Chinese handset maker realme has been releasing Android 11-based realme UI 2.0 builds for eligible devices since September 2020. However, the brand has only updated a handful of phones to the stable version worldwide. Now, months later, the company’s popular realme 6 Pro and realme 7 Pro have started receiving the Android 11 stable update.

Both the realme 6 Pro and the realme 7 Pro debuted with realme UI based on Android 10. Though they were launched months apart from each other, they are getting the stable Android 11-based realme UI 2.0 update at the same time.

The latest system update for these phones arrives with the following firmware versions.

• realme 6 Pro – RMX2061_11.C.15
• realme 7 Pro – RMX2170_11.C.20

In order to receive the new update, users need to be on firmware version RMX2061_11.A.49 (realme 6 Pro) and RMX2170PU_11.A.37 (realme 7 Pro).

Anyway, like any other major system update, this one is also being rolled out in stages. Therefore, it may take some time to reach every unit.  Also, it is worth noting that this update has been also released for users running the Open Beta build.

That said, users who don’t like the realme UI 2.0 update or facing any issues can roll back to Android 10 (realme UI). But that process will wipe the internal storage.

Chinese smartphone maker realme unveiled realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11 in September. The announcement for the same came soon after the ColorOS 11 launch event. Because despite separating from OPPO, realme’s software is still based on ColorOS. So far, the brand has delivered the stable update to a single handset – realme X50 Pro, whereas builds for two devices are in the beta testing phase. Now, the company has started recruiting testers for four new phones.

A few days after announcing realme UI 2.0, the brand also revealed the ‘Early Access’ roadmap for all the eligible devices. Following the same, the company has been releasing builds.

Hence, as December 2020 is about to end, the firm has started recruiting realme UI 2.0 Early Acess testers for the following smartphones.

• realme 7
• realme 6 Pro
• realme narzo 20 Pro
• realme X2 Pro

Just like with the previous three handsets, the seats for the next four devices are also limited. Therefore, if you are interested in trying out the latest software, then head over to Settings > Software Update > Gear Icon > Trial Version > Submit Details > Apply Now. 

If you get selected, you will be receiving the realme UI 2.0 (Android 11) beta build via OTA. That said, for some reason, you want to rollback to realme UI (Android 10), make sure to backup your data first as this process will wipe your internal storage.

Anyway, even if you don’t join this program now, you will be receiving the stable update in the coming weeks when it is ready.

If we only consider this trio, the Motorola One Fusion+ has the most interesting design because it sports a full-screen display. There is no notch and there are no holes in the display, because the phone features a motorized pop-up front camera. But I personally prefer the Realme 6 Pro for two reasons: first, it comes with a glass back, so more premium materials. Further, it has a more attractive galass back with its gradient colors. Its fingerprint reader is placed on the side, embedded in the power key, while on the Motorola One Fusion+ and the Samsung Galaxy M31 Prime you get a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Display

Samsung has a big advantage on its side: it produces OLED panels. This means that it can use them for its devices with low costs. That is why you can find several OLED displays on Samsung affordable phones, including the Galaxy M31 Prime. The M31 Prime wins the display comparison because it is the only one with an AMOLED panel in this comparison, and it provides more brilliant colors. Further, it has an in-display fingerprint reader. The Realme 6 Pro has an IPS display, but it features a 90 Hz refresh rate. Unfortunately, the Motorola One Fusion+ has a standard refresh rate for its IPS panel, but it supports the HDR10 certification.

Specs & Software

If you need the best hardware department, then you should opt for the Realme 6 Pro. It packs a strong Snapdragon 720G chipset paired with up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of internal storage depending on the configuration. The Motorola One Fusion+ is fueled either by a Snapdragon 730 or 730G depending on the version, so the chipset is more or less at the same level, but it packs just 6 GB of RAM. The SoC found on the Samsung Galaxy M31 is inferior to Snapdragon 720G and 730, so it loses the hardware comparison. On all of these phones, you can find Android 10 out of the box with a customized UI.

Camera

Realme 6 Pro is the winner even when it comes to the camera department. While it features the same 64 MP main camera as its rivals, it offers an additional telephoto sensor with 2x optical zoom, unlike Motorola One Fusion+ and Samsung Galaxy M31 Prime. Even the front camera setup is great: it is one of the few phones to feature a dual ultrawide front camera: it includes a main 16 MP selfie snapper and an 8 MP ultrawide sensor like the one included on the rear side. The silver medal goes to the Samsung Galaxy M31 Prime featuring a better 5 MP depth sensor and an awesome 32 MP front camera.

Battery

Samsung Galaxy M31 Prime is equipped with a bigger 6000 mAh and together with its efficient AMOLED display it lasts a lot more on a single charge. The Motorola One Fusion+ takes the second place with its 5000 mAh unit, while Realme 6 Pro has the smallest battery and the shortest battery life, but on the other hand it features a faster charging technology with a 30W power.

Price

Samsung Galaxy M31 Prime is priced Rs. 16,499 ($223) in India, Realme 6 Pro costs Rs. 19,999 ($270), and Motorola One Fusion+ is priced about Rs. 17,499 ($237). If it was not for the AMOLED display, my choice would definitely be the Realme 6 Pro due to its great hardware, cameras, fast charging and 90 Hz. But the Samsung Galaxy M31 Prime has a better display and bigger battery, so it is as interesting as the Realme option. The Motorola One Fusion+ sits in the middle with a bigger battery than Realme 6 Pro, but a 60 Hz IPS display and inferior cameras. Which one would you pick?

Last week, Realme released new software updates for the Realme 6 and 6i. The updates made available the Smooth Scrolling feature to both smartphones. The tech giant has now released a similar update for the premium Realme 6 Pro. Apart from the Smooth Scrolling feature, the phone also gets the Super Power Saving Mode which was first introduced with the Realme C12 and Realme C15.

