The company hasn’t officially announced the rollout yet, like any other Vivo device. However, some Vivo V30 users have confirmed the rollout on the official forum, as spotted by the folks at Ytechb. Currently, the update is rolling out to testers via the OriginOS 6 trial program with the firmware version PD2323JF_EX_A_16.2.6.7.W30. It will soon expand to the remaining users.

The OriginOS 6 is a pretty significant update, weighing in at about 4.5GB for the Vivo V30. It’s best to download such hefty update packages over a stable Wi-Fi connection.

If you’re rocking a Vivo V30, check if an update is available on your device via the System updates section in the Settings app. If there isn’t one, you can apply for the trial version and get it sooner. Well, this could be the last major upgrade for the Vivo V30. The device debuted in 2024 with Android 14 out of the box, and is expected to receive two OS updates at most. Vivo hasn’t officially confirmed the update policy for the Vivo V30, but since the V30 Pro promises just two OS updates, we can’t expect anything better for the regular model. Even if Android 16 is the last upgrade, security updates will keep coming in for a while.

Note that the rollout usually happens in batches, so it may take a few days to a few weeks for the update to reach all the users. Even if your device is mentioned on the list with a “released” tag but no new update shows up, don’t worry. The update may arrive anytime soon. Go to Settings > About Phone > System updates to manually check for updates.

However, if your Vivo or iQOO device is not on the rollout schedule, it will not receive the OriginOS 6 update. The Android 16-based for the Vivo T4 Pro is tagged with the firmware version PD2503KF_EX_A_16.1.7.0.W30. Being a major upgrade, it comes with a substantial download size of about 3.85GB. It’s better to use a stable Wi-Fi connection for downloading such large update packages.

As usual, the update is initially rolling out to beta testers via the trial program to ensure the final version does not contain any critical bugs. If waiting pains you more than software bugs, you can join the trial program now and get early access to the latest features and improvements. Vivo has started rolling out a new OriginOS 6 update for the X300 series globally on December 10, 2025. The update adds a few new features to the global build of OriginOS 6, bringing some elements already available in the Chinese version to international users. The update focuses on sound control, lockscreen customization, and new widgets, though not all additions feel well thought out.

The update introduces three main changes. These include Global Silent Mode improvements, Text-Style Lockscreens, and two new widgets related to gaming.

The Global Silent Mode update is the most useful change in this release. Earlier, enabling Silent Mode muted calls and notifications, but media volume stayed active. With the new update, users can now disable media volume as well when Silent Mode is turned on. This option is available in the Sound and Vibration section of the settings menu. The change makes Silent Mode more complete and avoids the need to manually lower media volume in quiet situations.

Text-Style Lockscreens have also been added to the global version of OriginOS 6. These are the same lockscreen styles that were introduced recently in the Chinese version. The feature allows users to apply different text-based designs, fonts, and decorations on the lockscreen. It does not add new functionality, but it offers more visual customization and gives users more control over how their lockscreen looks. The designs are well done and fit the overall style of the interface.

The update also brings two new widgets, and their quality is mixed. The first is the Game Space widget. This widget provides a toggle that lets users quickly access installed games. It does not show any recommendations, which keeps the interface clean and focused. This widget feels appropriate for a premium device and works as expected.

The second widget is the Game Center widget. Unlike the Game Space widget, this one pushes game recommendations directly on the home screen. This approach feels intrusive and breaks the otherwise clean user interface. For a flagship phone, forced recommendations inside a widget are hard to justify.

The Chinese smartphone maker has officially confirmed the OriginOS 6 update in India following its global announcement. We recently got a confirmation for the smartphone models that will be receiving the update, along with the rollout timeline for these devices. For example, the Vivo X200 series is set to receive the update in early November, while the older X100 series, the older foldable phone, and a few others will get the update later this month.

The update schedule continued on till 2026. But now, iQOO has confirmed that its iQOO Neo 7 and Neo 7 Pro models are also included for the OriginOS 6 update. To recall, the iQOO Neo 10, Neo 9 Pro, and Neo 10R are already set to receive this update, which is replacing the FuntouchOS platform with OriginOS. The Neo 7 and Neo 7 Pro were two models not originally included in this list and are devices that were first unveiled in 2023.

Vivo has launched OriginOS 6, based on Android 16, and it brings numerous exciting features and tons of upgrades, including a redesigned interface, cross-device integration, performance improvements, security enhancements, and new AI capabilities. Here are the top six features in OriginOS 6 that you shouldn’t miss.

1. Refreshed visuals with better user interaction

OriginOS 6 introduces “Light and Shadow Space,” a new design language that simulates natural lighting and depth that feels more intuitive to use. It uses translucent materials, realistic shadows, and subtle blur to make elements feel physically layered.

There are also Gradual Blur effects that separate elements from the background for smoother visuals. Vivo has also added AI Lighting Effects to Xiao V (Vivo’s AI assistant) interactions. The new Notification stacking feature groups notifications for easier finding and a less cluttered experience.

