Nothing Phone (1) users have begun receiving the most recent Nothing OS 1.1.7. The update now displays the battery percentage of the AirPods, improves OS smoothness and audio quality, addresses several known problems, and includes the November security patch. For the Nothing Phone (1).

The update comes with firmware version S1.1-221121-2306, weighing about 79MB in size. The majority of users have started receiving the Nothing OS 1.1.7 update, which is being rolled out via OTA. MediaTek has been releasing new smartphone chipsets in the past few weeks, and the trend continues for the company as it is now all set to launch yet another smartphone processor in the market — MediaTek Dimensity 8200.

The company has officially confirmed thorugh a teaser poster that the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC will be announced on 1st December. The teaser hints that the chipset will be more focused on energy efficiency.

While the company has not yet confirmed this, iQOO has teased that the iQOO Neo 7 SE will be the first smartphone to come powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC, which is set to go official on 2nd December in the Chinese market.

As for the processor itself, some leaks have claimed that the chipset will come with four Cortex-A78 cores and four Cortex-A55 cores. There will be one A78 core clocked at 3.1GHz, three A78 cores at 3.0GHz, and four efficient cores A55 at 2.0GHz. It will continue to have the Mali-G610 MC6 GPU found on the Dimensity 8100.

The iQOO Neo 7 SE, which is set to be the first device to run Dimensity 8200, is expected to feature a 6.78-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz screen resolution, a 5,000mAh battery, and 120W fast charging. Apart from iQOO, Redmi is also expected to soon launch a smartphone powered by this new upcoming chipset.

Oppo A1 Pro debuted as the company’s most powerful A-series phone in China last week. Since then, it has been available for pre-order. As was said at the launch, the device can be bought in the home market starting today. It has a 16MP camera on the front for selfies and video calls. On the back, it has a 108-megapixel main camera, a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and an LED flash unit.

The Snapdragon 695 SoC, LPDDR4x RAM, and UFS 2.2 storage power up the OPPO A1 Pro. It gets its power from a 4,800mAh battery that supports 67W charging. It runs ColorOS 13, which is based on Android 13.

Other features of the device include an under-display fingerprint scanner, dual stereo speakers, a microSD card slot, NFC, dual SIM support, 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, and a USB-C port. The device weighs 171 grams and has a thickness of 7.7mm.

We know that Vivo is gearing up to launch a new entry-level smartphone soon. Multiple leaks from earlier have revealed the design, specs, and pricing of the device in India. Now, a new report has surfaced that reveals the design of the Vivo Y02 in better detail and also unveils its launch date.

The report comes from MySmartPrice, which cites known tipster Paras Guglani as the source. It reveals the complete design of the Vivo Y02, revealing a water drop at the top of the display, along with thick bezels around the top and bottom of the smartphone’s screen. A rectangular camera module with a sizable circular cutout is located on the back. The smartphone will have a single camera sensor and an LED flash module on the back.

A poster for the Vivo Y2 confirms that it will feature 3GB of RAM, a 5,000mAh battery, and will launch on November 28th. The phone most likely has a plastic back and frame. On the right edge of the phone, it houses the power and volume buttons. At the bottom edge is where you’ll find the 3.5mm headphone jack.

Other information relating to the phone has previously emerged. According to reports, it has an HD+ resolution 6.51-inch Halo FullView IPS LCD. A single 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera sensor will be included.

The phone will have 32GB of internal storage and support microSD card expansion. A MediaTek Helio P22 SoC will be found inside. Funtouch OS 12 based on Android 12 is most likely what the device comes pre-installed with. According to Vivo, the phone would be on sale for Rs 8,449 in India. The launch date for India is not yet revealed.

Brazil seizes iPhones from retail stores as Apple fails to comply with charger requirement

A couple of months ago, the Brazilian Ministry of Justice ordered the suspension of iPhone sales in the country after it concluded that Apple harms consumers by not offering the power adapter when they purchase the device. Even after the company was slapped with a million-dollar fine, it is still not complying with the order.

