriented offering.

Moving on to optics, the Ace 7 is said to have a 16-megapixel camera on the front, while its back panel will have a 200-megapixel + 50-megapixel dual-camera setup. The Ace 6 was announced in October alongside the OnePlus 15. Therefore, it remains to be seen whether the Ace 7 breaks cover alongside the OnePlus 16, which is expected in October.

OnePlus is working on a couple of new flagship phones for the Chinese market. Apart from the OnePlus 16, the company is also expected to introduce the Ace 7 series in China. Today, reliable tipster Digital Chat Station shared key details about what appears to be the upcoming Ace 7 lineup.

OnePlus Ace 7 key details tipped

According to the leak, engineering prototypes are currently being tested with both the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 (SM8850) and a custom variant of the same chip with the model number SM8850Q. The prototypes are said to feature a 6.78-inch 1.5K flat display with an exceptionally high 185Hz refresh rate, a massive battery of around 9,000mAh, 100W or 120W fast charging, active fan cooling, and a minimalist design. These specifications align with the Ace 7 leak the same source shared back in May, although the earlier leak did not mention the SM8850Q chip.

The tipster further claims that the Pro variant may also include a 50-megapixel 3.5x periscope telephoto camera based on Samsung’s JN5 sensor, although this specification has reportedly not been finalized. To recall, the Ace 6 lineup included three models: the OnePlus Ace 6 (Snapdragon 8 Elite), OnePlus Ace 6T (Snapdragon 8 Gen 5), and OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra (Dimensity 9500). As the previous generation did not include a Pro model, it appears that the company could be planning to launch the OnePlus Ace 7 Pro.

Last month, the same source revealed details about another upcoming Ace-series phone. Since it is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 6, it could launch as the OnePlus Ace 7T in China. A tweaked version of the device may debut globally under the OnePlus 16R branding. The Ace 7T is also expected to feature a 1.5K 185Hz LTPS OLED display, but the rest of its specifications remain under wraps.

The OnePlus Ace 7 has surfaced in the rumor mill once again, courtesy of prolific Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS), who has shared fresh details about the device.

According to DCS, a “high-performance” OnePlus device currently under evaluation is being tested with the SM8845 Pro, currently known as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 in the rumor world.

While the tipster did not explicitly name the device, it is likely to be the OnePlus Ace 7 based on the clues provided. What’s different in the latest leak is that DCS had previously claimed the Ace 7 would feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. 

OnePlus Ace 7 will have better specs than expected

Moreover, the leak also mentions a 10,000mAh-level battery, contrary to previous reports. Earlier rumors suggested that the engineering prototype housed a 9,000mAh battery with support for 100W fast charging.

One aspect that remains consistent is the display. The tipster continues to point to a 1.5K LTPS flat panel with an ultra-high 185Hz refresh rate, corroborating earlier information. The screen is said to be a 6.78-inch flat OLED panel with a 1.5K resolution, while the refresh rate could potentially reach as high as 240Hz, although 185Hz appears to be the minimum target.

The testing unit is also said to include an active cooling fan, though it remains unclear whether this feature will make it to the final retail version.

Camera details remain absent from the latest leak. However, given the Ace 6’s dual-camera setup consisting of a 50MP primary sensor and an 8MP secondary sensor, along with a 16MP front-facing camera, a similar configuration for the successor seems plausible.

OnePlus is expected to launch the Ace 7 alongside the OnePlus 16 in China, following the same dual-launch strategy it employed last year. As always, prototype specifications are subject to change before any official announcement.

The device will be equipped with a 6.78-inch flat OLED screen that offers a 1.5K resolution along with an ultra-high refresh rate, which could be as high as 240Hz, although the minimum guaranteed refresh rate is said to be 185Hz.

The OnePlus Ace 7 will reportedly house a massive 9,000mAh battery with 100W charging support. The testing unit also includes a cooling fan, but there is no clarity on whether the feature will make it to the final retail version of the phone.

The leak does not mention the camera specifications of the Ace 7, but since it is expected to be a performance-focused phone, it may not feature a versatile camera setup. The Ace 6 arrived with a 16-megapixel front camera and a 50-megapixel + 8-megapixel dual-camera system. It would not be surprising if the successor retains a similar camera setup with minor sensor improvements.

It has not been that long since the OnePlus Ace 6 launched, but early details about its successor are already starting to show up. The Ace 6, which arrived in October 2025, set a pretty high bar with features like a 165Hz display, Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, IP69K rating, and a surprisingly large 7,800mAh battery.

Now, attention is shifting to the OnePlus Ace 7. According to Weibo tipster Smart Pikachu, the phone could use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, the successor to the Snapdragon 8 Elite used in the Ace 6. It may also feature an active cooling system, which even the recently launched Ace 6 Ultra lacks. If that holds true, the Ace 7 should offer noticeably better sustained gaming performance compared to both the Ace 6 and possibly even the Ace 6 Ultra.

There is also talk of an “ultra-high refresh rate” display. No exact number yet, but expectations are clearly going up. Some recent leaks even suggest future OnePlus flagships could push toward 240Hz panels, so it will be interesting to see where the Ace 7 lands.

The Ace series has usually been about offering strong performance at a relatively aggressive price, and that does not seem to be changing. If anything, OnePlus looks like it is trying to push it a bit further this time with better cooling and possibly a faster display.

As of now, a lot of the details are still up in the air. Things like battery size, camera hardware, and final design have not really been locked in publicly. But if even half of these leaks hold up, the Ace 7 could end up being one of the more interesting performance-focused phones in its segment when it arrives.
