MSI and NVIDIA released the MPG 272QRF X36 G-SYNC Pulsar, a 27-inch gaming monitor built for esports. The Rapid IPS panel runs at WQHD resolution (2560 x 1440) with a 360Hz refresh rate.

The main feature is G-SYNC Pulsar technology. It uses variable frequency backlight strobing to deliver four times better motion clarity than regular displays. You still get G-SYNC’s smooth, tear-free visuals. This matters for competitive players who need to track fast movements accurately.

G-SYNC Ambient Adaptive Technology adjusts the display automatically using a built-in light sensor. It changes color temperature and brightness based on your room’s lighting. The monitor adapts in real time whether you’re playing in the dark or near a window. This reduces eyestrain and keeps visuals consistent. The display also provides accurate colors and low-latency HDR, meeting NVIDIA’s G-SYNC certification standards.

The monitor supports firmware updates directly from NVIDIA, so you can keep performance current. It offers detailed color customization and multiple aspect ratio options for different gaming setups.

There’s a 25 Mode that gives you pixel-perfect scaling at three specific resolutions: 2368 x 1332, 1920 x 1080, and 1280 x 960. Players who want a smaller screen format get sharp images without the blur that normally comes with non-native resolutions.

Huawei launches luxurious Smart Door Lock X1 Golden Jade Edition with 24K gold nameplate

Huawei has launched the Smart Door Lock X1 Golden Jade Edition in China, with the product now listed on Vmall. The new version features a ceramic-textured body with a jade-like finish and includes a 24K gold-plated nameplate. The lock carries a standard price of 19,999 yuan ($2,870), while the introductory price is set at 14,999 yuan ($2,152).

Huawei has also introduced a matching decorative lock for dual-door installations, priced at 6,000 yuan ($860). This accessory does not include any smart functions and is intended purely for visual consistency in villa-style entrances.

Huawei designed the Golden Jade Edition to resemble traditional Chinese palace dougong architecture. The lock supports multiple unlocking methods. It offers to unlock the door via face recognition, palm vein recognition, fingerprint recognition, passcodes, physical keys, and the Huawei Smart Life app. The lock also supports visitor passcodes and remote unlocking with dual-factor authentication.

The X1 runs on HarmonyOS 6.0 and connects via Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz) and Bluetooth 5.0. It integrates with HarmonyOS Connect, allowing interaction with Huawei Smart Screen displays, smart speakers, and other connected home devices.

The main power source is a built-in 10,000mAh lithium battery with a rated capacity of 9,500mAh. Huawei claims the battery can last approximately five to seven months under typical usage conditions. The system also includes a backup power solution using four AA batteries and a USB-C emergency charging port.

Huawei equipped the lock with a C-grade mechanical lock cylinder and a range of security features. These include virtual password input, anti-black-box unlocking, exit snapshot capture, loitering detection, a secure microkernel, and a dedicated security chip for boot authentication.

The product is compatible with standard wooden and security doors and supports all opening directions. The outdoor unit meets IPX5 standards and includes a sun-resistant coating.

iPhone 18 Pro revealed in a video with a brand new front design

A new set of renders claims to show what Apple’s next flagship phone might look like. Jon Prosser (of Front Page Tech) released a video today presenting alleged design updates for the iPhone 18 Pro, along with three possible new color options: burgundy, brown, and purple.

At first glance, the most obvious tweak is on the front of the device. According to the renders, Apple may finally be ready to shrink the long-standing pill-shaped cutout at the top of the screen.

The images suggest that some Face ID components have been moved underneath the display, allowing the company to reduce the notch area to a single hole. The front-facing camera is also shown relocated to the top left corner of the panel.

Even with these hardware changes, Prosser claims Dynamic Island isn’t going anywhere. Instead, it will move along with the selfie camera to the top-left.

Dynamic Island has been the central part of iPhones for years now, and it still will be for the iPhone 18 series. Just that, the actual space it occupies on the screen could be less intrusive.

Variable aperture camera, C2 modem, and more

The back of the phone will be getting a more technical upgrade. Prosser claims that the main camera on the iPhone 18 Pro could include a variable aperture system.

Unlike current iPhones, which rely entirely on software to simulate depth-of-field effects, a variable aperture would let the lens physically adjust how much light enters. That would make it possible to create more natural background blur and better low-light shots without leaning as heavily on digital processing.

However, this feature might not come to every model. Prosser notes that Apple could reserve the variable aperture system exclusively for the larger iPhone 18 Pro Max.

Internally, the iPhone 18 Pro is expected to bring more significant changes. The device is rumored to run on Apple’s next-generation A20 Pro chip. Just as important is the long-awaited switch to Apple’s own C2 modem.

