The company has introduced a new addition to the Xiaomi Pad 6 series that was launched in China in June this year. The latest offering is called the Xiaomi Pad 6 Max. It seems to be the highest variant in the Pad 6 lineup that already has a standard (review) and pro models (review). Read on to know what it offers out of the box. 

Xiaomi Pad 6 Max specifications and features

The Xiaomi Pad 6 Max retains the same design as its siblings with a metal unibody and a square camera module on the rear. The tablet looks quite premium. The display and audio department is where the Pad 6 Max gets upgraded. It is the largest in the lineup boasting a 14-inch LCD screen. This is said to be 62 percent larger than the Pad 6 Pro. A report came out online last week saying that the new Xiaomi Pad 6 Max will be pretty much the same as the Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro (review) but with a bigger screen. Now, this idea seems even more true because the Xiaomi Pad 6 Max showed up on Geekbench revealing its key specifications.

The Geekbench listing of the Xiaomi Pad 6 Max with model number 2307BRPDCC reveals that it features a 3.19GHz octa-core processor codenamed Taro. This confirms that the device will indeed feature the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, which is the same one used in the Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro.

Also, the tablet will come with a maximum of 12GB of RAM. When it comes to the software, this new tablet will feature Android 13-based MIUI 14 OS. In the Geekbench test, the tablet scored 1752 points in the single-core test and 4618 points in the multi-core test. Other than that, the listing does not reveal other details about the device. But since it will be similar to the Pad 6 Pro, we can get an idea of what to expect.

In a new and not very surprising development, a tipster claims that the Xiaomi Pad 6 Max is essentially the Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro (review) with a larger display. The rear camera module is said to be similar to the Pad 6 series, and the specifications are the same as the Pad 6 Pro, with the exception of the screen size. The Max model has a 14-inch display, while the Pad 6 Pro has an 11-inch display.

This makes it a good option for those who want a large tablet for productivity or entertainment. However, we are not sure if this model will make it out of China. Currently, only the Xiaomi Pad 6 (review) is available for purchase in the global market while the Pad 6 Pro is limited to Chinese customers.

Similarly, the Redmi K60 Ultra is also expected to launch in August. The new report states that the MIX Fold 3 and Pad 6 Max will be launched in separate events in China, with the smartphone model expected to launch in early August ahead of the MIX Fold 3. Furthermore, the software for the MIX Fold 3 and Pad 6 Max is already live on the official MIUI server.

The MIX Fold 3 carries the codename Babylon (MIUI FOLD 14.1 based on Android 13 out of the box.). On the other hand, the Pad 6 Max will feature the codename Yudy, which is also based on Android 13. Notably, the launch timeline is also in line with our previous report that hinted at a Q3 2023 launch.

This development suggests that the Xiaomi Pad 6 Max might be an entirely new device altogether.

Spotted by TheTechOutlook, the 3C certification for the Xiaomi Pad 6 Max (model number 2307BPDCC) reveals that it will support 67W fast charging, matching the charging capacity of the Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro. While no other details are provided in the listing, the tablet’s name, “Max,” suggests that it will likely offer superior features compared to other models in the Xiaomi Pad 6 lineup. This could include a more powerful processor or a larger display. To gain insights into what we can anticipate from the “Max” variant, let’s examine the specifications of the Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro.

Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro specs

The Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro offers an 11-inch LCD display with a 2880 x 1800 pixel resolution and a smooth 144Hz refresh rate. Yesterday Xiaomi Group President Lu Weibing confirmed that the next-generation Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 will be announced in August. The executive added that it will be thinner and stronger than its predecessor model. The exact launch date of the upcoming foldable phone remains unknown at the moment. Additionally, reliable tipster Digital Chat Station took to Weibo to reveal that many other products are also expected to debut in Q3, 2023. 

Xiaomi and Redmi devices to launch in the third quarter of 2023

Digital Chat Station says that the upcoming devices from Xiaomi and its sub-brand Redmi include the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3, Redmi K60 Ultra, Redmi Pad 2, and Xiaomi Pad 6 Max. All four devices are tipped to launch in the third quarter of 2023 i.e. the period between July to September. Since the MIX Fold 3 is very much confirmed to debut in August, it remains to be seen if the aforementioned devices will also tag along at the same time during the foldable phone’s launch. 

The Redmi K60 Ultra has appeared in various leaks and rumors in the past. It is already tipped to launch in late July. The device will reportedly powered by a Dimensity 9200+ processor and support 120W fast charging. As for the Xiaomi Pad 6 Max, it has bagged Bluetooth SIG certification with the model number 23078KB5BC. Not much information about the device is known at the moment. Meanwhile, the Redmi Pad 2 has already bagged various certifications including 3C, FCC, and Geekbench hinting at an imminent launch. Key specifications of the device are expected to include a Snapdragon 680, 18W charging, an 8,000mAh battery, and up to 6GB + 128GB RAM and storage.

Is it the Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro?

The Xiaomi Pad 6 Max appears to be the next tablet to join the company’s global market portfolio. The device was recently discovered on the Bluetooth SIG certification website with the model number 23078KB5BC. Although the listing itself does not reveal anything interesting beyond confirming Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity, it does suggest an imminent launch.

Bluetooth SIG lists 23078KB5BC as a keyboard, while the model number and the device’s name indicate that it is a tablet. However, since there is no official confirmation yet, it is advisable to take this information with a pinch of salt.
