Furthermore, he has also worked with Citibank N.A for about 15 years as well. In the e-commerce business, Nakra was the National Head for Liabilities and Regional Lead across India, Greater China, and even South Korea for the company. A few weeks ago, we reported that Vivo was ceding its U-series and V-series of smartphones to iQOO. The first U-series phone under iQOO has been reported to arrive as the iQOO U1. More details have now surfaced about the phone.
According to Digital Chat Station, the new iQOO U-series smartphone will have 5G support and will be targeted at the low-end market. The phone is said to be on the way soon.
While the main specs are still unknown, we believe the iQOO U1 will be powered by the Dimensity 800 or Dimensity 820 processors. These two MediaTek chipsets are designed for budget 5G devices, so it makes sense that iQOO will make use of one of them.
We expect more details regarding the specs, design, and price of the phone will surface as time goes on.
Vivo’s U-series and V-series are also sold outside China and this upcoming iQOO U1 will be the first 5G smartphone of the series. It will be interesting if iQOO announces it outside China, maybe even in India as the first budget 5G smartphone in the country.
The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic resulted in the cancellation of tech events this year. We are almost half-past 2020 but the only major tech event hat has taken place so far is CES 2020. But the situation may change in the second half of the year as IFA 2020 has been confirmed to take place with some restrictions.
Yesterday, IFA held a virtual press conference in which the executive director Jens Heithecker confirmed the 2020 show to run from September 3rd to 5th in Berlin. He also revealed that they are working closely with public health authorities in Germany to ensure social distancing, careful crowd control and other effective public hygiene measures.
IFA 2020 will include four events, out of which three events will be held parallelly in a different building for three days. Also, the attendees to each of these events will be limited to 1,000 at a time. Most importantly, all these events will be invite-only and thus they will be closed for the public,
The four IFA 2020 events are as listed below.
IFA Global Press Conference
Limited to two to three keynotes stages
Opening keynote by Qualcomm president Cristiano Amon
About 800 journalists
IFA Next and Shift Mobility
For startups and automotive companies
IFA Global Markets
For OEMs and ODMs to build their supply chain
IFA Business Lounges
Meeting spaces and lounges for companies
CES, IFA, and MWC are the largest annual tech events that help companies to build new relationships and further their businesses. These conferences play a key role in the products general public have access to in their daily lives.
With all that being said, COVID-19 cases are still rising across all regions and thus many people may not attend IFA 2020. Anyway, we will have to wait and see as the event is scheduled to take place after four months from now.
Earlier this year, Nubia had launched its 2020 5G flagship, the Red Magic 5G. The handset is already available in many countries across the globe in different color options. Now, a fourth and special variant is also making its way to the market, which is the Transparent Edition.
The Red Magic 5G Transparent Edition is now available for pre-orders in China. It will go for a price of 4,599 Yuan (roughly 647 US Dollars). This is for the 12GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage variant. Despite its name having the word transparent, the smartphone’s rear panel isn’t actually see through. Rather, the back panel actually has a special sticker on the inside of the protective glass, which showcases where key internal components are housed.
According to the Nubia, one can see the actual fan spinning around, but that is just a marketing gimmick at this point since its just a rendition and not the actual component being visible. Apart from the special rear panel, the handset is similar to a regular Red Magic 5G. It still sports its 144Hz refresh rate display and features top notch specs like Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 SoC.
At the moment, pre-orders for the Nubia Red Magic 5G is currently available on JD.com. However, the actual sale will begin on the 31st of May 2020. The launch is also hinted to announce a new 16GB RAM variant of the Red Magic 5G. Although, this has yet to be officially confirmed by the company. So stay tuned.
Gan Bin, the Vice President of the Huawei Wireless Product line, revealed a few interesting developments regarding 5G networking in China. The Chinese tech giant has apparently built over 200,000 5G base stations in its home countries thus far and expects 800,000 to be in place by the year end.
The company has even built 5G base stations on Mount Everest
The senior executive shared the report during the company’s Global Analyst Summit 2020. According to Gan Bin, Chinese telecom operators have constructed 200K sites at the moment and will hit the 800K mark by the end of 2020, covering 340 different cities. The speeds of the data transfer rates are showcasing a ten fold increase of 5G over the previous gen 4G.
Notably, these Massive MIMO using TDD spectrum that enables 5G networking also supports the legacy 4G networks as well. This ensures maximum coverage in both indoor and outdoor environments. For those unaware, the main drawback of the newer and faster bandwidth is coverage. With each passing generation, it becomes harder for the signal to penetrate various surfaces over great distances for consistent network performance. 5G suffers heavily from this, so telecom operators generally tend to find a middle ground in this scenario of speed and coverage.
We had previously reported on China edging out in the 5G race against the US, and this report reveals more of the same. The country was one of the first to adopt the new generation of networking standards and is already utilizing it to a varying degree of roles and functions within numerous regions.

