TECNO CAMON 19 Pro Mondrian Edition with Polychromatic Photoisomer panel to launch in India

Smartphone designs haven’t evolved a lot over the past few years, but we have seen brands like vivo and Nothing that have tried to differentiate their phone’s design with unique rear panels. We have seen phones from OPPO and vivo change their colors when you expose them to sunlight or more specifically UV rays. Now TECNO joins this club with the debut of its CAMON 19 Pro Mondrian edition which features a unique technology that can change its color to multiple shades from plain white. TECNO describes it as a “light chasing” experience.

Tecno CAMON 19 Pro Polychromatic Photoisomer Technology

From the official renders, we can see multiple rectangular blocks on the back. Under normal conditions, the back features a plain white color, however, when exposed to sunlight, the different blocks change from white to different colors. To recall, phones like the Vivo V25 Pro can only change its color from one shade to the other. This makes the Camon 19 Pro Mondrian edition’s design one of a kind in this industry. Clearly, this color-changing design is going to be one of the biggest selling points of the device at launch.

Phones from brands like OPPO and Vivo that feature similar color-changing technologies rely on Fluorite AG glass. But in the case of the Camon 19 Pro Mondrian edition, it features a unique Polychromatic photoisomer technology. The phone relies on the recovery and breakage effect of the chain of photosynthesis molecular bonds under ultraviolet light, making the colorless molecular groups chromogenic and reverting to being colorless. To achieve this result, the phone has to go through 22 steps with the final product having the ability to change its color into multiple shades and also reverting back to being colorless. TECNO adds that the phone underwent 500 iterations until the resulting design was finalized.

TECNO also revealed a teaser video of the Camon 19 Pro Mondrian edition’s color-changing technology a few months ago. You can check it out down below.

In case you are wondering, the Camon 19 Pro Mondrian edition gets its name from the revered Dutch artist Piet Mondrian, a painter and art theoretician who is regarded as one of the greatest artists of the 20th century. Mondrian is known for his work on abstract art and intruding figurative paintings.

The CAMON 19 Pro Mondrian edition has also bagged multiple awards like the USA Muse design award and the A’ Design Award from Italy, an award that recognizes the best design concepts and products.

Tecno-Camon-19-Pro-Mondrian-Edition

The phone is confirmed to launch in India later this month but an exact date hasn’t been revealed yet. It is said that the device will have identical specs to the standard CAMON 19 Pro model, but with this unique color-changing back panel.

Tecno Camon 19 Pro Mondrian Edition Specifications

Like the regular CAMON 19 Pro, the Mondrian edition is also expected to feature a 6.8-inch tall IPS LCD display with FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. A mid-range MediaTek Helio G96 chip is expected to power this device with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of ROM.

As for the camera specs, the phone will likely come with a triple camera setup consisting of a 64MP primary camera with OIS, a 50MP portrait shooter, and a 2MP macro camera. On the front, a large 32MP is expected to take care of the user’s selfie needs. Finally, for battery, the phone should feature a 5000mAh battery like the regular edition with 33W fast charging support.

Vivo X Fold S spotted on Geekbench with Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 Soc, launch imminent

Vivo X Fold S was recently spotted on China’s 3C certification site, which confirmed the device will support up to 80W fast charging. Today, the device has visited Geekbench benchmarking site, hinting at a few key specs. The listing reveals the foldable will be equipped with Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. Moreover, it is rumored to feature up to 12GB of RAM, an improved battery, a 50-megapixel telephoto camera, and a high-resolution display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

The device’s motherboard is having codename ‘taro’, which is associated with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 chipset. The chipset is having four cores running at 2.02GHz, three at 2.75GHz, and one prime core with a 3.19GHz clock speed.

The processor is paired with Adreno 730 GPU. The listing shows the phone would offer 11.01GB of RAM. This translates to 12GB RAM on paper. The phone could also come with other storage variants. The foldable is listed to run Android 12 OS out of the box. It may also have a customized UI on top.

The Vivo X Fold S smartphone has scored 1,319 points in the single-core round and 4,045 points in the multi-core tests.

