<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/realme-gt-5/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Realme GT 5</a> has finally been unveiled in China. The high-end smartphone is the latest entry in its popular GT lineup and features some beefy specs and features, so here&#8217;s everything you need to know about the device like its specs, design, pricing, and more.</p>

<h2>Realme GT 5: Design &amp; Display</h2>

<p>Realme partnered with BYD Electronisc for the &#8216;<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/08/24/realme-gt-5-design-officially-revealed/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Miracle Glass</a>&#8216; on the rear of the GT 5 model. The phone features a dual-tone body for the back panel and a large camera island. Similar to the recent Pixel phones, it also features a visor-like camera module, although, it is much wider. This module features two rings for the cameras on the left. Meanwhile, the right side includes rectangular-shaped LED light strips (dubbed Halo Pro) that offer different colors and a transparent glass window that showcases the Snapdragon chipset. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="683" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Realme-GT-5-Featured-C-1024x683.jpg?x44794" alt="Realme GT 5" class="wp-image-561257" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Realme-GT-5-Featured-C-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Realme-GT-5-Featured-C-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Realme-GT-5-Featured-C-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Realme-GT-5-Featured-C-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Realme-GT-5-Featured-C-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Realme-GT-5-Featured-C-1068x712.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Realme-GT-5-Featured-C-630x420.jpg 630w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Realme-GT-5-Featured-C.jpg 1914w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>On the other hand, the front sports a tall 6.74-inch OLED display that offers 1.5K resolution and a high 144Hz refresh rate. The panel also features a center-aligned punch-hole selfie camera. <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If popular leakster Digital Chat Station is to be believed, Realme has plans to open an independent e-commerce shopping mall for its devices. This has come as a surprise as Realme is affiliated with OPPO and OnePlus, and was founded in August 2018. Realme and OnePlus had their own special sections in the OPPO Mall, which served as a dedicated e-commerce platform. Now, not even a single Realme product can be found in the OPPO Mall. Furthermore, the brand section of Realme has also been removed from the app, while OnePlus has not been affected whatsoever. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The link that opened the Realme smartphones section in the OPPO Mall now shows the following notification- &#8220;This product has been removed from the shelves, let’s browse other products&#8221;.  Meanwhile, the Realme official mall can be accessed normally.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Realme&#8217;s departure from the OPPO mall this time should signal a stronger brand performance. Previously, the market had a preference for a handful of Realme products, and this preference has significantly increased. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/realme-gt2-explorer-master/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Realme GT2 Master Explorer Edition</a> is now scheduled to be released in July as well. The smartphone, which has a 6.7-inch 2412 x 1080p 120Hz AMOLED screen, weighs 199g, is 8.2mm thick, and has a 4880mAh (nominal 5000mAh) battery inside. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Optics of the device feature a front 16MP, rear 50MP + 50MP + 2MP, and 100W rapid charge. The Snapdragon 8+ mobile platform is anticipated to be included with the Realme GT2 Master Explorer Edition.</span></p>

The company had set the annual goal at the start of this year and has achieved it ahead of schedule.</p>
<p>Earlier this year, the Chinese smartphone maker&#8217;s Vice President, Xu Qi, had set a goal for annual sales to hit 10 million units this year. This goal was for the Chinese market in particular and the company shared this achievement earlier today (9th November 2021) on social media. We had also reported on <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/11/08/realme-sells-1-million-units-in-just-7-days-aims-to-achieve-10-million-target/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Realme selling over 1 million units</a> through both offline and online channels in a week, as part of the Double 11 (Singles Day) sale event.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class=" wp-image-423981 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/b36f85f7-31ee-4377-ba1b-e1eb10dc832f.jpg?x44794" alt="Realme" width="564" height="986" /></p>
<p>Notably, this achievement is also indicative of the massive growth the brand has seen over the last two years. Earlier this month, Xu Qi had also stated that the company will be focusing on launching <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/11/02/realme-expand-premium-segment-flagship-5000-yuan/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">premium grade smartphones in the Chinese market</a> with high end specifications next year, although, he refrained from revealing any further details regarding this matter. However, the brand&#8217;s mid range segment still has a strong presence in its home country&#8217;s market with the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/10/19/realme-q3s-launched-144hz-display-snapdragon-778g-5g-and-more/">Realme Q3s</a> being one of the most popular models in terms of sales during the Double 11 season, with over 100,000 units being sold on the first day of sale alone.</p>