OnePlus entered the smart TV market last year with its OnePlus TV Q1 / Q1 Pro. These televisions are still limited to India, the company’s largest market. They are yet to be a year old but the company is already set to launch a newer model with an updated processor.
1 of 2
A new OnePlus TV and OnePlus Remote Control have been recently spotted by 9to5Google on Bluetooth SIG (Special Interest Group). The only info they can garner is that this new TV with model number ‘55UA0A00’ could be powered by an updated processor and will feature a 55-inch panel.
Additionally, it will also come with a new remote, which is strange as most brands use the same remote for their particular series or even whole portfolio in some cases.
The already available TV models are powered by MediaTek MT5670 chipset. This chip was only unveiled a day before the launch of OnPlus TV Q1 / Q1 Pro. Hence, the same could happen for the upcoming TV as well.
Further, the OnePlus TV Q1 series sport a 55-inch QLED panel and run Android TV with OxygenPlay content integration service in partnership with multiple OTT platforms. The only difference between the ‘Regular’ and the ‘Pro’ version is the inclusion of retractable speakers.
The OnePlus TV Q1 and Q1 Pro retail for ₹69,899 ($923) and ₹99,899 ($1,399) in India.

A screenshot of comparing AnTuTu benchmark scores of Dimensity 820 SoC and Snapdragon 765G SoC has surfaced online which shows the former scoring 406,664 points while the later managed to score 325,155 points.
When compared, it seems that the Dimensity 820 is surpassing its Snapdragon counterpart in every segment, be it CPU, GPU, Memory or User Experience (UX).
Coming to the chipset’s specifications, the MediaTek Dimensity 820 offers four high-performance Arm Cortex-A76 cores at 2.6GHz and four Arm Cortex-A74 cores at 2.0GHz. It is claimed to deliver superb performance and responsiveness, among its incredible AI, gaming and photography experiences.

In a bid to move more Huawei subsidiaries into its Entity List, the US Department of Commerce has now flagged Huawei India as well. This arrives after the Trump administration cut off chip supplies from TSMC to Huawei and is a move to pressure the Chinese group further.
In recent weeks, the trade dispute between the US and China have risen again, despite the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic affecting both nations. The former had often accused Huawei Technologies of being a front for the Chinese government and alleged espionage, which the latter and the consumer electronics vendor denied on numerous occasions. Now, Huawei and more of its affiliates based out of the US have been added to the Entity List, where they face a trade ban.
For those unaware, the Entity List by the US Commerce Department is essentially a blacklist that bans companies or organizations found in the list to interact with US based companies. In other words, cutting off trade, technology, collaboration, and more. According to the US, “Huawei is an untrustworthy vendor and a tool of the Chinese Communist Party, beholden to its orders.”
Thus, even Huawei Technologies India Private Limited has been added to the list. The US State Department stated that they have “engaged for more than a year to share what we know about Huawei and other untrustworthy vendors with allies and partners around the world.” So by banning the Chinese group, the country is effectively cutting off any “loopholes” that Huawei was using to exploit US technology and threaten national security.
Recently, Xiaomi announced that the company will be launching a new smart speaker in its home country China on 21st May, without revealing any details about the upcoming product. Now, just a day before the official launch, the company has teased its build.
In a new teaser image shared by Xiaomi on its Weibo account, the company has confirmed that the upcoming XiaoAI Smart Speaker will come with a metal body. This will be the first time that a smart speaker from Xiaomi powered by XiaoAI will have a metallic body.
It seems that the company is trying to place the product in the premium range witch such differentiating factor. This makes sense given that Xiaomi has tons of speaker products in the market, which mostly are in the same budget price bracket.
Along with teasing the upcoming smart speaker a few days ago, Xiaomi had also revealed a new milestone in terms of sales. The company had said that the sales of XiaoAI speakers have crossed the 22 million units mark.
While the company has revealed that the upcoming speaker will have metal body, nothing about the device in terms of specifications has been revealed and oddly, nothing has been leaked so far. However, the launch is just a few hours away so we don’t have to wait longer to know what it packs, how it’s priced and when it’ll be available for purchase.
For those who are unaware, XiaoAI is a smart AI-powered voice assistant from Xiaomi, similar to Apple Siri and Google Assistant, but it is built specially for Xiaomi and Redmi products and is currently limited to the Chinese market.

