A new report has revealed that the upcoming features on the Google Messages app will allow users to view voice memo transcripts, respond to messages with any emoji they like, and more. So let’s take a look at these features in more detail.

Voice Message Transcripts

Whether you’re chatting via RCS or SMS/MMS in Google Messages, you can create an audio message to send to the other user. However, it might not always be convenient for the recipient to hear to an audio message. To tackle this, Google will be including Voice Message Transcript in Google Messages soon. Users will get an option to automatically transcribe the audio messages as they come in or they can do so manually for individual messages.

The transcriptions in Google Messages appear to be generally accurate, including automatic punctuation based on pauses and voice tone.

Full Emoji Reactions

Google is attempting to enhance RCS chat responses. Google Messages has a test feature that allows you to respond with any emoji. The “add emoji” signal has taken the role of the thumbs-down emoji.

To respond to a message, tap this button to see your Android device’s whole selection of emojis. Testes over at 9To5Goolge were able to send each other emoji reactions showing that the customized emoji reactions function works on the receiving end even when the option is disabled.

Revamped Gallery View

The photo gallery in Google Messages may be revamped. The app allows you to take photos while you’re on the go and displays a grid of your most recent screenshots and photos horizontally.

Now, users can scroll vertically across photographs, making better use of the entire screen. “Folders” is a similar experience that takes the place of “Gallery.” The updated photo gallery in Google Messages, particularly its floating action buttons, is in line with Material You Design.

The Realme 10 Pro has a 108-megapixel (main) + 2-megapixel (macro) dual-camera setup. On the front, it has a 16-megapixel selfie camera. It houses a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support.

The Realme 10 Pro+ 5G has a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with curved edges. It produces Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The Dimensity 1080 chip powers the device with up to 12 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 2.2 storage.

It is equipped with a 16-megapixel front-facing camera. On the back, it has a 108-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide snapper, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. The 5,000mAh battery of the device supports 67W fast charging.

In China, the Realme 10 Pro series runs on the latest Realme UI 4.0 and Android 13 OS. It remains to be seen whether the global models will also come preloaded with the latest software.

It’s been a few months since Apple launched the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro series smartphones in the market. Its successor, the iPhone 15 lineup is almost a year away from getting announced, but rumors about the upcoming series have already started surfacing online.

In the latest development, according to research firm Barclays, Apple supplier Cirrus Logic may have hinted at the Cupertino-based technology giant adopting solid-state touch-based buttons on iPhones next year.

The report adds that Cirrus Logic has a sent a letter to shareholders this month in which the company said that it continues to engage with a “strategic customer” and expects to bring a new HPMS component to the smartphones market next year.

HPMS stands for Cirrus Logic’s high-performance mixed-signal chips, which include haptic drivers for the Taptic Engine used in Apple iPhones. Earlier, the company’s CEO John Forsyth had said that the timeframe for this new component coming to the market will be the “back half of next year,” which means the second half.

The launch of this new component in the later half of 2023 falls within the timeframe for the launch of iPhone 15 Pro models from Apple, which should happen in September next year.

This new development regarding touch-based buttons for the iPhones comes just a month after well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that the iPhone 15 Pro models will feature solid-state volume and power buttons. He added that the phones will be equipped with two additional Taptic Engines to provide haptic feedback to simulate the feeling of pressing the buttons.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra from Samsung is turning out to be quite an interesting device despite many claims that it won’t feature any major changes from the existing S22 Ultra. We already know that the smartphone will come equipped with an exclusive overclocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, with higher CPU and GPU clock speeds than the regular model.

Now, Twitter user @RGcloudS has leaked some details regarding the display panel of the Galaxy S23 Ultra. According to the tweet, The maximum brightness of the AMOLED display may be in the realm of 2,100 to 2,200 nits+, and its touch sampling rate may be set at 960 Hz. It is believed to have a PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) frequency of about 2,000 Hz. Last but not least, the Galaxy S23 Ultra’s screen reportedly uses 45% less power than its predecessor.

Going by these metrics, it appears that Samsung is planning to outclass the iPhone 14 Pro models in terms of brightness. To recall, the Apple flagships have a peak brightness of 2,000 nits. According to Dylan Raga, a display specialist for XDA Developers, the Galaxy S23 Ultra might not take the crown just yet. Dylan claims that the OLED emitters used in both displays are identical and that the peak brightness tests used by Samsung and Apple are different. While the latter’s screen is set to around 25% APL, the former’s is at 1% APL (Average Picture Level). The iPhone 14 Pro’s maximum brightness is 2300 nits at 1% APL (via).

