Did the Honor 400 series teaser take a subtle jab at Samsung’s Galaxy A56?

Smartphone brands often take swings at one another at any chance they get. In the past, Samsung has made fun of Apple, but this time around, it is on the receiving end. The latest teaser of the Honor 400 series takes a subtle jab at the South Korean tech giant and one of its latest mid range smartphones.

Honor 400 Series Teaser Pokes at Samsung

The Chinese brand recently announced the launch date for the Honor 400 and Honor 400 Pro. These two mid range devices are set to debut in Malaysia on 22nd May 2025. But in another teaser shared on X, Honor shared a promo image poster that included a chance to win a new Honor 400 smartphone. This picture included a message saying “Not the Same” but had the “Sam” highlighted in blue letters.

Honor 400 Series
Honor 400 (Left) and Honor 400 Pro (Right)

So it is clearly referencing the rival smartphone maker Samsung. The upcoming Honor 400 and Honor 400 Pro are upper mid range devices. In other words, the duo will likely rival Samsung’s new Galaxy A56. This could be Honor making fun of Samsung once again. Around the time of the Honor Magic V3 release, the Chinese company made a ‘Fat’ jab at Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 6.

The Magic V3 was noticeably slimmer than the Z Fold 6, so the latest teaser is likely another swipe at the South Korean brand. For those interested, we also covered a detailed rumor roundup of the Honor 400 and Honor 400 Pro that talks about its specs, features, design, and cameras. We will be covering the launch event later this month, so stick around for more.

Oppo Find X9 Ultra leak reveals 10x optical zoom in overhauled camera setup

Oppo wrapped up the Find X8 series launch last month with the debut of the X8 Ultra. But talk about their successors is already making rounds on the internet. Most of the leaks have been around the camera hardware of the upcoming phones. And today’s update is no exception.

Tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo shared details about the telephoto modules of the Find X9 Ultra. According to them, the device will feature a 200MP periscope telephoto, replacing the 50MP unit on the X8 Ultra.

Oppo Find X9 Ultra camera leak

The other 50MP telephoto might remain the same in terms of resolution, but the leak says it will upgrade its zoom range to 10x from 6x.

What else can you expect?

The Find X8 Pro also features a similar telephoto setup as the Ultra model. However, a previous report hints that the Find X9 Pro might feature a single periscope camera. It is also said to be a 200MP module.

There are also rumors of Oppo branching the Find X9 line to include four models: Find X9, X9 Plus, X9 Pro, and X9 Ultra. The devices are said to rival the iPhone 17, 17 Plus, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max.

All four models are expected to ship with a flat display. The X9 will be the compact offering featuring a screen size of around 6.3 inches. And it, along with the Plus and Pro models, might be powered by the Dimensity 9500 SoC. The X9 Ultra, on the other hand, will likely opt for the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chip.

It is still too early for a full picture of the Find X9 series. The Ultra model won’t likely launch in 2025, while the others are expected to debut in October or November, likely after MediaTek unveils the Dimensity 9500.

Vivo X200 Ultra vs Pixel 9 Pro XL: Hardware vs AI, Who Wins?

Vivo X200 Ultra and Google Pixel 9 Pro XL represent two distinct approaches to flagship smartphones, one focused on cutting-edge hardware, the other on AI-driven software. With both devices launching in the premium segment, this comparison matters for users deciding between raw performance and smart usability. Let’s break down which phone fits which kind of user.

1. Design and Display

Vivo X200 Ultra
Vivo X200 Ultra

Build and Feel:
Vivo X200 Ultra features a high-end build with a glass front and back supported by an aluminum frame and boasts IP69/IP68 certification, offering superior water and dust resistance. The Pixel 9 Pro XL also uses premium Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on both sides with an aluminum frame and IP68 rating. While both feel premium, Vivo’s higher ingress protection and more durable structure slightly elevate its ruggedness.

Display Quality:
Vivo’s 6.82-inch LTPO AMOLED supports Dolby Vision, HDR Vivid, and reaches a remarkable 4500 nits peak brightness, outperforming the Pixel’s 6.8-inch OLED panel, which peaks at 3000 nits and supports HDR10+. Vivo also features higher resolution (1440p vs 1344p) and better contrast in direct sunlight. However, the Pixel’s color calibration and always-on functionality are better tuned for day-to-day visibility.

Verdict:
Both phones excel in display and build, but Vivo’s enhanced protection and panel brightness give it the edge for users needing a more immersive and durable device.