The new update, sporting version number RMX2061_11.A.31, is rolling out over the air in India to a limited number of users, and a broader rollout will commence in a few days if no major bugs are found.

Additionally, the new build comes with the Super Nighttime Standby feature and bumps up the Android security patch level from July 2020 to August 2020. You can find the complete changelog below:

Realme 6 Pro specifications

The Realme 6 Pro has a 6.6-inch IPS LCD panel that offers Full HD+ resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio, and 90Hz refresh rate. The pill-shaped cutout on the screen has a 16-megapixel main camera and an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens.

The backside of the device has a quad camera system. It includes a Samsung GW1 64-megapixel main camera, a 118-degree 8-megapixel ultrawide snapper, a 12-megapixel telephoto sensor with up to 2x zoom, and a 2-megapixel macro lens with 4cm focal length. The Samsung Galaxy M31s provides a higher image quality with its Super AMOLED display and it wins the display comparison. Both Realme 6 Pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro feature an IPS display, which is not a trend, unlike the AMOLED panels providing more brilliant colors and deeper blacks. The Realme 6 Pro still offers an interesting feature: the 90 Hz refresh rate. But most people prefer having an AMOLED display with a standard refresh rate rather than an IPS panel with a higher refresh rate. What would your choice be?

Samsung Galaxy M31s is powered by the Exynos 9611 chipset, which is the lowest-end SoC of the trio. Samsung Galaxy M31s is priced €230/$270 in its base variant, you need €159/$187 for the Redmi Note 9 Pro, and Realme 6 Pro costs about €215/$253. The most balanced device of this comparison is the Realme 6 Pro with its 90 Hz display, great hardware, and very nice cameras, but it has the smallest battery. With the Samsung Galaxy M31s you get a better display and a way longer battery life. Redmi Note 9 Pro is inferior to the Realme 6 Pro, if we exclude the battery life. But it provides a better hardware department than Samsung Galaxy M31s and it is way more affordable.

Xiaomi launched another mid-ranger in the Indian market. It came under the POCO brand and its name is POCO M2 Pro. It is the first POCO mid-ranger after the POCO X2. The handset comes with very similar specifications to the Indian version of the Redmi Note 9 Pro, but it is not exactly the same device and it has slight differences compared to its older sibling. Are its specifications enough to make it a best-selling device of 2020 or there is something better in the market? In order to establish this, we decided to compare it with two of the best value for money released recently: Motorola One Fusion+ and Realme 6 Pro.

Xiaomi POCO M2 Pro vs Motorola One Fusion+ vs Realme 6 Pro

Design

Before talking about the look of these handsets, I think it is worth talking about their materials. While POCO M2 Pro and Realme 6 Pro are equipped with a glass back, the Motorola One Fusion+ has a full plastic design. That is why we would not recommend the Motorola One Fusion+ if we had to choose the most beautiful handset. The Realme 6 Pro has a dual punch-hole instead of a single punch-hole like the POCO M2 Pro, but we recommend it because it has a very attractive design and it is more compact than the POCO M2 Pro. On the other hand, POCO M2 Pro has the P2i certification against water (unlike the Realme 6 Pro).

Display

With the POCO M2 Pro and the Motorola One Fusion+ you get an HDR10 display with great image quality, but still an average IPS panel. With the Realme 6 Pro, you do not get HDR, but it sports a 90 Hz refresh rate. And we believe having 90 Hz on an IPS display of an affordable phone is way more advantageous than having just HDR. I would personally go for the Realme 6 Pro in order to have a smoother viewing experience with my phone.

Specs & Software

If you grab a unit of the POCO M2 Pro or the Realme 6 Pro, you get an octa-core Snapdragon 720G, while if you go for the Motorola One Fusion+, you can get a Snapdragon 730G. Despite the Snapdragon 720G is a newer chipset, the Snapdragon 730G is actually slightly more powerful. However, we still think it is the case to give the award to the Realme 6 Pro because it has a configuration with more RAM than Motorola One Fusion+ (8 GB vs 6 GB), as well as a dedicated micro SD slot. In each case, you get Android 10 out of the box, but Motorola One Fusion+ offers a nearly-stock Android experience, while Realme 6 Pro and POCO M2 Pro are highly customized.

Camera

On the camera side, Realme 6 Pro takes the crown, at least on the paper. The Realme 6 Pro is the only one with a telephoto lens and a 2x optical zoom. The main sensor of its quad camera is the same as the Motorola One Fusion+, but the latter lacks a telephoto sensor: instead of it, it packs a classic depth sensor. Realme 6 Pro also packs a more interesting front camera department composed of an ultrawide dual front camera. Motorola One Fusion+ comes right after the Realme 6 Pro, while POCO M2 Pro is the loser here.

Battery

When it comes to battery life, it is a hard fight between POCO M2 Pro and Motorola One Fusion+. They have the same battery capacity and similar components; it is still too early to give a verdict as the POCO M2 Pro has just been announced and only thorough tests will give us the answer.

Price

POCO M2 Pro has an Rs. 13,999 starting price in India, the Motorola One Fusion+ is priced Rs. 16,999, and Realme 6 Pro costs Rs. 18,999. The winner of this comparison is the Realme 6 Pro with its 90 Hz display and better cameras, but only if you do not care about having the longest battery life. Otherwise, Motorola One Fusion+ looks better.

It is kinda evident that Lenovo is putting a lot of effort into this brand by releasing fewer devices through its own brand and giving the priority to Motorola. If you look at the above images, you will notice that Motorola One Fusion+ sports a full screen display with no notch or holes, while POCO X2 and Realme 6 Pro have a dual punch-hole. That is why Motorola One Fusion+ has a motorized pop-up front camera. But the One Fusion+ is like a dual-sided medal: it offers a holeless display, but it is not made of premium materials. Instead, it has a plastic body like the ones you can find on entry-level phones. Instead, the POCO X2 offers a glass back and an aluminum frame just like premium flagships. That is why POCO X2 would be my choice. Realme 6 Pro sits in the middle with a glass back and a plastic frame. Motorola One Fusion+, POCO X2, and Realme 6 Pro are all splash resistant phones.