Relatedly, a recent report leaked the details regarding the camera setup on the upcoming Samsung flagship. According to the report, the Galaxy S23 Ultra will have a 200-megapixel sensor primary sensor, accompanied by a 10-megapixel 10x zoom sensor and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens. In a new teaser poster shared by the company, ZTE has revealed the build material of the upcoming flagship smartphone and has also detailed some of the design processors.

As for the front side, it has now been confirmed that the smartphone will feature a third-generation of under-display camera technology, which is also found on the Axon 40 Ultra. We expect the phone to come with a similar set of specifications as the 40 Ultra, except for the memory, which will be increased to 18GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.

The ZTE Axon 40 Ultra, which was launched a few months ago, features a 6.81-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD+ screen resolution of 2480 x 1116 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, and an in-display fingerprint sensor.

In the camera department, there’s also a 16-megapixel under-display camera with 2.24μm large pixels, and it uses a third-generation of under-display camera from ZTE. On the back, there’s a triple-camera setup consisting of a 64MP Sony IMX787 primary sensor, another 64MP Sony IMX787 sensor, and a 64MP telephoto periscope lens.

The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset and has a dual-channel VC liquid cooling system. The smartphone runs the Android 12 operating system out-of-the-box with the company’s own MyOS 12 custom interface on top and is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 80W fast charging.

A few days ago, Realme announced the Realme 10 series smartphones in its home country China. Now, from that lineup, two smartphones — Realme 10 Pro and Realme 10 Pro+ are going on sale in China.

The newly announced Realme 10 Pro and Pro+ are now available for purchase in the Chinese market for the starting price of 1,599 yuan which roughly converts to $224.

The base model of Realme 10 Pro+ with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage is priced at 1,699 yuan (~$238), while the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model costs 1,999 yuan (~$280). There’s also a 12GB RAM model with 256GB of internal storage for the price of 2,299 yuan (~$322).

On the other hand, the 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage model of the Realme 10 Pro is priced at 1,599 yuan (~$224), while the 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage model costs 1,899 yuan (~$265).

Coming to the specifications, while the Realme 10 Pro features a 6.7-inch LCD display with a Full HD+ screen resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, the Pro+ model has a 6.7-inch AMOLED Full HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and 93.64% screen-to-body ratio.

In fact, some employees, tired of the restrictions, secretly escaped from the factory and resigned.

After the incidents, Apple admitted that the lack of workers was going to lead to shortages of iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models during the holiday season. Unfortunately, even though Foxconn offered bonuses to returning workers and promised to improve conditions, it wasn’t enough.

On Wednesday, over 100 Foxconn workers were seen pushing past outnumbered guards. Several videos were posted on social media, with one showing workers pushing past barricades as witnesses chanted “fight, fight” in the background. Another video showed a person wearing a white hazmat suit hitting a man on the ground with a stick. Several workers were injured at the plant responsible for producing 50% of iPhones sold worldwide. Neither Apple nor Foxconn have responded to requests for comments.

Attention Computer Users: Your Personal Informations is in Danger

When your computer or phone breaks down, the first thing most of us do is take it to the repair shop. However, even this simple act poses a risk to your personal data. A new study has revealed the answer to the question, “is it dangerous to take the computer to the repair shop?” It found that privacy violations occurred at least 50 percent of the time, not surprisingly, female customers are more at risk.

Taking the computer to the repair shop is a lot riskier than you think

Researchers at the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada, recovered logs from laptops after receiving overnight repairs from 12 commercial shops. The logs showed that technicians from six of the locations had accessed personal data and that two of those shops also copied data onto a personal device. Unfortunately, women’s computers became the main target of “so called repairmen”.

Snooping tended to seek more sensitive data, like sexually revealing media files and financial information. Unfortunately, even ordinary photos and videos became targets of criminals. “We were blown away by the results,” Hassan Khan, one of the researchers, said in an interview. Especially concerning, he said, was the copying of data, which happened during repairs for one from a male customer and the other from a female. “We thought they would just look at [the data] at most.”

Here’s a breakdown of the six visits that resulted in snooping:

The laptops were freshly imaged Windows 10 machines, and all were free of malware and other defects and in perfect working condition, except that the audio driver was disabled on purpose. Half of the laptops were configured to appear as if they belonged to a male and the other half to a female. In all, the findings from the study were:

• Privacy policies and the practice of communicating protocols and controls to protect customers’ data do not exist across service providers of all sizes.
• Service providers largely (10/11) require “all access” to the device, even when it is unnecessary.
• Technicians often snoop on customers’ data (6/16) and sometimes copy those to external devices (2/16).
• Technicians who violate privacy often do so carefully to not generate evidence (1/6) or remove such evidence (3/6).
• A significant proportion of broken devices (26/79, 33 percent) are not repaired due to privacy concerns. For the devices that get repaired, device owners are concerned about threats to their privacy but do not use the proper controls to protect their data.

