Zoom has just rolled out a new update for its application on Apple Mac platform. The new update patches a major security vulnerability that would allow hackers to gain deep access to one’s Mac system.
According to a ArsTechnicareport, the popular cloud based video conferencing service had to patch a major security flaw that enabled people with malicious to gain root level access to one’s Mac PCs. This would let the hackers take control of their systems. Apparently, this vulnerability stemmed from the Zoom application’s auto updater software, which had root level access to the system. This software only had a signature verification system that could be easily fooled by giving your package a familiar file name.
In other words, a hacker could potentially force your app to downgrade or otherwise enable exploits as well. The security flaw was first discovered by Patrick Wardle, the Objective-See Foundation (OSF) creator and researcher. Wardle had informed Zoom regarding this vulnerability back in December 2021. Now, the company has officially fixed this issue, although, the patch also brought another bug as well.
However, this was also soon fixed by Zoom, but Wardle found yet another bug in the application which was just recently patched as well. Notably, this isn’t the first time Zoom faced security related issues with its platform for the Mac systems. The company also had to quickly fix a webcam hijack exploit back in 2019, which lead to rise in criticism of the software, especially in 2020 when the app exploded in popularity.
Just a couple of weeks ago, Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) was promptly removed from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store in India. The game was apparently getting the ban hammer under the same law that removed PUBG Mobile from the region. However, it appears that this decision might be reversed soon.
The news arrives from Maxtern, who shared the information on Twitter. Looking at his tweet, he claims that the popular battle royale title has a high possibility of coming back to the Indian market soon. So far, there have already been influencers that have shared their optimism regarding the mobile game’s return. But this social media post claims that it is almost guaranteed to return.
For those unaware, Krafton’s Indian version of PUBG Mobile was recently removed from the app stores in the country, which raised major concerns regarding the entire esports scene surrounding the game. Apart from this, content creators, professional players, and many other were also affected by its delisting. However, the Indian government has yet to offer any official statement regarding this matter.
Maxtern is a content creator for Team Godlike and his tweet reads that “According to the sources, BGMI has a high chance of coming back soon!” As of right now, it is still unclear if the game will actually be returning to app stores in the country. So stick around for more updates regarding this matter.
Vivo‘s rapidly growing sub-brand iQOO has launched multiple devices in its Z6 series this year. Now, a new report from 91mobiles (citing industry sources) has revealed the existence of another smartphone in the series called the iQOO Z6 Lite.
Vivo T1x
According to the report, the Z6 Lite will be very similar to the Vivo T1x which was launched last month in India. This implies that the device will likely offer 4G connectivity only. Additionally, the device is tipped to launch in the second week of September.
As for the pricing, the report mentions that the iQOO Z6 Lite could cost Rs 500 to Rs 700 lesser than the Vivo T1x. For those unaware, the Vivo T1x launched with a starting price tag of Rs 11,999 and went as high as Rs 14,999. As for the specification, since the device is most likely a Vivo T1x rebrand, we can look at the specs of the T1x to get an idea of what to expect.
Vivo T1x specifications and features
The device has a teardrop notch and a 6.58-inch IPS LCD display. It has a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2408 pixels and a refresh rate of 90Hz. The screen-to-body ratio of the display is 90.6 percent.
Under the hood, the device has a Snapdragon 680 chipset paired with 4 GB / 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB / 128 GB of internal storage. It features Android 12-based FunTouchOS 12 and offers a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and face unlock for security. The smartphone packs a 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging.

The Apple iPhone 14 series launch is edging closer. The 2022 iPhone lineup includes the base iPhone 14, the new iPhone 14 Max, the iPhone 14 Pro, and the top end iPhone 14 Pro Max. However, prior to the official announcement, the hands on impression of the iPhone 14 Pro series has been leaked.
iPhone 14 Series prototypes
The latest leak arrives from LeaksAppleProwho has been known to offer tips regarding certain upcoming products from the Cupertino based giant. As per the tipster, a source close to the matter got some hands on time with a working unit of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. After which, the person shared his personal thoughts about the experience he had with the two high end models. According to the source, the new pill shaped cutout setup on the front serves practically the same function as the large notch that it was replacing.
The person added that it might be take a while to get used to this but will not notice the design after some time. Furthermore, the source added that display also brings no real quality improvements over the previous generation iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max either, despite rumors going on regarding the newer models featuring Samsung’s latest M12 generation OLED technology. In the tweet, the tipster’s source claimed that the iPhone 14 Pro Max feels like a brick in hand.
Lastly, the person also talked the camera system of the two upcoming phones. Apple has had its iPhone series stick with a 12 megapixel primary camera on the rear for some time now. However, the newer models will pack a large 48 megapixel resolution. But people feared that there is a trade off to this since the higher resolution also means smaller pixels. And the hands on impressions confirms these fears. The source claimed that the 48 megapixel sensor worked great, but only when there is enough light. Keep in mind that this is still an unconfirmed report, so take this news with a pinch of salt and stick around for more updates.

