For anyone on a search for a mid-range phone, there are several options to choose from, especially if you reside in India and if your budget is just INR 10,000 (~$139). Realme and Redmi (Xiaomi) are the two manufacturers ruling this category, so you most likely will end up with a phone from either of the two brands.
For this week’s poll, we are asking our readers which of the following three devices they will purchase if they have INR 10,000 to buy a new phone. Is it the Realme 5 with its massive 5000mAh battery, the Realme 5s which adds a 48MP camera to its quad-camera setup, or the Redmi Note 8 with its FHD+ display and support for 18W fast charging?
So, please do take the poll and also drop a comment telling us the reason(s) for your choice.
Huawei launched a brand new flagship killer: Honor V30. At a very modest price, it offers incredibly powerful hardware and a complete specs sheet. But Huawei actually has to compete with two other Chinese manufacturers in the affordable high-end phone segment: Xiaomi and Oppo. The former recently launched the Mi Note 10 with an amazing camera department, while the latter came up with the Oppo Reno2. All of these devices are focused on the quality-price ratio and they are among the most wanted phones for people who cannot afford the most expensive flagship. Here is a comparison between their specifications.

Design
When it comes to the design it is all a matter of tastes, but I personally think Oppo Reno2 is superior. It has a more original glass back and a full borderless display without a notch or other interruptions. The phone features a shark fin pop-up camera which makes notches and holes unnecessary so that the phone can provide a full borderless experience. Oppo Reno2 also comes with a high builds quality, including a Gorilla Glass 5 back, a Gorilla Glass 6 front glass, and an aluminum frame. Xiaomi Mi Note 10 and Honor V30 still provide a very elegant look: the first has a great curved edge-to-edge display, while the second has a punch-hole display and a very modern form factor.
Display
The most convincing display is the one of the Xiaomi Mi Note 10. First of all, it is able to provide a higher image quality, thanks to the HDR10 technology and DCI P3 coverage. It even provides very high brightness with a peak of 600 nits. Right after, there is Oppo Reno2 with a still flawless AMOLED display, but it does not support HDR that is why we put it in second place. Honor V30 has a classic IPS display like the ones you can find on most mid-rangers.
Hardware/Software
While both Oppo Reno2 and Xiaomi Mi Note 10 have midrange-class hardware, Honor V30 is actually a flagship. It is fueled by the latest Huawei’s flagship chipset: Kirin 990. And it even supports 5G connectivity. Alongside the chipset, there are up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of internal storage. Xiaomi Mi Note 10 and Oppo Reno 2 are both powered by the Snapdragon 730G, but only the Oppo Reno2 has an 8/256 GB configuration, while the Mi Note 10 only comes with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB of native storage.
Camera
Xiaomi Mi Note 10 is the king of camera phones. We believe its 108 MP penta-camera currently has only one rival, and it is not the Honor V30 and neither the Oppo Reno2. The camera department of the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 includes OIS and 5x optical zoom, as well as a dedicated macro camera and an ultrawide sensor. While Xiaomi Mi Note 10 wins the rear camera comparison, Honor V30 offers a better selfie setup with a 32 + 8 MP dual camera and wide angle. Oppo Reno2 is still an amazing camera phone, but its photo quality does not reach the Xiaomi Mi Note 10.
Battery
Xiaomi Mi Note 10 packs a mammoth 5260 mAh battery and it lasts up to three days on a single charge. It is the winner of the battery comparison, while Honor V30 and Oppo Reno2 offer a similar battery life with their 4200 and 4000 mAh units, respectively.
Price
Honor V30 made its debut in China with a €430/$474 price tag (it will go global in 2020), Xiaomi Mi Note 10 starts from €599/$660 globally but it is easy to find it at €450 thanks to online street prices, while Oppo Reno2 costs €499/$550. Overall, Xiaomi Mi Note 10 is the best phone if you are searching for the best camera and longest battery life, while Honor V30 has superior performances and offers 5G. Oppo Reno2 offers better aesthetics and still great cameras. Which one would you pick?
The Lenovo K10 Note and Lenovo K10 Plus series may be getting a new member soon. Certification documents have revealed the name of the upcoming device is the Lenovo K10. The documents also include live images of the phone, which to be honest, show the device is just a rebranded Motorola E6 Plus.
