The display specs are pretty much the same, but the Redmi phone has the advantage of better Gorilla Glass protection.

The Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G also has a higher camera resolution of 200MP (vs. 50MP on the Poco X6 Pro), while the rest of the camera specs are unchanged.

Both devices take good photos and videos. However, the Redmi phone delivers impressive details but has colour accuray sometimes. The Poco X6 Pro has a balanced camera performance, but struggles with skin tone. Both devices can record up to 4K videos at 30 FPS.

Poco X6 Pro packs a 5,000mAh battery with 67W fast charging support. According to the brand, filling up the battery only takes around 45 minutes. This phone also supports a newer Bluetooth standard (Bluetooth v5.4) and a faster UFS 4.0 storage.

3. OnePlus 11R

The OnePlus 11R ships with a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 100W fast charging to quickly refill the battery. It has a little less battery than the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G, but the charging speed is much higher.

4. iQOO Neo 7 Pro

iQOO Neo 7 Pro Price:

Poco has kicked off the new year with a bang, introducing the high-performance Poco X6 5G and Poco X6 Pro 5G in India. While I haven’t experienced the distinctive yellow color variant of a Poco phone before, I was fortunate to receive the Poco Yellow version of the X6 Pro this time. I have used the Poco X5 Pro and the Poco X3 Pro (owned it) in the past, and now here I am reviewing the Poco X6 Pro.

The Poco X6 Pro indeed excels in performance, positioning itself on par with flagship-level smartphones, particularly when you explore its impressive specs sheet. In practicality, too, the X6 Pro stands out as an almost flawless device. For those who don’t know, the X6 Pro is a tweaked version of the Redmi K70e, which is exclusively available in the Chinese market.

The Poco X6 Pro 5G is the first smartphone to come equipped with the Dimensity 8300-Ultra chipset in the global market. In addition, it is also the first phone to ship with the HyperOS onboard in the global market. To top it off, the gaming-friendly phone comes with an OLED panel with slim bezels around. Now, let’s take a closer look at the review to analyse its key features and overall performance.

Design and Display

The Poco X6 Pro 5G review unit that I have has a striking dual-tone finish. The back panel features smooth yet textured yellow vegan leather, contrasting with the sleek black camera island. Despite the textured finish, the rear shell offers a secure grip. The durable plastic camera island prominently displays the “Poco” brand with a subtle patterned backdrop, alongside “64MP OIS” on the right and three cameras with an LED flash in the remaining area. Thanks to the rectangular camera module, the phone doesn’t wobble when placed flat on a surface.

The X6 Pro’s plastic frame houses a volume rocker and a vibrant yellow power button on the right side. The left side is bare, while the top edge features a speaker, an IR blaster, and a microphone. The bottom edge houses a hybrid SIM slot, another microphone, a USB-C port, and a speaker grille. Thankfully, the X6 Pro’s IP54 dust and water resistance rating means it can survive a downpour. Measuring 8.35mm thick and weighing 190 grams, the X6 Pro feels comfortable in hand.

The Poco X6 Pro’s front is dominated by a stunning 6.67-inch OLED panel shielded by durable Gorilla Glass 5. Supporting Dolby Vision, HDR, and a peak brightness of 180 nits, the display delivers an exceptional viewing experience. The 1.5K resolution, 68 billion colors, and smooth 120Hz refresh rate further enhance visuals, whether you’re watching shows or playing games. The loudspeakers also impress with their clear and powerful sound. For even richer detail in shadows and highlights, users can activate Pro HDR within the Gallery app. 

Performance and Software

The Poco X6 Pro 5G is designed to deliver exceptional performance for a non-flagship phone, and it lives up to its promise thanks to the inclusion of the Dimensity 8300-Ultra chipset. This chipset, MediaTek’s latest offering built on a 4nm architecture, ensures reliable performance free from lags and stutters, whether you are gaming or using the phone for everyday tasks. I can say that it is the only mid-range phone available on the market with flagship-grade LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. My review unit has 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of built-in storage. The device came preinstalled with the December 2023 security update.

The Redmi K70e features a 5,500mAh battery with 90W fast charging support. The Poco X6 Pro, on the other hand, has a 5,000mAh battery with 67W fast charging. These are the only major differences between the two phones. The 67W fast charger took around 50 minutes for the phone to go from 0 to 100 percent. As far as battery life is concerned, it can easily last for 1.5 days with typical use.