Display

OLED displays are trending, but you do not get any with this trio of devices. They all feature an IPS panels, but POCO X2 remains very interesting since it offers a high 120 Hz refresh rate and the HDR10 certification for better image quality, besides a wider display diagonal. Right after in the display ranking we got the Realme 6 Pro with a 90 Hz refresh rate, while Motorola One Fusion+ sports an unsurprising IPS panel with a standard refresh rate and no other interesting technologies.

Specs & Software

You can get slightly better performances with the POCO X2 since it features a slightly more powerful chipset: the Snapdragon 730G is older than the Snapdragon 720G found on the Realme 6 Pro, but it offers amazing CPU and GPU performance. But if you go for the Realme 6 Pro, you won’t lose so much. In both cases, you get up to 8 GB of RAM and UFS 2.1 internal storage. Motorola One Fusion+ comes with the vanilla Snapdragon 730 (it is basically a 730G with an inferior GPU) and just 6 GB of RAM.

Camera

The most convincing camera department belongs to the Realme 6 Pro: the only one to offer a telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom. It has a quad camera with a 64 MP main sensor, a 12 MP telephoto lens, an 8 MP ultrawide sensor and a 2 MP macro camera. Further, it is the only one with an ultrawide dual front camera (the POCO X2 has a secondary depth sensor instead of an ultrawide lens).

Battery

Motorola One Fusion+ is the king of battery life not only because of its higher battery capacity (whopping 5000 mAh) but also because it has a more efficient display with a standard refresh rate. Realme 6 Pro has the smallest battery but still more than sufficient, and it features the fastest charging technology with a 30W power.

Price

Motorola One Fusion+ is priced Rs. 16,999 (roughly $223) in India (6/128 GB), POCO X2 costs Rs. 15,999 or $210 (6/64 GB), and Realme 6 Pro is actually priced Rs. 17,999 ($236) in its base variant (6/64 GB). With those prices, POCO X2 looks like the most interesting device of this trio due to its premium design, better display, great hardware, and pretty nice battery. Speculations ran high recently over the iimpending launch of three new Realme smartphones for European markets. The models touted were the Realme X50 Pro 5G, 6 Pro and Realme 5i. Well, two of the models have now been launched in Italy, signalling their debut in Europe. As for the prices, the Realme X50 Pro 5G will be offered in Rust Red and Moss Green colours at a base price of €599.90 for the 8GB+128 GB variant while the price will jerk up to €669.90 for the 8GB+256GB version. The topmost variant with 12GB RAM and 256 GB storage will cost €749.90.

On the other hand, the Realme 6 Pro is already available to buy on Realme’s official website but will start selling on Amazon Italia from May 18. It is currently in pre-order. As for the price, the Realme 6 Pro with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory is priced at €349.90. There are a few perks available on Amazon and on the official website.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max is priced at INR 14,999 (~$193) for the 6+64GB version, INR 17,999 (~$237) for the 6+128GB version, and INR 19,999 (~$263) for the 8+128GB version.

Looking at the specs, the phone is an easy sell. For $200, you get a device that has 64MP quad rear cameras, 33W fast charging that is faster than even that of the Mi 10 flagship, and a pretty big 5020mAh battery.

However, the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max has got some close competitors that may sway buyers to their side with what they have to offer. Two of such devices are the Realme 6 Pro and the POCO X2 which have a better display and better cameras but for a slightly higher starting price tag.

Not the best display in its class

If your budget is INR 20,999 and you want a phone with a high refresh rate, then the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max isn’t the device you should be looking at.

The Realme 6 Pro has a 90Hz refresh rate while the POCO X2 packs a 120Hz refresh rate. A higher refresh rate means a better user experience when it comes to games and general usage.

These two phones also have brighter screens than the Redmi Note 9 Pro. The Realme 6 Pro has a peak brightness of 480 while the POCO X2 has a peak brightness of 500. The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max’s brightness peaks at 450 nits.

Doesn’t take the best photos

While all three phones have 64MP primary rear cameras, they are not the same. The POCO X2 uses the Sony IMX686 sensor while the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Realme 6 Pro both feature the inferior Samsung GW1. So when it comes to clicking shots, the POCO X2 comes out on top.

The Realme 6 may have the same primary camera as the Redmi Note 9 Pro but one of its other rear cameras is better than that of the Redmi Note 9 Pro and even POCO X2.

Rather than the 2MP depth camera on the Redmi and POCO, the Realme 6 Pro has a 12MP telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom. So you not only take better photos of distant objects with the Realme 6 Pro, but you also take better portrait photos.

The Realme 6 Pro and POCO X2 also have the upper hand when it comes to taking selfies as they both feature dual cameras in front unlike the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max that has just 1.

While none of their primary selfie cameras is as high as that of the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max, the Realme 6 Pro’ second selfie camera has an ultrawide angle lens so you can fit more friends or that awesome background in your selfies. The POCO X2’s second selfie camera is a depth sensor for better portrait selfies.

To get these features, you have to pay more. The POCO X2 is currently priced at INR 16,999 (~$224) for the 6+64GB version, INR17,999 (~$237) for the 6+128GB version, and INR 20,999 (~$276) for the 8+256GB version.

The Realme 6 Pro is INR17,999 (~$237) for its 6+64GB version, INR18,999 (~$250) for the 6+128GB version, and INR 19,999 (~$263) for the 8+128GB version.

Conclusion

If you do not care for a higher refresh rate and you are fine with having a single front-facing camera, and acceptable rear cameras, then the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max is the device to get.

You can’t go wrong with the big battery and the 33W fast charging support. The Snapdragon 720G that powers it is also more powerful than the Snapdragon 730G inside the POCO X2.

