Realme 5s with 48MP quad cameras to debut on November 20

On Nov. 20, Realme India will be launching its first flagship phone – the Realme X2 Pro in India. Yesterday, the ‘Realme 5s Coming Soon’ text had appeared on the landing page of the Realme X2 Pro on Indian retailer site Flipkart. On the Flipkart app, the Realme 5s is listed among the upcoming smartphones for India. The listing has revealed the rear design of the phone and some of its key features.

The below show screengrab shows the smartphone sporting a diamond-patterned design on its red-colored back. It could be equipped with a polycarbonate rear with a glossy finish. The back panel of the Realme 5s is fitted with a 48-megapixel quad camera system. A fingerprint scanner is also available on the rear.

The front design of the Realme 5s has not been revealed yet. However, it may sport the same waterdrop-style notch screen as the Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro smartphones. The screenshot also confirms that the smartphone will be breaking cover alongside the Realme X2 Pro on Nov. 20.

The Realme 5 has a 12-megapixel quad camera system whereas the Realme 5 Pro has a 48-megapixel quad camera setup. This indicates that the Realme 5s could be slotted between the Realme 5 and 5 Pro handsets. The Realme 5 is powered by Snapdragon 665 whereas the Realme 5 Pro features the Snapdragon 712 SoC. Hence, there is a possibility that the Realme 5s could be equipped with Snapdragon 675 / 710 chipset.

It is advisable to wait for newer official information to appear to know more about the specs of the Realme 5s. The Realme 5s is also coming to Thailand in the near future. The NBTC certification of the phone had revealed that it has a model number of RMX1925.

Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro Specifications and Price

Currently, the Realme 5 is available in India in models like 3 GB RAM + 32 GB storage, 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage and 4 GB RAM + 128 GB storage with respective price tags of Rs. 8,999 (~$125), Rs. 9,999 (~$139) and Rs. 10,999 (~$153). On the other side, the Realme 5 Pro variant such as 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage, 6 GB RAM + 64 GB storage and 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage are respectively priced at Rs. 13,999 (~$195), Rs. 14,999 (~$209) and Rs. 16,999 (~$238).

The Realme 5 has a 6.5-inch HD+ display whereas the 6.3-inch full HD+ display is available on the Pro sibling. These phones are respectively equipped with 5,000mAh and 4,035mAh batteries. The Pro variant supports 20W VOOC 3.0 Flash Charge technology through USB-C. The Android 9 Pie OS based ColorOS 6 runs on the Realme 5 and 5 Pro phones.

For shooting selfies, the Realme 5 has a 13-megapixel front camera and the Pro model has a 16-megapixel selfie snapper. The Realme 5 has a 12-megapixel + 8-megapixel + 2-megapixel + 2-megapixel quad camera on its back. On the other side, Realme 5 Pro features a 48-megapixel + 8-megapixel + 2-megapixel + 2-megapixel quad camera unit. A rear positioned fingerprint reader can be found on both phones.

Vivo will be launching the Vivo S5 series of smartphone in China tomorrow. Rumors surrounding it claim that the company may unleash to devices namely Vivo S5 and Vivo S5 Pro. Ahead of the launch, the Vivo V1932A/T that is believed to the model number of the one of Vivo S5 series phone has been spotted on Geekbench. As usual, it has revealed the key specs of the phone.

The TENAA listing of the Vivo V1932A/T had revealed that it is powered by 2.3GHz octa-core processor. Some reports had claimed that it could be equipped with Snapdragon 712 chipset. Today, the smartphone has smartphone has appeared on Geekbench with a chipset that offers a base frequency of 1.71GHz. The SoC is mentioned as ‘sdm710.’ Considering that the TENAA and Geekbench listings, it can be said that the phone is powered by an octa-core processor that with CPU cores clocking at 2.3GHz and 1.7GHz frequencies. This indicates that the phone is indeed powered by Snapdragon 712 mobile platform.

Coming back to the Geekbench listing, the handset is equipped with 8 GB of RAM and it runs on Android 9 Pie OS. In the single-core test of Geekbench, the Vivo V1932A phone has recorded a score of 1884 and it has reached 6,069 points in the multi-core test.