The Lenovo K10 has been certified in Taiwan and the documents reveal its model number is XT2025-3. The live photos show its display has a waterdrop notch and there are two cameras on the rear that are stacked vertically. The phone also has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Lenovo K10 NCC
Lenovo K10 NCC
The back of the phone has a polished appearance that it is quite reflective and will get smudged easily. There is a MicroUSB port at the bottom and it is flanked on the right by the speaker grille and on the left by the primary microphone. On the right side of the phone are the buttons while the top is home to the audio jack.
The Lenovo K10 has a removable 3000mAh battery. However, while the Moto E6 Plus supports 10W charging, the NCC documents show the phone will ship with a 5W charger.
Since this is just the Moto E6 Plus with a new name, the Lenovo K10 will arrive with a 6.1-inch HD+ display, an HelioP22 processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB of expandable storage, 13MP + 2MP dual rear cameras, and an 8MP selfie camera. It should run Android 9 Pie when it launches and should have a price tag similar to that of the Moto E6 Plus.
The Vivo V17 Pro already launched back in September and has even received price cuts in some markets. Vivo announced a non-pro model in Russia last month and is set to announce it in India on December 9. However, a new leak has confirmed that the Vivo V17 launching in India will have a different design from the Russian variant.
We already knew the Indian version will look different, at least with respect to the front, thanks to a launch poster that was released last week. Now photos of the device have leaked and they show the phone will not only look different on the front but also on the rear.
The source of the leak is 91Mobiles and it is a promotional image showing the device in the color variants it will be available in. The phone sports a punch-hole display, with the hole positioned at the top right corner. It has been reported that the display will be called iView display and it will measure 6.44-inches in size with an FHD+ (1080 x 2340) resolution.
On the back, the Vivo V17 for India ditches the diamond-shape camera housing for one similar to that of the Smartisan Nut Pro 3. However, the fourth sensor is placed at the bottom instead of at the top. The LED flash also has a different design. This camera design will be pretty popular next year. Leaks have even revealed that Samsung’s S11 series, as well as the Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A71, will adopt the same rear camera design with the differences boiling down to the number of cameras and the position of the sensors.
The source has also revealed that the Vivo V17 for India will have a 48MP f/1.8 primary rear camera, an 8MP f/2.2 secondary camera, and two 2MP sensors. There is no mention of the selfie camera’s specification but it is believed to be a 32MP sensor.
The phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 665 with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage that can be expanded. There is also an in-display fingerprint scanner and a 4500mAh battery with support for 18W fast charge via a USB Type-C port. When the phone launches next week, it will be available in Glacier Ice and Midnight Ocean and an expected price tag below INR 20,000 (~$279).

Another month, another bunch of Xiaomi smart products launched or crowdfunded. Thanks to a lot of start-ups it is supporting through its crowdfunding platform and its huge profits, Xiaomi is one of the most prolific companies in the hi-tech sector. Just like the rest of this year, even this month the Chinese giant released and announced a lot of smart products. And most of them are smart and/or connected devices. That is why, in order to let you discover the most innovative things of the month, we made a selection of the best Xiaomi smart products released and crowdfunded in November 2019.
Best Xiaomi smart products of the month
Xiaomi Mi TV 5 Pro
Unlike most of Xiaomi TVs, the Mi TV 5 Pro is a flagship-class smart TV. It is the first from the brand to sport a Quantum Dot QLED display with an 8K resolution, as well as the support to HDR10+, MEMC motion compensation, Dolby Audio sound, DTS HD, and 108 percent NTSC color gamut. Besides delivering an incredibly high image quality, the Xiaomi Mi TV 5 Pro is also a smart TV, just like every Xiaomi TV. It is powered by the Amlogic T972 chipset paired with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of native storage. It integrates the PatchWall AI assistant and, even though it is smart and high-end, it comes with an amazing design. Indeed, it is just 5.9mm thin and it has an aluminum screwless body. Xiaomi Mi TV 5 Pro debuted in China in three variants with 55, 65 and 75-inch monitors. The base model sells for about $537 at the actual change (3,699 Yuan).