I enjoyed extended gaming sessions (around an hour each) on the Poco X6 Pro, playing demanding titles like Call of Duty: Shadow Fight 4, Mortal Kombat, Genshin Impact, and Asphalt 9, all at the highest graphics settings. The device warmed slightly but remained comfortably within acceptable limits (under 45 degrees Celsius), though room for improvement in heat dissipation remains, despite the company’s touted flagship-level 5,000mm² unit. The x-axis linear motor and dual stereo speakers further accentuate the gaming experience.

Poco X6 Pro impresses in the software department as it ships with the latest Android 14, which is layered with all-new HyperOS instead of MIUI. Apart from the user experience, Poco promises decent software support, including three years of Android OS upgrades and four years of security updates.

The HyperOS experience might feel familiar to MIUI users while introducing innovative elements. Most notably, HyperOS sports a redesigned Control Center for intuitive access to settings. The lockscreen also receives welcome upgrades, showcasing diverse designs with unique clock styles and matching Always on Display options. Other noteworthy features include an enhanced multi-window interface, the all-new MiSans font, new fingerprint scanning animations, hidden apps, AI object detection, and more. However, the bloatware presence can’t be ignored. While most pre-installed apps can be uninstalled, a cleaner app drawer out of the box would’ve been ideal.

Photography and Other Features

Given the Poco X6 Pro 5G’s primary focus on performance, photography might not be its primary strength. Nevertheless, the device has a respectable primary camera equipped with an OIS-enabled 64-megapixel OV64B lens, a camera sensor found on some flagship phones as well. Accompanying this is an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 2-megapixel macro camera. For selfies, the phone is equipped with a 16-megapixel front camera. While the primary camera performs well in capturing quality shots, it’s worth noting that the performance of the other cameras may not be as outstanding. The camera app offers photography modes such as Pro, Documents, Video, Photo, Portrait, Night, 64MP mode, Panorama, Short Film, Slow Motion (up to 1080p / 960fps), Time-lapse, AI Watermark, Long Exposure, and more.

In well-lit conditions, the Poco X6 Pro stands out by delivering impressive results with vibrant color reproduction and a dynamic range that is deemed acceptable. The main camera’s 2x in-sensor zoom feature produces decent outcomes with preserved details. The device does well in subject detection and blur effects when using the Portrait mode, albeit lacking a zoom selector. In low-light situations, the camera performs adequately, although with a slight reduction in details. The night mode, while effective in reducing light glare, doesn’t bring about significant improvements in overall image quality.

The 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera occasionally deviates in color reproduction compared to the main camera, but the dynamic range remains satisfactory. In low-light conditions, it manages to deliver acceptable results. To access the macro mode, users are required to tap the small arrow in the camera app or swipe down in the viewfinder to reveal various options, including flash, aspect ratio, HDR, gridlines, AI camera, voice shutter, motion tracking focus, assist cam, teleprompter, video resolution, frame rate, Steady Video (OIS), and macro mode. The 16-megapixel front camera performs in well-lit conditions, and it offers filters and HDR support. However, I did not like the fact that it automatically beautified the selfie shots.

For video recording, the Poco X6 Pro 5G provides OIS support when shooting at 30fps in 1080p resolution. Additional video options include 720p (30fps), 1080p (30fps/60fps), and 4K (24fps/30fps) modes, with EIS support stepping in when OIS is not available. The ultra-wide camera can capture 1080p videos at 30fps. While videos recorded using the main camera are acceptable, it’s important to note that the performance tends to be less impressive in low-light conditions.

Regarding other features of the Poco X6 Pro 5G, the x-axis linear motor stands out for its strength, accuracy, and responsiveness, notably enhancing the gaming experience and overall system usage. The IR blaster and in-screen fingerprint sensor perform reliably and as expected, further contributing to the device’s overall functionality.

Verdict

The Poco X6 Pro 5G delivers top-tier performance in a non-flagship package, thanks to its powerful Dimensity 8300-Ultra chipset, LPDDR5x RAM, UFS 4.0 storage, a smooth 120Hz OLED display with an impressive screen-to-body ratio, and an appealing design. Its snappy performance, coupled with in-game vibrations and immersive audio, make it a gamer’s paradise. The primary camera shines, and the new HyperOS overlay on Android 14 adds fresh customization options along with extended software support, which is the icing on the cake. While some bloatware lingers and the auxiliary cameras could be better, these are minor gripes. For sheer performance at a wallet-friendly price, the Poco X6 Pro 5G is a compelling choice.

