However, there are also some key differences which will influence your purchase.
Redmi has gone with premium materials for its phone; using Gorilla Glass 5 on both sides just as it did with the Redmi Note 7. It also uses an FHD+ panel, has a primary 48MP rear camera and a USB Type-C port just like its predecessor. The Nokia 7.2 has a starting price of €299 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB version and €349 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB version in Europe. It is set to go on sale by the end of September.
NokiaPowerUser reports that it will be arriving the US tomorrow, September 16, and will be available for pre-order on B&H Photo and BestBuy. However, it will be coming in a different configuration in the US.
Rather than the base model which has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage or the top model which has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, the Nokia 7.2 that will be sold in the US will have 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The primary camera is a 48MP sensor with Quad-Pixel technology and it is paired with a 5MP depth sensor and an 8MP 118° ultrawide angle camera. It can record in 4K with spatial audio recording and also has a dedicated Night Mode. Inside the notch in front is a 20MP sensor.
The Nokia 7.2 has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, a dedicated Google Assistant button, NFC, MicroSD card support, an audio jack, and FM radio. It runs Android 9 Pie out of the box and will get 2 years of OS updates and 3 years of security updates.
Microsoft has an event scheduled for October 2 in New York where it will unveil new products. The Microsoft Surface Laptop 3 is one of the expected devices and details of the PC have popped online including one big info.
Winfuture.de reports that the Surface Laptop series will be getting a 15-inch version for the very first time. Its predecessors are only available with 13.5-inch screens. There will still be a 13.5-inch version of the Surface Laptop 3 for those who prefer a smaller display.

When it comes to Android tablets, Samsung and Huawei are the two big-name manufacturers still actively in the business, offering both high-end and mid-range models. LG may soon announce a new tablet under its G Pad series but its processor might be the deal-breaker for a lot of folks.
The tablet’s existence was discovered by Mishaal Rahman of XDA-Developers. It was recently certified by Google under the Android Recommended devices program and also to run Google services.
Called the LG G Pad 5 and with the model number LM-T600L, the listings reveal it has a 10.1-inch FHD+ display with a 1920 x 1200 resolution and a 16:10 aspect ratio. It has a fingerprint scanner but no NFC and runs Android 9 Pie with LG UX on top.
When it comes to processing power, the LG G Pad 5 is revealed to be powered by the Snapdragon 821 processor. Yes, the chipset that powered the flagships of 2016. This is also the same processor that powers the LG G7 Fit which was announced in August 2018. Despite they are very affordable, both Xiaomi and Oppo decided to build Realme XT and Redmi Note 8 Pro with an elegant glass back. But which is the most elegant device? It mostly depends on your tastes, but I think the Realme XT is more attractive due to its more compact dimensions and the absence of a fingerprint scanner on the rear side, as it is integrated into the display. So the Realme XT has a cleaner back, it is smaller, thinner, and even lighter than Redmi Note 8 Pro. Both have a plastic frame and the Gorilla Glass 5 protection for the display and the rear cover.
Display
Redmi Note 8 Pro loses the comparison when it comes to the display. It comes with a classic IPS panel, while Realme XT has a definitely better Super AMOLED panel showing deeper blacks and very brilliant colors. The only advantage of Redmi Note 8 Pro is a wider display diagonal, which could be more comfortable for gamers and power users. Note that Realme XT has an in-display fingerprint reader, while Redmi Note 8 Pro has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Specs & Software
While I prefer Realme XT if we talk about design and display, Redmi Note 8 Pro is the winner if we compare the hardware department. Despite Realme XT comes with a fast UFS 2.1 internal storage, Redmi Note 8 Pro has a way more powerful chipset with better CPU performance, a more advanced cooling system, and even a better GPU. Its only disadvantage is the 12 nm production process which makes it less energy efficient, but you should not notice a big difference when it comes to battery life.
Camera
Realme XT and Redmi Note 8 Pro have a very similar camera department. Both feature a quad camera on their back with exactly the same kind of sensors: the world’s first 64 MP camera for mobile devices, an ultrawide lens, a dedicated macro camera, and a depth sensor, all with the same 8 + 2 + 2 MP resolutions. On the paper, Redmi Note 8 Pro seems to have a better front camera, while Realme XT is capable of recording 960 fps ultra slow motion videos. For now, it is a draw, at least until we test Realme XT’s camera thoroughly.
Xiaomi equipped the Redmi Note 8 Pro with a way bigger battery than Realme XT, but its components have a way higher power consumption. The display is more energy-demanding being a wider LCD panel, as well as the MediaTek Helio G90T chipset compared to the Snapdragon 712. That is why we believe that those two phones will provide a similar battery life. However, we had no chance to test Realme XT thoroughly as it was announced yesterday, so give us some time before asking us a definitive opinion.
Price
Realme XT debuted in the Indian market with a €200/$225 starting price, while Redmi Note 8 Pro is expected to cost about €180/$200 in the peninsula. Overall, Realme XT looks like a slightly better device for average users, but if you are either an advanced user who needs the max performance or a gamer, Redmi Note 8 Pro is a better option. Obviously, this verdict is only based on the specs on the paper as we will be able to give our final thoughts only after testing both the handsets thoroughly (we are talking especially about their very similar camera departments and battery life).

