Earlier we reported that Honor would soon launch a new color variant for its Honor 50 in China. Today, the Chinese phone maker has tossed the all-new color named ‘Code’ in the region.
The Honor 50 Code color variant is the fifth color in the palette. The other four colors are Midnight Black, Frost Crystal, Amber Red, and Emerald Green. The Code color brings a unique color variant to the series. It has each letter from the brand’s Honor branding printed on the back of the device.
The new color is priced at CNY 2,699(roughly $417) and will go on sale starting September 3rd in China.

The Honor 50 comes with a 6.57-inch curved display with a Full-HD+ resolution. It has a 120Hz refresh rate and 300Hz touch sampling rate. It has a quad-rear camera system with a 108MP primary lens, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, a 2MP macro lens, and lastly a 2MP mono sensor. At the front, it has 32MP selfie snapper.
Under the hood, it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. It packs a 4,300mAh battery with 66W fast charging technology. Honor claims that it will go from 0% to 70% in just 20 minutes of charging. The smartphone has an under-display fingerprint scanner for security and boots on Android 11 out of the box with Magic UI 4.2 on top of it.

Furthermore, the sources also revealed that apart from the waterdrop notch, the handset will also offer a curved edge design as well. This new model will reportedly be a part of the brand’s Vision series of budget smartphones. Unfortunately, finer details like specifications and pricing of the device is unknown as of right now. Although, the sources did state that the affordable phone will arrive with an 8 megapixel dual rear cameras along with a 5 megapixel front facing shooter.

In other words, a 6.5 inch display can reach a size of up to 11 inch to achieve a tablet format. This is basically the size offered by modern day foldable smartphones. Furthermore, it is also quite a practical design and could very well a Mate series of phone that launches sometime in the future. The lack of a hinge and folding mechanism could also ensure no creases being formed on the surface of the display as well. The front side may even house an in display camera technology, while the rear offers a triple camera setup. Keep in mind that this is still a patent and it is unknown if the company is actually working on such a product.