Vivo U20 with SD675 SoC will be launched in India on November 22

A couple of months ago, in September this year, Vivo launched its first U-series smartphone in the Indian market — Vivo U10. Now, the company is all set to launch its successor in the country — Vivo U20.

Vivo has confirmed that the upcoming U-series smartphone, Vivo U20, will be launched in India on 22nd November. Further, it has been revealed that the device will be available for purchase exclusively through Amazon.

Along with revealing the launch date, the company has also revealed some of the key specifications and features of the smartphone. From the teaser image, it is confirmed that the smartphone will have a waterdrop notch on top of the display.

While details about the phone’s display is not yet known, we are expecting the smartphone to come with Full HD+ screen resolution. The company has confirmed that the device will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 octa-core chipset.

This is an upgrade over the Snapdragon 665 SoC found in the Vivo U10 smartphone. The U20 will also be the third smartphone from the Chinese company to come powered by SD675 SoC, after Vivo V15 Pro and V17 Pro.

The company has also revealed that the smartphone will have up to 6GB of RAM. While not yet confirmed, we expect the phone to come in at least two variants based on the memory configuration — 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and 6GB RAM with 128GB internal storage.

The image shared by Vivo also shows that the phone will have a triple-camera setup on the back, where the sensors are aligned vertically in the top-left position, along with an LED flash. There’s also a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for added security.

To know for sure about the phone’s full specifications as well as the variants, color options, pricing and availability information, we’ll have to wait for a few more days until the Vivo U20 goes official in India on 22nd November.

Last month, Vivo had launched the Vivo Y19 smartphone in Thailand. The same phone was unveiled as Vivo Y5s in China. The Vivo Y19 is also expected to hit the Indian markets in the near future. 91mobiles has shared the leaked pricing of the 4 GB RAM variant of the smartphone.

According to the report that cites information retrieved from retail sources, the 4 GB RAM + 128 GB storage edition of the Vivo Y19 is expected to land in India with a pricing of Rs. 13,990 (~$$195). The Vivo Y17 that is rumored to get phased out after the arrival of Vivo Y19 is currently selling at the same price tag for its 4 GB RAM + 128 GB storage model.

In Thailand, the Vivo Y19 comes in a single edition of 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage and it is priced at 6,990 Baht (~$230; ~Rs. 16,550). There is a possibility that the Vivo Y19 could be available in India in multiple variants. The exact launch date of the Vivo Y19 for India is currently under the wraps. Mysterious M1911U2E Xiaomi 5G phone NRA certified; Could be Redmi K30

Redmi fans are now waiting for the arrival of the Redmi K30 series. Like the predecessor Redmi K20 series, the upcoming K30 lineup may include Redmi K30 and Redmi K30 Pro. One major upgrade that will be seen on the Redmi K30 series is that it will carry support for 5G connectivity. A mysterious Xiaomi smartphone with model number M1911U2E has received approval from the National Radio Authority in China. Since it supports 5G connectivity, a reliable Chinese tipster has claimed that it could be the Redmi K30.

The NRA certification only reveals the new M1911U2E model number and it also states that it supports 5G connectivity. It was in August that Redmi General Manager Lu Weibing had confirmed that the Redmi K30 will be arriving with 5G support.

The presentation slide revealed that the Redmi K30 will be equipped with a pill-shaped cutout towards the top-right corner for housing two front-facing cameras. The above image reveals that the Redmi K30 series will not be sporting the same design as the Redmi K20 lineup. However, there is a possibility that the rear design of the Redmi K30 series will not be different from the predecessor models.

Coming back to the M1911U2E Xiaomi phone, there is a possibility that it could be entirely different phone. Xiaomi is also said to be working on a Mi MIX smartphone. it is also expected to carry support for 5G connectivity. Hence, it is advisable to wait for further reports to confirm on the identity of the M1911U2E smartphone.

Mi CC9 Pro teardown showcases the internals of the feature-packed smartphone

Xiaomi recently launched the premium mid-range smartphone under its Mi CC lineup, dubbed as Mi CC9 Pro. The same smartphone has been made available in the global markets as the Mi Note 10.

