The Nothing Phone (1), the company’s first smartphone, is receiving its final update before it reaches the end of its update cycle. There’s nothing fancy about the update: just the July 2026 security patch and a couple of fixes. Nothing has delivered exactly what it promised the Phone (1) users four years ago.

In a post on the community forum, Nothing announced details about the latest software update and also confirmed that “Phone (1) is reaching the end of its software lifecycle.” Launched in July 2022 with Android 12, the smartphone received its final major Android update with Android 15, fulfilling the promise of three major Android upgrades.

With the latest update, the device completes its four years of security support, fulfilling the promise made at the launch event. That means the device is no longer eligible to receive any type of updates.

Nothing warns that the device may use more power and feel warmer during installation, which isn’t something to worry about. After every update, there’s a lot of background processing that happens behind the scenes, which can also drain the battery faster. But the device eventually returns to normal once the update is complete.

The 3 major Android updates and 4 years of security patches for the Nothing Phone (1) may sound underpromising by today’s standards, but back in the day, this was what the best mid-range Galaxy and Google Pixels were up to. With time, Nothing has also bumped up its update policy, now offering 5 major Android updates and 7 years of security updates for the Phone (3).

The number of replies on the community post suggests that many people are still holding onto the Nothing Phone (1) in 2026. Those do not need to worry just yet, as the device will continue to work fine. However, it won’t receive newer security patches. That means the phone won’t have patches against vulnerabilities discovered from here on.

You may want to take a moment to determine if it’s the right time to move on, especially given that newer models promise way longer software support.

Now, a new post on Weibo from reliable tipster Digital Chat Station appears to narrow down the launch window, giving us a clearer idea of when the innovative smartphone could finally reach buyers.

Responding to a social media comment asking whether Honor’s Robot Phone would be powerful enough, Digital Chat Station simply replied, “Soon, August,” hinting that the official debut is just weeks away. Honor has not confirmed the exact launch date, but the latest teaser aligns with the company’s earlier announcement that the Robot Phone would go on sale in China during the second half of 2026. If the timeline proves accurate, August could mark its first commercial unveiling.

Honor first showcased the Robot Phone during MWC 2026, where it attracted attention with a motorized camera arm integrated into the rear of the device. Instead of using a conventional camera module, the smartphone features a fold-out mechanism that can extend, rotate and stabilize itself while recording videos. Honor has also partnered with ARRI to bring professional filmmaking capabilities to the Robot Phone. The smartphone supports ARRI’s LogC technology at the RAW level and works with the company’s LUT ecosystem in DaVinci Resolve, allowing creators to achieve cinema-style colour grading. During the Shanghai International Film Festival, Honor even used the Robot Phone to capture professional cinematic footage, demonstrating the device’s video capabilities in a real-world production environment.

Beyond imaging, the Robot Phone also introduces AI-powered interactions that allow the motorized camera module to respond with physical gestures such as nodding or shaking while following subjects automatically during recording.

Xiaomi’s next major software release appears to be getting closer. Industry insiders suggest that HyperOS 4 could make its official debut as early as next month (August), bringing a redesigned interface, extensive under-the-hood changes and several AI-powered enhancements for compatible Xiaomi devices.

According to leaks from Chinese sources, HyperOS 4 has been rebuilt using the Rust programming language alongside the Flutter development framework for its core components. The update is said to remove legacy MIUI code completely, resulting in a cleaner system architecture.

According to DCS’s latest Weibo post, a new Redmi performance-focused smartphone is currently slated to debut around January. While he did not explicitly mention the device’s name, the details shared suggest that he could be referring to the Redmi Turbo 6 Max.

The device is expected to feature a 7-inch 2K flat display, a Dimensity 9-series chipset, and a 10,000mAh-class battery, making it one of the largest battery-equipped performance phones in its segment.

Now that Google has shipped the stable Android 17 to eligible Pixel devices, other Android brands won’t take long to start rolling it out to their devices. For Vivo phones, the Android 17 update will come with a new OriginOS 7 custom skin, offering additional features, visual refinements, and upgrades.

Unfortunately, many Vivo phones will miss out on this major upgrade. This includes many premium phones from the Vivo X series, iQOO’s flagship lineup, as well as a lot of mid-range phones from the V series, T series, Y series, and iQOO’s Z series.

iQOO Z11 Lite design revealed ahead of launch

Yesterday, iQOO India chief Nipun Maurya rolled out the first teaser of an upcoming Z-series phone. Today, he is back with a new X post to reveal that the upcoming device will be called the iQOO Z11 Lite. It also gives the first look at the rear design of the phone.

As can be seen above, the iQOO Z11 Lite has a vertical camera module along with a ring LED flash. While the company has not confirmed any details about the phone’s specifications, it is confirmed to be sold via Amazon, which is not a surprise considering all iQOO phones are sold through this platform.

In the recent past, two unannounced iQOO devices have emerged in the database of the Geekbench benchmarking platform. These include phones with model numbers I2510 and I2514. As per reports, these devices are expected to hit the Indian market with monikers iQOO Z11 Lite and Z11.

At present, there is no clarity about the launch timeframe of the Dimensity 7500-powered iQOO Z11. However, the iQOO Z11 Lite’s launch seems imminent as its teasers have already begun.