Another small but interesting adjustment could be to the camera control button. According to the video, Apple might drop its current capacitive sensing technology and replace it with a simpler pressure-based mechanism.

As with any early leak, none of this is confirmed, and Apple’s plans could easily change before the iPhone 18 lineup is officially announced. Still, the renders offer a reasonable preview of the direction Apple might be heading with its next-generation phones.

Casio launches G-Shock Harbin City Edition watch inspired by Ice City

Casio has introduced another location-themed watch to its ever-expanding G-Shock lineup. This time the spotlight is on Harbin, the frigid capital of China’s Heilongjiang province, famous for its long winters and annual ice festivals.

The new model is officially called the Casio G-Shock GA-2100 Harbin City Edition (GA-2100AS-2APRH).

At its core, this is still the same GA-2100 that G-Shock fans already know. The watch keeps the slim octagonal case that made the 2100 series popular, along with the tough resin construction and hybrid analog-digital layout.

What makes the Harbin edition different is the visual theme built around ice and snow. Its strap has a distinctive cracked-ice pattern inspired by the way the Songhua River fractures when it first freezes each winter.

The strap also has the words “ICE CITY, on the lower band, while the back of the case is engraved with a silhouette of the city’s historic St. Sophia Cathedral. The watch head is navy blue in color, and the dial inside is in a semi-transparent blue theme.

Not just the watch, the packaging box also gets special treatment. The watch arrives in an acrylic box designed to look like a block of ice. Buyers also receive a small snowflake-shaped “G” pin as an added collectible touch.

Functionally, nothing has changed from the regular GA-2100. The Harbin edition includes an analog/digital display, world time, stopwatch, auto-calendar, double LED lights, and five alarms.

Also obvious is the fact that the watch can run for about three years on its standard battery. It is also 20 Bar water resistance, which means it can handle significant water pressure, equivalent to about 200 meters (660 feet) deep.

Casio plans to sell the GA-2100AS-2APRH in China for CNY 990 (about $142).

One from Oppo or Vivo will launch their next flagship with Dimensity 9600 in September

Both Oppo and Vivo are expected to launch their Ultra flagship phones from their current lineups in late Q1 or early Q2 2026. Once those devices arrive, we will have to wait for the next major chipset refresh before a new wave of flagships can debut.

This year, Qualcomm set the pace early by announcing the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in early September. This allowed Xiaomi to unveil the Xiaomi 17 series in the same month.

MediaTek Dimensity 9500 AnTuTu Score leaks

MediaTek, however, debuted its Dimensity 9500 late in September. As a result, phones powered by that chip, including the Oppo Find X9 and Vivo X300 series, only arrived in October.

A new report now suggests MediaTek is preparing to change that timeline.

Dimensity 9600 early refresh makes Oppo and Vivo prepare their next flagship

According to the leak, the chipmaker is planning to launch its next flagship Dimensity processor in September only. As a result, at least one brand from Oppo and Vivo could launch their new-gen flagship powered by the Dimensity 9600 in the same month.

Word for this comes from tipster Digital Chat Station, who also claims that the current-generation Oppo Find X9 Ultra and Vivo X300 Ultra will launch in April.

Xiaomi, however, will not make any changes to its launch timeline. The company is expected to unveil the standard and Pro versions of the Xiaomi 18 (name is speculative) in September, followed by the Xiaomi 18 Ultra in December.

Oppo Find X10 and Vivo X500 series launch timeframe

Xiaomi’s release of the 17 series early in September worked in its favor. September is also when Apple usually launches new iPhones.

Xiaomi going head-to-head with the iPhone 17 series by offering more competitive features helped the company win the battle in its home market.

Both the Xiaomi 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max have individually crossed the one-million-unit sales mark in China alone. Meanwhile, the iPhone has reportedly failed to make it to that list.

Vivo and Oppo bring their own set of hardware and software benefits, so it’s not much of a surprise if they want to go all-in on the competition. MediaTek’s earlier refresh for the Dimensity 9600 could give them exactly that opportunity.

Photos and Battery

The Photos app can now edit images up to 50 million pixels without losing quality. The update adds bypass charging, which works during gaming, streaming, video watching, and navigation. When you plug in your charger during these activities, power goes directly to the phone instead of the battery. This protects battery health and reduces overheating while you use the device.

Organization and Security

Drawer mode now includes “Office” and “Finance” categories to help you find apps faster. The update also includes the January 2026 Android security patch.

Private Safe Updates

Private Safe got three new features. You can browse files using a side slider, search for files inside folders, and share files stored in Private Safe.

Calling Feature

A new “Reply with SMS” switch lets you hide the SMS reply option when calls come in. Find it in Contacts, then Settings, then Answer/End calls, then Reply with SMS.

The update rolls out in batches. A small group gets it first, then more users receive it over the next few days.