2. Specifications

Google Pixel 9 Pro XL

Performance:
Vivo X200 Ultra runs on the cutting-edge Snapdragon 8 Elite with a high-performance Adreno 830 GPU, ideal for gaming and demanding apps. The Pixel 9 Pro XL, using Google’s Tensor G4, prioritizes AI features and system optimization rather than raw power. While Pixel excels in AI-driven tasks, Vivo leads in processing and graphical performance under heavy load.

Battery and Charging:
Vivo sports a massive 6000 mAh silicon-carbon battery with 90W wired and 40W wireless charging, far ahead of the Pixel’s 5060 mAh battery with 37W wired and 23W wireless. Vivo also supports reverse charging and faster refill times, though the Pixel offers better battery preservation features like bypass charging.

Verdict:
Vivo leads overall in hardware efficiency and endurance, while Pixel leans toward smarter battery use and long-term software efficiency.

3. Camera

Vivo X200 Ultra
Vivo X200 Ultra

Main and Secondary Lenses:
Vivo’s triple system is led by a 50MP gimbal-stabilized wide sensor, a massive 200MP periscope with macro, and a high-end 50MP ultrawide, all co-engineered with Zeiss. Pixel uses a 50MP wide sensor, 48MP 5x telephoto, and 48MP ultrawide with AI-driven processing. Vivo offers more hardware flexibility, while Pixel’s AI-backed features like Zoom Enhance and Ultra-HDR provide easier point-and-shoot excellence.

Selfie Camera:
Vivo has a 50MP autofocus front camera with 4K60 support, ideal for vloggers and video calls. Pixel’s 42MP selfie cam offers a wider field of view and AI-enhanced selfies with consistent quality. Both produce sharp selfies, but Vivo’s 4K60 front recording and detail capture stand out.

Verdict:
Vivo excels in versatility and pro-grade optics, while Pixel delivers smart, user-friendly imaging with fewer manual adjustments needed.

4. Pricing

Google Pixel 9 Pro XL

Vivo X200 Ultra is priced at approximately $1000, while the Pixel 9 Pro XL starts at around $700. Pixel offers great value with high-end software support, premium build, and powerful AI features at a more accessible price. Vivo justifies its premium cost with a stronger display, faster charging, and pro-level camera hardware.

Verdict:
Pixel 9 Pro XL wins on affordability and software longevity; Vivo X200 Ultra justifies its higher price through top-tier hardware.

5. Conclusion

Vivo X200 Ultra
Vivo X200 Ultra

Vivo X200 Ultra stands out with its 200MP telephoto camera, gimbal OIS, 90W charging, satellite SOS support (in select models), and Zeiss optics, geared for photographers, gamers, and tech enthusiasts.

Pixel 9 Pro XL brings Google’s AI magic, 7 years of Android updates, UWB, Circle to Search, and superior daily usability, making it more streamlined for mainstream users who want longevity and smart convenience.

Verdict:
Choose the Vivo X200 Ultra if you need raw power, superior display, long battery life, and advanced photography features. Choose the Pixel 9 Pro XL if you value AI smarts, consistent software, better price-to-performance ratio, and long-term software support.

Nothing has just teased its next gen flagship smartphone. The anticipation behind the brand’s Nothing Phone (3) has been slowly growing, and the latest teaser basically confirms its upcoming release. So here’s what we know so far.

Nothing Phone (3) Teased: What we know so far?

At the start of this month, the company’s CEO and Founder, Carl Pei confirmed that the Nothing Phone (3) is getting a US launch. Earlier reports had also hinted at the new flagship phone launching sometime in July 2025. But now, an official tweet from the brand simply said “3,” which clearly hints at this device. Unfortunately, Nothing has yet revealed an official launch date or any other key details of the Phone (3) like its specs, features, design, or more.

Nothing Phone (3a) on the left and Nothing Phone (3a) Pro on the right

So, based on what we know so far, the Nothing Phone (3) is set to debut sometime in Q3 2025. It is the direct successor to the Phone (2) that launched back in 2023. The Nothing Phone (3) is expected to launch with the “breakthrough innovations in the user interface”. While there is not a lot of information regarding these smartphones, we can expect it to retain its iconic transparent body with the Glyph LED interface.

Nothing might also borrow some new element from the Phone (3a) Pro to bring the Essential Key button, an AMOLED display with a high refresh rate, and a telephoto shooter with its main and ultra wide angle lenses. Keep in mind that this is still just speculation at the moment, so stick around for more.

Galaxy S25 Edge confirmed to use Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 for “enhanced durability”

The Galaxy S25 Edge will lack the anti-reflective coating of the S25 Ultra, per a recent leak. This is because the S25 Edge does not use Gorilla Armor 2, which includes the coating. But what glass is Samsung using instead? Well, the company just confirmed its adoption of the latest Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 “for enhanced durability.” This new glass possibly lacks the anti-reflective coating.