Now, the regulator for Federal District-based consumer protection has seized Apple iPhones from retailers or retail stores as the technology giant failed to comply with the requirements.

A report by Technoblog reveals that Procon-DF has seized hundreds of Apple iPhones from different retail stores in Brasilia, Brazil. It added that as a part of “Operation Discharge,” the regulator plans to force Apple to comply with the local law that requires smartphones to be shipped with a charger in the box.

It further adds that the regulator is seizing devices from the carrier stores and authorized Apple retailers. It is only seizing the devices that come without a charger in the box, followed by a decision from the Ministry of Justice to block Apple from selling iPhones in Brazil without chargers included.

For those who are unaware, Apple stopped including a charger in the box with the iPhone 12 series, but the company also updated iPhone 11 series retail box to come without a charger.

After the devices were seized, Apple Brazil requested the government to allow sales of smartphones in the country until the final decision is pending as the company has filed an appeal. Although the company says it is confident of winning the legal battle, its action suggests otherwise. The newly launched Apple TV 4K comes with a USB-C charger in the box, but the company doesn’t reveal a reason behind this.

The Find N2 and Find N2 Flip foldable phones from OPPO should be shown off at the INNO Day 2022 event in December. Recently, iQOO confirmed that it will hold its next launch event to announce the iQOO 11 series on Dec. 2 in China. Design and build

The Oxa breathing wearable has been launched via a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter. The latest product from Swiss company Nanoleq features real-time biofeedback for health metrics like breathing depth and speed.

The Oxa breathing wearable is claimed to be the first wearable dedicated to exploring breathing from several dimensions. It allows the user to understand the effects of your respiration patterns on the body and the mind. The Oxa breathing wearable provides biometric information across a wide range of metrics. Apart from monitoring your breathing speed and depth, the Oxa provides heart rate tracking and sleep monitoring. The wearable is clipped into a specially-made shirt or bra and worn for it to take measurements. Nanoleq has deployed gamification to teach users of the breathing wearable how to optimize their breathing.

The companion app of the Oxa breathing wearable provides practice breathing techniques that could improve overall body functions. The guided exercises accessed through the app are tailored to your specific breathing and health needs. It can also provide visual prompts or soundscapes for deeper relaxation. The device is claimed to be capable of reducing your stress over time.

The Kickstarter campaign for the Oxa breathing wearable requires a minimum pledge of €239 (~ $249). Aqara has unveiled the Cube T1 Pro Controller with HomeKit and Alexa support. The new product comes on the heels of the release of the Smart Feeder for Pets. It retains the features of the previous model as well as additional actions like push, shake, rotate and tap. The new upgrade features a scene mode for seamless controlling of the scenes. The new Aqara controller’s versatility is the major highlight of the product.

The Aqara Cube T1 Pro controller supports HomeKit, Alexa, and Matter via the Aqara hub. The Aqara Hub M2 will subsequently receive an OTA update to accommodate support for Matter. The new product enables a more elegant way of controlling the HomeKit environment. Because the Scene Mode allows you to use each side to control various devices, flipping to side 1 or side 2 enables an activity like the Cinema scene or the morning routine. It can also control multiple sets of curtains or roller shades by rotating the Aqara Cube T1 Pro in the Aqara Home app. A flip+rotation in Side 3 will adjust the open percentage of the curtains while turning it around will dim your Aqara lights.

Following Apple and Huawei’s lead, Samsung is also reportedly planning to add a satellite communication feature to the upcoming Galaxy S23 series. The Korean firm is said to be partnering with Iridium, a global satellite communications company, to transmit data such as text messages and low-capacity images via satellite.

South Korean publication Etnews claims Samsung is preparing to introduce satellite communication feature to upcoming Galaxy S23 smartphones with an aim to transmit data such as text messages and low-capacity images at hundreds of kbps.