Alienware Area-51 Gaming PC with AMD Ryzen 9850X3D and NVIDIA RTX 5090 Unveiled

Alienware has unveiled an updated version of its Area-51 gaming desktop at CES 2026, showcasing the latest hardware upgrades. The iconic system, originally introduced in the late 1990s and revived in 2025 with a full redesign, is set to receive further enhancements in Q1 2026, including AMD’s Ryzen 7 9850X3D processor with 3D V-Cache technology.

The 80.5-liter chassis uses a positive pressure airflow design where fans direct air inward and exhaust through passive rear vents. This configuration runs 13% cooler, 45% quieter, provides 25% more airflow, and delivers 50% more processing power than systems from five years ago.

The desktop supports AMD’s Ryzen 9000 series processors, including the 9800X3D and 9950X3D with 16 cores and 144MB cache. The AMD X870E chipset motherboard includes 10+2+2 phase voltage regulation, PCIe Gen5 support, and accepts up to 64GB DDR5-6400 memory. Graphics card compatibility extends to 450mm length and four-slot width configurations.

Graphics options include NVIDIA’s RTX 50-series from the RTX 5070 to the RTX 5090 with 32GB GDDR7. The system supports over 200W processor power and 600W graphics power.

Storage configurations range from 1TB to 12TB using three M.2 slots and three additional drive bays for 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch drives. Liquid cooling includes 240mm and 360mm radiators, with 420mm expansion available after purchase.

The system includes MediaTek Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, 2.5G ethernet, and multiple USB ports including USB4 Type-C. A tempered glass panel displays seven programmable AlienFX RGB lighting zones.

QR codes placed throughout the chassis link to video guides for system upgrades and maintenance. Power supply options include 850W Gold-rated and 1500W Platinum-rated ATX12VO units. The desktop runs Windows 11 Home or Professional with Alienware Command Center software.

Dimensions measure 610.5mm length, 231.6mm width, and 569mm height, with maximum weight of 34.5kg.

While the differences aren’t significant, the Dimensity chip should perform better during higher workloads. For day-to-day tasks like browsing the internet, scrolling through social media apps, or watching videos, both should achieve a similar performance.

AnTuTu shows a rather significant performance gap between the two chips, with the Dimensity 8350 delivering a total score that’s 39% higher than the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. The biggest difference comes from the GPU performance. The Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 scores 323,797 points in the graphics test, while the Dimensity 8350 crosses the 500K mark, a massive 72% lead.

The Snapdragon chip does score slightly higher in CPU tests, but the margin is too small to consider. Meanwhile, the Dimensity 8350 also pulls ahead in memory and UX scores.

The benchmarks show a clear advantage for the Dimensity 8350 chipset, especially in terms of GPU performance. That said, there are still some important aspects that benchmarks don’t cover, such as connectivity and the camera, which we’ll discuss in the following section.

Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 vs Dimensity 8350: Here are the key differences

Both octa-core chips have been fabbed using TSMC’s 4nm process node, although their core configurations differ. The Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 has a 1+4+3 core configuration, featuring one Cortex-A720 big core, four Cortex-A720 mid cores, and three Cortex-A520 small cores.

In contrast, the Dimensity 8350 features a 1+3+4 CPU configuration, with one Cortex-A715 big core, three Cortex-A715 mid cores, and four Cortex-A510 small cores. While the Snapdragon chip features newer cores, the Dimensity 8350 cores benefit from higher clock speed.

For graphics rendering, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 features Adreno 722, while the Dimensity 8350 has a Mali-G615 MP6 GPU. The latter features higher frequency, more pipelines, and higher computational power (FLOPS). These are among the reasons why the Dimensity 8250 achieved a much higher GPU score on AnTuTu.

Furthermore, the Dimensity chip features a higher-bit camera and supports higher camera resolution. The output, however, largely depends on the camera sensor and OEM optimizations. The Snapdragon chip may have an edge in connectivity, thanks to newer standard Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0 technologies. The Dimensity chip benefits from a higher peak download speed over a 5G connection (5.17Gbps vs 4.2Gbps).

Vivo is getting ready to expand its flagship lineup in India. The company hasn’t officially announced a date yet, but according to well-known tipster Abhishek Yadav, the Vivo X200T will launch in the country very soon.

Ahead of the launch, Yadav has now shared the full specifications and price of the smartphone.

The Vivo X200T will arrive in two storage variants in India:

12GB RAM + 256GB storage – ₹59,999
12GB RAM + 512GB storage – ₹69,999

These prices place the phone directly in competition with high-end models from Samsung, OnePlus, and iQOO.

For the price, you are getting a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution of 2800 × 1260 pixels. Powering the device will be MediaTek’s latest Dimensity 9400+ processor, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage.