Although it is difficult to avoid this problem, there are methods you can apply. First of all, try to get reliable and official services, this will not completely eliminate the risk, but it will reduce it significantly. Second and most importantly, you must protect your computer and files with a password. According to research, many businesses ask their customers for passwords. However, if you have sensitive information in it, it’s best not to share it.

iQOO 11 Official Render Appears as Landing Goes Live Before December 2 Launch

iQOO 11 landing page is now live on iQOO China’s website. The official page had surfaced yesterday, but it was removed for reasons best known to the company. iQOO will unveil the iQOO 11 series on Dec. 2 in China and Malaysia.

The iQOO 11 series launch event will be held on Dec. 2 at 2:30 pm (local time) in China. The handset shown here with a flat display is the iQOO 11. It can be seen sporting a triple camera unit with a Vivo V2 ISP on the back. It is a colour edition inspired by BMW M Motorsport. It has a white back with a three-colour stripe on it.

The iQOO 11 Pro is likely to sport a similar rear design. However, it will be equipped with a curved edge display on the front. Here is a teaser video for the upcoming iQOO 11 series.

iQOO 11 Specifications (Rumored)

Reports have revealed that the iQOO 11 will have a 6.78-inch AMOLED display that offers a resolution of 3200 x 1440 pixels, a 144Hz refresh rate, a 300Hz touch sampling rate, and an independent display chip. It will feature a 16-megapixel front-facing camera. The rear camera setup of the iQOO 11 will comprise a 50-megapixel main camera, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and an 8-megapixel macro camera.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will be powered by LPDDR5x RAM, UFS 4.0 storage, and a 5,000mAh battery with 120W fast charging support. The device will run on Android 13 OS with OriginOS 3 on top. It will come with other features like NFC and an in-screen fingerprint scanner.

The rumor mill is yet to leak accurate specs for the iQOO 11 Pro. However, it is expected to arrive with a curved edge display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, better cameras, and a 4,700mAh battery with 200W fast charging.

Mercedes, the world’s renowned German carmaker has recently made international news because the company has quietly introduced a new upcoming subscription service that will charge Mercedes owners US$1200 (excluding taxes) per year to make their cars accelerate faster.

The subscription, listed on the company’s official North American market website, is not too subtly named “Acceleration Increase” and is coming soon to the brand’s Mercedes-EQ lineup of electric vehicles.

Acceleration Increase will bring subscribed Mercedes owners the privilege of their car’s full unleashed performance. Mercedes claims that with Acceleration Increase, subscribed owners will see a noticeable improvement in the acceleration in their currently owned Mercedes vehicles, specifically time saved of within 0.8 to 1.0 seconds(0-60 MPH).

Per Mercedes’ marketing material, Acceleration Increase also allows for the adjustment of the motor characteristic curve, torque and maximum output. Fine-tuning the electric motors increases the maximum motor output (kW) of owners’ Mercedes-EQ vehicles by up to 24%. In addition, the torque is also increased with the subscription, enabling your vehicle to accelerate noticeably faster and more powerfully.

Mercedes also published the company’s findings of improvements between paying and non-paying Mercedes-EQ electric vehicle owners. The table is shown below:

The subscription model sounds great on paper. Until you realise that these promised features that the annual subscription brings, are actually all features already available on the built-in electric motors of the Mercedes-EQ electric cars, but locked behind a paywall that requires money to unlock the vehicle’s faster acceleration.

In other words, non-paying Mercedes-EQ buyers and owners will have to relegate themselves to an inferior driving experience compared to annually-paying owners, because Mercedes will soon have acceleration-capped their driving experience behind the company’s outrageously expensive US$1200 annual paywall.

This is not the first time this decade that a famous car brand has gotten itself into a controversy after introducing a subscription service to its existing owners. BMW had previously also tried (and failed) to charge its owners US$80 a month to access Apple CarPlay and Android Auto — software features which other carmakers have included for its customers for free.