Previous reports suggest the device will come with a 4,700mAh battery and support up to 80W wired and 50W wireless charging. Apple aims to make negative space between two cutouts pure Black on iPhone 14 Pro when turned on

Apple’s next-generation flagship iPhone 14 series is just six days away and will launch on September 7th. The lineup is expected to consist of two non-Pro and two Pro iPhone 14 models. As per leaks and rumours, the latter is said to come with a redesigned notch i.e. with a hole-punch and pill-shaped cutouts.

iPhone 14 Pro

Now, in the latest development as per MacRumours citing an anonymous tipster, the iPhone 14 Pro’s dual cutouts on the display could appear as one long pill-shaped cutout. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman also corroborated the report.

The rumour about the latest development is said to have originated from Foxconn employees, one of Apple’s manufacturing partners involved in the production of the iPhone 14 Pro. As mentioned earlier, the Pro variants will come with a pill-shaped cutout on the left side and a punch-hole cutout beside it. A small space between them will separate both. The cutouts will accommodate Apple’s facial recognition system and a front camera sensor.

MacRumors reports that the two cutouts will appear as one and look like one wide pill-shaped cutout when the screen is turned on. Apple seems to have turned off the pixels from the display’s negative space. The report also claims that the areas between the cutouts will be reserved for displaying privacy indicators that arrived on iOS 14. It will show the microphone and video cameras actively (green and orange dots) actively being used by an app on the device. Bloomberg’s Gurman also said that the separation would look odd during use and the wide pill-shaped cutout will be less obtrusive while consuming content.

Additionally, MacRumours source states that the camera layout is also expected to be updated. The flash and live photo button will be located in the status bar while other settings will be located below the cutout. The expanded cutout could also show pixels while receiving notifications.

Xiaomi Smart Band 7 Pro may soon launch in Europe

At the Xiaomi 12S series launch event in China, the company debuted Xiaomi Band 7 Pro. The wearable is the first Pro model in the globally popular Xiaomi Band (formerly Mi Band) lineup of affordable fitness trackers. Nearly two months after its announcement, the product may finally release outside mainland China.

Xiaomi Band 7 Pro

According to Xiaomi-focused tipster Kacper Skrzypek, the Xiaomi Smart Band 7 Pro (international branding) has been approved to launch in Europe. It seems to have cleared all the necessary certifications and may debut in the near future.

The variant coming to Europe will bear model number M2141B1. At the moment, it is not known whether this version will have any changes in its specs.

Xiaomi has been selling the Mi Smart Band 6 NFC in Europe since late last year. This version of the fitness tracker arrives with support for contactless payments and Amazon Alexa.

Since Xiaomi Smart Band 7 Pro comes with NFC and voice control as standard in China, the global variant will most likely retain these features. Hopefully, it does so because, without these two functionalities, the Pro model is basically a large Xiaomi Smart Band 7.

We have reviewed both Xiaomi Smart Band 7 and Xiaomi Smart 7 Pro. You can find the article for the former here and the video for the latter attached at the end of this post.

Lenovo Glasses T1 are wearable displays that work with computers and smartphones

Many companies are working on AR glasses, and companies like OPPO and TCL already have a product in this category. In a similar category, Lenovo has announced a pair of display glasses named Lenovo Glasses T1 at the IFA tech show in Berlin.

The newly announced product from Lenovo isn’t AR-enabled, but it acts as a head-worn secondary display for computers and smartphones.

Lenovo Glasses T1

There’s a high-contrast Micro-OLED display with a Full HD screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. There are two displays, one for each eye, and it also comes with built-in speakers along with TUV Low Blue Light certification. The company also says that there’s an option for custom prescription lens inserts.

Unlike Lenovo’s ThinkReality glasses launched for enterprise users, there’s no computing taking place on the glasses. This means there’s no hand tracking or other such features, and everything is controlled by the device you plug the glasses into.

The Lenovo Glasses T1 comes with a USB-C connection, enabling it to work with a wide range of devices, including Windows, Mac, and Android smartphones. The company also includes a Lightning adapter for connectivity with iPhones.

Coming to the pricing and availability, the company has not yet revealed the price, but it has been confirmed that the Lenovo Glasses T1 will go on sale in the Chinese market later this year and will be available in other regions from next year.
