Sweet Luxury: Caviar’s Edible Gold and Chocolate iPhone

This remarkable creation isn’t your typical smartphone; it’s a fully edible chocolate bar meticulously crafted from natural chocolate and adorned with a coating of 23-karat edible gold. The chocolate iPhone 15 Pro Max comes with a price tag of $1,100, which is surprisingly close to the cost of a standard iPhone 15 Pro Max featuring 256 GB of storage.

Caviar iPhone 15 Pro Max chocolate bar

Interestingly, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen a Wonka-themed product recently. Just last month, Xbox and Warner Bros. collaborated to release a limited edition chocolate-themed Xbox Series console to tie in with the upcoming film.

Regarding Caviar’s chocolate iPhone, the edible gold used in this creation is identified as additive E175. It’s completely safe, hypoallergenic, and chemically neutral, meaning it has no adverse effects on the body’s blood composition or digestion. The phone is described as having a flavor that balances almond cookies with creamy notes, and it leaves a spicy aftertaste for about 30 seconds.

Caviar iPhone 15 Pro Max chocolate bar

In addition to the chocolate version, Caviar offers a more luxurious and functional variant of the iPhone 15 Pro Max named the Maze 18K. This version is adorned with 18-karat gold and features 39 diamonds, and it comes with a staggering price of $50,360.

For those interested in personalization, Caviar has set up the Bespoke Atelier on their website, where customers can order a custom-designed phone with various options for customization, design styles, and materials, including the chocolate variant.

Caviar’s innovative approach goes beyond chocolate iPhones; they are known for their creative and sometimes eccentric ideas, such as Viking and UFO-themed iPhones. As the brand continues to surprise with its unique concepts, we can expect to see more unusual and luxurious iPhone designs in the coming years.

Asus NUC 13 Rugged, previously known as the Intel NUC 13 Rugged, has been officially launched as an Asus product.

This transition follows Intel‘s decision to close its NUC division, with Asus taking over the development and distribution of NUC-branded computers under a non-exclusive license. This development indicates the possibility of other companies potentially offering NUC systems in the future.

Asus NUC 13 Rugged

Asus‘s NUC 13 Rugged is a compact, fanless, and dustproof mini PC designed to withstand harsh environments. It operates in external ambient temperatures ranging from 0 to 50 degrees Celsius, making it suitable for challenging settings. Nothing Phone (2a) specifications tipped: 6.7″ screen, and 50MP dual camera

It’s almost certain now that Nothing is working on a more budget-friendly device, the Phone (2a), to complement the Phone (2). Just yesterday, we covered a leak revealing the possible design of the phone. Now, thanks to tipster Yogesh Brar, we have details about the specifications and a likely price range for the upcoming Nothing Phone (2a).

The tipster shared an image of a PVT or Production Validation Unit of the phone that shows it from both the front and back. And if the tipster is to be believed, the Phone 2a will feature a 120Hz OLED display, with the device’s About Phone page indicating a screen size of 6.7 inches.

It will be powered by the Dimensity 7200 chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. However, there might be other memory options available at the time of the device’s launch.

The back of the phone houses two 50MP camera sensors — one of them, of course, is a primary lens and the other possibly is an ultrawide lens. The Phone (2) also has a similar camera configuration with a 50MP primary and a 50MP ultrawide lens. The front camera is expected to be 16MP.

On the software side, the Phone (2a) will run on Nothing OS 2.5 based on Android 14. The company has recently started rolling out Nothing OS 2.5 to Phone (2) users.

We’ve already seen a sketch of the Phone (2a) that shows a distinct design compared to its bigger sibling. This move by the brand is likely to create a difference between its premium and more affordable offerings.

Nothing Phone 2a Design Processor Leak

The Phone (2a) is expected to have fewer Glyph interface elements on the back compared to the Phone (2). However, the tipster suggests that Glyph controls will remain similar to the Phone (2). This means that we can expect the LED light will likely support app notifications and integrations.