The Mi Watch is Xiaomi’s first Wear OS smartwatch and it is the smartest and most attractive one for power users. The company defined it as a small smartphone on your wrist. It has an Apple Watch-like design with a square-shaped display. The screen is a 1.78-inch AMOLED panel with a 326 ppi pixel density and the body is made of metal and ceramic. It runs the world’s first customization of Wear OS (MIUI) and it is powered by the Snapdragon Wear 3100 4G that is the most powerful chipset for wearables. It even packs the biggest battery ever implemented on a smartwatch, with a 570 mAh capacity and up to two days of battery life on a single charge. It features 4G connectivity, NFC, GPS, and eSIM support, as well as the XiaoAI virtual assistant and an in-built app store with more than 40 optimized apps, including WeChat. Xiaomi Mi Watch is available in China for about $185 in its base version.
With Xiaomi even your bed becomes smart. Through its ecological chain enterprise, Xiaomi realized and launched the 8HMilan Smart Electric Bed. It is an electric bed you can control through a button and voice commands. Thanks to these solutions, you can lift it up to the desired angle in order to get the best comfort and relax. The bed works with a dual-motor mechanism thanks to which the upper and the lower half of the bed can be controlled independently, raising up to 60 and 30 degrees, respectively. There are several positions available: flat mode, anti-snore mode, reading mode, TV mode, and zero-gravity mode. Crowdfunding will start on December 3 and it will cost $285.
Xiaomi took on Amazon and its Kindle by announcing its first ebook reader. It is called Mi Reader and it went in crowdfunding in China with a price tag of 579 Yuan which roughly translates into $83 (the launch price will be 599 Yuan). The ebook reader features a 6-inch e-ink display with a 1024 x 768p resolution and a 212 ppi pixel density. It is an anti-glare display with front-lit LED lights you can adjust based on the light conditions around you. The ebook reader runs Android 8.1 Oreo and features a 16 GB internal storage which can contain up to 5,000 books. It has a 1,800 mAh battery providing several weeks of battery life that can be charged through a USB-C port.
Despite it is not a variant of its latest fitness tracker, Xiaomi launched a brand new variant of the Mi Band 3 in India: its name is Mi Band 3i. For those who can not afford the new Mi Band 4 with its color display, there is the new Mi Band 3i sold with a $25 price tag in the Indian peninsula. It is essentially a Mi Band 3 without a heart rate sensor. The wearable is waterproof up to 5 atm and provides a battery life of up to 20 days thanks to a 110 mAh battery and an efficient AMOLED display with a size of 0.78 inches.
It looks like a smartphone, but it is not exactly so. It is the Xiaomi Mijia Translator, manufactured by Qingping Technology Co. Ltd. which is one of Xiaomi’s ecological chain companies. It launched in China with a $184 price tag and comes with a 6-microphone array to detect the voice and improve the accuracy of the translation. It even comes with a 4.1-inch HD LCD display and a camera through which you can shoot photos at the text you need to translate from a foreign language. It supports 18 different languages and 170 different countries.
Last but not least, the amazing Xiaomi Mijia Laser Projector launched in China for 4999 Yuan. In a compact build, you can find not only a laser projector but also the same MIUI customization present on Mi TVs allowing to interact with Xiaomi’s ecosystem and smart home appliances. It has a brightness of 2400 ANSI lumens and over 85 percent NTSC color gamut. It also packs 10W stereo speakers and it can project images up to 150 inches with 8K video decoding.
A few days ago, Huawei announced it had shipped 1 million units of the Watch GT 2. We were quite impressed with the figure seeing as it took just 45 days to reach the milestone and that the watch isn’t even yet available in India which is a key market. Huawei has now announced that the smartwatch will be launched in India on December 5.
Huawei India has already put up a page where you can sign up to be notified when the watch is available. Based on the details on the page, we know the 46mm version of the watch will be available in three variants – Sport, Classic, and Elite Editions while the 42mm version will only be available in one variant – Sport Edition. Sorry but Huawei will not be selling the Elegant and Classic Editions of the 42mm version in India.
The Watch GT 2 will be sold by Amazon India and Flipkart as well as at offline stores but we have no idea what the price will be.
The Huawei Watch GT 2 has a Kirin A1 processor, Bluetooth 5.1, Bluetooth Calling, Music Playback, Sleep and Stress Monitoring, GPS, and boasts a battery life of up to 2 weeks. It can track several exercise activities including swimming and elliptical training.
When it comes to updating its phones (including flagships), LG is pretty terrible at it. However, the Korean manufacturer seems to be making moves to improve its poor track record. It has now been reported that the LG G8 ThinQ is receiving a stable Android 10 update. But that isn’t the only exciting news. You can also grab a brand new unit on Amazon for just $399!!! Awesome, right?