However, if you want to pick an alternative, the POCO X2 will be the one we will recommend for its higher refresh rate, better primary rear camera, and price tag which is lower than that of the Realme 6 Pro. To be honest, if you are not purchasing the base model of the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max, the POCO X2 is the one you should buy as the 6+128GB version sells for the same price as that of the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max.

But despite that, Oppo Reno3 5G remains my favorite device in terms of aesthetics. It is the most compact device of the trio and even the thinnest one. Further, it has an aluminum frame and a glass back, unlike the Realme 6 Pro which comes with a plastic frame and a glass back. The Oppo Reno3 5G also comes with a more minimalistic rear side than Redmi K30 5G Racing Edition.

Display

Do you prefer an AMOLED display with a standard refresh rate or an IPS panel with a high refresh rate? If your answer is AMOLED display, go for the Oppo Reno3 offering more vivid colors, deeper blacks, and an in-display fingerprint reader. If you prefer having a high refresh rate because you want the smoothest viewing experience, choose the Redmi K30 5G Racing Edition which also offers the HDR10 certification. The Redmi K30 5G Racing Edition also comes with a wider diagonal. Realme 6 Pro has a 90 Hz IPS display.

Hardware/Software

The strongest hardware department belongs to the Oppo Reno3. It is equipped with a Dimensity 1000L (including 5G support, but no mmWave) and up to 12 gigs of RAM. Right after, we got the Redmi K30 5G Racing Edition with the new Snapdragon 768G mobile platform and 6 GB of RAM. Realme 6 Pro takes the third place, but it is still a very performing handset with its Snapdragon 720G SoC and up to 8 gigs of RAM. Android 10 is installed out of the box on all of these devices. Note that Redmi K30 and Oppo Reno3 support 5G, while Realme 6 Pro does not.

Camera

The most impressive cameras belong to the Oppo Reno3: the only handset to support OIS. The device also sports an awesome 32 MP front camera. The silver medal goes to the Realme 6 Pro which is also the only device of this trio to come with a telephoto lens and 2x optical zoom. Further, it is the only with an ultrawide dual front camera. If you are looking for the greatest camera phone, simply do not choose the Redmi K30 5G Racing Edition.

Battery

Redmi K30 5G Racing Edition sports the biggest battery, but 5G is very energy-demanding. With its 4300 mAh battery, Realme 6 Pro should last more on a single charge because it does not support 5G. Oppo Reno3 has 5G and the smallest battery, but we believe it will still be satisfying. In each case, you get 30W fast charging with blazing charging speeds.

Price

Redmi K30 5G Racing Edition is priced €260/$280, Oppo Reno3 starts from €440/$475, and Realme 6 Pro is priced €200/$216 in its base variant. Overall, Redmi K30 5G Racing offers a more interesting display, Oppo Reno3 is the only with an AMOLED panel and it has a better camera, while Realme 6 is inferior to both but offers a higher value for money. Realme 6 Pro and Honor 9X Pro are more or less at the same level when it comes to battery life. Despite Honor 9X Pro comes with lower battery capacity, it has more efficient components than Realme 6 Pro; indeed, its SoC is built at 7 nm and its display has a standard refresh rate.

Price

We still do not know how much Redmi Note 9 Pro will cost globally, but we know that Redmi Note 9S begins at €229/$247. You can actually find the Honor 9X Pro for €249/$269 (6/256 GB), while Realme 6 Pro costs €349/$377 in its 8/128 GB configuration. While Note 9 Pro (probably) and Honor 9X Pro have a definitely higher value for money, Realme 6 Pro is the most advanced device of this comparison thanks to its better camera department and display. Almost a month after the Realme 6i and Realme 6 went on sale in Europe, their more powerful sibling, the Realme 6 Pro, has now landed in the Old Continent.

The Realme 6 Pro is priced at €349, has 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and is available in Lightning Blue and Lightning Red. The pre-order page says orders will include a pair of Realme Buds 2 earphones. Realme says it is shipping only to Belgium, France, Luxembourg, Netherlands, and Portugal.

The phone has a 6.6-inch FHD+ display with a dual punch-hole, a 90Hz refresh rate, and Gorilla Glass 5. There is a Snapdragon 720G processor under the hood that draws power from a 4300mAh battery with support for 30W wired charging.

The Realme 6 Pro has a 64MP + 8MP + 12MP + 2MP quad-camera setup on its back while the front is home to a 16MP + 8MP dual camera combo. It has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, NFC, Bluetooth 5.1, an audio jack, Dolby Atmos, and a triple card tray for two SIM cards and a MicroSD card.

Among the most interesting potential best-sellers, we got Redmi Note 9S, Poco X2, and Realme 6 Pro. All of them are actually available to purchase with very interesting price tags and advanced specifications, but which one deserves your money? Design

The most premium design is offered by the Poco X2. The Indian rebrand of the Redmi K30 4G is the only phone in this trio sporting an aluminum frame paired with a glass back. Realme 6 Pro is slightly more compact, but it has a plastic frame instead of an aluminum one, just like the Redmi Note 9S. In each case, you get protection against water (they are splash resistant), but they are not waterproof. Both the front glass and the glass back are protected by Gorilla Glass 5.

Display

Poco X2 is one of the few and most affordable smartphones with a display supporting a 120 Hz refresh rate and it wins the display comparison. All of these devices come with a Full HD+ IPS panel and a high refresh rate makes the difference with such displays. Further, Poco X2 supports HDR10, while its rivals do not. Righ after, we got the Realme 6 Pro with a still high 90 Hz refresh rate (unlike the Redmi Note 9S).