<p>As per the senior official, even the 10 million shipment figure was actually &#8216;conservative&#8217; and that the Chinese tech giant is expecting at least 20 million units in sales in 2021. Furthermore, the goal to reach this high figure will be supplemented by the company&#8217;s efforts to boost its offline sales. This would be made possible as the smartphone vendor aims to expand the number of its physical stores in its home market of China to expand its coverage.</p>
<p>During the event, Xu Qi also announced that the company&#8217;s sales of smartphone in the first quarter of this year is nearly the same as its overall smartphone sales from last year. This marks an year on year increase of 463 percent in Q1 2021. Meaning, Realme has seen an explosive growth, especially in the Chinese market. The executive also added that the brand is aiming to triple its offline sales figure this year.</p>

<p>Notably, the OEM is also planning on following a dual flagship strategy. This implies that the firm will launch two flagship grade smartphones this year. The same strategy will also be adopted for its mid range segments. For the high end devices, the company will launch one smartphone with Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 series processor while the second one would sport a MediaTek Dimensity series 5G chipset.</p>

<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-324210 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Realme-Buds-Q-design.jpg?x44794" alt="Realme Buds Q design" width="847" height="407" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Realme-Buds-Q-design.jpg 847w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Realme-Buds-Q-design-300x144.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Realme-Buds-Q-design-768x369.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Realme-Buds-Q-design-696x334.jpg 696w" sizes="(max-width: 847px) 100vw, 847px" /></p>
<p>The earbuds, which weight 3.6 grams each, have a design different from that of the Realme Buds Air. There are no stems sticking out of your ears and the earbuds have a close-fit design. Realme says it has used an advanced matte processor for the finish. The image shows it will come in black with a matching pebble-shaped case but it will be nice if there are other colorways too. The silicone tips have Realme&#8217;s signature yellow color and the case has an LED in front to let you know when it is charging.</p>
<p>The Realme Buds Q looks nice but the only gripe we have with it is the Realme logo on each earbud which seems to be saying both earbuds are for the wearer&#8217;s right ear. We believe there will be smaller markings on the inside indicating which earbud is for each ear but the Realme logo will be confusing for some first-time users.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-324211 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Realme-Buds-Q-price.png?x44794" alt="Realme Buds Q price" width="487" height="578" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Realme-Buds-Q-price.png 487w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Realme-Buds-Q-price-253x300.png 253w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Realme-Buds-Q-price-354x420.png 354w" sizes="(max-width: 487px) 100vw, 487px" /></p>
<p>Realme also teased the cost of the TWS earbuds by including three different prices and asking folks to guess which one it will be. The prices are ¥199 (~$28), ¥299 (~$42), and ¥399 (~$56). Let us know in the comment box below which one you think will be the price tag of the Realme Buds Q.</p>

