Two months ago, we got our hands on the AGM G1S, an impressive rugged phone with an infrared camera. And today we are gonna talk about another model from the brand, the AGM H5 Pro. It’s also a brand-new rugged phone with more affordable pricing, coming with the loudest speakers and an incredible night vision camera.
Although this is an entry-level product, AGM still provides a complete set of accessories, including a USB cable, an 18W charger, the quick start guide, and a Card PIN.
Just like other rugged phones, the H5 Pro looks very robust at first glance but not so sharp. When holding it in hands, you can feel the curve of the phone body fit well in your palm, and the four corners of the H5 Pro are reinforced with rubber material to cope with those most violent crashes.
The back cover of the phone has a Kevlar-like texture that protects the phone from scratching while also increasing the friction for holding, which did feel safe in hands. On the top of the back cover, you can see a large speaker module that produces up to 109db of sound, which is pretty amazing when we got the sound test result.
The fingerprint sensor is located at the upper center, which means that the phone can be easily unlocked no matter which hand is holding it. The volume button and power button are on the right side of the phone, while on the other side, there is a customizable Side-button, you can make a trigger for activating certain functions in the system settings.
Connectivity
In terms of connectivity, the AGM H5 Pro maintains the configuration of a type-C USB plus a 3.5mm headphone jack, and it is worth mentioning that it also supports FM audio. You can plug the wired headphones into the phone as an FM antenna and then listen to many radio channels.
Rugged features
The AGM H5 Pro is IP68 rated, which means it can safely stay underwater for up to 30 minutes at a depth of 1.5 meters, or even withstand 99% dust environments. And the phone is also highly resistant to drops or crashes. It’s also able to survive repeated drops from 1.5 meters.
Camera & Night Vision
Now let’s focus on its camera system. You can’t expect a rugged phone to do everything well. Especially at this price point, I can only say that the AGM H5 Pro can meet the needs of daily shooting, these photos are not particularly impressive. Especially when under low lighting conditions, the detail and color of the images shot on regular lenses would be hard to compare to some regular phones.
But as I mentioned at the beginning, the most important thing is that it has a special night vision camera featuring 20MP resolution, which can help you see everything at night. All you need is to tap the icon to enter the night vision mode and you will see all the differences.
1 of 6
These graphics remind me of some FPS game scenes in which the role turns on the night vision equipment. It’s clear that this feature is very helpful to those who need good vision at night when exploring the outdoors. You might need to wear very professional equipment to achieve the vision before. Now you just need to take out the phone and you can see the various dangers lurking in the darkness.

Powerful Speaker
Before today the smartphones I’ve tested generally have a maximum speaker volume of about 85db, while this monster in front of me can create a maximum volume of 109db. And around this huge speaker, there is an RGB light ring that can create different lighting effects when playing music. It looks like something good for parties.
Performance for daily use
The AGM H5 Pro is powered by an Helio G85 chip and runs on Android 12, which is quite common on rugged models. But I kind of like the pure operating system. Apart from the necessary features and GMS, there are almost no third-party APPs pre-installed on this phone. The software has good response with smooth animation, and although this 6.52-inch screen doesn’t support a high refresh rate, It’s quite surprising that it hardly feels laggy when swiping between pages.
The H5 Pro can run the most popular casual games or FPS games smoothly under low or standard graphics. But I still want to say that the phone is not for those RPG games that require high performance or high graphics. But the good point is that you don’t really need to worry about the heating issue or power draining that we generally got on a regular flagship phone.
Battery & Charge
Compared to AGM’s flagship products, the H5 Pro has a larger battery. The 7000mAh battery supports 10 hours of continuous gaming and up to 423 hours of standby. I believe that no one would continuously play games for 10 hours on such a rugged phone. A benefit brought by the large battery is that it allows you to focus your mind on things that are really worth paying attention to, but not keep finding a charger for it. However, one thing you should note is that the charger’s maximum output is only 18 watts, so you’d better fully charge it before you set off.