Specs & Software

With the Poco X2, you get a better processor, so also better performance. The Snapdragon 730G is obviously superior to the Snapdragon 720G, despite the latter is a more recent chipset. It has higher CPU and GPU performance, but the same efficiency. In its high-end memory configuration, Poco X2 also offers more internal storage: up to 256 GB. Redmi Note 9S and Realme 6 Pro have the same chipset, but Realme 6 Pro offers up to 8 GB of RAM while Redmi Note 9S stops at 6 GB. That is the reason why Realme 6 Pro takes the silver medal in the hardware comparison. Redmi Note 9S and Poco X2 run Android 10 customized by MIUI 11, while Realme 6 Pro has the Realme UI, still based on Android 10, out of the box.

Camera

The camera award goes to the Realme 6 Pro. What makes the difference on the rear side is its 12 MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom. Instead of a telephoto lens, Redmi Note 9S and Poco X2 come with a pretty standard 2 MP depth sensor. Further, Realme 6 Pro is the only which offers an ultrawide dual front camera. The second place in the camera ranking goes to the Poco X2 coming with a 64 MP quad camera on the rear side and a dual camera on the front side including a depth sensor. Redmi Note 9S is inferior to both with its 48 MP quad camera and a single 16 MP selfie snapper.

Battery

Finally a moment of glory even for the Redmi Note 9S: thanks to its huge 5020 mAh battery, it is the king of battery life. Realme 6 Pro and Poco X2 are more or less at the same level even though their battery capacities are not the same, but Realme 6 Pro charges faster.

Price

In India, Redmi Note 9S is pretty affordable with a starting price of $249/€228, Realme 6 Pro starts at $228/€209, and Poco X2 is actually available for about $210/€192. If we exclude the battery life, Redmi Note 9S lags behind its two rivals. Realme 6 Pro wins the camera comparison (both front and rear cameras), while Poco X2 has a better display and a better chipset.

The latest lineup of affordable mid-range smartphones released by Realme is composed of three devices: Realme 6, Realme 6i and Realme 6 Pro. They cover three price segments, but all of them can be considered mid-rangers. Which phone should you go for? Depending on the kind of user you are, the answer to this question is different. There is no doubt about the fact that Realme 6 Pro is overall the most advanced one, followed by Realme 6. But not under every aspect. In this comparison, we will highlight for you the differences between the specifications of Realme 6, 6i and 6 Pro.

Realme 6 vs Realme 6i vs Realme 6 Pro

Design

At first glance, the vanilla Realme 6 has the most elegant design because it is more minimalistic. While the 6i comes with a notch and 6 Pro has a dual punch-hole, the vanilla version has just a single punch hole in the display. But the 6 Pro wins the design comparison because it is the only with a glass back and its rear side is way more attractive than Realme 6. The silver medal obviously goes to the vanilla version. But each of these phones has a good build quality and protection against water (they are splash resistant).

Display

The displays of Realme 6 and 6 Pro offer exactly the same specifications with the exception of the diagonal: the Pro variant has a slightly wider 6.6-inch screen (but it comes with a dual punch hole instead of a single one). In both cases, you get a Full HD+ resolution, a 90 Hz refresh rate, and a 120 Hz touch-sampling rate, as well as a high 480 nits brightness. The 6i is inferior with its 6.5-inch display sporting a lower HD+ resolution and a standard 60 Hz refresh rate. So if you need a very nice display, either go for the IPS panel of the Realme 6 or the 6 Pro without thinking twice.

Specs & Software

Despite it is mounted on a more affordable version, the Helio G90T found on the vanilla Realme 6 has actually better CPU and GPU performance than the Snapdragon 720G found on the 6 Pro. A lot of people prefer Qualcomm’s chipsets due to MediaTek’s past, but that is the truth. On the other hand, the Snapdragon 720G has a way lower energy consumption than Helio G90T as it is built with a 7 nm production process. The memory configurations in which the two handsets are offered are the same. Realme 6i is powered by an Helio G80 chipset which is inferior to both Helio G90T and Snapdragon 720G, but it is still a very nice SoC with high GPU capabilities. With the whole trio, you get Android 10 out of the box, customized by Realme UI.

Camera

Xiaomi, Vivo, Samsung and OPPO have increased the rates of their smartphones. Realme too joins the bandwagon as it has released a list of revised pricing for the base model of its smartphones.

The Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro will soon carry new starting prices of Rs. 13,999 (~$183) and Rs. 17,999 (~$235). These phones were made official in India at the beginning of this month as the successors for the Realme 5 Pro and Realme X phones from last year. At launch, they were priced at Rs. 12,999 (~$170) and Rs. 16,999 (~$222).

The Realme X2 Pro carried a starting price of Rs. 27,999 (~$367). It will be soon available for Rs. 29,999 (~$393). The Realme X2 Pro Master Edition’s price has been increased to Rs. 36,999 (~$484) from its regular price of Rs. 34,999 (~$456). The Realme X2 will soon sell for Rs. 17,999 instead of its usual price of Rs. 16,999.

Realme is expanding its product lineup in India. The Chinese manufacturer recently unveiled the Realme Band fitness tracker. The company is also expected to soon launch its first smart TV in the country. During the latest edition of #AskMadhav episode on YouTube, Sheth was seen wearing the upcoming Realme smartwatch. He revealed that it will be made official soon in India.

The Realme smartwatch’s official product name is under the wraps. Parent firm OPPO has dubbed its smartwatch as OPPO Watch. It remains to be seen whether the Realme smartwatch will debut as Realme Watch or with some other moniker. The device features a square-shaped dial like the Apple Watch, and it has a black colored strap. Sheth did not share any details on the specs of the upcoming Realme Watch.

What else is coming? The Realme 6 Pro smartphone that was announced earlier this month comes in Lightning Blue and Lightning Orange colors. Sheth revealed that the company will soon announcing Lightning Purple color variant for the Realme 6 Pro. In the video, an unannounced white colored version of the device can be also seen.