The interface switching is now more pleasing as the new screen gradually appears, and the blurred background makes the transition more comfortable and improves the focus. The Android 16-based update also includes numerous features like Elastic Motion and Frame Morphing to further improve animations and user interactions.

2. Lock screen is now more fun and customizable

OriginOS 6 brings some nice and useful upgrades to the lock screen, making it super fun to play with. The Mirror Screen Effects provide dynamic changes from different viewing angles, aligning with the new Light and Shadow Space visual system that simulates natural lighting and depth. Combined with the updated blur and layering on the lock screen, the result is a lock screen that’s animated and “material,” rather than flat.

The clock can now be moved anywhere on the lock screen, and the photo modules can be aligned or rearranged for a more personalized experience. OriginOS 6 also adds new clock styles and layout presets.

3. Improved performance and power efficiency

OriginOS 6 achieves 11% improved frame rate stability and 35% improved rendering efficiency by using a dual rendering architecture. One is designed for handling regular rendering scenes with medium to low loads, while the second is specifically tailored for high-load rendering tasks, such as motion effects.

Hypercore computing enables applications to launch 14% faster. It also improves page switching and content loading speed. The Photonic Storage architecture further contributes to improved performance by efficiently utilizing CPU cache, memory, and storage. It achieves a 230% improvement in scene data loading after reloading and a 15% boost in memory recycling speed.

Furthermore, Scenario Energy Efficiency 2.0 utilizes six energy efficiency algorithms to enhance performance and extend battery life. More specifically, this results in 7% improved battery efficiency during video calls, or 18% higher battery life with continuous short videos, or 14% more battery life when gaming. Gamers can now enable the Micro Power Wizard mode and plug in the power supply to instantly return to the previous task, without waiting.

OriginOS 6 also includes Global Direct Drive Power Supply 2.0 for intelligent temperature controlling  and smart charging, and System Lightweight 3.0 for up to 7% increase in standby time.

4. Shake to share in a group

Sharing photos with multiple devices is now a lot easier. Using the Shake to share feature, users only need to shake their phones face-to-face, and it will quickly create a group to share photos without consuming any internet data.

5. AI gets smarter and more useful

OriginOS 6 users can instantly remove unwanted people or objects from live photos with the help of AI. The Xiao V circle search feature can intelligently identify links, products, and addresses on the screen. Vivo phones outside China already have a Circle to Search feature from Google. So, the Xiao V circle search feature may remain limited to China.

Users can long-press the screen to add information to Xiao V Memory, which intelligently categorizes information along with schedules and addresses. The synced details can be imported into Vivo input method’s common phrases to make the keyword personalized.

OriginOS 6 enables natural language search, so that you don’t have to remember the exact name. Simply describe what you’re looking for and let the AI do the job. It works with file management, email, Atomic Notes, and many other apps.

6. Improved cross-device integration

The new Vivo Office Suite enables faster file sharing across smartphones, PCs, and web platforms. Users can send any number of files in any format, or even an entire folder. Devices must be logged into the same account to use this feature. OriginOS 6 enables iPad users to view and download audio, videos, and files from Vivo phones. The Vivo phone can also be projected to the iPad.

Vivo also makes it easier to control other devices. With OriginOS 6, users can issue commands to Lanxin Xiao V to control multiple smart home devices, including air conditioners, air purifiers, and more. The Mirror Window 2.0 enables screen mirroring, while also offering full phone capabilities to the car’s screen, such as chatting, watching TV series, navigation, and more.

For Vivo and iQOO devices outside of China, the OriginOS 6 will be a much bigger upgrade, as those devices will switch from Funtouch OS. Users will get a completely redesigned Quick Settings panel, new icons, and a host of new features. The global launch is set for October 15, where the brand will reveal all the changes, alongside the eligible devices list and rollout schedule.

Furthermore, he revealed that the OriginOS 6 beta rollout will begin on October 15 and will continue until November 6.

Please note that this timeline is applicable to India, but it won’t differ much for other regions where the beta program will be released. Based on the latest information, we can expect the stable version of OriginOS 6 to begin in early November.

Vivo has confirmed that OriginOS 6, built on Android 16, will debut globally on October 15 at the “Brave New Origin: 2025 Vivo OriginOS Global Launch Event” in Shanghai. Ahead of the international rollout, the software will first launch in China on October 10 during the Vivo Developer Conference. At present, Vivo ships its devices outside China with Funtouch OS, which provides fewer customization options compared to OriginOS, currently limited to the Chinese market.

Vivo’s Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer Shi Yujian said the new OS is designed to give users a smoother and smarter experience. This marks the first time OriginOS will be available outside China, replacing FuntouchOS on Vivo and iQOO smartphones.

OriginOS 6 brings a major design update built on Vivo’s atomic design system. It introduces a new “Comfort Engineering” philosophy for natural and intuitive use, along with the “Light and Shadow Space” concept that adds more depth and spatial order across the interface. The lock screen has been revamped with customizable clocks, a transparent color palette, and real-time rendering that simulates refraction and shadows of light. The digital clock can adjust its contrast based on lighting conditions for a layered, three-dimensional effect.