The Google Pixel line of smartphones was introduced in 2017. All the predecessor Pixel phones have featured flagship chipsets from Qualcomm. Some reports have revealed that the search engine giant will adopt a different strategy for the Pixel 5 series. Rumors have it that they will not be coming as flagship smartphones. XDA has reported that it has found evidences in the EUICCGoogle APK available in Android 11 Developer Preview 4 that Pixel 5 will be powered by Snapdragon 765 or Snapdragon 768 SoC.
In January, it was found that upcoming Pixel phones are codenamed as Sunfish, Bramble, and Redfin. The Sunfish phone is said to be the upcoming Snapdragon 730 powered Pixel 4a phone. The Bramble and Redfin are codenames of flagship Pixel phones arrive later this year. These phones are expected to break cover as Pixel 5 and Pixel 5 XL. This pricing is $100 cheaper the pricing of predecessor Pixel 4 and Pixel 3 phones that came with flagship processors. The Chinese firm also confirmed that the Axon 11 SE will be made official on June 1. Recently, a new ZTE phone with model number ZTE 900N had surfaced on the database of China’s TENAA telecom authority. It seems to be the upcoming Axon 11 SE smartphone.
The TENAA listing states that the ZTE 900N is a 5G-ready handset. Its TENAA is fueled by an octa-core processor that works at 2.0GHz. According to a trustworthy Chinese tipster, it is fueled by the Dimensity 800 5G SoC.
The alleged Axon 11 SE has a 6.53-inch display that is equipped with a punch-hole at the top-left corner. It seems to feature an LCD screen that supports 1080 x 2340 pixels. The Android 10 OS along with the latest MiFavor UI will come preloaded on the smartphone.

Logitech is well known for its range of keyboards, mouse and other accessories. The firm also has a home camera range dubbed Circle. The product line includes the Circle and Circle 2 cameras. Right now, a new product known as Logitech Circle View camera has been unveiled.
In terms of the specs, the Circle View is almost similar to its predecessor, the Circle 2. However, the design is quite different as the View’s camera housing has been completely redesigned. Also, the new model relies solely on Apple’s smart home system to function.
The Circle View is capable of recording 1080p videos and has a wide 180-degree field of view. The camera can capture infrared footage at night up to 15 feet away. The camera only supports WiFi 2.4GHz.
As regards working with Apple’s HomeKit smart home system, the camera is capable of streaming videos, send alerts about animals, people, and vehicles, and store recordings in iCloud if you are on a plan with enough storage. There’s no Android support but we could see that happen in the near future.
The major hardware change is in the design as it features a regular camera housing unlike the Circle 2 which uses a modular design. The camera housing has a sleek, black design and metal base. The camera also has an IP64 weatherproof rating making it suitable for use outdoors. The power cable is integrated and there’s no battery option, but it connects via USB so you might be able to sub in a power bank if you want to use it somewhere without a plug.
Perhaps, the feature that might interest buyers the most is the inclusion of a pair of nice privacy features to the camera. The first one is the ability to tilt the camera downwards to face its base so that you can easily block it from seeing anything. The second is a hardware button on the back that lets you shut off the camera and microphone so nothing is being monitored.
Logitech Circle View will be sold by Logitech and Apple later this month. It comes with a $160 price tag.