POCO held an event today where it announced the POCO X6 series and the POCO M6 Pro smartphones. The X6 lineup includes the standard and pro models. The Xiaomi sub-brand has been teasing some key features of the latest devices leading up to today’s launch event. The X6 and X6 Pro seem to be a rebadged version of the Redmi Note 13 Pro and Redmi K70e respectively. Both phones are quite identical to each other apart from a few differences. 

POCO X6 series specifications and features 

The POCO X6 and X6 Pro feature a flat OLED screen measuring 6.67 inches. The displays bear a resolution of 1.5K pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, and support Dolby Vision. There is an in-screen fingerprint scanner.  Both phones offer a 1,800 nits peak brightness and the display is shielded by Gorilla Glass Victus. Design-wise, there is an elongated rectangular Black colored camera island on the rear giving the phones a dual-toned look. 

On the imaging front, the POCO X6 series has a triple rear camera system. The setup comprises an OIS-enabled 64MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro unit. Up front, the devices are fitted with a 16MP selfie snapper in the centre-aligned punch-hole cutout. 

Under the hood, the POCO X6 is powered by a Dimensity 8300 Ultra chipset whereas the X6 Pro is equipped with a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC. Both phones pack up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. The standard model is backed by a 5,100mAh battery unit with support for 67W charging while the pro variant is fueled by a 5,500mAh cell with 90W charging. 

The POCO X6 Pro is the first Xiaomi phone to ship with the new HyperOS out of the box. The X6 runs on MIUI 14-based Android 14. Both phones are confirmed to get three years of OS updates and four years of security patches.

The POCO X6 starts at Rs 21,999 for the base 8GB + 256GB variant. The 12GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB option are priced at Rs 23,999 and Rs 24,999 respectively. Meanwhile, the X6 Pro carries a price tag of Rs 26,999 and Rs 28,999 for the 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB RAM and storage configurations as the standard variant.

The POCO X6 is offered in Mirror Black and Snowstorm White whereas the X6 Pro comes in Spectre Black, Racing Grey, and POCO Yellow colors. The X6 duo will go on sale from Flipkart starting January 16. ICICI Bank cardholders can avail Rs 2,000 discount.

Poco is gearing up to hold its first launch event of 2024. The brand has confirmed to debut the Poco X6 series in the next few days.

The X series is the company’s mid-range smartphone lineup. It is a step below the flagship F series and above the budget M series in the brand’s product lineup.

Over the last few days, we have been hearing a lot about these phones via leaks and official teasers. Ahead of their announcement, we have compiled everything we know about them so far.

Poco X6 Series Launch Date

The Poco X6 series is scheduled to launch on January 11. It will be unveiled at an event that will begin at 8 PM GMT+8 (5:30 PM IST).

The lineup will consist of two devices, namely Poco X6 and Poco X6 Pro. They will be accompanied by Poco M6 Pro in some markets.

Poco X6 Series Specifications

Just like most Poco devices, the latest X6 series handsets are tweaked versions of existing Redmi phones. To be precise, the X6 is a rebranded Redmi Note 13 Pro, whereas the X6 Pro is a rebadged Redmi K70e.

Both smartphones will sport a 6.67-inch flat OLED display with a resolution of 2712 x 1220 pixels (1.5K), a 120Hz refresh rate, and Dolby Vision support. 

Under the hood, the X6 will house a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC. On the other hand, the X6 Pro will be packing a MediaTek Dimensity 8300 Ultra chip.

The X6 will come with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. While the X6 Pro will feature faster LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 storage.

On the software front, the Poco X6 Pro will ship with Xiaomi’s latest HyperOS based on Android 14. But the vanilla Poco X6 will boot the older Android 13-based MIUI 14.

Both handsets will come with a similar camera system. Their setup will include an OIS-assisted 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide unit, and a 2MP macro snapper. On the front, they will be equipped with a 16MP selfie camera.

The duo will arrive with an in-screen fingerprint sensor, an IR blaster, and dual stereo speakers. 

As for the battery, the X6 will draw energy from a 5,100mAh unit and support 67W charging. Whereas, the X6 Pro will be backed by a larger 5,500mAh battery and support 90W charging.

Poco X6 Series Expected Price

Generally, Poco products are priced lower than the Redmi devices they are based on.

Since the Redmi Note 13 Pro starts at ₹25,999 in India, the Poco X6 will likely be cheaper than that. We don’t have an estimation on the global price as the said Redmi handset is yet to go official in international markets.

Similarly, we don’t know how much the Poco X6 Pro will cost. That’s because the original Redmi K70e is a China-exclusive smartphone.