The AnTuTu scores of the trio don’t have any significant difference. This is due to the fact that all three utilises Apple A13 Bionic processor. The most interesting part is that all three iPhone 11 models are listed with 4GB of RAM. That means talks of a 6GB RAM variant are just rumours. The OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro are expected to launch later this month In India before making their way to other markets. While there have been plenty of leaks already, a new one has surfaced that reveals more details and confirms what we already know.
Steve Hemmerstoffer, the popular Twitter leaker, revealed the full spec sheet of the upcoming devices as well as release dates (probably for US/Europe). We will start with the OnePlus 7T.
OnePlus 7T
The upgrade to the OnePlus 7 will feature a 6.55-inch Fluid AMOLED display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 and a PPI of 402. It will have an optical in-display fingerprint scanner, a 90Hz refresh rate, and support for HDR10+.
The Snapdragon 855+ is the chipset under the hood and it will be paired with 8GB of RAM. The OnePlus 7T will be available in 128GB and 256GB versions. As usual, there is no support for storage expansion.
The phone will get one more camera sensor than the OnePlus 7. The primary camera is a 48MP f/1.6 sensor with OIS and EIS and it is paired with a 12MP f/2.2 telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom. It also adds a 16MP f/2.2 ultrawide camera with a 120° field of view. The selfie camera is a 16MP sensor and it has EIS. OnePlus has added a new Macro Mode in addition to Nightscape mode and 960FPS Super-Slow Motion mode.
The OnePlus 7T will have a 3800mAh battery with support for a new fast-charging technology called Warp Charge 30T. It is revealed to be 20% faster than that of the OnePlus 7 Pro. The phone will also run a new version of OxygenOS based on Android 10. There is no mention of available color variants but the source does say it has a Matte finish
OnePlus 7T Pro
The Oneplus 7T Pro will have a slightly bigger 6.65-inch display with a higher resolution (3100 x 1440) and 516 PPI. There is an in-screen fingerprint sensor and the phone will keep the 90Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support.
You also get a Snapdragon 855 Plus processor, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. The phone will keep its triple rear camera system which includes a 48MP f/1.6 sensor with OIS and EIS, an 8MP f/2.4 telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom, and a 16MP f/2.2 ultrawide camera with a 120° field of view. It will also come with a 16MP selfie camera with EIS.
The OnePlus 7T Pro will get a new Macro mode, there is also Nightscape mode, and 960fps slow-motion recording at 720p. The phone will run OxygenOS based on Android 10 and pack a 4085mAh battery with WARP Charge 30T fast charging technology.
OnLeaks adds that the OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro will most likely be announced at an event on October 10 and will go on sale on October 15. There is no info on the price of the two phones.
Gionee‘s return to the smartphone business has also kicked off in India with the launch of a new smartphone and a new smartwatch. We already covered the GBuddy Smart “Life” Watch which actually looks good and we hope we get to review. However, this post is for the new Gionee F9 Plus smartphone.
When it comes to design, the Gionee F9 Plus isn’t unique. It has a U-shaped notch, a bit of chin with the manufacturer’s name on it, and dual cameras on the rear. The back has a glossy finish and the phone is available in black and blue.
The F9 Plus packs a 6.26-inch HD+ (1520 x 720) Full View Dewdrop Notch Display that is covered with Dragontrail Glass and has a 19:9 aspect ratio. Inside the notch is a 13MP F2.0 AI camera with support for Face Unlock. Gionee also added a pretty nifty trick to the notch; allowing it to serve as a battery meter.
The phone is powered by a 1.65GHz octa-core processor that is paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. Gionee has added a triple card tray which has space for 2 Nano SIMs and a MicroSD card (256GB max.).
The back is home to a 13MP F1.8 and 2MP F2.4 dual camera setup and a fingerprint scanner. The cameras are on the left and share the same housing with the LED flash. There is bokeh mode, night mode, and a beauty mode. You can also use the fingerprint scanner as a shutter button when taking selfies.
Inside the phone is a 4050mAh battery but there is no mention of fast charging. The Gionee F9 Plus runs Android 9 Pie out of the box but there is no mention of the skin on top. It has a MicroUSB port and an audio jack. There is also Dual VoLTE, 2.4GHz WiFi, and A-GPS.

The Gionee F9 Plus is priced at INR 7,690 (~$108) which pits it directly against the Redmi 7 which is priced at INR 7,499 for the base model with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. Gionee India says it will be available at retail partner stores and online stores but didn’t specify when.

Apple unveiled the iPhone 11 series a couple of days back with all three models brandishing a new A13 Bionic processor. Apple says theA13 Bionic SoC is more powerful than the Snapdragon 855 and the Kirin 980, respectively. A GeekBench listing for the iPhone 11 has shown that th company was apparently being modest with its claims.
The GeekBnech listing shows the SoC is much faster than not just the SD 855 and Kirin 980 but also the Snapdragon 855+ and on both the single-core and multi-core tests. The A13 Bionic also records a faster performance than Samsung’s Exynos 9825 that powers the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+.
The device is listed as iPhone 12,3 but is believed to be the iPhone 11 powered by the Apple A13 Bionic. The device scored a massive 5,472 points in the single-core benchmark on Geekbench 4 and on the multi-core test it scores 13,769 points, which is equally impressive.
We’ll draw comparisons with the GeekBench score of the Black Shark 2 packing a Snapdragon 855+ chipset. The device could only muster a single-core score of 3,623 points and a multi-core score of 11,367 points. Well. that isn’t going to happen as Huawei has started selling its latest Matebook models running Deepin Linux.
Deepin is a Chinese software brand with a beautiful and polished desktop Linux distribution. The laptop models were spotted on Huawei’s official store in China – VMall. The models listed include the Huawei Matebook X Pro, Matebook 13 and Matebook 14. On the interface, the Windows logo is ditched and replaced with a key that simply reads “Start.” The prices also vary slightly from those of the Windows version with all three models priced at 300 yuan (about $42 USD) less than the Windows 10-running models.
While we cannot say for sure why the company released these versions, it may not be unconnected to the US/China trade war in which Huawei is caught in the middle. When the trade ban goes into effect, Huawei won’t be able to install Microsoft Windows on its laptops. but with this new option, the company may just have found an easy alternative.