Poco is gearing up to launch multiple smartphones in the coming months. One of them will be Poco M5. This handset has been spotted on yet another certification website today. Let’s have a look at it.
Poco M4 Pro
The upcoming Poco M5 has now appeared on NBTC. This suggests that the phone will likely be available in Thailand. Unfortunately, the listing doesn’t reveal anything new about it.

The smartphone has been also certified by FCC, BIS, and IMDA. Therefore, it may also release in India and Singapore. The Indian version has the model number 22071219CI.
Poco is yet to officially tease the arrival of this handset. Going by the first four digits of the model numbers that depict the month of release, the phone should have gone official in July. But it looks like the product has been delayed.
Further, the Poco M5 is expected to be accompanied by Poco M5s. The latter device is nothing but a rebranded Redmi Note 10S. It will ship with Android 12-based MIUI 13 and will probably sport cosmetic changes.

Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro 5G certifications
1 of 3
First off, we have the Google Play-supported device listing which reveals that the device has the SM-T636B model number. It also confirms the moniker as “Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro 5G.” The moniker confirms that the tablet will launch with SIM support and there might be a Wi-Fi-only variant as well.
The Bluetooth SIG listing reveals two models SM-T636B and SM-T636N with Bluetooth 5.2 support. These could be the 5G and Wi-Fi versions.
The rugged tablet’s model number on the Google Play Console is displayed as SM-T638B, which may be an error since the tab’s model number in the other two databases is T636B. The website does indicate that this is the Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro 5G, regardless of the model number. This listing indicates that the Qualcomm SM7325 SoC, which is the Snapdragon 778G with four 2.4GHz and four 1.8GHz cores, would power the tablet. There will be 4GB of RAM onboard. The Adreno 642L GPU will be paired with this SoC.
Additionally, the Tab Active 4 Pro will feature a Full HD resolution with a resolution of 1200 x 1920 pixels. The operating system will be based on Android 12L.

Looking at the social media post, the smartphone in question will be a high end model that had initially sported a 2K display, but now features a 1080p (likely FHD+) resolution. Furthermore, the Black Shark smartphone will reportedly be powered by a 4,790mAh battery pack and it uses a dual cell design with 100W fast charging support.

Although, it is entirely likely that it is an upcoming refreshed model of an existing smartphone lineup as well.
Back in June 2022, the blogger had also revealed some other details regarding this smartphone. Back then, he mentioned the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, since the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 hadn’t been announced. During that time, we had assumed that the smartphone could be a part of the Black Shark 5S series, which will be the latest flagship entry from the Chinese brand.

Android 13 also allows users to copy content like a URL, image, text, or video and paste it onto other Android devices. To know about other features of Android 13, users can head to Google’s official blog post.

We haven’t reviewed a Nubia phone in a long time. However, today, we’ve got one, the Nubia Z40S Pro. While I said it was the cheapest 8+ Gen1 phone in the GT2 Master explorer edition review, the Z40S Pro came to us at a lower price, and it’s another straight-screen flagship phone too! Let’s cut the crap and start the REVIEW right away.
Nubia Z40S Pro Design & Display
As soon as I got this phone, it felt familiar and strange at the same time. When I held it in my hand, it felt like an iPhone, and when I lit up the screen, it looked like a Reno 8 Pro+. When I turned to the back, it looked like the Mi 11 Ultra without the back screen, and the Sliding switch on the side reminded me of OnePlus, and put it all together, it was the Z40S Pro. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying it’s ugly. I rather admire their designers. After all, the phone looks good after I used it for long time. The metal frame is also chamfered, not as hard on the iPhone or GT2 Master. The main camera has a red circle around it, a bit like the one on Canon lenses. The logo on the right is off center and that’s bringing out my OCD.
NFC, yes. Dual Nano SIM cards, yes. Stereo speakers, yes. Headphone jack, no. But there is a Sliding switch, and the default is to quickly open the camera in Street mode. You can also go to the settings to change the shortcut you want.
I’m sure many of you are wondering which screen is better, the GT2 Master explorer edition or the Z40S Pro. Well, they are very close to each other. Let’s look at the bezel width first, it’s really hard to tell which one is narrower. If there must be a winner, the GT2 Master’s lower bezel will be about 0.1mm narrower. But the Z40S Pro has a 144Hz screen that scrolls very smoothly. As for the viewable angle part, they are both going to be greenish when viewed sideways, as neither feature Samsung’s OLED panel. Both phones have FHD+ resolution and the clarity is the same. So if you’re on the fence about buying the GT2 Master or the Z40S Pro, you’ll have to keep watching to find out which one is right for you.
Nubia Z40S Pro Performance
Usually, all Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 phone’s performances are about the same. But the actual gaming performance is not like that. PUBG performance is very stable, but it is also the normal level for flagship phones. Unfortunately, PUBG does not have a 90fps mode for the Z40S Pro, the maximum frame rate is only 60fps, but Genshin is more impressive, the average frame rate on the Z40S Pro is 59fps.
1 of 3
The small drop in frame rate in the middle was because I was challenging the boss, but it didn’t affect the game play much. Although the temperature came to 49 degrees Celsius, the stable and smooth gaming experience deserves a good rating. Because this result was taken in super performance mode, you can also turn on the game space and select auto mode if you want lower temperatures.
There’s nothing special about the Bench mark section, so if you’re interested, you can pause and watch it yourself.