Design

The Realme 10 Pro+ is not only a more beautiful device than the Realme 10 Pro but also one of the most beautiful smartphones launched this year. It has a very thin body and a curved screen at the edges, as well as very narrow bezels around the display. On the rear side, there is a stunning texture for the glass back and a minimalistic camera module composed of two circles. Besides being thin and beautiful, this phone is also very lightweight as it weighs just 173 grams. It is so beautiful that it almost looks like a flagship and I like it even more than the Realme GT 2 Pro. The Realme 10 Pro has a flat design, with flat borders like iPhones and a flat display. It is definitely less impressive, but it is not an ugly phone and it is very elegant.

Display

Besides having a better design, the Realme 10 Pro Plus sports a superior display. It is an AMOLED panel able to show up to one billion colors with a diagonal of 6.7 inches, a Full HD Plus resolution of 1080 x 2412 pixels, HDR10+ certification, a 120 Hz refresh rate, a brightness of 800 nits, and an in-display fingerprint scanner. It shows more brilliant colors and very deep blacks, and it is definitely one of the most advanced panels in the midrange segment. Unfortunately, the Realme 10 Pro has an IPS LCD display, so you can not expect a comparable image quality. It is a display with a diagonal of 6.72 inches, a Full HD Plus resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 680 nits. The fingerprint reader in this case is side-mounted, on the power key.

Specs & Software

With the Realme 10 Pro Plus, you can get a more advanced hardware department thanks to the presence of a better processor. The chipset we are talking about is the Dimensity 1080 by MediaTek, built with a 6 nm production process and sporting an octa-core architecture. This SoC is composed of two Cortex A78 CPUs running at a max frequency of 2.6 GHz, six Cortex A55 CPUs running at 2 GHz, and a Mali G68 MC4 GPU. Alongside the chipset, there are up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS internal storage. You can get the same memory configuration with the Realme 10 Pro, but with an inferior chipset: the Snapdragon 695 5G, built with a 6 nm production process and sporting an octa-core architecture with a max frequency of 2.2 GHz. The operating system installed on these two phones is Android 13, customized by Realme UI 4.0.

Camera

The Realme 10 Pro+ wins the comparison even when it comes to the cameras. These phones are both equipped with a 108 MP main sensor and a 2 MP macro shooter, but the Pro Plus variant adds an additional ultrawide sensor with a resolution of 8 MP. The front cameras are exactly the same with a resolution of 16 MP and an f/2.5 focal aperture.

Battery

The Realme 10 Pro and the Pro Plus have the same battery capacity: 5000 mAh. But the Realme 10 Pro+ is able to provide longer battery life thanks to the presence of a more efficient display, as it has an AMOLED panel instead of an IPS one. Further, it charges quicker thanks to 67W fast charging instead of just 33W.

Price

Realme 10 Pro starts from €220/$224 at the actual change (8/256 GB), while you need at least €230/$238 for the Pro Plus (8/128 GB). Which one would you pick?

The latest addition to the DJI Mavic 3 lineup is the impressive Mavic 3M drone with multispectral imaging capabilities. It joins the Mavic 3, Mavic 3 Cine, Mavic 3 Enterprise, and Mavic 3 Classic in the lineup. The Mavic 3M is capable of capturing detailed crop growth information and is a perfect drone for precision agriculture purposes.

The Mavic 3M is DJI’s flagship consumer drone. It weighs 0.95kg and is compact enough to be folded and kept inside a bag for immediate deployment anytime and anywhere. The new drone has a battery life of 43 minutes which means that it can cover up to 2 square kilometers on a full charge. The DJI Mavic 3M uses a two-in-one camera system to gather important information that could positively impact a farmer’s operations. The camera system consists of an RGB camera with a 4/3-inch CMOS and a 20MP image sensor. It has a mechanical shutter with a maximum speed of 1/2000. There is also a four-lens multispectral camera with excellent image-sensing capabilities. It provides a more detailed view of crop conditions better than what the human eyes can observe.

The DJI Mavic 3M is well-suited for high-precision aerial surveys, crop growth monitoring, natural resource surveys, and other connected applications. The drone has an accompanying app that delivers additional features like automatic field scouting to detect crop abnormalities. The Mavic 3M is quite versatile and a single drone could be used to monitor up to 70 hectares of land. The drone includes an RTK module for accurate positioning.

According to DJI, the launch of the Mavic 3 Multispectral will help farmers to improve the quality and efficiency of their production, reduce costs, and generally promote the development of modern agriculture. The drone, its camera, and the RTK module are synchronized to accurately obtain imaging positions and do not require ground control points when surveying. The Mavic 3M is also equipped with O3 video transmission with a transmission distance of up to 15km.