According to Samsung, Corning has intrinsically embedded ceramic crystals within the glass matrix, which enhances drop resistance. Corning’s ion exchange process further improves the durability of Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2.

Apple recently ran an ad campaign for its Ceramic Shield on the iPhone 16, suggesting it can be used without a screen protector or a case. Now here we are: Samsung will also likely include ceramic in its marketing materials for the S25 Edge.

Galaxy-S25-Edge

As per a previous leak, the middle frame is also made of a titanium alloy, similar to the S25 Ultra, further hinting at the durability of this “razor-thin” device. In fact, Samsung is also including the word “titanium” in the color options. It’s clear that Samsung is positioning the S25 Edge as a slim yet durable flagship.

“With Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, we’ve achieved a remarkable combination of thinness and strength, giving consumers the best of both worlds — exceptional durability in a modern, sleek and premium design,” said Andrew Beck, Vice President and General Manager, Corning® Gorilla® Glass. “The craftsmanship of Galaxy S25 Edge with Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 underscores Corning and Samsung’s commitment to meeting the evolving needs of consumers worldwide.”

The phone is set to go official on May 13 at 9 AM Korean time, which is 5:30 AM in India. In the meantime, you can learn more about the rumored internal specifications here.

One UI 8 public beta for S25 Ultra could arrive as soon as next month

Samsung is readying One UI 8 for its Galaxy S25 Ultra, and the the first beta build (S938BXXU3ZYEA) has already been spotted on test servers by leaker Tarun Vats. Set for a mid-June 2025 public beta release, this Android 16-based update promises a smoother, refined experience, debuting on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 in July.

The Galaxy S25 series launched with One UI 7 (based on Android 15) in January 2025, which only started rolling out to the previous flagships a month ago. However, One UI 8 is already in the works, with a beta build for the S25 Ultra already spotted on Samsung’s servers.

One UI 8, which is reportedly built on One UI 7’s foundation, focuses on refinements like improving the animations even further.

The public beta, expected mid-June per Vats, will let S25 users test features like an updated Quick Share UI, enhanced DeX, and a more secure Secure Folder using Android’s private space API. Performance in this beta will hint at the stable release timeline, likely August or September 2025. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7, launching in July, will ship with One UI 8, a first for Samsung’s foldables.

Leaked screenshots show subtle UI tweaks, like transparent pop-up menus and new wallpaper colors, but some call it a minor “One UI 7.1” upgrade. With “One UI 8.5” already rumored for the S26 series, Samsung is definitely moving fast. Will One UI 8’s smoother animations and AI tweaks impress, or is it too incremental? Only time will tell.

OnePlus 13s Plus key: Here’s a list of multiple functions it supports

OnePlus is preparing to introduce its upcoming compact flagship in India, the OnePlus 13s. A recent teaser shared by the company has revealed a major new hardware feature called the “Plus Key.” This detail was confirmed through an official teaser and company statements, signalling a shift in the brand’s hardware control philosophy.

OnePlus 13s to debut new ‘Plus Key’ button

OnePlus 13s Plus key
OnePlus 13s Plus key

The OnePlus 13s will be the first smartphone from the brand to feature the all-new Plus Key. Positioned on the left side of the device—where the Alert Slider previously sat—the Plus Key is a fully customizable hardware button. This Plus Key is already available on the OnePlus 13T, which is exclusively available in the Chinese market.

When pressed, the Plus key can perform a wide range of functions such as:

  • Can switch between sound profiles (General, Silent, Do Not Disturb)
  • Allows quick access to the camera
  • Can be set to turn on the flashlight
  • Enables instant voice recording
  • Launches real-time AI translation tool
  • Supports one-tap screenshot capture
  • Set to perform no action

Unlike the fixed functionality of the Alert Slider, this button is designed to adapt to user preferences, acting as a dynamic shortcut tailored to daily usage habits.

The company claims this button is not just an alternative but a step forward, offering deeper integration with OnePlus AI. As AI becomes more central to OxygenOS, the Plus Key is expected to evolve into a contextual assistant that anticipates user needs based on behaviour and usage patterns.

OnePlus 13s key specifications

The OnePlus 13s is confirmed to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and a 6.32-inch display. It will be available in Black Velvet and Pink Satin colour options. The device is expected to share core hardware similarities with the China-exclusive OnePlus 13T.