Last month, the LG G8 ThinQ, the LG V50 ThinQ, and the LG V50S ThinQ 5G began receiving Android 10 beta stable update in LG’s home country. Just a month later and a stable update is already rolling out to the 2019 flagship.
The update arrives with version number G820N20x and it comes bundled with November 2019’s security patch. There are no details on the new LG features the update brings but expect Android 10 features such as smart reply, a new navigation system, and dark mode.
The update is rolling out in Korea at the moment and may take a few weeks before it arrives in other markets.
If you are on the search for a new phone under $500, then the LG G8 ThinQ is currently on sale on Amazon for just $399. That is a great deal considering the phone launched for $850. It is important to state that the phone has actually been discounted multiple times over the past couple of months but this seems to be its lowest price yet. We do not know how long the deal will last or how much stock Amazon has, so you may want to hurry.
The LG G8 ThinQ has a 6.1-inch QHD+ OLED FullVision display with a notch at the top. There is a Snapdragon 855 processor under the hood paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage. The phone has a 16MP primary camera paired with a 12MP ultrawide angle camera on the rear while the front is home to an 8MP camera. LG has also buried some sensors in the notch for what it calls Air Motion which allows you to control the phone with certain hand gestures.
There is a 3500mAh battery under the hood with support for 21W fast charging and wireless charging. It also has an IP68 rating, Crystal Sound OLED which uses the display as a speaker, NFC, and an audio jack. There is Face ID, a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, and Amazon’s Alexa assistant on board.
Redmi K30 5G is confirmed to launch on December 10 in China. We had an idea that the K30 would feature dual-punch hole front cameras and vertically placed rear cameras. Today, we have spotted some unofficial renders of the upcoming device on Weibo. The renders reveal a dual punch-hole camera on top and a centrally placed vertical cameras at the back.
We can’t figure out much about the rear cameras at the back, however, it looks like a quad-camera in a pill-shaped arrangement at the center. Unfortunately, that’s all we can speculate from this tiny image.
Note that this is an unofficial render of the Redmi K30 and we can’t guarantee the authenticity of the images.
The Redmi K30 will be the first 5G smartphone from the Redmi brand featuring both standalone and non-standalone network support. It will also be the first phone to feature the ‘world’s first high-resolution’ sensor. It’s likely that the new model comes with a Snapdragon 7XX series processor with integrated 5G. Given its high-end placement, we can expect a pretty powerful camera setup at the back with a large battery and fast charging.
Unfortunately, we don’t have a lot of information about the device. But we can expect a lot more details via official and unofficial sources in the coming days.
According to a new report coming from DigiTimes, Apple is considering bundling its TWS earphones Apple AirPods with the company’s upcoming iPhone 2020 models. The report claims that “smartphone vendors including Apple, Samsung, and Xiaomi are looking to bundle their new models with TWS earbuds next year.”
The report is citing unnamed industry sources for this but given that DigiTimes has hit-or-miss reputation when it comes to such reports, we’d advise you to take this report with a pinch of salt. Even we are sceptical about this given the pricing of AirPods.
Apple AirPods Pro
Apple AirPods cost a few hundred dollars and it is hard to image Apple including such costly accessory in the box of upcoming iPhone and offer them for free. It will not be possible for the company to bundle them without increasing the costing, which seems unlikely.
Also, it’s not like the AirPods are not getting sold. They are widely popular and Apple won’t be offering them for free when millions of customers are happy spending a few hundred dollars on purchasing them.
The Apple AirPods Pro, which recently went official with the much-anticipated active noise cancelling feature, are so popular and in high demand that the company has also ordered to increase their production.
So far, Apple has included the company’s basic wired EarPods which comes with a Lightning connector in the box. Those earphones likely cost Apple very little to manufacture since they are retailing for just $29 on its website.
The only reason Apple could include AirPods in the box from next year seems to that Apple simply feels it is time to include something more modern than EarPods with its iPhones. Apple AirPods are the world’s bestselling TWS earphones and if the company indeed bundles them with the iPhone, its lead in the market will increase. It’s still a long time for the new iPhone models to get launched, so let’s just wait and watch what happens.
Huawei Nova 6 5G is all set to launch on December 5 in China. Now, a week before the official launch event, Huawei has opened up reservations for the device on stores like Huawei Mall (Vmall.com) in China. The reservation page bares the complete design of the upcoming smartphone, including two storage variants, 8GB RAM + 128GB and 8GB RAM + 256GB.