And it’s interesting that AGM brought a special feature of wireless charging for the rugged phone. But it’s not the common way with charging coils that we saw before. There’s an exclusive wireless charging base for the H5 Pro. So you can see the metal contacts at the back, which are particularly prepared for the wireless power supply.
Conclusion
So that’s all we wanna share with you about the AGM H5 Pro. Well like other rugged phones, it’s not a performance-focused phone, but as an affordable Rugged phone, it’s quite balanced as a function-oriented model that has an impressive speaker and a night vision camera. And meanwhile, it also features a few useful tools that may be helpful for outdoors or fieldwork. So no matter for going on a solo safari, camping with friends, or just finding a tool for your daily work, it’ll be a pretty reliable companion.

Huawei is gearing up to launch its next-generation Mate-series flagship smartphones in the form of the Huawei Mate 50 lineup, even though the company is pretty much out of the game when it comes to premium devices because of the US-imposed sanctions.
But that isn’t stopping the Chinese giant from offering unique and innovative features to its smartphones. In the latest teaser shared by Huawei, it has been confirmed that the Mate 50 series smartphones will have support for satellite communication.
In a teaser video shared by the company showing a satellite getting launched, Huawei says that the signal goes beyond the ground and the device is always connected for communication. This pretty much confirms that the upcoming premium phones from the company will come with support for satellite communication feature.
Based on the rumors and previous leaks, it is being said that the satellite communication feature in the Huawei Mate 50 series will provide an emergency messaging service supported by the Beidou system.
The development comes after Huawei was granted a patent for “Method and Device for Satellite Communication,” and the company has also applied for several other patents related to this technology.
Huawei isn’t the only company working on offering satellite communication feature on its smartphones. Apple has also been working on something similar, which was expected to make its debut with the upcoming iPhone 14. The feature, named “Emergency Message via Satellite,” will reportedly be integrated into the Messages application as a third option along with SMS and iMessage.
The Huawei Mate 50 series flagship smartphones are set to go official in the Chinese market tomorrow, i.e. on 6th September. The devices will also come with support for better photography and will be equipped with Huawei Imaging XMAGE. The smartphones are expected to come running the company’s own HarmonyOS 3.0 operating system.
Google gave us a sneak peek at its upcoming flagships, Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro during the I/O 2022 and since then the devices have been the subject of various leaks and rumors. Recently, we saw a hands-on video with what looked like Pixel 7 prototypes. Now a new video has surfaced on Facebook which shows what appears to be the retail packaging for the Pixel 7 Pro in black.
Gadgetfull BD, an electronics store located in Dhaka, Bangladesh, shared a quick video on Facebook which shows what looks like a retail unit of the Pixel 7 Pro. In the video, a person can be seen taking a device out of a Google-branded retail box and showing off its sleek black rear panel, which features Google’s “G” logo.
The phone in the video looks identical to Google’s official renders. It is having the same visor-like aluminum camera module with two cutouts for the sensors. In addition, the handset even shows Google Pixel’s official animation sequence when it’s booted. We can also see the charging cable and the documentation bundled inside the retail box.
The video does not offer any details regarding the specification of the Pixel 7 Pro. However, previous reports suggest the device will be equipped with Google’s next-gen Tensor processor. On the front, it may feature a 6.7-inch QHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
Further, the device will sport a triple rear camera setup that may include a 50-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 48-megapixel telephoto sensor. Pixel 7 Pro could draw power from a 5000mAh battery that may support 33W fast charging.
The launch date of the Pixel 7 Pro is yet to be announced. It is expected to debut sometime in October alongside the Pixel 7 and Pixel Watch.