The Chinese firm is also gearing up to introduce Bluetooth speakers in the Indian markets. More details on the device is expected to surface in the near future and it is expected to go official with Realme TV. The company will be soon rolling out new watch faces for the Realme Band. A fix for the call notification bug is now available for its users through the latest update on Google Play Store.

The Realme 6 Pro has some exclusive features like slow-motion video shooting and UIS will be coming to Realme 6 users in the next month. Other camera features such as Nightscape 3.0 and Tripod mode won’t be coming to any of the existing phones from the company.

Its display goes up to 120 Hz and it even supports the HDR10 standard, unlike Realme 6 Pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max. At the second place of the ranking, we got the Realme 6 Pro with a 90 Hz refresh rate and a 120 Hz touch sampling rate. Redmi Note 9 Pro Max has a standard refresh rate, so nothing special. The rest of the specs of these displays are similar, including display sizes and resolution that are exactly the same for each device.

Specs & Software

On the hardware side, Poco X2 wins again. It is fueled by a more powerful processor, despite it is an older chipset. We are talking about the Snapdragon 730G, an octa-core chipset with high graphics performance running at a 2.2 GHz max frequency. And the most expensive configuration of the Poco X2 has more internal storage: up to 256 GB. Realme 6 Pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max are powered by an inferior Snapdragon 720G, but still great in terms of performance and gaming. The memory configurations of Realme 6 Pro and Redmi Noe 9 Pro Max are exactly the same and Android 10 is installed out of the box.

Camera

On the paper, Realme 6 Pro has a better camera setup than Redmi Note 9 Pro Max and Poco X2. Unlike its rivals, it includes a 12 MP telephoto lens with a 2x optical zoom. Further, it has an amazing ultrawide front camera with dual 16 + 8 MP sensors. We are not saying Realme 6 Pro is a high-end camera phone, but it looks superior to is opponents. After testing it, we will be able to give you our definitive opinion about its photo quality.

Battery

The battery award goes to Redmi Note 9 Pro equipped with a 5020 mAh battery. We believe it will last a lot more on a single charge in many scenarios. And it even comes with a faster charging technology; however, it will not charge faster until 100 percent since Realme 6 Pro has a smaller battery.

Redmi Note 9 Pro Max prices begin at INR 14,999 / €180 / $202, Realme 6 Pro is available starting from INR 16,999 / $232 / €220, and Poco X2 starts from INR 16,999 as well. Poco X2 wins the comparison when it comes to build quality and performance. Redmi Note 9 Pro Max wins the battery comparison only, so we do not recommend it as the first choice for Indian buyers unless you want to save some money. Realme has recently launched the Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro smartphones in India. The series also includes the unannounced Realme 6i that is yet to go official. The smartphone that has a model number of RMX2040 has been previously spotted at certification platforms like Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and Singapore’s IMDA. The Realme 6i has now appeared on Geekbench with some key specs. The benchmarking platform also has a new listing for the RMX2063 Realme phone. The RMX2063 was spotted at FCC dataset in January. Since the Realme 6 Pro has a model number of RMX2061, the RMX2063 handset could be a country variant of the same phone.

Realme 6i Geekbench

The RMX2040 Realme 6i has appeared with Helio G70 chipset and 4 GB of RAM on Geekbench 5. The handset is loaded with Android 10 OS. It scored 345 and 1293 points in the single-core and multi-core tests of Geekbench 5.

Realme held its biggest unveil event today in India to announce the Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro smartphones. The event was also used to announce the Realme Band as the company’s first ever fitness tracker. At the event, the company confirmed that the Realme 6 is not the successor of the Realme 5 phone, but it has arrived as the successor for the Realme 5 Pro. The Realme 6 Pro has arrived to succeed the Realme X phone from last year. This new product repositioning will let Realme provide users with more devices with flagship experience.

Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro specifications and features

The Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro are equipped with full HD+ 6.5-inch IPS LCD panels that offer 90Hz refresh rate. The screen of the Realme 6 has a single punch-hole whereas the Realme 6 Pro’s display has a pill-shaped punch-hole for housing dual front-facing cameras. The company claims that the Realme 6 series offer a screen-to-body ratio of around 90.5 percent.

The Realme 6 phones are equipped with side-mounted fingerprint reader. A far as the appearance of the Realme 6 is concerned, the company claims that it flaunts a comet inspired design built with optical plating process. The design of the Realme 6 Pro is inspired from thunder and lightning and is manufactured with gradient offset printing process. The Gorilla Glass 5 protects the displays of both phones. The rear shell of the Pro model also features the same reinforced glass. Also, these phones come with come with splash-resistant chassis.

The Helio G90T gaming-centric processor from MediaTek is present under the display of the Realme 6 whereas the Realme 6 Pro has arrived as the world’s first smartphone with the 8nm Snapdragon 720G mobile platform. To control power consumption, the smartphone can automatically switch between 60Hz and 90Hz refresh rates. The Realme 6 Pro comes with super linear speaker with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res audio. Realme’s new 6 series is meeting us tomorrow at 12:30 PM IST in India. The company canceled the offline event and is keeping a virtual press conference to launch one of the most important smartphones from the brand this year. The Realme 6 and 6 Pro will be a bit different from its predecessors, in the sense that the Realme 6 is now targeted at a slightly higher price segment. The company executive cleared this in a tweet earlier this week, saying that the Realme 6 will be the real ‘Pro’ for the brand. This means the Realme 6 Pro will be pushed further higher up in the price segment as well, offering premium features unseen in its predecessors.

There’s a lot we know about the upcoming Realme 6 series, but there’s a lot we don’t know as well. Whenever possible, we’ll try to speculate the missing specifications in this article to give you a complete picture of what to expect from the online event tomorrow.

Realme 6 & 6 Pro Design

Both models are expected to feature a similar design, which includes a punch-hole camera in its display and quad-rear cameras. This would be a deviation from the waterdrop notch on its predecessor but fits right alongside other mid-range punch-hole devices like the Poco X2. One big difference between the two models in terms of design is in the front. The Realme 6 will come with a single punch hole shooter on its display, while the Realme 6 Pro adds two punch-hole cameras on the front.