1 of 4
The Huawei Nova 5G reservation page also bares the complete design of the handset. The phone will come in four color options: Black, Blue, Purple-Blue gradient, and a special Red shade. The Red color version is special because it comes with the Nova 6 print all over the body. It’s subtle and looks pretty unique.
Apart from the colors, the images also confirm that the Nova 6 5G will come with a dual punch-hole display on the front and a quad-camera setup at the back. We can also see a fingerprint sensor on the right side of the device. Finally, the company has confirmed that there will be a 4G version of the device as well.
The Huawei Nova 6 5G could be housing the same 6.57-inch IPS LCD display that is available on the Honor V30. The punch-hole houses two cameras sensors out of which one is a 32-megapixel sensor. The company has confirmed that the phone will allow the user to capture 105-degree wide-angle selfie shots.
The phone is expected to come equipped with a Sony IMX686 60-megapixel quad-camera setup on its back. We could also see the Kirin 810 powered Nova 6 SE smartphone alongside Nova 6 on Dec. 5.
Yesterday, we compared the newly-announced Honor V30 Pro with two high-end phones at the center of the attention during the last period: Huawei Mate 30 and Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro. But they are not the only smartphones you can opt for if you want a device in the same price range of the Honor V30 Pro, which is a so-called affordable flagship. We think it is a fool not to compare the new handset from Huawei’s sub-brand to the latest flagship of another sub-brand which is making a huge success in the global market: the Realme X2 Pro. And we decided to include another important device in this comparison, which is one of the few affordable 5G handsets: Vivo iQOO Pro 5G.

Design
Notch has never been the most wanted solution to get rid of display bezels, that is why smartphone manufacturers always try to find new solutions to reduce the bezels without the need for a notch. One of these solutions is the punch-hole display and, in my opinion, that is what makes Honor V30 Pro more beautiful than Realme X2 Pro and Vivo iQOO Pro 5G, alongside its slightly different form factor. But you should also note that Vivo iQOO Neo Pro 5G has a very original look and it is a more compact device, keep that in mind if you do not like smartphones with big dimensions.
Display
Realme X2 Pro’s display is simply astonishing. It is the best screen you can currently find on a smartphone sold for less than €400. It supports the HDR10+ technology, it provides a full DCI P3 coverage and it even has a 90 Hz refresh rate. Simply a perfect display for both gamers and multimedia lovers. It only lacks the Quad HD+ resolution or it would be at the same level as the most expensive flagships. But, you know, a Quad HD+ resolution on a smartphone does not make a lot of difference. If you want a great display, we do not recommend the Honor V30 Pro as it has an average IPS panel.
Hardware/Software
Vivo iQOO Pro and Realme X2 Pro provide superior performance to the Honor V30 Pro thanks to their Snapdragon 855+ chipset. Realme X2 Pro is definitely the best as it sports a UFS 3.0 internal storage and amazing software optimization. It even has a smoother display thanks to the 90 Hz refresh rate. But unfortunately, it lacks support for 5G connectivity. So if you want a 5G phone but you still need the best performance go for the iQOO Pro 5G, otherwise the Realme X2 Pro is the best choice. Even Honor V30 Pro supports 5G, but it is fueled by a Kirin 990 SoC and just 8 GB of RAM, while Realme X2 Pro and Vivo iQOO Pro 5G offer up to 12 GB of RAM. Android 10 is preinstalled only on the Honor V30 Pro, while its rivals run Android 9 Pie.
Camera
Realme X2 Pro and Vivo iQOO Pro 5G are all but real camera phones. The camera master here is the Honor V30 Pro thanks to its 40 MP triple camera including OIS and 3x optical zoom. It even provides a better front camera setup with a dual selfie camera including an ultrawide sensor. After the Honor V30 Pro, the best camera phone is Realme X2 Pro thanks to its 64 MP quad-camera.
Battery
The bigger 4500 mAh battery of the Vivo iQOO Pro 5G makes it last more on a single charge. And with its 44W, it charges very quickly. Right after we got the Honor V30 Pro with a 4100 mAh battery and a very efficient chipset.
