Samsung has begun rolling out its 2026 home audio lineup in the US, bringing a mix of new Wi-Fi speakers under the Music Studio series and updated Q-Series soundbars. The focus this year is on smarter audio tuning and easier integration across multiple devices.

The new soundbar range is headlined by the HW-Q990H, which comes with an 11.1.4 channel setup and supports Dolby Atmos over both HDMI and wireless connections. It also includes dual active subwoofers. Like previous high-end models, it uses SpaceFit Sound Pro to adjust audio based on the room, but now relies on a built-in microphone for more accurate tuning. Features such as Adaptive Sound, Sound Elevation, and Auto Volume are also part of the package, handling content detection, aligning audio with the screen, and keeping volume levels steady.

Below it, the HW-Q900H and HW-Q800H carry over most of the same features, including Dolby Atmos, SpaceFit Sound Pro, Adaptive Sound, AI Dynamic Bass Control, and Auto Volume. The differences mainly come down to channel output and where they sit in the lineup. Samsung is also adding the HW-QS90H, which is designed as a single-unit option. It has a 7.1.2 channel configuration with four built-in woofers, so there is no separate subwoofer. A built-in gyro sensor detects whether it is placed on a table or mounted on a wall and adjusts the sound accordingly.

On the speaker side, the Music Studio 7 is aimed at users who want a single speaker setup. It delivers 3.1.1 channel audio and supports Dolby Atmos in both wired and wireless modes. Samsung has added Pattern Control to manage sound direction and reduce distortion, along with AI Dynamic Bass Control, SpaceFit Sound Pro, and Active Voice Amplifier Pro. It supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Spotify Tap.

The Music Studio 5 is a smaller option built for tighter spaces. It uses waveguide technology to spread sound more evenly and includes AI-based audio processing, Dynamic Bass Control, SpaceFit Sound Pro, and Active Voice Amplifier Pro. Connectivity options remain the same as the larger model.

Both speakers work with Q-Symphony, allowing them to sync with compatible Samsung TVs and soundbars. The feature now supports up to five devices and adjusts audio based on how the speakers are placed.

Samsung is also offering control through its Samsung Sound app, which brings device grouping, playback control, and audio settings into one place.

The Music Studio 5 starts at USD 299.99, while the HW-Q990H is priced at USD 1,999.99. The lineup is now rolling out through Samsung’s website and retail stores, with some models expected to arrive later.

LG Electronics has introduced the LG Sound Suite, a new premium home audio system in South Korea. The system focuses on delivering spatial sound throughout the home without requiring fixed wired speaker placement. LG says the setup is designed for watching movies and sports, streaming music, and regular TV viewing. It was initially unveiled at CES 2026 back in January.

Flexible multi-speaker system

The Sound Suite lineup includes four main components. The Soundbar H7 serves as the central hub and manages sound processing using AI. The M7 and M5 models act as surround speakers that can be placed in different parts of the room to create a wider soundstage. The W7 subwoofer is responsible for handling low frequencies and providing deeper bass.

LG says the system supports up to 50 configuration combinations. When users build the system around the soundbar, there are 28 possible configurations. A setup centered around an LG TV allows 22 combinations. The largest configuration uses the Soundbar H7, four M7 surround speakers, and the W7 subwoofer. In this setup, the system outputs 13.1.7 channels designed for full multi-directional audio.

Audio technologies and features

One of the main features is Dolby Atmos FlexConnect. This technology identifies where speakers are placed and adjusts the audio output automatically. Users can place speakers freely around the room without losing spatial audio accuracy. The feature works with LG premium TVs released in 2025 and 2026 for synchronized sound output.

Sound Follow is another key feature. It uses ultra-wideband wireless technology and the LG ThinQ app to detect where the listener is located. The system then adjusts the audio so the user hears sound from the best listening position.

Room Calibration Pro analyzes the size, layout, and acoustic characteristics of the room. Based on this analysis, the system adjusts audio output to suit the installed environment.

The system is powered by LG’s third-generation Alpha11 AI processor. Through AI Sound Pro+, it identifies voices, music, and sound effects, then adjusts levels for clearer playback. AI Upmix also expands low-channel audio into multi-channel output so all speakers in the setup are used.

Peerless premium drivers are included to deliver balanced high and low frequencies. The system supports wireless streaming through Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, with stereo and standalone listening modes available.

Price and availability

LG will begin selling the Sound Suite in South Korea starting April 2026 through LGE.COM and LG Best Shop retail stores.

The Soundbar H7 is priced at 1,299,000 won, which is around $880 or ₹80,650. The W7 subwoofer costs 799,000 won, about $541. The M7 surround speaker is priced at 549,000 won, about $372. The M5 surround speaker costs 449,000 won, about $304.

JVC Kenwood has introduced the Victor TH-WD05, a new integrated soundbar built around the company’s wood-cone speaker technology. Sony India has launched two new home audio products under its BRAVIA Theatre range: the BRAVIA Theatre System 6 and BRAVIA Theatre Bar 6. Both products are built to deliver strong surround sound, clear dialogue, and easy integration with BRAVIA TVs.

The BRAVIA Theatre System 6 is a 5.1 channel system with 1000W output. JBL has introduced its new Bar MK2 series of Dolby Atmos soundbars. The updated lineup includes five models, starting from the entry-level Bar 300MK2 and going up to the flagship Bar 1300MK2. What’s most frustrating is that the firmware update (version 1020) arrived without any changelog, leaving users blind to what they were installing. The fallout has been massive, with angry reports flooding Samsung’s community forums and Reddit threads. Users say Samsung’s customer support acknowledged the problem but could only escalate complaints to the warranty department with no immediate solution in sight.

This isn’t something that can be fixed with a quick patch. Samsung has admitted that the damage requires a physical repair. The company told What Hi-Fi? earlier this week that it was “investigating” and taking “immediate action,” but the number of impacted devices appears significant.

LG has just unveiled a new audio home product. The company has announced the LG S95TR Soundbar in its home market of South Korea. This hearable device was first unveiled back in December 2023 and was showcased in CES 2024 as well. So here are all the details.

Philips has announced the launch of three new soundbars – the TAB6309, TAB5309, and TAB5109 – designed to pair with Philips Ambilight TVs. Each model targets different user preferences and budgets, aiming to improve the audio experience in home settings.

The premium model, TAB6309, is a 2.1-channel speaker system with a power output of 320W. It supports Dolby Atmos and DTS Virtual:X audio formats, promising a high-quality 3D sound experience. Its notable feature is a slim profile of 37 mm, ensuring it doesn’t block the TV screen. The soundbar comes with a compact wireless subwoofer, offering versatile placement options.