The highlight of the smartphone is that it comes with five camera sensors, a 5,260mAh battery as well as a 1cc speaker chamber. The teardown video shows how this was made possible by the company to fit together.

Once the back glass panel is peeled off, we can see that there are a few layers of components which include NFC antenna, a graphite sheet to spread the heat from the chipset and an additional cover supporting the cameras.

This houses the quad LED flash as well as the Laser auto focus system along with an ambient light sensor to adjust the camera’s color temperature. Then there’s a penta-camera setup and as we can see, the 108-megapixel sensor is pretty large and this module is a custom version of Samsung’s ISOCELL HMX sensor.

The first lens in the rear-facing camera system of the phone is a 4-axis OIS assisted 5-megapixel super telephoto lens that supports 5x optical zoom, 10x hybrid zoom and 50x hybrid zoom. Next is a 12-megapixel portrait sensor with a pixel size of 1.4micon. The third sensor is the Samsung-made 108-megapixel main sensor with f/1.7 aperture and 4-axis OIS. Next comes a 20-megapixel ultra-wide lens with 117-degree field-of-view. The fifth one is a 2-megapixel macro lens with a focal length of 1.5cm.

Finally, coming to the small-sized motherboard, we can see that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G processor along with LPDDR4X RAM, UFS 2.1 storage and various other chips, including the 30W fast charging hardware.

Interestingly, Xiaomi managed to fit a 5,260mAh battery in the smartphone that too without resorting to L-shaped batteries like Apple uses. For those who are unaware, Apple has used L-shaped 4,000mAh battery for the iPhone 11 Pro Max.

Below the battery, there’s a 1cc loudspeaker chamber and the 3.5mm headphone jack to its side. With all these components, there’s no room for the traditional in-display fingerprint sensor, thus, the company opted for an ultra-thin reader which is just 0.3mm thick and made possible by a micro-lens with micro-collimation technology.

Realme X2 Pro flagship smartphone goes official in Europe; price starts at €399

Last month, Realme launched its first premium flagship smartphone in its home country China — Realme X2 Pro. Now, the company has launched the same device in the European market and is now available for purchase in select regions.

Customers in Spain can purchase the smartphone on Amazon.es, while customers in Belgium, France, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, and United Kingdom can buy one from Realme’s European website.

As for the pricing, the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage model is priced at €399 while the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant costs €449. The top-end model with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at €499. In Europe, the smartphone comes in two color options — Neptune Blue and Lunar White.

Coming to the specifications, the Realme X2 Pro has a 6.5-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with waterdrop notch and offers screen resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels that carries support for 90Hz refresh rate and a screen-to-body ratio of 91.7 percent.

The device also comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner that is claimed to unlock the device in just 0.23 seconds. Under the hood, the display is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset which is clocked 2.96GHz and packs Adreno 640 GPU with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

The phone features vapor chamber liquid cooling, superconducting carbon fiber multi-layer scheme, multi-layer graphite sheet and other heat-dissipating materials. In the camera department, the phone has a quad-camera setup on the back that consists of Samsung GW1 64-megapixel lens with f/1.8 aperture, a telephoto lens of 13-megapixel with support for up to 20x hybrid zoom, a ultrawide lens of 8-megapixel with 115-degree field-of-view and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.

On the front side, the device features an AI driven 16-megapixel selfie shooter that has support for super night scene along with 4-in-1 pixel merging technology. Connectivity options on the device include Dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, USB-C, dual frequency GPS, and NFC.

The phone is also equipped with stereo dual speakers coupled with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res audio technologies. The device runs Android 9 Pie operating system out-of-the-box with ColorOS 6.1 on top. The phone features tactile linear motor which assists in 4D in-game vibrations. Gionee M11 and M11s gets a new Star Black color option in China

Chinese smartphone maker Gionee which went bankrupt last year due to unpaid debts and reportedly poor financial management made a comeback a couple of months ago with the launch of two smartphones — Gionee M11 and the Gionee M11s.

