Realme GT Neo2 launching in a unique BlackMint Color Option that’s Nothing Short of a Feast for the Eyes

Barely a few months have passed since the release of the Realme GT Neo and Realme is now already set to announce its successor. The next generation has been named Realme GT Neo2, and it will be making its debut at 2 PM (local time) on September 22.

And today, Realme has officially teased a “BlackMint” color option for the Realme GT Neo2, which comprises black and mint colors just as the name implies. The rear panel has been splashed mostly with a flashy minty green color, but it is complemented by a couple of black stripes. The thicker among the two has “realme” written on it, while the thinner band has marquee-like text that we have become all too familiar with – “DARE TO LEAP” in all caps.

Prominent leakster Digital Chat Station has revealed that the BlackMint color option for the Realme GT Neo2 will be making use of satin AG technology for a matte finish. For the uninitiated, AG stands for anti-glare and is less reflective and less of a fingerprint magnet when pitched against the regular glass back.

We previously highlighted how the Realme GT Neo2 would be coming with a Neo Green color option. However, as it has turned out, the color is actually called BlackMint. Other rumored color options include a darker green color with a special Mercedes-AMG edition of the phone, Mirror Black, Dream Blue, and Super Orange.

Specifications to be expected with the Realme GT Neo2 include a 6.62-inch AMOLED FHD+ punch-hole display with a refresh rate of 120Hz, a 64-megapixel + 8-megapixel + 2-megapixel triple rear camera setup combined with a 16-megapixel front camera. The device will be powered by the flagship-level Snapdragon 870 SoC and may come with up to 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. The battery is adequately sized at 4,500mAh. The software the device will first boot into will obviously be Realme UI 2.0 UI-based Android 11 OS. Unfortunately, there isn’t any info at hand regarding the pricing of this champ.

Sennheiser CX Plus TWS earbuds with ANC support launched for $180

Sennheiser has a popular lineup of earphones under its CX series and now the company has added a new product under the same lineup, dubbed Sennheiser CX Plus. They are touted to be the first TWS earphones in the CX series to have noise cancellation.

The earbuds support SBC, AAC, AptX, and AptX Adaptive audio codecs. There’s also support for touch-based control as well as support for customizing EQ settings. This allows you to choose which ones control the audio, calls, and the voice assistant.

Sennheiser CX Plus

It also comes with an intelligent smart pause feature that automatically pauses playback when you take the headphones out. The company also adds that both the left and right earbuds can be used individually. It also comes with active noise cancellation technology, which is an upgrade over some of its earlier models that only featured passive cancellation.

There’s also an ambient sound mode or transparent hearing mode which uses their microphones to pass through audio from the outside world. It uses Sennheiser’s TrueResponse transducer, which apparently brings “audiophile technology” to “everyday” earbuds. The earphones are rated IPX4 for resistance to splashing water.

As for the battery life, it is claimed to provide a total of 24 hours of usage when the earbuds are topped up from the charging case. The Sennheiser CX Plus will be available for purchase from the 28th of September in Black and White color options, for a price of £129.99 in the United Kingdom and $179.95 in the United States.

Xiaomi 11T series roundup: Specs, Price, Colors & More – What to Expect!

The Xiaomi Mi 11T series is all set to be the first global smartphone offering from Xiaomi to ditch the familiar “Mi” branding. The launch has been set for tomorrow, or September 15 to be precise, and we expect the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE to be announced alongside it. The series is made up of two models – Xiaomi 11T and Xiaomi 11T Pro. The design of both should be near-identical based on the leaks we have had in the recent past.

Display and Design

Renders show the Xiaomi 11T series sports a familiar design, the front of which is not unlike the Xiaomi Mi 11X (Poco F3). The punch hole for the front camera is as non-obtrusive as it can possibly get and is aligned to the center. The rear cameras are more interesting, with three sensors packed into a fairly prominent, large module. The right edge of the phones will feature a fingerprint sensor integrated into the power key.

Xiaomi 11T series

As for the displays on the Xiaomi 11T and 11T Pro, they will be a significant upgrade over last year’s LCD panel found on the Mi 10T series. Sure, there is no indication of any 144Hz action as on the Mi 10T, but the panels are now OLED and the refresh rate is still as smooth as butter at a respectable 120Hz. The aspect ratio is the now staple 20:9 and the resolution has been capped at FHD+.

Cameras on the Xiaomi 11T series

As already mentioned, there’s a punch hole camera up front paired with a larger-than-usual rear camera module. The former is said to have a resolution of 20 megapixels, which is again, the same pixel density found on the Mi 11X’s front shooter. The rear cameras of the Mi 11T are a trinity comprised of a 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B primary camera, a Sony IMX355 wide lens, and a telemacro camera that offers 3x zoom. The Pro version may come with a 108MP primary camera though.