Like clockwork, the annual cycle of an iPhone release includes the leaks and rumours before the official launch in autumn, and Apple is no stranger in the smartphone industry. In this article, we shall be rounding up what we have known about the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max so far from the leaks and rumours ahead of launch.
iPhone 14 Pro Series Design and Colour Options
The iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max are said to feature very similar dimensions to the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max, whereby the Pro model is the smaller sibling, whilst the Pro Max has the bigger body, battery and screen to boot.
The construction of the iPhone 14 Pro devices is also said to be unchanged as well with a display protected by the brand’s trademarked Ceramic Shield glass for screen protection, alongside a matte fingerprint-resistant rear glass panel strengthened with a flat and glossy stainless steel frame for the most peace of mind to its utmost professional Apple users.
However, the biggest design change for this year’s iPhone 14 Pro series is most undoubtedly the removal of the notch on the front display. Leaks and rumours point to the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max sporting a new front display whereby the notch is replaced with a punch hole and pill-shaped cutout for a higher screen-to-body aspect ratio and more screen real estate for users to experience on their smartphone.
Leaked iPhone 14 Pro Series Colour Options
The pill-shaped cutout will be housing the sensors module that Apple uses for its Face ID biometric authentication, while the punch hole will house the front-facing camera used for selfies. The rear of the iPhone 14 Pro series will still have the Apple logo in the centre, and the camera island that houses the triple rear camera and LiDAR sensor setup will be located on the top left of the back.
Colour options for the iPhone 14 Pro series were recently leaked online last week, and the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max are shown to be available in 5 colour options, whereby the 3 standard colours are Silver, Graphite Black and Gold colourways, and the 2 new exclusive colourways for the iPhone 14 Pro series will be a never-before-seen Dark Purple colour by Apple, and a familiar Pacific Blue colour option first introduced by Apple on the iPhone 12 Pro series back in 2020.
iPhone 14 Pro Series Specs and Pricing
Powering the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max will be Apple’s latest A16 Bionic SoC, based on a 4nm process manufactured by Apple’s industry-leading partner TSMC. The processor inside the iPhone 14 Pro is said to be Apple’s greatest processor yet with better performance, better power efficiency and better AI capabilities with an improved Neural Engine onboard.
Another improvement to the iPhone 14 Pro series is the battery. The battery onboard the iPhone 14 Pro series devices are said to be 10 to 20% larger than the iPhone 13 Pro series of smartphones, meaning that the range-topping iPhone 14 Pro Max could extend its lead in the smartphone space as the battery champion flagship once more in 2022.
iPhone 14 Pro Illustration
The charging times for the iPhone 14 Pro series are expected to improve as well. Rumours pointed to the iPhone 14 Pro series featuring 30W wired charging, up from 20W charging on last year’s iPhone 13 series, which could improve charging times by at most 50% compared to the last generation. And if you fancy wireless charging, you should have no worries with the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max as both are still expected to feature Apple’s MagSafe wireless charging which is faster on iPhones compared to Qi Wireless Charging.
Last but not least, are the cameras. The main sensor on the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max are said to feature Apple’s latest 48 MP main lens, replacing the company’s traditional 12 MP lens that it has been using for almost a decade. The new 48 MP main wide camera will include features such as Focus Pixels and pixel binning technology to produce better shots whether it be daylight or nighttime. The new 48 MP sensor is also capable of bringing 8K video recording to the iPhone 14 Pro series, further bringing professional videography on iPhone to the next level.
iPhone 14 Pro Concept Render
As for the rest of the camera sensors, the iPhone 14 Pro series will be seeing a new 7-element telephoto lens replacing the 6-element lens on the iPhone 13 Pro series, an improved ultra-wide-angle camera with larger 1.4µm pixels to let more light in during low-light, as well as a front-facing camera with a better ƒ/1.9 aperture and autofocus.
iPhone 14 Pro Series Software, Storage Options and Pricing
As for software customisations, Apple fans will be glad to hear that the iPhone 14 Pro series launches with iOS 16 out of the box with Apple’s new enhanced home screen and lock screen customisation features which add a bit more uniquely sophisticated look for your device.
iOS 16 Lockscreens
Another software feature rumoured on the Apple iPhone 14 Pro series is the Always On Display (AOD) functionality, which shows the time and notifications even when the device is sleeping. The feature will not use much of the battery due that in an AMOLED, each individual AMOLED only lights up when there is a non-black output, thus that is why most AODs are black by nature. The AOD feature has been present in the Android space for a long time and is today found on devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, Xiaomi 12S Ultra, and the Redmi K50 series of smartphones.