Poco is all set to launch three smartphones in the mid-range and affordable segments. The new Poco X6 5G Series, consisting of Poco X6 5G, Poco X6 Pro 5G, and another Poco M6 Pro 4G, is set to launch on January 11 in India. The smartphone brings fresh options in the mid-range and affordable market segments. Following previous teasers, the Poco X6 and Poco X6 Pro 5G have been teased once again via the official x.com handle.

The new teaser confirms the presence of the 64MP triple primary sensor with OIS and also enables 2X in-sensor zoom. In a video teaser, the company also flaunts the camera module design of the Poco X6 Pro 5G, which carries triple-camera sensors along with an LED flash. The smartphone is all set to be unveiled on January 11 at around 5:30 p.m. IST.

Poco X6 Pro and Poco X6 5G Specification (Expected)

As per previous leaks and rumors, the Poco X6 Pro 5G and Poco X6 5G seem to feature the new HyperOS instead of MIUI 14. The Poco X6 Pro 5G will debut with the Mediatek Dimensity 8300 Ultra SoC. This chipset is an upper mid-range offering from MediaTek, which is capable of offering flagship-grade performance. Further, it will feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 64MP OIS-enabled primary camera, and a 5000 mAh battery with 67W fast charging. The Poco X6 Pro recently appeared on the AnTuTu benchmark, where it scored 1,464,228 points.

Meanwhile, the Poco X6 5G appears to bundle a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC, which houses a 6.67-inch AMOLED display, a 64MP + 8MP + 2MP triple camera sensor, and a 5100 mAh battery with 67W fast charging. Some renders seem to confirm the different color models.

We expect the company to tease more information in the coming few days, before its official launch.

The second week of 2024 will be as busy as the first one in terms of smartphone launches. Five brands have officially confirmed to debut new devices.

Two of these events will take place in China. They will be headed by Oppo and Honor. Both of them will unveil their latest flagship phones. Further, Motorola will launch a new budget 5G smartphone in India.

Whereas, the remaining three conferences will be held globally. Asus will take wraps off its newest gaming smartphones, while Poco will announce fresh mid-rangers. Finally, Oppo will bring its new Reno handsets to international markets.

Upcoming Smartphones Next Week

Oppo Find X7 Series

The Oppo Find X7 series is scheduled to launch in China on January 8. The conference will kickstart at 2:30 PM local time (GMT+8).

The lineup will consist of two devices, namely Oppo Find X7 and Oppo Find X7 Ultra. The vanilla model will house a MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chip, while the ultra variant will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.

The Find X7 Ultra will arrive with a 50MP Sony LYT-900 1-inch main camera, two periscope telephoto shooters, a leather finish, and satellite communication.

Asus ROG Phone 8 Series

Asus will unveil the ROG Phone 8 series at CES on January 8. At least two models are expected, namely ROG Phone 8 and ROG Phone 8 Pro. There could be an ‘Ultimate’ variant as well.

All of them will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Their high refresh rate OLED display will have minimal bezels compared to the previous iterations.

The phones will also be IP68-rated for dust and water resistance. The pro version is anticipated to feature a 50MP Sony IMX890 primary camera, a 13MP ultrawide unit, and a 32MP telephoto shooter.

Motorola Moto G34 5G

Motorola will debut the Moto G34 5G in India on January 9. As the name suggests, it is a budget 5G smartphone.

The handset offers a 6.5-inch 120Hz HD+ display (LCD), a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 chip, a 50MP main camera, a 16MP selfie camera, a 5,000mAh battery, and 18W charging support.

The device is tipped to cost ₹10,999 for 4GB RAM and 128GB storage.

Poco X6 Series and Poco M6 Pro

The Poco X6 series and Poco M6 Pro are set to go official on January 11. The X6 lineup is a tweaked version of the existing Redmi handsets, while the M6 Pro is a newer product.

The Poco X6 is a rebranded Redmi Note 13 Pro, which is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chip. On the other hand, the Poco X6 Pro houses a MediaTek Dimensity 8300 Ultra SoC as it is a rebadged Redmi K70e.

Finally, the Poco M6 Pro is a 4G-only device powered by a MediaTek Helio G99 Ultra chip. It will come with a 120Hz OLED display, a 64MP primary camera, a 5,000mAh battery, and 67W charging support.

Oppo Reno 11 Series

The Oppo Reno 11 series will make its global debut on January 11. The lineup will include two models, namely Oppo Reno 11 and Oppo Reno 11 Pro.