Price
Realme X2 Pro is sold for about €344/$379 in Asia, Honor V30 Pro starts from €500/$550, and Vivo iQOO Pro 5G from less than €500/$550. There is not a clear winner here. If you do not need 5G and you are a power user, Realme X2 Pro is a better device than Vivo iQOO Pro 5G, despite it has a smaller battery. But if you need very high performance, 5G and long battery life, go for the Vivo iQOO Pro 5G. If you want a real camera phone, then discard both and choose the Honor V30 Pro.
There have been reports that Lenovo is planning to launch a new 5G smartphone soon but after recent findings, we advise our readers not to get too excited, if at all. The phone which has model number L79041 is technically not a new 5G device but the Lenovo Z6 Pro 5G.
Lenovo has already begun registrations for the Z6 Pro 5G which is scheduled to go on sale on December 12. Prior to that, the phone has appeared on 3C and TENAA, causing folks to believe a new 5G phone is coming from the Chinese giant when it is actually just the already announced Z6 Pro 5G. We were able to confirm this with the TENAA listing which has the device’s spec sheet as well as the listing on Lenovo’s own website.
The TENAA listing includes images of the phone which of course shows the device’s similar design to the 4G version of the Z6 Pro. The spec sheet is missing a few key specs but the listing on Lenovo’s own site bares it all.
The Lenovo Z6 Pro 5G (Lenovo L79041) has a 6.39-inch FHD+ (1080 x 2340) OLED display with a waterdrop notch. The official listing says the screen is covered with Gorilla Glass but there is no mention of the type.
[envira-gallery id=”292568″]
There is a Snapdragon 855 processor under the hood along with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. However, TENAA’s listing says there will also be 6GB+128GB and 12GB+512GB versions too.
The phone has a 32MP f/2.0 selfie camera with a beauty mode and support for 1080p and 720p video recording. On the rear of the phone is a 48MP f/1.8 primary sensor and it is paired with a 16MP f/2.2 125° super-wide-angle camera, an 8MP f/2.4 telephoto, and a 2MP f/1.8 super video camera with OIS. The phone can record in 4K, has a night scene mode, macro mode, and pro mode.
The Lenovo Z6 Pro will pack a 4000mAh battery with support for 27W fast charging via USB Type-C. Sadly, there is no NFC neither is there an audio jack. You do get an in-display fingerprint scanner, Bluetooth 5.0 with support for AptX HD, LDAC, and TWS Protocol. The phone also has a new liquid cooling technology called Coldfront 2.0 and has support for Lenovo One.
Lenovo will ship the phone with ZUI 11 based on Android Pie but the site says it will get an Android 10 OTA. The images of the phone provided by TENAA and on Lenovo’s site are of a color variant called Navy Blue but TENAA says there will be silver and gold versions too.
The Lenovo Z6 Pro 5G has a price tag of ¥3299 (~$469). You can register here if you are interested.
The IFA 2019 which took place in September this year in Berlin witnessed the unveiling of Huawei’s new wireless earbuds dubbed the Freebuds 3. Aside from adopting a new design, the wireless earbuds pack the powerful Kirin A1 chipset under the hood.
It is worth noting that the first and the second generation of Apple’s AirPods pack the W1 and H1 proprietary chips respectively. Huawei decided to follow in the footstep of the Cupertino tech firm and provided the Kirin A1 chip for its new earbuds. The newfangled chipset uses the Isochronous Dual Channel Bluetooth data transmission.
This low-power processor features advanced Bluetooth and delivers a power-packed audio output for an immersive listening experience. On top of that, the Huawei Freebuds 3 is the world’s first Bluetooth 5.1 and Bluetooth 5.1 LE wearable chipset.
Wireless earbuds loaded with these sorts of exciting features and specs aren’t easy on the pocketbook, but if you are based in Europe, we got good news for you. You can now pre-order the Huawei FreeBuds 3 and avail of faster shipping, provided you place your pre-order via Giztop.
In addition to fast shipping, European consumers do not even need to pay customs tax. Unlike other steeply-priced headsets that cost a bomb, the Huawei FreeBuds 3 can now be yours for just $209 through Giztop.
Available in black color option, the Freebuds 3 true wireless headset sports a new designed called Dolphin Bionic. The design is inspired by a dolphin’s vocal cavity. Breaking from the tradition, the Freebuds 3 comes with a unique circular case which has a glossy finish.