We have no official word on the placement of the fingerprint sensor, but it could be placed on the side.

Realme 6 Specs

Let’s take a quick look at what to expect from the Realme 6 tomorrow. There are some really big upgrades in the new model. The phone is confirmed to feature a 64MP camera setup at the back likely with a new telephoto sensor. Realme teased 20x zoom on the Realme 6 series, which could be limited to the Pro model.

Another big change that’s expected is in the CPU department. Instead of the Snapdragon 665 chipset found on its predecessor, the Realme 6 should feature MediaTek’s gaming Helio G90T processor. Yes, I said G90T, the same chip found inside the Redmi Note 8 Pro. There were some rumors about the phone getting the slower G90 variant, but the Wi-Fi Alliance certification has practically confirmed MT6785T aka Helio G90T as the chip powering the new device. Also, G90 doesn’t support a 90Hz refresh rate panel, only the G90T does.

Later this week, Realme will announce the Realme 6 series. The two phones in the series are the Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro, and from what we already know, both phones pack some pretty interesting features including displays with a 90Hz refresh rate and four rear cameras each.

However, both phones will differ with respect to the processor inside them. The Realme 6 will have a MediaTek Helio G90 processor whilethe Realme 6 Pro will have a Snapdragon 720G chipset made by Qualcomm. The two processors are actually quite similar and are both designed for gaming, so they should be able to handle any modern mobile game thrown at them.

Snapdragon 720G – 8nm octa-core processor (2x Kryo 465 based on Arm’s Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.3GHz + 6x Kryo 260 based on Arm’s Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.8GHz).

Helio G90 – 12nm octa-core processor (2x Cortex A76 clocked at 2.0GHz  + 6x Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.0GHz).

As you can see from above, the two processors have the same type of cores and core arrangement, differing only with respect to node size and clockspeed. Of course, they also have different GPUs.

Next week is going to be a pretty interesting one for Realme fans. The manufacturer has announced that it will unveil the Realme 6 series as well as its first fitness tracker, the Realme Band, on the 5th of March. There have been plenty of leaks related to the upcoming phones. However, Realme itself has also posted some of the devices’ features. The latest one confirms the phones’ fast charging technology.

The Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro will both have support for 30W Flash Charge. Realme says with this, owners will be able to charge the phones from empty to 40% in just 15 minutes.

30W Flash Charge is a big upgrade compared to the Realme 5 which only supports 10W charging. The Realme 5 Pro, on the other hand, supports VOOC 3.0 (20W). It is interesting to see Realme is giving both the standard version and the Pro model the same fast charging technology. However, both devices will differ in other areas.

The Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro will both have a display with a hole punch on the left but the standard version will come with a single front-facing camera while the Pro will have dual selfie cameras. The two displays have been confirmed to have a 90Hz refresh rate.

Realme is also differentiating both devices with respect to their chipsets. There Realme 6 will have an Helio G90 processor while the Realme 6 Pro will come with the Snapdragon 720G.

Realme says the two phones will have 64MP quad rear cameras but the other sensors may be different.

With 30W Flash Charge, Realme is sure ready to give Xiaomi/Redmi a run for their money. Will the Redmi Note 9 series be able to match? We’ll keep our fingers crossed.

Realme will be launching the Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro smartphones on March 5 in India. The landing page for the Realme 6 series is now active on the official site of Realme India through which some of its key details have been revealed. With few days remaining for the launch, The Unbiased Blog has shared a render that reveals the frontal design of the Realme 6 duo. The publication has also shared the pricing of both smartphones.

As it can be seen in the new render, the Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro smartphones can be sporting punch-hole displays. The Pro model is placed front and it can be seen flaunting a pill-shaped punch-hole. It is said to house an ultrawide selfie camera along with a regular lens. The publication claims that the Realme 6 Pro will mimic the dual frontal cameras of the POCO X2. Also, the screen of the Realme 6 Pro will carry support for 90Hz refresh rate.

On the other side, the Realme 6 has a single punch-hole and is likely to arrive with support regular refresh rate of 60Hz. Both smartphones will be equipped with IPS LCD panels. Except for the thick chin, the other bezels of the Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro are quite slim. The Realme 6 will be powered by the Helio G90 chipset from MediaTek.

The Realme 6 Pro is expected to debut as the world’s first smartphone with Snapdragon 720G processor onboard. The smartphone was spotted yesterday on Geekbench with 8 GB of RAM. The handset will be also sporting a side-facing fingerprint reader. The battery sizes of both smartphones are not known yet. The Pro model will be arriving with support for 30W rapid charging technology. The official landing page of the Realme 6 series revealed that the quad camera setup of the Realme 6 Prow will feature a 64-megapixel main lens, an ultrawide lens, a telephoto sensor and a macro lens.

The leak further reveals that the Realme 6 will arriving with a starting price of Rs. 9,999 (~$139). The Realme 6 Pro’s base model could be equipped with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. It may carry a price tag of Rs. 13,999 (~$195).

It has been confirmed that the Realme 6 series will be announced on Thursday, March 5. Realme is expected to announce the Realme 6 and the Realme 6 Pro. There will also be a Realme 6i but that may launch later.

Ahead of the launch, the Realme 6 Pro has been spotted on Geekbench and the benchmark result reveals some key details.

The Realme 6 Pro was benchmarked today and appears as the realme RMX2061 on the database. The device runs Android 10 and it should ship with Realme UI out of the box. It has been reported that the phone will have the new Snapdragon 720G processor powering it and the Geekbench result does confirm that it has a Qualcomm chipset. The result also shows the phone has 8GB of RAM.