Other specifications

Xiaomi may have stopped using the ‘flagship killer’ tag a while ago, but there is no doubt that the Xiaomi 11T and the 11T Pro are from that category. For starters, they will both be sporting flagship chips from the two semiconductor giants. The 11T is expected to be powered by Mediatek’s flagship Dimensity 1200 processor while the 11T Pro has opted for Qualcomm’s 2021 champ – the Snapdragon 888 chip.

Mi 11T Pro

As if that isn’t enough, at least the Pro version will have 120W HyperCharge support. Xiaomi claims that this charging tech is capable of reviving a dead phone with a battery capacity of 4,000mAh from 0% to 100% within just 15 minutes. A full charge should take a tad longer on the Xiaomi 11T series though since it’s expected to arrive with 5,000mAh batteries.

Software

The dropping of the “Mi” branding isn’t the only new thing new with these smartphones. Xiaomi has now also promised four years of update support for the first time ever – 3 years of Android upgrades and four years of security updates. By doing so, the Chinese smartphone OEM has joined the likes of Samsung.

MIUI 12.5 Logo Featured A

Both the Xiaomi 11T and 11T Pro will be booting into the latest piece of stable software available at Xiaomi HQ, which is MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11.

Storage and color variants

A European retailer had leaked the configurations, color variants, and the expected pricing of both Mi 11T models. The options include 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage.

The Xiaomi 11T’s 128 GB variant was listed for £633.96 (~$871), whereas the 256GB model is priced at £660.95 (~$908). And as for the Mi 11T Pro, the variants were priced at £758.69 (~$1,042) and £785.42 (~$1,079) for the 128 GB and 256 GB respectively.

The listing reveals that the 11T and 11T Pro will come in three colors – Celestial Blue, Moonlight White, and Meteorite Grey. The pricing may be false, but the colors are most likely accurate.

Other Expected Products at the Event

The Xiaomi Pad 5 and Pad 5 Pro that were earlier exclusive to China are expected to be announced globally with tomorrow’s event. They are 11-inch slates with 120Hz IPS LCD displays and are powered by the Snapdragon 860 and 870 chips.

Xiaomi Pad 5

The Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE (New Edition) is also expected to be announced alongside the tablets. It should be identical to the Mi 11 Lite 5G in every way, except for a Snapdragon 778G chipset instead of the Snapdragon 780G.

How to Watch Xiaomi Global Launch Event Live

The Xiaomi Global Launch event will begin at 8 PM GMT on September 15 (September 16, 1:30 AM IST). It will be streamed on Xiaomi.com, YouTube, and even the company’s social media accounts.

Samsung kickstarts Android 12-based One UI 4.0 Beta program for the Galaxy S21 series

Samsung has finally kickstarted One UI 4.0 Beta program based on Android 12 for the Galaxy S21 series. The initiative was first teased at the end of July. Previously, it was said to be made available in August itself. But unfortunately, that did not happen. Anyway, the company is still a month ahead of last year.

Samsung One UI 4.0 Beta Android 12 A

According to the official announcement, Android 12-based One UI 4.0 brings new and improved customization and privacy capabilities. Dr. TM Roh, President and Head of Samsung Electronics’ Mobile Communications Business, says that the company’s new software helps users create their own optimized mobile experience. Like the previous iterations of One UI, the latest version is also said to be developed with feedback from users.

The One UI 4.0 Beta program for the Galaxy S21 devices, namely Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra will be available in the following regions.

  • China
  • India
  • Germany
  • Poland
  • South Korea
  • UK
  • US

However, it is worth noting that the release date may vary from country to country. Further, in order to enroll in the initiative, users will have to use the Samsung Members app.

Most importantly, not all features will be available in the beta builds. Also, these software builds could be buggy. Hence, the beta program is not recommended for everyone.

As far as stable release is concerned, Samsung says it will happen later this year. Since the South Korean tech giant is a month earlier this time around, the stable rollout may begin as early as November instead of December.

Huawei Watch D with blood pressure monitoring could soon get launched

Huawei, the China-based technology giant, has been struggling to maintain its presence in the smartphone market but the company has several other product categories and seems to have shifted its focus to other products.

The company has launched several wearable devices so far and now the China-based giant is gearing up to launch a new smartwatch. Huawei hasn’t actually confirmed this but a new trademark from the brand indicates this.

