Honor is expected to unveil the Magic 8 and Magic 8 Pro smartphones on Oct. 15 in China, both powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Fresh leaks indicate that the two models will share similarities in their camera systems but will stand apart in terms of displays, battery capacity and charging technology. Here is an overview of the rumored specifications of both devices.
Honor Magic 8 specifications (rumored)

The base Magic 8 is expected to sport a 6.58-inch flat display with 1.5K resolution. It could include a 7,000mAh battery with 90W wired charging, but unlike the Pro edition, it is not expected to support wireless charging.
The rear camera system is tipped to combine a 50-megapixel lens, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto unit, along with a red maple camera sensor. For those who don’t know, the red maple camera sensor is a multispectral or spectral-color imaging sensor intended to improve color accuracy, especially under varying lighting conditions. On the front, the phone may carry a 50-megapixel selfie camera. Color choices for this model are expected to include black, white, light blue and gold.
Honor Magic 8 Pro specifications (rumored)
The Honor Magic 8 Pro is said to feature a 6.71-inch micro-quad-curved screen with 1.5K resolution. Powering it could be a 7,200mAh battery paired with 120W wired and 80W wireless charging.
The rear setup is expected to include a 50-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide, a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens and the distinctive red maple colour sensor. A 50-megapixel selfie camera is also likely on the front.
The Magic 8 Pro is said to weigh around 222 grams, but the company is likely to advertise a lower value. It is tipped to arrive in black, white and blue finishes, though its availability in gold is still uncertain.
Apart from the Magic 8 series, Honor is also expected to launch the MagicPad 3 Pro tablet. This flagship device is said to include the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, a 13.3-inch LCD screen with 3.2K resolution and 165Hz refresh rate, and a sizeable 12,450mAh battery.
