Bambu Lab has introduced the H2C, a new 3D printer built for seven-color single-pass printing and advanced multi-material output. It launches in China and global markets with sales starting on November 18. The U.S. release date is still unconfirmed, and the company plans to expand availability to Latin America in December.

Pricing

Bambu Lab is selling the H2C in multiple configurations. The base H2C AMS Combo starts at 14,999 yuan in China and €2,249 in global markets. The H2C Laser Full Combo with its 10-watt module is priced at €2,799, while the top-tier 40-watt laser version comes in at €3,349. All variants support automatic material switching and purge-saving color transitions that help lower waste during multi-color prints.

Bambu Lab H2C Specifications

The H2C can print six filament colors and a seventh nozzle for support or a secondary color in a single job. Bambu Lab’s Vortek hotend change system and AMS automatic filament feed enable continuous color or material switching with minimal purge waste. According to internal benchmarks, the H2C reduces filament waste by over 50% compared to previous models while cutting print times nearly in half.

The printer supports combinations of up to seven materials within one job. It handles TPU for flexible sections, carbon and glass fiber composites for stronger parts, and engineered polymers like PA6-GF and PC-FR. These capabilities allow mixed-property models to be produced in a single continuous workflow without requiring assembly.

The extruder uses a PMSM servo motor capable of delivering up to 10 kilograms of force, which improves reliability and extrusion precision over standard stepper motors. The system reaches speeds of 1000 mm per second and accelerations of 20,000 mm per second squared. Its vision encoder keeps motion deviation below 50 micrometers, while eddy current sensors automatically tune pressure advance for consistent flow.

The H2C includes 59 internal sensors and a quad-camera monitoring system. Its macro nozzle camera identifies extrusion problems in real time, while the pre-flight inspection routine checks bed cleanliness and overall setup before each print. The unit uses a 5-inch touchscreen for on-device control and supports both desktop and mobile app management.

The printer supports nozzle temperatures up to 350 °C and relies on a 65 °C actively heated chamber to process high-temperature materials. Its three-stage filtration system manages particles and odors produced by engineering-grade filaments.

The H2C runs entirely offline when needed, includes MQTT access for developers, and delivers multiple camera angles for remote monitoring. It also offers a 325×320×325 mm build volume and comes with a textured PEI plate.

Epson has announced seven new EcoTank printers across three series, launching this September. The ET-2950, ET-3950, and ET-4950 series replace the ET-2850, ET-3850, and ET-4850 models, with a redesign focused on productivity, ease of use, and cost savings.

The ET-2950/51/56 is designed for families that need reliable, low-cost printing and includes automatic double-sided printing. The ET-3950/56 and ET-4950/56 are aimed at home and small office users, offering faster speeds, larger paper capacity, and touchscreen controls on the ET-4950.

Epson says the new EcoTank printers can cut printing costs by up to 95 percent compared to cartridge printers. One set of ink bottles delivers the same output as 63 cartridges. All models come with up to three years of ink. The ET-2950 series prints 6,600 pages in black and 5,500 in color, while the ET-3950 and ET-4950 reach 15,100 black pages with an extra black bottle included. A replacement set yields 8,500 black and 6,500 color pages. The ET-2950 is rated for 50,000 pages over its lifetime, while the ET-3950 and ET-4950 can reach 100,000 pages.

Print speeds are 15ppm in black and 8ppm in color for the ET-2950 series. The ET-3950 and ET-4950 increase speeds to 18ppm in black and 9ppm in color. All models include a 30-sheet duplex ADF for double-sided scanning and copying. Other features include front-facing refillable tanks with key-lock bottles, dual-band Wi-Fi, and an auto-opening output tray. Displays range from a 3.7cm LCD on the ET-2950, a 6.1cm LCD on the ET-3950, and a touchscreen on the ET-4950. The Epson Smart Panel app allows setup, troubleshooting, and mobile printing.

HP is facing backlash from customers once again for blocking the use of third-party ink in some of its printers. The move comes after a recent firmware update that expands HP’s “dynamic security” policy, which aims to protect the quality of HP’s printing systems and intellectual property. The policy prohibits the use of ink or toner cartridges that do not contain new or reused HP chips.