It’s also anticipated to be priced lower than the OnePlus 13, which debuted at Rs 69,999. The launch date is yet to be announced, but the phone will be available through Amazon India, the OnePlus online store, and offline retailers. A recent report claimed that it will not be released in Europe and North America, meaning it will be an India-exclusive offering.

Galaxy S25 Edge skips a notable display feature of the S25 Ultra

Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge will feature a 5.8mm slim design and a 200MP camera—but it lacks at least one display feature of the Galaxy S25 Ultra: the anti-reflective coating. A separate anti-reflective film could be sold instead, according to the latest leak.

Galaxy-S25-Edge-side-view

No Corning Gorilla Armor 2 on the S25 Edge

The Edge skips the S25 Ultra’s Corning Gorilla Armor 2 and its signature anti-reflective coating. However, the back of the phone could still use Gorilla Glass Victus 2, just like the Ultra model. This anti-reflective display tech first appeared on the S24 Ultra as part of the Gorilla Armor protection. For S24 Ultra users considering a switch, outdoor visibility could feel like a step down—at least for the first few months.

That said, it may not be a deal breaker for those willing to apply a screen protector. Samsung is reportedly planning to offer an optional anti-reflective film for the Edge. Unfortunately, pricing details remain under wraps.

The Galaxy S25 Edge, set to debut in an online-only event on May 13th, boasts flagship specs: a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, 12GB of RAM, and a 6.7-inch QHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Its 200MP main and 12MP ultrawide cameras, along with a 12MP selfie lens, aren’t a huge downgrade from the S25 Ultra. The IP68 rating ensures protection from dust and water. At just 5.8mm, it’s Samsung’s thinnest Galaxy phone yet—beating the 8.2mm S25 Ultra.

Galaxy-S25-Edge-camera-module

Was the omission made to maintain the Edge’s razor-thin profile—or to cut costs? After all, the Edge is positioned below the S25 Ultra, and unlike the Ultra, its design likely required some research and development.. The phone is expected to launch at around $1,099 in the US and approximately €1,249 in Europe.

Will the film option be enough to satisfy users, or does skipping the coating dull the Edge’s appeal? The May 13 reveal should clarify.

The iQOO Neo 10 will be available in two colors – Inferno Red and Chrome Titanium. Though official pricing is yet to be confirmed, it’s expected to be priced around Rs 35,000 to 40,000. The Neo 10 is likely to compete with the upcoming Poco F7, which is also rumored to house the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chip.

Vivo X Fold 5 display, camera, processor, and battery details leak ahead of launch

Vivo’s X Fold 3 line of foldables launched in April 2024, so it’s about time we start hearing about a follow-up. As expected, the company is reportedly skipping the number four in the name as it is considered unlucky in China. So the next model will likely be called the X Fold 5.

A new leak from XpertPick appears to confirm the same and reveals the device’s full specifications well ahead of its official debut.

Vivo X Fold 5 specifications (rumored)

According to the leak, the X Fold 5 will feature a 6.53-inch LTPO OLED cover screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. The inner display is said to measure 8.03 inches and also uses AMOLED tech with a 120Hz refresh rate and 2K resolution.

Powering the device will reportedly be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the same chip powering the X Fold 3 Pro. It is paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

The rear camera setup is expected to include three 50MP sensors: a main Sony IMX921, an ultrawide with autofocus, and a Sony IMX882 telephoto with 3x optical zoom. For selfies, Vivo may include two 32MP cameras; one on the outer display and another inside.

Vivo X Fold 5 Specs leak

The battery could be one of the key differentiators. It’s said to be a 6000mAh cell, which would make it the largest battery in any foldable on the market so far. Despite that, the body is rumored to measure just 4.3mm when unfolded and 9.3mm when folded. Charging is expected to be 90W wired and 30W wireless.

Moreover, the leak says the device will have a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a three-stage Alert Slider, and several AI-driven tools. It will also have an official IP rating. For context, the previous X Fold 3 Pro came with an IPX4 rating.

Unfortunately, the report suggests Vivo might not launch a Pro variant this time around, meaning no direct successor to the X Fold 3 Pro.

Huawei’s upcoming PC chip, Kirin X90, leaks ahead of May 20 HarmonyOS laptop launch

Huawei officially unveiled its HarmonyOS for PCs yesterday and confirmed that its first device running the new OS will launch on May 20. Not to anyone’s surprise, the chip powering the device will not be an off-the-shelf silicon, either. Now, a fresh leak out of China has revealed some major details about the silicon.

According to DCS, the Kirin X90 is Huawei’s in-house desktop processor, and it’s internally codenamed “Charlotte Pro.” Interestingly, Huawei’s Kirin 9010 chip, which powers the Mate 70 smartphone, has a similar codename, “Charlotte.”