The Reno 11 Pro for international markets is expected to be the same as the variant sold in China. However, the vanilla Reno 11 for global markets will be different from the original model.

The international Reno 11 will arrive with a less powerful MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC and faster 80W wired charging support. However, it will retain the 32MP telephoto camera and 120Hz curved display.

Honor Magic 6 Series

Honor has scheduled conferences for January 10 and 11. The brand will be unveiling the Magic 6 series on either of these dates.

Three handsets are anticipated, such as Honor Magic 6, Honor Magic 6 Pro, and Honor Magic 6 Porsche Design. So far, the company has officially disclosed the design of the pro version.

The Magic 6 Pro will come with a quad-curved OLED display, pill-shaped cutout, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, a face authentication system, and 100W charging support.

POCO recently announced that it will be launching the POCO X6 series and the POCO M6 Pro 4G models in India soon. The launch date of these devices were officially revealed, and now, it appears that the chipsets that power these devices have also been confirmed.

POCO X6 Series & POCO M6 Pro 4G Specs

To recall, the Chinese brand is set to unveil the three smartphones in globally in India on 11th January 2024. The announcement will include the POCO X6 5G, X6 Pro 5G, and M6 Pro 4G models. The launch date was revealed via a teaser image poster, and the same has also revealed the chipset details regarding the upcoming devices. Looking at the tweet, the company confirms that the POCO X6 Pro 5G model features the MediaTek Dimensity 8300 Ultra SoC.

For those unaware, this processor is said to be on par with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, which is Qualcomm’s 2023 flagship processor. Based on what we know so far, the X6 Pro will feature up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage as well. On the other hand, the POCO X6 5G will be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC. Similar to the Pro variant, it may also offer 12GB RAM and 512GB storage on the top end model.

Lastly, the POCO M6 Pro 4G is powered by the MediaTek Helio G99 SoC, which is also expected to be paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. The smartphone has already been leaked via multiple leaks and rumors over the past some time. Most of the details are already public, and official confirmation is now required on launch day.

Poco X6 Series Specifications and Details

Poco X6 is set to launch in two models, i.e., Poco X6 and Poco X6 Pro. As per reports, both smartphones will be tweaked versions of the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G and Redmi K70e. However, there will be slight changes in the camera department of the Poco X6 5G, as it will feature a 64MP primary sensor instead of the 200MP primary sensor. Similarly, the Poco X6 Pro will feature 67W fast charging instead of the Redmi K70e 90W rapid charging.

The Poco X6 seems to feature the same Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC as present on the Redmi Note 13 Pro. Further, it will accompany LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The smartphone seems to feature a triple-rear sensor with a 64 MP primary sensor, a 13 MP ultrawide sensor, and a 2 MP additional unit.

Further, the Poco X6 Pro is expected to come with the MediaTek Dimensity 8300 Ultra SoC, up to 12GB of RAM, and 512GB of internal storage. The smartphone seems to carry a 6.67-inch AMOLED 1.5K LTPS display, which will offer a 120Hz refresh rate.

A recent Amazon listing unveils a triple rear camera module consisting of a 67MP primary sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro sensor. The smartphone will run Android 13 OS and will come with a 5000 mAh battery with 67W fast charging. The listing also reveals the price of AED 1,299, which roughly translates to USD 353.

The smartphone renders confirmed the presence of black, blue, and white color shades for the Poco X6 5G and black, gray, and yellow for the Poco X6 Pro 5G.

Now, all eyes are set for the January 11 launch in India.

Popular smartphone brand POCO is rumored to be launching its X6 series soon. This comes after several devices from the series have been spotted on certification websites.

The most recent sighting is of a POCO device with model number 23122PCD1I on the BIS certification website. The moniker name has not been revealed, but it is suspected to be the POCO X6 Pro. A similar device was also spotted on the IMEI database recently.

The BIS listing confirms that the POCO X6 Pro will be launching in India. Previous reports have suggested that the POCO X6 Pro will be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 13 Pro, which was recently launched in China.

The POCO X6 5G is also expected to be launched soon, and it is rumored to be a modified version of the Redmi Note 13 5G.

The Redmi Note 13 Pro features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, and a 200MP triple-camera system. The Redmi Note 13 5G, on the other hand, features a 6.6-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a MediaTek Dimensity 6080 processor, and a 108MP dual-camera system.

POCO has not yet announced a launch date for the X6 series, but the BIS certification listing suggests that the launch is imminent.