Huawei Watch D Trademark

It is believed that the upcoming smartwatch, which is reportedly named Huawei Watch D, will come with many health and fitness-related features, including a heart rate monitor, blood pressure monitor, and body fat monitor.

As of now, there’s no information about what the “D” in the device’s name indicates. The company has previously launched a smartwatch named Watch GT where the GT stands for “Gran Turismo.” It may be that Huawei is rebranding its devices and thus, opted for a simpler name for the upcoming product.

Whatever be the case behind the naming, we should get to know more about it in the coming weeks. What’s interesting is that this new smartwatch will be the first one from the company to come with support for blood pressure monitoring.

Huawei is reportedly testing this new smartwatch and a previously leaked image of the same indicates that it looks similar to the Watch Fit. We expect to know more about this new smartwatch in the coming days or weeks. The company has scheduled a global launch event for P50 series smartphones on 21st October so maybe the company could announce or reveal more about the device at the same event.

As of right now, the support page is live on Samsung India’s official website and has also been teased on Amazon India. Xiaomi unveils its Smart Glass concept, features calling, navigation, and MicroLED display

Xiaomi has just unveiled a new smart product concept. The new gadget is a Smart Glass that offers various features like calling, navigation, and even houses a camera for live translation and taking pictures.

Xiaomi

According to the Chinese tech giant’s spokesperson, the brand has no plans on selling these smart glasses as of right now. Although, it did reveal a lot of information and shared videos that hints at what a possible smart eyewear from the company could offer in the future. The smart glasses sports a relatively conventional design but arrives with a monochrome MicroLED display alongside AR features. The brand opted for this display technology due to its “higher pixel density and longer lifespan while having a simpler structure” when compared to OLED.

Furthermore, Xiaomi added that MicroLED displays also “allows for a more compact display, as well as easier screen integration.” While the new display technology has been touted to be a possible successor to OLEDs, it is quite expensive and have only been seen in just a few commercial products. As per official notes, the display has a size of “grain of rice” with its dimensions being 2.4mm x 2.02mm, with a peak brightness of 2 million nits. This high brightness won’t completely reach the user’s eye and is offered to make the information being displayed visible even in direct sunlight.

Xiaomi

As per video teasers from the company, we can see various scenarios where the new smart glasses concept would come in handy. This includes live translation, real time navigation, notifications right on the display, and other useful functions as well. Notably, the smart glasses can function without a smartphone and is independent as it is an Android device itself. It sports an unknown quad core Arm processor, with support for WiFi, Bluetooth, houses a battery, and a 5 megapixel camera while just weighing 51 grams.

OPPO Enco Buds Review: All-around Upgrade Over Enco W11

The OPPO Enco Buds are the latest pair of truly wireless earphones from the smartphone maker. They are the successor to last year’s OPPO Enco W11. But for some reason, the company is using a new name instead of W12.

However, though the branding is different, this TWS product looks almost identical to its predecessor. As a result, It is difficult to tell these audio accessories apart unless you hold both the models in close and compare them.

So do the new OPPO Enco Buds come with any upgrade or not? I will try to answer this question in this review.

OPPO Enco Buds Review Featured2

OPPO Enco Buds Review

Disclaimer:

This review of OPPO Enco Buds is based on the author’s firsthand experience with a unit sent out by OPPO India. The opinions stated here are the author’s alone.

The review is more of a comparison between OPPO Enco Buds and OPPO Enco W11 to let the readers understand the changes that the new model brings.

PS: The author had been using the Enco W11 as their primary TWS for months before switching over to the Galaxy Buds+.

Build and Design

The OPPO Enco Buds feature a plastic build all around. The buds and the charging case sport a glossy finish, which can get scratched easily but are hard to spot, at least on the white color that I have with me. In fact, India only gets this hue option, while in some markets, the product also comes in a blue color version.

OPPO Enco Buds Review Earbuds

Moving on, both the charging case and the buds look like a pebble. They flaunt an almost-same design as the Enco W11. The charging case of Enco Buds is slightly thicker and heavier, whereas the buds themselves are smaller and lighter in weight.

As per OPPO, each IP54-rated Enco Bud weighs 4g, while the IP55-rated Enco W11 buds weigh 4.4g each. But the former’s charging case is heavier at 37g as compared to 35.5g of the latter.

Hence, the net weight of OPPO Enco Buds is actually higher. However, due to a slightly different curvature on the case, the new model sort of feels lighter in hands than the older model.

Further, the secondary microphone hole on the Enco Buds is tiny, and even the ‘OPPO’ branding on the case is smaller. There are also L and R markings inside the case, which are not found in the W11’s case. Lastly, there’s an LED indicator on the front and a USB Type-C port on the rear.