The smartphone was made available in two color options — Dream Blue and Jade Green. Now, the company has also introduced a third color variant for both the smartphone models — Star Black. It will soon be available for purchase in China.

The Gionee M11 features a 6.217-inch HD+ display and is powered by a 2.0GHz octa-core processor most likely supplied by MediaTek. The device is offered in three variants – 3GB RAM + 64GB storage, 4GB RAM + 64GB storage, and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage. It runs Android 8.1 Oreo and is powered by a 5,000mAh battery.

There are dual cameras on the back and TENAA says the sensors are a 16MP primary camera paired with a 2MP secondary sensor. Based on the listing, it appears the 2MP sensor is interpolated to 5MP or maybe some variants have a 5MP secondary sensor. The front camera is a 5MP sensor which seems to be 8MP on some variants or interpolated to 8MP. The phone also has a fingerprint sensor on the back.

The Gionee M11s comes with a slightly bigger 6.3-inch display with a Full HD+ screen resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. Under the hood, it is also powered by a 2.0GHz octa-core processor paired with 4GB, 6GB, or 8GB of RAM and 64GB, 128GB, or 256GB of expandable storage.

There are dual cameras on the rear side of the phone along with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The listing states two configurations 16MP + 5MP or 20MP + 8MP. The front camera also has two configurations – 13MP or 16MP. This one runs Android 9 Pie operating system out-of-the-box and is powered by a 4,000mAh battery.

The Realme 5 is about getting an upgraded version in the Realme 5s that should launch very soon. That has not stopped the brand from pushing the latest update to its older models. The Realme has reportedly released a new update for the Realme 5. The new firmware brings along the October 2019 security patch to the smartphone.

Xiaomi launches a beautiful fish tank that can be powered by a power bank

Xiaomi has launched a portable nano-aquarium or fish tank suitable for homes and offices. The fish tank comes with a 299 yuan ($43) price tag.

The fish tank is designed in such a way to maintain the ecological balance such that you don’t need to change the water frequently as nitrates and other wastes are removed. At the top is a compartment where flowers can be raised. Also, you won’t need to open the entire upper lid of the fish tank if the fish needed to be fed. There is an adjustment knob by the side for feeding the fish and also to adjust the oxygen supply.

The fish tank incorporates the siphon principle to balance up the fish rearing and keeping the plant watered via water vapour. When the fish tank stores water, the water vapour is directly sent up to the plant.

The fish tank adopts a user-friendly design and one-button control. The water can be changed automatically with just the press of a button, thus removing the cumbersome water change process associated with home aquariums. The Galaxy S10’s successor is only a couple of months away but Samsung may be launching new versions of the phone in China soon. A new TENAA listing for the phone has been published and it includes some new RAM and ROM variants.

The recently-certified Galaxy S10 has the model number SM-G9730 and it was approved by TENAA on November 6. According to the spec sheet, the phone will be available in three RAM variants – 6GB, 8GB, and 12GB. The storage variants listed are 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB.

The Galaxy S10 sold in China is available in two configurations – 8+128GB and 8+512GB. Based on the listing, we may be getting a 6GB RAM +256GB version and a 12GB RAM + 1TB version soon.

While Samsung is not new to announcing new color variants for its flagship phones, launching new RAM and storage configurations months after the phone’s release is unusual. The rest of the specs are nearly the same save for the rear cameras.

The Samsung SM-G9730 has a 6.1-inch 3040 x 1440 AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 855 processor, and a 3400mAh battery. It has 16MP + 12MP + 10MP triple rear cameras rather than a 12MP + 16MP + 12MP triple rear cameras. It also has a 12MP selfie camera. There is support for storage expansion up to 512GB. TENAA mentions it has an in-display fingerprint scanner. The phone will be available in Black and White.

Design

I think there were undoubtedly more efforts put into the making of the Xiaomi Mi Note 10’s design. The handset comes with a more rounded form factor as well as a curved screen and a higher screen-to-body ratio. Despite Mi Note 10 sports a bigger battery than the Realme X2 Pro, the device is more compact, but it is thicker. Both the handsets come with a back glass protected by Gorilla Glass 5, as well as an aluminum frame. And they both have an in-display fingerprint reader.

