Li Weixing GM of Xiaomi Internet recently discovered a new way to dry a wet Mi 9 that may have dropped inside water accidentally.
Sharing the tip on Weibo, Weixing hinted that he accidentally dropped his Mi 9 unit inside the water and was in a hurry to leave the house that the rice option wasn’t feasible. He even continued using the phone while at work but the touchscreen sensor wasn’t responsive. He placed the phone under the sun and played music at the same time. Apparently, the vibration of the speaker generated the exchange of air between the inside and outside of the phone and before sunset, the phone was working fine.

Even though the Gorilla Glass is for waterproofing, it adds some level of water resistance to the phone.