Interestingly, the Enco Bud’s charging case has a loose lid and it does not feel as good as that of Enco W11 in hands. Also, the retail packaging is of lower quality when compared to the previous model.

Connectivity and Controls

The OPPO Enco Buds arrive with Bluetooth 5.2 instead of Bluetooth 5.0. They also have support for quick pairing on devices running ColorOS. In my usage, they never got disconnected from any of the devices I used them with.

OPPO Enco Buds Review Earbuds 3

Like almost all the TWS earphones in the market, these also have touch gesture controls, which work fine without any issue. Users can even customize controls using the HeyMelody companion app. This application can be also used for firmware upgrades.

It is worth noting that the Enco W11 are not compatible with the HeyMelody app.

Sound and Microphone Quality

The OPPO Enco Buds offer a well-tuned sound stage for the price. They also mitigate almost all the issues with their forerunner OPPO Enco W11.

First and foremost, the Enco Buds are louder. For those unaware, the biggest con of Enco W11 is the lower volume level. Secondly, the new model also produces a good amount of bass when compared to its predecessor.

OPPO Enco Buds Review White 2

That’s not all, there’s also a fine amount of instrument separation. However, the timbre and treble could have been better.

Also, It would have been nice if these buds were capable of outputting better clarity. But we cannot expect everything from an entry-level TWS product, can we?

In simpler words, the audio quality of OPPO Enco Buds is commendable for its price. One might find its flaws only if they have used more expensive truly wireless earphones.

OPPO Enco Buds Review Earbuds 2

The same can be also said about its microphone performance. It is way better than that of OPPO Enco W11. However, the ENC (Electronic Noise Cancellation) for calls is not as great as what the company advertises.

In addition to providing an overall good sound experience, the OPPO Enco Buds also offer the best in-ear fit I have ever experienced. Do note that everyone has differently shaped ears, and therefore, this statement could differ from person to person. But I believe these buds should be perfect for most people because of their tiny footprint.

Battery and Charging

The OPPO Enco Buds are rated to last up to 6 hours on a single charge and up to 24 hours with the charging case. The battery life I got out of these earbuds was on par with the company’s claim, which is impressive.

OPPO Enco Buds Review Case USB-C

On the other hand, the OPPO Enco W11 offers around 5 hours of battery life on a single and only about 20 hours with the charging case. It is fascinating to note that both models have the exact same-sized batteries (buds: 40mAh, case: 400mAh) but only one offers more endurance.

OPPO Enco Buds Review Contact Pins

As far as charging is concerned, both the charging cases use a USB Type-C port and take around 150 minutes to charge fully. Lastly, the new model uses a silver-colored connector to charge the buds instead of golden-colored connectors found inside the older model.

Verdict

The OPPO Enco Buds are priced at ₹1,999 ($27) in India. At this price, it is an easy recommendation for the package they offer. For the first three days of the sale starting September 14 till 16, they will be selling at an even cheaper price tag of ₹1,799 ($24).

OPPO Enco Buds Review logo

I used to recommend OPPO Enco W11 to anyone looking for TWS earbuds under ₹2000 ($27) since their release last year. Although these truly wireless earphones debuted at ₹2,499 ($34), they are usually on sale for ₹1,999 ($27) or even less up to ₹1,499 ($20) most of the time.

Hence, I believe we can expect similar discounts on the OPPO Enco Buds in the near future. As a result, more people could get access to this new pair of wireless earbuds from OPPO.

Apple’s Back to School Promotion suggests October Event for new Mac and iPad is imminent

Apple is all set to host an event tomorrow which will be virtual and is expected to be a center stage for the iPhone 13, Watch Series 7, and 3rd-gen AirPods. From what rumors have suggested so far, Apple may have plans for an additional event to unveil the new Mac and iPad models. MacRumors believe that Apple’s Annual Back to School promotion end date could decide when the next event might take place.

Apple MacBook M1 Featured

Last year, Apple decided to extend its Back to School promotion till October 12, and we witnessed an event on October 13, just a day after the promotion ended. As for this year, the Back to School promotion is ending on September 27 in the U.S. but going by the theory, having two events in September is less likely. However, the promotion is ending on October 11 in Europe, which makes more sense, and it is highly likely that we could witness an event on October 12.

Feasibility and planning this event, all lie with Apple, but it definitely is possible. Again, this is just a theory, and we have no other option but to wait for an official word to come from Apple.

In all likelihood, there will be an additional event this fall that will be dedicated to the upcoming Macs and iPads. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman suggests that there are going to be only two events this fall. Whatever the case, we will find it out soon.