Display

Even though it is a very affordable flagship, Realme X2 Pro features one of the most valid display panels in the smartphone market. It is not the best of all, but it is amazing for both multimedia and gaming. Further, it features the max quantity of RAM you can find in the actual market: up to 12 GB, as well as a UFS 3.0 internal storage (not for the base version with 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of native storage, that one has UFS 2.1 storage). Both the phones have Android 9 Pie out of the box, but they are customized by different user interfaces. The Realme X2 Pro has the ColorOS, while Xiaomi Mi Note 10 comes with MIUI which we define as a more advanced custom UI. Both will be updated to Android 10, but this is kinda obvious since they just launched.

Camera

Realme X2 is a perfect flagship when it comes to display and hardware, but it is just a mid-ranger when it comes to cameras. It has a quad rear camera including a 64 MP main sensor, but that is just a midrange-class sensor. However, this does not mean it does not click great photos. On the other hand, Xiaomi Mi Note 10 has one of the most impressive camera departments of the whole market, besides being the best Xiaomi camera phone. It is the only smartphone with a Penta camera including an astonishing 108 MP main sensor. It even supports optical zoom up to 5x and a dedicated macro camera. Even the front camera of the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 is better.

Battery

As said above, Xiaomi Mi Note 10 can be considered one of the best camera phones, but not everyone noticed that it is even one of the best battery phones. It mounts a huge 5260 mAh battery and it obviously wins the comparison with Realme X2 Pro.

Price

The base variant of the Realme X2 Pro (6/64 GB) costs €399/$440, but the phone goes up to €499 in the 12/256 GB configuration. Xiaomi Mi Note 10 has only one configuration with 6/128 GB and a €599/$660 price tag. There is not a clear winner of this comparison, despite Xiaomi Mi Note 10 looks like a more impressive phone. If you do not care about cameras at all, then you should go for the Realme X2 Pro due to its way better processor and display. But if you do and you also need very long battery life, choose the Xiaomi Mi Note 10.

Hisense Kingkong 6 with a 10010mAh battery launched

Hisense Mobile phone has announced a new smartphone under its flagship KingKong series in China. The device was announced on the brand’s mobile phone Weibo page and it is dubbed Hisense KignKong 6. The standout feature onboard the device is the mammoth 10010mAh battery it packs. The Hisense KingKong 6 uses a waterdrop notch design but the exact screen size of the device and other specifications are yet to be revealed. At the rear, it packs a triple camera sensors setup situated at the top left corner. Aside the main sensor, the other two sensors are likely a depth sensor and ultra-wide-angle. There is equally a fingerprint sensor in the middle with a unique shape that looks like armour.

Hisense KingKong 6 with the detachable battery case on

As stated earlier, the main attraction on the KingKong 6 is definitely the 10010mAh battery. But the size of the device definitely doesn’t look like what is carrying such a huge battery. What is at play is that the device packs a smaller battery and has a battery case like the battery mod of Motorola phones. The extra detachable battery ten brings the total battery output to 10010mAh. The predecessor of the KingKong 6 packs a 4500mAh battery and uses a 3500mAh battery pack. There are connectors at the lower half of the rear panel through which the battery is connected.

In addition, Hisense also invited a well-known actor Yang Shuo to endorse this mobile phone. The actor who was born on January 2, 1983 in Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province, China Mainland has featured in several films and is a well-known figure in China. Huawei to bring Kirin A1 chipset in India this week, FreeBuds 3 to follow soon

Huawei recently unveiled its Kirin A1 chipset for wearable devices and now as per the reports, the company is all set to release the same chipset in the Indian market later this week. As per the press invite sent out by the company, it wants to “create a new ecosystem in India”.

The Chinese giant has not yet confirmed what exactly it plans to launch in the Indian market but several reports point out that it is going to be the new Kirin A1 chipset. If this turns out to be true, then we expect the company to soon launch its wearable products such as FreeBuds 3 and Watch GT 2 in the Indian market.