In addition, the leak hints at a possible launch for the Phone (2a) at the Mobile World Congress (MWC). Nothing has an event scheduled for February 27, so this could be the launch date for the phone. The expected price tag for the Nothing Phone (2a) is around $400.

Meizu 21 Pro could be launching soon, receives certification in China

In November, Meizu launched the Meizu 21 flagship smartphone in China. While it typically introduces a Pro version alongside the standard model, equipped with a larger screen and bigger battery, the Meizu 21 Pro was noticeably absent during the initial announcement. However, a recent development indicates that the Pro variant has secured approval from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, suggesting an imminent release.

Meizu 21 Pro receives MIIT certification

Two new Meizu models, bearing the model numbers M481Q and M481S, have recently received clearance from the CMIIT authority, as evidenced by the screenshots above. These models are believed to be variants of the upcoming Meizu 21 Pro. While these listings suggest an imminent launch in China, they remain tight-lipped about the device’s specifications.

The Meizu 21 Pro will likely come equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which also powers the standard model. There is a high possibility that the device will feature a bigger 2K resolution display as the Meizu 21 has a 6.55-inch AMOLED panel that offers a 1.5K resolution.

The Meizu 21 has a 4,800mAh battery with 80W charging. The 21 Pro may likely house a bigger 5,020mAh battery with 80W wired and 50W wireless charging support.

The Meizu 20 Pro came with three 50-megapixel rear-facing cameras, one of which was a telephoto camera with optical zoom support. While the Meizu 21 lacks a telephoto camera, the Pro variant may come equipped with it.

It is unclear whether the Meizu 21 Pro will debut within this month in China. If it does not happen, it may debut in January 2024.

Apple to pay $25M to settle Family Sharing lawsuit: Check if you’re eligible for a cut

Apple just agreed to pay $25 million to settle a lawsuit claiming it misled users about sharing app subscriptions with their Family Sharing groups. Read on to see if you’re eligible for a payout.

The lawsuit, filed in 2019 in the Superior Court of California, accused Apple of falsely promising users they could share any app subscription with their family members. The lawsuit claimed users were misled into buying subscriptions they couldn’t actually share, costing them money.

Apple says it did nothing wrong, but it agreed to pay $25 million to settle the case instead of facing a potentially expensive legal battle.

So who is eligible for a cut? The lawsuit settlement reads, “All persons who initiated the purchase of a subscription to an app through the Apple App Store, excluding subscriptions to first-party Apple apps, during the period June 21, 2015, through January 30, 2019, while enrolled in a Family Sharing group that had at least one other member at the time of the purchase, and who Apple’s records indicate were resident in the United States at the time of the purchase.”

To say it simply, if you meet the following criteria, you can claim a share of the settlement:

  • You were part of a Family Sharing group with at least one other person between June 2015 and January 2019.
  • You lived in the US during that time.
  • You bought a non-Apple app subscription through the App Store during that period.

The exact amount depends on how many people file claims, but it could be up to $50 per person (via MacRumors).

Eligible users have until March 1, 2024, to file a claim. You can do it easily on the Family Sharing Plan lawsuit website. A final hearing is set for April 2, 2024, to finalize the settlement.

If you think you might qualify, check the website and file your claim before the deadline. You could get some money back for that app subscription you couldn’t share with your family.

iQOO Neo 9 series will debut along with a new smartwatch and earbud

While the iQOO 12 series is still fresh in our minds, the company is already gearing up for the launch of its Neo 9 lineup in December. The series will include two devices, Neo 9 and Neo 9 Pro. But that’s not all – a new leak now suggests we can also expect a smartwatch and a pair of wireless earbuds alongside the phones.

The devices in question are the iQOO Watch and iQOO TWS 1e. 91mobiles exclusively leaked details of these wearables alongside an official-looking render of them.