Realme has confirmed some features of the phone. We already know it will have a display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a punch-hole at the top left corner for two front-facing cameras. It will also have a 64MP primary rear camera paired with an ultrawide camera, a telephoto camera, and a macro camera for a quad-camera setup.

It has been reported that the standard version (Realme 6) will have an Helio G90 processor and a punch hole for a single selfie camera.

The launch event is scheduled to begin at 12:30 PM (IST). Realme will also announce its first fitness tracker, the Realme Band, at the event.

This afternoon, Realme CEO Madhav Sheth confirmed that the company will be launching Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro smartphones on March 5 at 12:30 p.m. in India. The landing page for the Realme 6 series has revealed the front and rear designs of the Realme 6 and 6 Pro smartphones along with some of its key features. Citing information received from industry sources, 91mobiles has revealed that the Realme 6 Pro will be powered by Snapdragon 720G mobile platform.

Qualcomm had announced the Snapdragon 720G chipset alongside Snapdragon 662 and 460 in January. The SD720G has Elite gaming features along with HDR support like the more powerful Snapdragon 765G that powers the Realme X50 smartphone which is currently available in China only. The new SoC features 2.3GHz octa core processor, Adreno 618 graphics and Snapdragon X15 LTE modem. Its other features include dual VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1 and Quick Charge 4.0. after the launch of the chipset, Realme had claimed that it will be the first company to launch a Snapdragon 720G powered smartphone. Apart from Realme 6 Pro an upcoming Xiaomi phone is also expected to arrive in the same chipset.

The Realme 6 Pro is confirmed to arrive with 90Hz refresh rate supporting display. With the inclusion of Snapdragon 720G, the smartphone is expected to deliver stellar gaming experience. It is speculated that the handset does not feature an OLED screen. It may come with a LCD panel that features an elliptical cutout for the dual selfie cameras upper left corner.

The Realme 6 Pro phone is equipped with side-facing fingerprint sensor. Its rear side has a quad camera setup that includes 64-megapixel main lens, an ultra wide lens, a super macro lens and a telephoto lens with 20x hybrid zoom.

As far as Realme 6 phone is concerned, its Wi-Fi certification from last month had revealed that it is powered by MediaTek Helio P90 chipset. The listing had also revealed that the phone supports dual band Wi-Fi and is loaded with Android 10 OS. Both phones are expected to feature realme UI.

Also, the Realme 6 duo are expected to arrive with support for 30W rapid charging technology. The Realme 6 phone also features a quad camera setup and a single punch-hole display. The other specifications of these phones are currently under the wraps.

After launching the flagship X50 Pro 5G smartphone, Realme is all set to launch a new smartphone series in the Indian market. The company has confirmed that it will be launching the Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro smartphones in India on 5th March.

The poster shared by the company along with making the launch date announcement also reveals that Realme has signed Bollywood superstar Salman Khan as the ambassador. It remains to be seen if he is an ambassador for the Realme 6 series only or for the brand.

The company is promoting the upcoming smartphones with hashtag #ProCameraProDisplay and claims that the “user experience will get new benchmarks with 64MP” camera. This confirms that the Realme 6 Pro has a 64MP primary camera sensor in what is believed to be a quad-camera setup.

The company has also confirmed that the smartphone will come with 90Hz Ultra Smooth Full HD+ display which aims to deliver sharp and vivid visual experience. The phone is also confirmed to come with 30W fast charging technology.

Realme will be taking “Blind Orders” for the Realme 6 series smartphones in India from 26th February to 4th March. Users can make a deposit of ₹1,000 to pre-order the smartphone and pay the due balance on 15th March when the first sale will take place.

The Realme number series smartphones have more than nine million users, as per the company. The Realme 5 series, which was launched last year, was one of the brand’s most popular series with sales exceeding 5.5 million units. Now, the series is all set to get its successor on 5th March. The company is also set to launch the first Realme fitness band at the same event in India.

The Realme brand is bared 3 years old but has got a fast-growing product catalogue to its name. The Realme 5 series launched last year was one of the brand’s most popular series with sales exceeding 5.5 million units. Realme India’s CEO Madhav Sheth teased the two devices are coming soon through a tweet. He later posted a second tweet which happened to be a photo sample shot using the Realme 6. This was confirmed by the watermark on the photo which captured Madhav Sheth and Bollywood star Salman Khan. The watermark equally confirmed the camera onboard is a 64MP main sensor in a quad-cam arrangement.

Later on, a teaser poster shared by Realme Mobile’s official Twitter page confirms the Realme 6 series is coming soon. However, there is no confirmation of the date when the device will be officially launched. We expect more details to emerge in the coming days, though.

Just like the Realme 5 series that had a Realme 5i model, the Realme 6 series will equally have a realme 6i model. The 6i had earlier appeared on FCC’s website to flaunt the design of the model. The device is expected to pack a Quad-camera setup but this time around, the main sensor will be a 48MP one. The realme 6i is also expected to pack a 5,000mAh battery which will sadly be charged via a micro-USB port.

The Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro smartphones were made official in August this year in India. The company is preparing to launch two new phones in the Indian market such as Realme X2 Pro and Realme XT 730G. A video that shows the leaked retail box has surfaced on YouTube. The retail box has two main features mentioned on it.

As can be seen in the snapshots taken from the video, the Realme 6 retail box reveals that the device is powered by the Snapdragon 710 processor. Also, it is equipped with a penta-lens camera setup on its rear. This indicates that the Realme 6 will be arriving as many as 5 cameras on its rear.

There is a possibility that the more powerful Realme 6 Pro may also launch alongside the Realme 6 phone. The Realme 3 phone was made official in March and the Realme 3 Pro was announced in April. Hence, there is a possibility that the Realme 6 series may go official around the first quarter of 2020.

Readers are advised to digest the Realme 6 retail box leak with a grain of salt as there is no concrete proof to confirm its authenticity. It remains to be seen whether Realme may offer improved quad cameras or penta-lens camera system on the Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro.