The publication says, “Over the past two years, Samsung has worked hard to overcome satellite communication’s technological challenges.” It will reportedly be teaming up with Iridium, which is a well-established satellite communications company based in the US. Iridium provides voice and data communication services in outer space using 66 low-Earth orbit communication satellites.

To enable voice and high-speed data communication via satellite, a large antenna (RF) is required, but it is probably the last thing anyone would want to see in a modern-day smartphone. So, the biggest challenge involved with Sat-com is to make an antenna that doesn’t strike out. Etnews says Samsung is done with this part.

In addition, the technology to integrate mobile and satellite communication modems to process digital data is also reported to be largely completed. Samsung is yet to confirm any details about this new feature.

As mentioned, Huawei and Apple have already introduced the satellite communication feature with their latest flagships. iPhone 14 users in the US and Canada can use this new feature to communicate with emergency services when cellular reception is not available. The Cupertino company says in ideal conditions with a direct view of the sky and the horizon, a message sent via Sat-com might take 15 seconds to send, and over a minute to send under trees with light or medium foliage.

Several videos were posted on social media, with one showing workers pushing past barricades as witnesses chanted “fight, fight” in the background. Several workers were injured at the plant responsible for producing 50% of iPhones sold worldwide. Lastly, Foxconn offers workers $1,400 to stop protesting and leave the factory.

After the events escalated, Foxconn took action to end the protests. The company has offered workers a $1,400 (10,000 yuan) settlement in an attempt to end protests at the facility. According to the information received, this is a money equivalent to approximately two months’ salary of these workers.

Foxconn offered 8,000 yuan ($1,120) to workers who agreed to quit their positions at the factory, and another 2,000 yuan (around $280) after they boarded buses to depart the facility. The offer was made by the human resources department of the company by sending a text message. However, the problem that caused the workers’ revolt in the first place was the already delayed bonus payments. So, it is unknown whether the employees accepted the offer or not. Still, the Apple supplier has apologized, claiming that the miscommunication on share was the result of a ‘technical error’.

Foxconn factory was forced to lock down in October following a covid outbreak because of China’s strict “zero-covid” policy. Since than the company prevented assembly line workers from leaving the factory surroundings and forced workers to consume their meals inside dorm rooms instead of eating in the dining room. In fact, some employees, tired of the restrictions, secretly escaped from the factory and resigned.

Two New Vivo Smartphones Get 3C Certified With 80W Fast Charging

Vivo recently launched the flagship X90 series, which comprises the top-of-the-line Vivo X90 Pro+, X90 Pro, and the standard X90. The X90 Pro+ is the star of the show, as it debuted as the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-equipped handset and features some serious camera tech. Now, it seems the company has two new smartphones, likely mid-rangers, in the works. The mysterious handsets have bagged 3C certification, hinting they might debut soon. Here are the details.

Two unknown Vivo smartphones with model numbers V2245A and V2244A have bagged China’s compulsory 3C certification (via ITHome). Both of these handsets are listed to support 80W fast charging. The 3C listing did not reveal any other details about these models, but it tells us they are in the line of launch soon.

The official names of these handsets are not known yet. However, we can expect them to debut as mid-range handsets. More details about these unknown Vivo devices should emerge soon. We’ll keep you posted.

As mentioned earlier, Vivo recently launched its flagship X90 series. The most premium device in the series— Vivo X90 Pro+ — comes with Qualcomm’s latest and greatest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and promises an impressive performance.

The highlight of the phone is its camera setup. It features a 1-inch Sony IMX989 50MP primary sensor with an f/1.75 aperture. There’s also a 48MP Sony IMX598 ultra-wide lens, a 50MP Sony IMX758 portrait unit with OIS support, and a 64MP periscope zoom lens with a 90mm focal length and 10x optical zoom.

It packs a 4,700mAh battery with 80W and 50W wired and wireless charging respectively, which is strange because the Pro model supports 120W wired charging. The X90 Pro+ comes with a starting price of 6,999 yuan (~$980).