One of the earbuds usually acts as a master, while the other serves as the slave, but that’s not the case with the FreeBuds 3 earbud as they can be paired as a separate channel to the phone. Moreover, Huawei says the FreeBuds 3 is the first earbuds in the world to offer open-fit active noise cancellation with up to 15-decibel ambient noise reduction.

Reports of the arrival of Huawei Watch GT2 in India have been doing the rounds of the internet for quite some time now. But no official word around a tentative launch date was available so far. Huawei India just updated its official website with the ‘Notify Me’ button for the Watch GT2 earlier today. The link opens a pop-up window leading to the launch page on Amazon and Flipkart.
It is hardly surprising that Huawei plans to launch the Huawei Watch GT2 here in India, considering the first-generation Watch GT is among the best-selling smartwatches in the country. Huawei Watch GT2 will be available on both Flipkart and Amazon India. The smartwatch was first unveiled during the IFA 2019 tech exhibition in Berlin, Germany in September.
The Huawei Watch GT2 is available in two variants, 42 mm and 46 mm. While the 42 mm variant features a 1.2-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 390 x 390 pixels. The 46 mm variant sports a 1.39-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 454 x 454 pixels. The GT2 draws power from a Kirin A1 chipset, which is the world’s first dual-mode BT/BLE Bluetooth 5.1 SoC with Huawei’s patented BT-UHD protocol, capable of transmission speeds of up to 6.5MBps. It is based on Huawei’s in-house Isochronous Dual Channel transmission technology for low power consumption and low latency and 365 MHz audio processing for quick and stable Bluetooth connectivity along with accurate video and audio synchronization. The smartwatch is waterproof up to 50 meters.
Connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.1 BR/BLE/EDR, GPS, and features a range of sensors including optical heart rate sensor, geomagnetic sensor, gyroscopic sensor, accelerometer sensor, ambient light sensor, and air pressure sensor. The Watch GT2 has dedicated power and function buttons. The device draws power from a 455 mAh battery and runs on Google’s Wear OS-based Lite OS. While the 46mm variant offers 14 days of continuous backup on a single charge, the battery on the 42mm lasts for seven days.
Huawei’s Honor brand on Tuesday this week announced the Honor V30 and V30 Pro smartphones in China. The two models came out as the brand’s first 5G smartphones and they bring 5G to the mid-range segment. We bring you hands-on pictures of the Honor V30 Pro with a short review of the design and features.
The Honor V30 Pro is the topmost version and it bears the same design as the V30 so take this as an analysis of the Honor V30’s design as well. Not to leave you in doubt, the two models only differ in a few aspects including their memory configurations. The V30 is available in 6GB RAM and 8GB RAM with just 128GB storage option. While the V30 Pro comes in 8GB of RAM and 128GB and 256GB storage options. The V30 Pro equally has a slightly smaller 4100mAhbattery with 40W wired fast charging support and wireless charging support. Wireless charging is lacking on the V30 even though it packs a slightly larger 4200mAh battery.
In terms of design, the Honor V30 Pro 5G utilises a punch-hole display on its 6.57-inch IPS LCD display with full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixel and 20:9 aspect ratio. We had thought Huawei would shift to an LED punch-hole design on this model that disappointingly didn’t happen. The elliptical shaped cutout houses two selfie cameras. The cutout ensures the bezels at the top is trimmed down giving it a 91.46% screen ratio.
The fingerprint sensor of the phone can be found on the right edge embedded in the power button. The Honor V30 features the same dual punch-hole display and also comes with a side-facing fingerprint reader. Both phones offer 91.46 percent screen-to-body ratio.
At the back, the V30 Pro packs a triple camera setup arranged vertically inside a rather wide module. The module equally holds the LED flash. Since the device comes with wireless charging, the V30 Pro uses a glass back panel. There is no rear-mounted fingerprint sensor neither is there a front sensor. Instead, the device packs a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The scanner is integrated with the power button and is located just below the volume rocker at the right side of the screen.
The antenna band line extends downward a little at the side which may be the reason why the SIM tray is removed from the side. It is now located at the bottom edge of the phone flanking the USB-C port and microphone. The speaker grill is at the other edge of the charging port.
The device supports 27W superfast wireless charging and 7.5W reverse wireless charging.
The Honor V30 Pro has 162.7 × 75.8 x 8.8mm and it weighs 206g. The thickness and weight are slightly lesser than the V30 5G due to the stated variance in the battery sizes.