The Huawei Kirin A1 chipset was first announced in September this year during IFA 2019 in Berlin. The chipset rivals Apple’s H1 processor that powers the company’s popular true wireless earphones — AirPods.

The Kirin A1 is touted by the company as the world’s first headphone-centric processor to support Bluetooth 5.1. It also offers low latency and ultra high-definition audio output, among other things.

Measuring 4.3 x 4.4 mm, the chipset is integrated with Bluetooth processing unit, audio processing unit, ultra-low-power application processor and independent efficient power management unit. It can output Bluetooth ultra high definition audio (BT-UHD) up to 2.3Mbps for optimal sound quality. It can also provide the fastest Bluetooth transmission speed in real-time, up to 6.5Mbps.

There’s Kirin AI self-developed dual-channel synchronous transmission technology which solves the problem of stutter and disconnection of headphones caused by Bluetooth and signal interference.

The same chipset is powering the newly launched Huawei FreeBuds 3 true wireless stereo headset. It comes with a new design called Dolphin Bionic, which draws inspiration from a dolphin’s vocal cavity. It comes with a unique circular case with a glossy finish. Also, each earbud of the FreeBuds 3 can be paired to the phone on a separate channel. It comes in a circular charging case that can extend battery life from 4 hours to 20 hours.

On the other hand, the Huawei Watch GT 2 comes with 1.39-inch display with a 3D glass uni-surface. The features onboard the smartwatch includes underwater heart rate monitoring, Bluetooth call from a distance of up to 150m. The watch also comes pre-installed with 13 running courses and 15 workout modes.

The company had previously revealed that the newly launched Kirin A1 chipset can be used in a variety of devices such as wireless headphones, neck-mounted headphones, smart speakers, smart glasses and smartwatches.

The Realme 5 series might soon get a new member and it may launch alongside the Realme X2 Pro on November 20 in India. This new phone will launch as the Realme 5s.

Flipkart has set up a landing page for the Realme X2 Pro and at the top left corner of the page are the words “realme 5s Coming Soon”. This is the second proof of the device’s existence following its certification by Thailand’s National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) and the Bureau of Indian Standard (BIS) in October.

The Realme 5s has the model number RMX1925 but other than this, its specifications are unknown. However, we believe the differences between the Realme 5 and Realme 5s will be marginal.

Realme is expected to announce “other surprises” at the Realme X2 Pro event on November 20. There are reports the young brand will unveil its first fitness tracker on that day but the Realme 5s looks like it will show up too.

Infinix S5 Lite teased to launch in India on November 15 for ₹7,999 ($112)

Infinix S5 Lite, the company’s upcoming budget smartphone for the Indian market, has been teased by online marketplace Flipkart. The teaser poster of the device reveals that it will be launched for a price of ₹7,999, which is roughly $112.

The smartphone is teased to get launched in three days which means that the launch will take place on 15th November. The teaser also shows the upcoming phone’s render, revealing that it will come with a punch-hole display.

The upcoming Infinix S5 Lite is expected to be a stripped-down model of the Infinix S5 smartphone launched in India last month, carrying a price tag of ₹8,999, roughly $126.

While nothing much is known about this upcoming smartphone, the render of the phone reveals some key features. It shows that there will be a punch-hole display with a cut-out in the top-left corner for housing the front-facing camera.

On the back side, the device will come with a triple-camera setup where the sensor will be aligned vertically in the top-left corner, along with an LED flash. We can also see a fingerprint sensor on the back panel.

Currently, there’s no official information about the phone’s processor, RAM or internal storage capacity, as well as the software version and battery capacity. But as per the reports, the phone will come with a 6.6-inch HD+ display with 1600 x 720 pixels screen resolution and will be powered by MediaTek Helio P22 octa-core processor along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.

In the camera department, the device will have a triple-camera setup on the back with 16MP primary sensor, 2MP secondary sensor and a QVGA camera. On the front side, there will be a 16MP snapper for taking selfies and video calling.

We expect the Infinix S5 Lite smartphone to come in multiple variants and at least in two gradient color options — Green and Black. To know more about this smartphone, we’ll have to wait for a couple of days more, till the device goes official in India on 15th November.