The company was launched with a focus on the Indian market but has expanded its presence to other regions as well.</p>
<p>We <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/04/23/realme-china-weibo-live/">recently reported</a> about the company&#8217;s plan to enter its home market and today, the company has officially announced its presence in China. While making the announcement, the company&#8217;s executive said that the brand will offer a rare experience at the same price point and is aiming for the youths.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-249164 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/realme-china.jpg?x44794" alt="Realme China Weibo" width="690" height="472" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/realme-china.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/realme-china-300x205.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/realme-china-218x150.jpg 218w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/realme-china-614x420.jpg 614w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></p>
<p>China is currently the world&#8217;s largest smartphone market and the company will definitely benefit from a presence in its home country. Realme is also expected to enter the Middle East and the Europen market by the end of this year.</p>
<p>Currently, the Realme brand has a presence in seven countries which includes India, Vietnam, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/11/08/realme-2-pro-c1-launch-malaysia/">Malaysia</a>, Indonesia, Thailand, Egypt, and the Philippines. Now, two more countries are added in the list &#8212; China and Taiwan.</p>
<p>With value-for-money smartphones from the company, Realme has managed to achieve an unpretending success in the Indian market. In just about one year of its launch, the company has grabbed 8 percent of the smartphone market share in India.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-248942 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/REalme-3-Pro___.jpg?x44794" alt="Realme 3 Pro" width="1200" height="675" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/REalme-3-Pro___.jpg 1200w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/REalme-3-Pro___-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/REalme-3-Pro___-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/REalme-3-Pro___-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/REalme-3-Pro___-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/REalme-3-Pro___-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/REalme-3-Pro___-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /></p>
<p>However, the company has not yet launched any smartphone in China. It&#8217;s likely that the Realme 3 Pro could be among the first smartphones to be available in China, which was launched in India earlier this week.</p>
<p>Realme 3 Pro is the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/04/22/realme-3-pro-with-6-3-inch-display-sd-710-and-20w-vooc-flash-charging-announced-in-india-for-rs-13999-200/">company’s latest smartphone</a> which comes with a 6.3-inch Full HD+ waterdrop notch display and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 AIE processor with up to 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage.</p>

However, within a couple of months, Realme <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/07/31/oppos-vp-sky-li-resigns-to-become-ceo-of-the-now-autonomous-realme-brand/">split from its parent company</a> Oppo to become an independent brand. The company was launched with a focus on the Indian market but has expanded its presence to other regions as well.</p>
<p>However, Realme has stayed away from the world&#8217;s biggest smartphone market &#8212; China. But that is about to change as it seems that the company is all set to enter the Chinese market. In fact, the brand&#8217;s Weibo page also gone live.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-249164 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/realme-china.jpg?x44794" alt="Realme China Weibo" width="690" height="472" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/realme-china.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/realme-china-300x205.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/realme-china-218x150.jpg 218w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/realme-china-614x420.jpg 614w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></p>
<p>The Weibo page of the Realme doesn&#8217;t reveal anything regarding its plan in China but the fact that the page is already live suggests that the launch of Realme in China is about to happen very soon. The company is also expected to enter the Middle East and the Europen market by the end of this year.</p>
Realme has now started listing China and Taiwan on its website.</p>
<p>Thanks to the value-for-money smartphones from the company, it has managed to achieve an unpretending success in the Indian market. In just about one year of its launch, the company has grabbed 8 percent of the smartphone market share in India.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-222930 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Realme-new-logo.jpg?x44794" alt="Realme new logo" width="1200" height="676" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Realme-new-logo.jpg 1200w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Realme-new-logo-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Realme-new-logo-768x433.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Realme-new-logo-1024x577.jpg 1024w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /></p>
<p>While it&#8217;s still far behind its major competitor Redmi in India, Realme has been rapidly growing in the market and its device offerings also pose as a major threat to the Xiaomi&#8217;s Redmi lineup in India as well as budget phones from other brands.</p>
<p>Although the company has not officially confirmed anything, it seems that the Realme 3 Pro could be among the first smartphones to be available in China when the brand officially announces its entry in the world&#8217;s largest smartphone market.</p>
<p>Realme 3 Pro is the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/04/22/realme-3-pro-with-6-3-inch-display-sd-710-and-20w-vooc-flash-charging-announced-in-india-for-rs-13999-200/">company&#8217;s latest smartphone</a> which comes with a 6.3-inch Full HD+ waterdrop notch display and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 AIE processor with up to 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage.</p>