Numerous reports on social media platforms and the HP community forum suggest that some printers are now blocking the use of non-HP ink altogether, rather than simply displaying a bypassable warning message. The move has sparked outrage among HP printer users, who accuse the company of trying to lock them into its ecosystem and limit their options for affordable ink.

This is not the first time that HP has faced criticism over its dynamic security policy. In 2020, the company reached a $1.5 million settlement with US customers in a class-action lawsuit that claimed HP’s firmware acted as “malware” by diminishing the capabilities of HP printers and rendering third-party cartridges incompatible. HP also paid out millions to customers in the European Union and Australia affected by dynamic security.

While HP issued an optional update in 2016 that removes dynamic security, the change only applies to a set of specific models, some of which were required to be made before December 1st, 2016. It remains unclear which printers currently have dynamic security installed, but several models, including the OfficeJet Pro 6970, OfficeJet Pro 6968, OfficeJet 6950, and OfficeJet 7740, are reportedly affected.

The move is seen as a desperate attempt to maintain revenue in the face of declining net printing revenue, and it could prompt some users to switch to other printer brands that offer more flexibility in ink options.

A few days ago, Huawei announced its first color inkjet printer in its PixLab lineup, dubbed Huawei PixLab V1 in its home country China. Today, the device is officially available for purchase in the Chinese market.

The newly launched Huawei PixLab V1, powered by the company’s own HarmonyOS 3.0 operating system, is priced at 1,399 yuan, which roughly converts to $207 while the ink for the printer starts at 39 yuan (~$6).

The Huawei PixLab V1 is an inkjet color printer that comes with support for 3D Lut color tuning, color temperature follow-up, and aperture grading. It also supports AI handwriting erasing functionality to automatically erase handwriting before printing a blank new roll.

It can fully restore the original color of a picture during color printing, and it also features the Hyper Terminal technology, which allows for seamless printing from a mobile phone. A connection is achieved between the phone and the printer by moving the phone closer to the printer, and then the printing tasks can be accomplished from the phone.

The printer is powered by 512MB of RAM and packs 8GB of internal storage. It has three-in-one functionality — Printing, Scanning, and Copying. It is claimed by the company to print 7,500 pages of black and white documents or 4,000 pages of color documents.

As the name itself indicates, it is an inkjet printer and apart from printing, it also comes with support for copying and scanning. There is also support for different types of connections for using the printer.

The company has revealed that the Xiaomi Mijia Inkjet All-In-One Printer supports printing files directly through the USB connection. It also supports WeChat remote printing and its own Xiaomi Carefree Connect.

The printer can be connected to every member of the household by just one person through direct sharing permission granted in the Mijia App between family members.

It comes with high-quality four-color dye ink which the company claims provides real-like printing through the unique special ink bottle. It is also claimed to yield around 9,500 pages of color printing before replacing the cartridge.

For the easy replacement of the cartridge from the printer, the company has adopted a unique pressure-based interlock structure and the ink filling mechanism has been made to make it convenient to change ink without hassle.

The device supports copying and scanning in both modes — color and back and white for more accuracy of handwriting. Also, the scanned files can also be saved and archived to the smartphone using an application.

As for the enhancements in the device, it comes with an anti-backward and anti-backflow design. It can also adaptively activate the intelligent cleaning system based on the local climate conditions, without manual operation.

Huawei, the China-based technology giant which has been struggling to retain its position in the market, is set to announce something exciting tomorrow. The company has officially shared a new teaser poster hinting at the arrival of new products as well as a new exclusive partner, details about which will be revealed on 31st August.

While the company has not yet revealed what these upcoming products are, the teaser poster gives us a glimpse at the part of the product which seems to be a printer or a router, but this is just speculation.

Huawei already has a best-selling lineup of routers and was also leading the market in the year 2019. Earlier this year, the company started selling Huawei Router AX2 Pro in China. If it is indeed planning to launch a new router, then the partnership with another company means it could be a high-end product.

Also, the partner for these new products has not been revealed by the company nor the details have leaked. This means that to know with which company Huawei is partnered up with for its new products and what the partnership entails, we will have to wait for the official announcement tomorrow.