Honor just took part in the IFA 2022 and announced its new Dual Flagship strategy including the launch of new traditional phones and new foldable phones in the old continent. Besides the new Honor 70, the brand announced the new Honor Pad 8 for the European market. A few days before, OPPO launched its first tablet in the old continent: the OPPO Pad Air. These two devices belong to the same range and they pack similar specifications. But which one is the best? There is no better way to understand it than an article like this. This is a comparison between the main specifications of the OPPO Pad Air and the Honor Pad 8 which will highlight the main differences between these two great tablets for the affordable segment.
The design of the OPPO Pad Air is definitely more curated. It has a rear side made of two pieces with a very refined texture including the metal. It is more compact than the Honor Pad 8 and it is even lighter, but there is not much difference between the batteries of these two devices. The OPPO Pad Air is the winner of the design comparison. It has a very high screen to body ratio with the display taking more than 80 percent of the front panel. It is just 6.9 mm thin and it sports a single camera on the rear side. Unfortunately, there is no fingerprint reader, but this makes the design cleaner. Its overall dimensions are 245.1 x 154.8 x 6.9 mm and it weighs 440 grams. The Honor Pad 8 has a full aluminum unibody design and a very high screen to body ratio, but it is less impressive than its rival in terms of design, and it is even bigger and heavier.
Display
The displays of these two tablets are more or less at the same level in terms of image quality. They are IPS LCD panels able to show up to one billion colors with a Full HD+ resolution of 1200 x 2000 pixels. We are not talking about high-end displays as they are not even OLED panels, but they still have a great color reproduction and they are pretty good panels if we consider that these devices are tablets. In this price range, it is not easy to find better displays. But what really differs between these two panels is the size: the Honor Pad 8 has a bigger 12-inch panel, while the OPPO Pad Air stops at just 10.36 inches. This makes the Honor better for productivity, studying, and advanced users. Further, the Honor Pad 8 should provide a superior audio experience because it is equipped with eight speakers instead of just four speakers like the OPPO tablet.
Specs & Software
The OPPO Pad Air and the Honor Pad 8 are fueled by the same mobile platform: the Snapdragon 680 chipset by Qualcomm built with a 6 nm production process. It is a midrange SoC with an octa-core architecture composed of four Kryo 265 Gold custom cores running at a max frequency of 2.4 GHz, four Kryo 265 Silver custom cores running at 1.9 GHz, and an Adreno 610 GPU. It is a sufficient processor for every usage and it is paired with up to 6 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage. In terms of performance, it is essentially a draw. There is just one important difference: the internal storage of the OPPO tablet is expandable with a micro SD, while the Honor Pad 8 does not seem to have a micro SD slot. Last but not least, the OPPO Pad Air seems to have better software: we are talking about the ColorOS for Pad based on Android 12: a version of the ColorOS user interface designed specifically for tablets.
Camera
Again, if you are looking for a better camera, you should opt for the OPPO Pad Air. On the rear side, it sports a great 8 MP shooter with an f/2.0 focal aperture: definitely better than the disappointing 5 MP shooter of the Honor Pad 8. The front cameras are more or less at the same level, with 5 MP resolutions. These are not great tablets to shoot photos, but they are sufficient for emergency shots.
The Honor Pad 8 is a bigger tablet and it also comes with a bigger battery, but the difference between the battery capacities is just marginal: 7250 mAh against 7100 mAh. However, this should be enough to let the Honor tablet last more on a single charge. Further, the Honor Pad 8 is the only one to support reverse charging and it charges quicker thanks to a faster 22.5W charging technology.