Nubia Z40S Pro Performance
As the cheapest Snapdragon 8+ phone to date, it has the most powerful camera system in its price range. The main camera is the ZTE family’s iconic 35mm lens, model IMX787. A 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a periscopic telephoto lens. That’s right, Nubia has put a periscopic telephoto lens on a 500-dollar phone at a time when telephoto lenses are becoming rarer.
This equivalent 125mm focal length telephoto lens not only allows you to avoid clutter and take better-looking photos, but with the addition of the 35mm main camera, the focal length coverage of the three lenses will be more sensible than many phones. But 8MP does not provide much detail, and if you want to zoom in on a photo, you can still see the noise. This telephoto lens has a small sensor though and can take very good pictures at night. However, the image quality is not as good as flagship phones like the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, and the telephoto lens doesn’t have a night mode. It can’t record video beyond 4k or 60fps, either.
But it only sells for 500 dollars, so I am very satisfied with this telephoto lens.
The 35mm main camera is basically the same as the ZTE Axon 40 Ultra’s main camera. There are several advantages of this lens, one is that the 35mm focal length is easier to compose, especially for food shots. It’s very convenient that you don’t have to get close to the food, you can just get a shot of the food on the table when you lift your hand. The second is that the night scene processing is excellent. You can choose to turn on the night mode or not to get the night effect you want. Three is the powerful video recording capability, this lens supports up to 8k or 4k 120fps video recording. Clarity is certainly not a concern, but the image stabilization may be weaker if the focal length becomes further away. Of course, you can switch to the ultra-wide-angle lens as it will not have these problems, but the image quality will become poorer.

Ultra wide-angle camera’s auto mode photos are also in line with the level of this price point, only this night mode seems to be not tuned properly. I found a lot of strange problems when I was using the ultra wide angle night mode on this phone. Sometimes the play is normal and the dynamic range is hugely improved. But sometimes it appears that night mode has worse dynamic range than auto mode. Sometimes night mode will increase the contrast of the photo, but sometimes it won’t. So which scene will be better with night mode, you have to try it yourself.

Nubia Z40S Pro Battery Life & Performance
This year we have seen a trend wherein brands like to put out two models of the same phone: one with a large battery that charges slightly slower. The other is super fast charging with a slightly smaller battery. The Z40S Pro is no exception, so if you want a big battery or faster charging, you can choose for yourself. We got the 80w 5000mAh version. Let’s look at the charging first, ten minutes to charge 35%, 20 minutes to 58%, and 40 minutes to full. 5000mAh battery also ensures that you won’t lose your connection for a day out because of a dead battery. And with no increase in power consumption with Genshin’s higher frame rate than anyone else, the battery life of this phone can be considered quite excellent.
As you can see, the Z40S Pro is a very good phone for the price. For 500 bucks, you get the latest 8+ Gen 1 chip, a periscopic telephoto camera system, a 144Hz straight screen, and a 5000mAh battery. We generally call this kind of phone “Flagship killer”. Although it is currently the cheapest and best value 8+ Gen 1 phone, but maybe by the time you see this video, a cheaper or better value 8+ Gen 1 phone will have been launched.
Xiaomi is reportedly gearing up to launch the Xiaomi 12T series of smartphones for the global market. The Chinese manufacturer unveiled the Xiaomi 11T series in September 2021. Hence, the Xiaomi 12T and the 12T Pro are expected to debut in the next month. Ahead of the expected launch, the 12T has been certified by the NBTC authority of Thailand.
The NBTC certification does not reveal any information about the specifications of the Xiaomi 12T. It just mentions the model number of the device as 22071212AG. Speculations are rife that the Xiaomi 12T will differ in departments like the chipset, main camera, and fast charging capabilities from the Xiaomi 12T Pro.
The Xiaomi 12T is expected to feature the Dimensity 8100-Ultra chipset, 8 GB of RAM, and 256 GB of built-in storage. It will come equipped with a 108-megapixel triple camera setup. While it is expected to carry support for 67W fast charging, there is no word on its battery size. The 12T is likely to be priced at 649 euros and may come in black, silver, and blue colors.
The Xiaomi 12T Pro is expected to house a 6.67-inch OLED display that offers 1220 x 2712 pixels resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. It may feature an in-screen fingerprint scanner. The device may run on the Android 12 OS and MIUI 13.
The 12T Pro may arrive with a 200-megapixel (main) + 8-megapixel (ultra-wide) + 2-megapixel (macro) triple camera unit. For selfies, it will feature a 20-megapixel selfie snapper.
The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 will power the Xiaomi 12T Pro. It may come with 8 GB / 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. It is likely to pack a 5,000mAh battery with 120W fast charging support. It is also expected to come in black, silver, and blue colors. In Europe, it could cost 849 euros.