Previously, the company had partnered with Leica for camera technology on its premium smartphone. Since 2016, all the flagship smartphones from the Chinese giant featured Leica’s technology, pushing the boundaries of smartphone photography. This niche product comes from California-based Selpic which had previously launched Selpic S1 and S1+ portable printers. The new product from the company — Selpic P1 can handle all the printing needs, claims the brand.

The printer uses inkjet technology and can be operated just like a pen. It allows users to print photos, text, barcodes, QR codes, among others on almost any porous surface, including paper, textiles, leather, wood, and also curved or uneven surfaces.

It supports printing in the horizontal and vertical orientation and can also switch direction from left to right or right to left. It has a built-in line break function that has the ability to print either a single-line or across multiple lines.

The Selpic P1 has built-in 600 x 600 DPI support and comes with 300 nozzles with a spacing of 0.002 inches. The company says that each nozzle can eject 18 million drops per second, producing incredible quality and detail.

Xiaomi has today announced its new Mi Inkjet All-In-One Wireless Printer in the Chinese market. The device, which is priced at 499 yuan (approximately $70) is currently up for pre-order with a deposit of 50 yuan (~$7) and will go on sale from 11th June.

This new wireless inkjet printer from Xiaomi comes with three modes of operation — printing, copying, and scanning. Although one of the features of the printer is wireless connectivity, it still has supports for wired USB connection.

The company says that this new printer uses high-quality imported ink which has no odor. As per the brand, the standard full-capacity ink cartridge can be used to print around 480 pages in back and white and about 150 color pages.

Further, Xiaomi adds that it also supports copying and scanning in both modes — color and back and white for more accuracy of handwriting. Also, the scanned files can also be saved and archived to the smartphone using an application.

It also comes with support for mobile printing for both the platforms — Android and iOS. As for the pricing of the replacement cartridge, the company says that both — black and white and color cartridges are priced at 69 yuan each which is about $9.6.

Xiaomi is already selling three printers in its home market — Pocket Printer, Photo Printer, and an Inkjet Printer. This new product marks the fourth printer from Xiaomi in China but the product category is yet to make its debut in other regions.

Xiaomi is more than just a smartphone brand has is now making all sorts of lifestyle products. Expanding its portfolio of offerings, the company has today announced that it will launch Xiaomi Mijia Photo Printer on 19th December in China.

In the image released by the company, we can see that the small-sized printer features the same form-factor as the regular printers. However, just like other consumer electronics products from Xioami, this one too features a minimal design.

On the top part, it comes with just a single button for turning the printer ON/OFF. There’s also an indicator that shows the Wi-Fi connectivity of the printer. On the right side, there’s a cartridge compartment.

While nothing more related to the upcoming Xiaomi Mijia Photo Printer in known, it seems that the printer will support printing photos of up to 6-inch. The IoT-powered printer’s built-in printing mode is expected to include ID Card, Polaroid Mode, Postcard Mode, among others.

This won’t be the first printer from Xioami as the Chinese company had launched the Xiaomi XPRINT Pocket AR Photo Printer earlier this year in February. Priced at 399 Yuan (approximately $58), it prints 54 x 86 mm photos with a 291 x 294 resolution.

Similar printers are priced between 700 Yuan (~$102) and 1,000 Yuan (~$145) in the Chinese market but given that the upcoming printer is coming from Xioami, we are expecting a more affordable pricing, something around 500 Yuan (approximately $73). However, to know for sure what the company offers with this Xiaomi Mijia Photo Printer and its pricing, we’ll have to wait for the official announcement at 02:30 PM in China on 19th December.

When it comes to purchasing a printer, most people look towards brands like Canon, Epson, HP, Xerox, or Lexmark. That may be changing soon as news has it that Xiaomi and Huawei will be entering the printer market this summer.

The news comes from @MochaRQ, an insider in the Chinese tech industry. In a Weibo post, he revealed that both Chinese manufacturers will launch home printers during the summer holidays.

He adds that, for both brands to grab a share of the printer market, their printers must be feature packed and priced aggressively. The latter condition isn’t an issue for Xiaomi. A large number of its products sell for less than that of rivals while offering the same or even more features.

Already, Xiaomi and Huawei have entered into the PC market, so it doesn’t come as much of a surprise that they want to add printers to their product lines.