The implication is that Huawei might be developing the Kirin X90 based on the same CPU architecture as its mobile SoCs, with notable enhancements to scale it up for PC-level performance.

Huawei Kirin X90 chip specs leak

Kirin X90 Specifications (Expected)

The leak describes the Kirin X90 as a 10-core processor in a 4+4+2 configuration with support for 20 threads via simultaneous multithreading. It’s also said to support China’s national cryptography standards, SM3 and SM4.

Beyond the core and thread count, the leak does not reveal details about GPU specs, process node, or thermal performance. According to previous reports, the Kirin X90 might feature a 10-core graphics unit codenamed “Ma Liang 920”.

The chip is also expected to support up to 32GB of LPDDR5-6400 memory on a 128-bit bus, with 100GB/s of bandwidth. Storage-wise, it could handle up to 2TB of SSD space and come with three USB-4 ports.

This isn’t Huawei’s first attempt at carving out space in the PC market. But this is the first time Huawei has its in-house chip and OS for the desktop. The company is basically leaning hard into vertical integration. How well the silicon performs in comparison to its peers is still an open question.

Lenovo’s in-house CPU and GPU leak suggests big plans for custom silicon

Lenovo might be preparing to debut its first self-developed processor, at least according to a new leak from reliable tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo. The processor allegedly has model code SS1101 and was spotted inside a yet-unreleased tablet, the Yoga Pad Pro 14.5.

According to the leak, the chip uses a 10-core ARM architecture in a 2+2+3+3 configuration. It’s a bit surprising to see Lenovo going for a deca-core layout rather than a usual octa-core setup for its first chip.

The processor is said to clock up to 3.29GHz and includes a Mali G720 Immortalis GPU. The latter is a flagship graphics unit also used in the Dimensity 9300 with support for hardware-based ray tracing.

The chip is said to be made on a 5nm process node, though its unclear who’s manufacturing it.

Lenovo’s custom chip might support hyperthreading

There’s also some confusion around how the system is reporting core information. A user commenting on the leak noted that the chip “feels like it should still have 8 cores” but speculated it might be using hyperthreading just like Huawei’s in-house silicon

Digital Chat Station responded, “Well, the software recognizes that it has 10 cores, and it may also be hyperthreading,” suggesting that what appears to be 10 physical cores might actually include logical ones, depending on how the system reports them.

So far, Lenovo hasn’t made any official statement about the SS1101 or its plans for custom silicon. It’s not clear whether this chip is a one-off experiment or the beginning of a broader move to develop in-house processors. If the leak is accurate, the Yoga Pad Pro 14.5 could be the first testbed for a much bigger shift in Lenovo’s product roadmap.

Galaxy Tri-Fold could be Samsung’s first phone with a silicon-carbon battery

Samsung is teasing a tri-fold Galaxy phone, and a leak from @PandaFlashPro reveals its prototype packs a silicon-carbon battery. The South Korean giant reportedly aims to keep its tri-fold slim, and the new battery technology could help reduce thickness. The phone is rumored to launch in the second half of 2025.

Samsung’s tri-fold ambitions were hinted at during January’s Unpacked event, alongside XR headsets and AR glasses. If true, this leak about the silicon-carbon battery would mark a first for Samsung. A previous leak hinted at its adoption in the S26 series. Although the battery capacity is expected to remain similar—around 5,500mAh for the S26 Ultra—it could help reduce the phone’s weight and thickness. The same could be expected from the upcoming Galaxy tri-fold.

Unlike traditional Li-ion batteries with graphite anodes, silicon-carbon tech uses a silicon anode for higher energy density, enabling more power storage in less space.

The catch? The tri-fold’s battery is reportedly under 5,000mAh, prioritizing a thinner design over extended runtime. For context, Chinese smartphone makers such as vivo and Xiaomi are now offering 6,500 to 7,000mAh batteries, which is shifting expectations in both the smartphone and power bank markets. Samsung is reportedly focusing on the thickness of the Z Fold 7, and it seems to have a similar strategy for its tri-fold.

Silicon-carbon’s higher density could allow Samsung to shrink the battery while still matching the 4,400mAh capacity of the Z Fold 6. But since this leak is based on a prototype, the tri-fold’s final form—possibly launching in July 2025 alongside the Z Fold 7—remains uncertain. Will Samsung nail the balance of thinness, durability, and battery life, or is this tech still too early for prime time? With Huawei’s Mate XT tri-fold already on the market, Samsung will face stiff competition, at least in China.