The latest Mavic 3 iteration is equipped with omnidirectional obstacle sensing for an obstacle-free flight. DJI is yet to announce the price of the impressive Mavic 3M, but hints that it will be limited to certain countries. We expect more details to be released soon for the DJI Mavic 3 Multispectral imaging drone.

A New Poco Smartphone Spotted on EEC Certification Site, Could Launch Soon

Poco is gearing up to launch the affordable Poco C50 in India. The company confirmed that the handset will debut in the last week of November. The Chinese OEM is also reported to be working on the successor of the Poco F4 and X4. That’s not it; today, an unknown Poco smartphone with model number 23049PCD8G has been spotted on the EEC website, hinting at an imminent launch. Here are the details.

Tipster Mukul Sharma has spotted a mysterious Poco smartphone on the EEC certification site with model number 23049PCD8G. Apart from the model number, there are no other specifics known about the device yet. But it tells us the handset may launch soon.

The official name of the listed handset is not known yet. We are not sure if it will be a budget or mid-range smartphone. More details about the unknown Poco smartphone should emerge soon. We’ll keep you posted.

In related news, Poco will be launching the Poco C50 in India later this month. The device is rumored to be a rebranded Redmi A1+, which launched recently. It will likely have a 6.5-inch IPS LCD panel with a waterdrop notch and an HD+ resolution.

It could have a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and pack a 5MP front-facing camera. On the back, Poco C50 is expected to have an 8MP + 0.08MP dual camera setup. The handset could be powered by the Helio A22 chip paired with 2GB / 3GB of RAM. Both variants will likely offer 32GB of onboard storage.

Poco C50 could be fueled by a 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging. On the software front, the upcoming device may run Android 12 (Go edition).

Honor Pad V7 Pro debuted last year with the MediaTek Kompanio 1300T 5G processor, an 11-inch IPS LCD with 2.5K resolution, a 7250 mAh battery, and much more. Now the company is readying the successor of the V7 Pro. The Chinese OEM has started teasing the launch of the upcoming Honor Pad V8 Pro. The tablet will debut sometime in December. Here are the details.

Honor recently posted a teaser video on Weibo, revealing the design and color options of the forthcoming Honor Pad V8 Pro. The new tablet can be seen to have a narrow frame design with a very high screen-to-body ratio. It has a front-facing camera in the middle of the side frame. On the back, it has a cylindrical camera module that features the sole rear camera and the LED flash.

The teaser suggests the device will be available in at least two colors—Blue and Orange. It will come with stylus and keyboard support. Further, the tablet will be running Honor’s latest MagicOS 7.0, which comes with significant upgrades and new features. The software enables seamless collaboration across devices and multitasking.

The company did not shed any light on the specifications and pricing of the upcoming device. Also, the exact launch date of the Honor Pad V8 Pro is yet to be announced. We should learn more about it in the coming days.

To recall, the Honor Pad V7 Pro debuted with an 11-inch IPS LCD display that offers a Quad HD+ resolution as well as a 120 Hz refresh rate. It has a dual camera, including a 13 MP main sensor and a 2 MP macro camera. It is currently available for 1999 yuan, which roughly converts to $279.

iQOO recently confirmed it will be launching the vanilla iQOO 11 in Malaysia on December 2, and it’s possible the Pro model may tag along. While we wait for an official confirmation, the iQOO 11 Pro has popped up on the Geekbench benchmarking site with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and 16GB RAM. Here are the details.

iQOO 11 Pro with model number I2212 has appeared on Geekbench 5 database (via MySmartPrice). The listing suggests the handset will come with 16GB of RAM and will be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm processor with the codename “kalama.”

The processor can be seen to have a prime CPU core with a maximum clock speed of 3.19GHz, four cores at 2.80GHz, and three cores at 2.02GHz. This indicates the handset will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest and greatest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.

Further, the listing hints that the iQOO 11 Pro features an integrated Adreno 740 GPU and will run Android 13 out of the box. It has received a single-core performance score of 1,466 points and a multi-core performance score of 4,686 points.

Previous reports suggest the 11 Pro will come with a 6.78-inch E6 AMOLED display with a 2K resolution and 144Hz refresh rate support. It could feature an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner under the display.

The handset may sport a quad-rear camera setup, comprising a 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP secondary lens, a 48MP sensor, and a 64MP lens. For selfies, it could feature a 32MP sensor. The smartphone is also said to be equipped with a V2 imaging chip, which is also found in the Vivo X90 series. It may pack a 4,700mAh battery with 200W wired charging and 50W wireless support.