Price
The starting price of the OPPO Pad Air for the European market is €300/$300 for the base variant with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of native storage, while you need €330/$330 to purchase the base variant of the Honor Pad 8 packing the same memory configuration. I personally prefer the OPPO because of its micro SD slot, better design, more compact dimensions, great software, and better camera, but the Honor Pad 8 has a bigger battery and a bigger display. Which one would you pick?
Apple will hold its big traditional event on September 7 at the Steve Jobs Theater on its Apple Park Campus, and that’s when we expect the Apple iPhone 14 and a bunch of other devices to launch. The standard iPhone 14 could remain nearly identical to the iPhone 13. Even so, we expect some improvements over the current models.
As we wait for official confirmation and more details on the iPhone 14, here’s a quick roundup of everything we know so far.
iPhone 14 Design
Reports indicate that Apple will be widening the gap between Pro and standard models with the upcoming iPhone 14 series. The company may reserve the new processor, design, and cameras for the pro lineup.
iPhone 14 Series prototypes
The standard iPhone 14 is expected to look very similar to its predecessor, with the same notch and similar camera bump. However, the iPhone 14 Pro models are rumored to get a new look this year. They’re said to lose the unsightly notch for a pair of pill+hole cutouts.
A new leak suggests the Pro models could also feature a single capsule-shaped hole instead of two cutouts. Moreover, the gap between the selfie camera and Face ID module will reportedly be used as a privacy indicator for the cameras and microphone.
iPhone 14 lineup display panels
Getting back to the iPhone 14, it is expected to carry a shorter and thinner notch than the iPhone 13. On the back, the handset will have two rear cameras aligned diagonally. It will likely have flat edges and an aluminum frame.
iPhone 14 Specs & Features
iPhone 14 will have the same 6.1-inch display as the previous year’s iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro Max. It could feature an OLED panel, along with True Tone, Haptic Touch, and HDR support. It is also reported that the standard iPhone 14 model will come with Apple’s ProMotion 120Hz refresh rate, however, it may not be adaptive.
If we talk about the processor, iPhone 14 will retain the last year’s A15 chip. This is definitely disappointing since a new chipset is one of the biggest upgrades Apple brings with each new model. However, the Pro models are expected to be powered by a new A16 Bionic chip.
The chipset will likely be paired with 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of storage. Even though the iPhone 14 will be powered by a year-old chip, it will still be more powerful than most phones on the market.
If we talk about the battery, the iPhone 14 is expected to receive a slight improvement in terms of battery size. We can expect the handset to offer at least 19 hours of battery on a single charge. It will likely carry the same 20W charging support.
iPhone 14 Cameras
Various leaks and rumors suggest iPhone 14 will not be getting any major camera upgrades. It will likely retain the same dual rear camera setup that was seen on the iPhone 13 models. Moreover, the handset may get the same 12-megapixel sensors.
However, Apple may improve the camera and processing of the device with the help of some changes in the software. It may receive some camera improvements with the IOS 16 as well.
Representative image
While on the front, the device is reported to receive upgraded cameras for better selfies and video calls. All in all, the camera department of the iPhone 14 will be almost similar to the last year’s model.
However, the iPhone 14 Pro models will be receiving some serious camera improvements this year. Apple is reportedly working on a 48-megapixel camera that can capture more detailed and high-quality photos with better control of light.
iPhone 14 Expected Price
There have been rumors that the iPhone 14 Pro models will see around a $100 increase in price. However, it’s unknown if the standard models will see a price hike or not. iPhone 13 was launched at a price of $799 and rumors suggest the iPhone 14 will bear the same price tag.
The 256GB variant of the smartphone may go up to $899. The price seems fair since the device is not carrying any significant upgrades over its predecessor.