As you can see, the iQOO Watch has a circular case with a rotating crown on top and a button at the bottom on the right side. The watch is black, has an iQOO watch face, and a band likely made of silicone.

Reports indicate that the iQOO Watch might be a re-branded Vivo Watch 3, which was launched last month. Vivo had previously released a limited edition Vivo Watch 2 iQOO smartwatch with iQOO-inspired design, so this upcoming iQOO watch may follow a similar strategy.

Moving on, the upcoming iQOO TWS 1e is also suggested to be a rebranded Vivo TWS 3e launched days ago. The only difference is the new dual-tone Black color option inspired by iQOO. Nonetheless, there’s also a white variant of the earbud.

The iQOO TWS 1e is expected to come with an 11mm dynamic driver and active noise cancellation (ANC) support. It will feature DeepX 3.0 and 3D Panoramic Audio effects for an immersive sound experience. The battery life is expected to come in at around 9 hours with active noise cancellation on.

Even though the launch date hasn’t been officially confirmed by the brand, we reported that iQOO will launch the Neo 9 series smartphones on December 27. An official confirmation from the company is expected soon.

The New Carice TC2 Electric Sports Car is as Pure and Light as EVs Get

Electric vehicles (EVs) often get a bad rap for being bulky and unexciting. But, the Carice TC2 from the Netherlands is turning heads and changing minds. This electric sports car is a game-changer in the EV world, weighing just 1,300 pounds (about 590 kilograms). It’s proof that you can have a blast driving while still being kind to the planet.

The electric motor packs 56 horsepower and a 31.5 kilowatt-hour-battery

The TC2 is not just another electric car. It’s a blend of classic style and modern technology. Inspired by legendary sports cars like the Porsche 550 Spyder, it’s a fresh take on an old favorite. Unlike many electric vehicles that are modified versions of existing models (restomods) or assembled from pre-made parts (kit cars), the TC2 is built from scratch. It’s a perfect marriage of old-school cool and new-school smarts.

Electric

Under its sleek hood, the TC2 packs a modest but mighty punch. It’s got a rear-mounted electric motor with 56 horsepower and a 31.5-kilowatt-hour battery. This setup gets you up to 186 miles on a single charge. Sure, it’s not the most powerful beast on the block, but it’s not trying to be. The TC2 is all about the joy of driving—a lightweight, nimble machine that’s quick enough to put a smile on your face.

What’s really interesting about the TC2 is what it doesn’t have. No power steering, no ABS, no brake assist, no traction control, and no annoying beeping safety systems. It’s a throwback to a time when driving was more about skill and less about tech. This approach might not be for everyone, but it’s a breath of fresh air for those who love the thrill of the drive.

The first game to be announced was ‘Turnip Boy Robs a Bank’

First up on January 15th is ‘Turnip Boy Robs a Bank‘, a game that cleverly combines elements from the classic ‘Legend of Zelda’ with a modern twist, offering a top-down 2D roguelite adventure. This nostalgic nod is a smart move, appealing to both long-time gamers and newbies.

Xbox game pass

Following closely on January 25th is ‘Go Mecha Ball’, another day one release. This game, featuring a blend of twin-stick shooter and roguelike elements, caters to fans of fast-paced, action-packed gaming. It’s an example of how Xbox Game Pass is diversifying its portfolio to include something for every type of gamer.

But the excitement for 2024 doesn’t stop with these two games. Titles like ‘Persona 3 Reload’, ‘Open Roads’, and ‘Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes’ are also on the horizon. Each of these games brings a unique flavor to the Game Pass collection, ensuring that subscribers have a wide variety of genres and gaming experiences to choose from.

The premium tier, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, is a reminder of the value that Xbox is offering. With a library of over 100 games, it’s an unparalleled deal in the gaming world. This variety and accessibility underscore Xbox’s commitment to providing a rich gaming experience that caters to a wide audience.