The Z11 Lite’s Geekbench listing revealed that it will arrive with a Dimensity 6300-series chipset. It is also expected to have 8GB of RAM, OriginOS 6-based Android 16, and 44W fast charging.

The IQOO Z11 Lite is expected to be priced lower then the Z11x, which debuted with a price tag of Rs 18,999. Therefore, it appears that the Lite variant’s base model could be priced at around Rs 15,000.

The Xiaomi 17T supports up to 67W wired charging, while the 17T Pro can handle up to 100W wired and even 50W wireless charging. Since Xiaomi already ships the essentials for wired duties, you should invest in one that offers wireless charging, especially if you have the Pro model.

We recently tested the Baseus Spacemate RD1 Pro, which combines a wireless charging pad on top with a full row of wired USB-C and USB-A ports underneath. It’s more of a desk setup than a pocket charger, but it means your 17T Pro can charge wirelessly while a laptop, earbuds case, or power bank charges over a cable at the same time, all from one outlet.

4. A Pair of Wireless Earbuds

Neither the 17T nor the 17T Pro has a headphone jack, which is now the standard across most phones. That means Bluetooth earbuds are basically a requirement rather than an optional extra.

Interestingly, some early buyers of the 17T series received gifts with their purchase, including Redmi Headphones Neo with the base 17T, and a Xiaomi Smart Band 10 fitness tracker bundled with the 17T Pro. If your unit came with either of these, you may already have a starting point. But if you didn’t get a bundle, or you simply want a nicer pair, it’s worth looking for earbuds that support the same audio codecs the phone offers. Xiaomi’s own Redmi Buds 8 Pro is one option worth a look — it offers 55dB ANC and Hi-Res Audio support.

5. Extra Cloud Storage

This next one isn’t a physical product, but it deserves a spot on this list. Neither the Xiaomi 17T nor the 17T Pro has a slot for a microSD card, so whatever storage size you bought is the storage you’re stuck with. The Pro model does offer a 1TB option in some markets, which gives plenty of breathing room, but it also costs a lot more. Meanwhile, the base models with 256GB can fill up fast if you take lots of photos or record videos.

Instead of hunting for accessories that promise external storage, it’s smarter to set up a cloud backup plan through Google Photos, Xiaomi Cloud, or another service you trust. This keeps your photos and videos safe even if something happens to the phone, and it frees up space without needing to delete anything permanently. Many services offer affordable monthly plans, and setting this up on day one saves you from a stressful scramble later when storage runs low.

Vivo is expected to unveil the Vivo X500 series of flagship phones in September this year. Therefore, with just a few months remaining before the launch, the X500 series models are expected to appear on different certification platforms. In a new development, two upcoming Vivo smartphones, believed to be next-generation flagship offerings, have received the radio certification in China.

The above image shows that new Vivo-branded smartphones carrying the model numbers V2606A and V2609A have emerged in China’s SRRC certification database. Both devices reportedly support the n79 5G band and are said to feature ultra-high refresh rate displays, suggesting they are positioned in the premium segment.

These devices are likely to be part of the upcoming Vivo X500 series or the iQOO 16 lineup. However, it is advisable to wait for further reports to confirm their final marketing names. With this early certification, it appears that these devices could go official in September in China.

The Vivo X500 series is expected to include multiple models, such as the X500e, X500, X500 Pro, X500 Pro Max, and X500 Ultra. Among these, the X500e and X500 Ultra may launch in the first half of 2026, while the remaining models could break cover in September.

The global version of the X500 Pro Max was recently spotted on Indonesia’s TKDN certification platform, suggesting that its global launch may not be far away. The other X500 models have not appeared on any global certification platforms yet.

On the other hand, while the global version of the iQOO 16 was previously spotted with the model number I2601 in the IMEI database, a recent report claimed that iQOO may skip the device’s India launch this year. It is still too early to speculate, and more concrete evidence should emerge in the coming weeks.

Honor was previously tipped to be working on its first wide foldable phone, powered by a 2nm-based Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6-series chipset. A follow-up report today spills more details about it, including the cameras and battery size.

According to Digital Chat Station (DCS), the engineering prototype still carries the same screen setup spotted earlier — a 7.6-inch inner display paired with a 5.5-inch outer screen. That’s a notably roomier cover screen than most current foldables offer, and it’s better for everyday tasks like texting, browsing, and watching short clips without needing to unfold the phone every time.

What’s changed since the last leak is the phone’s development stage. Instead of just being in testing, the foldable has now entered the final refinement process. On the camera front, DCS says Honor’s design team has locked in a 200MP main sensor along with a periscope telephoto lens for zoom shots. The wide foldable is also tipped to pack a 7000mAh battery, which DCS claims would make it the largest battery among flagship foldables in its class.

Honor is known for fitting a big battery into a slim form in its previous foldable — Magic V6, for instance — so the brand’s attempt to do the same with its first wide foldable is not even surprising.

With the device now in its final refinement stage, an official launch may not be too far off. Honor hasn’t confirmed a release window yet, but as more details trickle out, expect the picture to get clearer in the coming months.

Timex has released a new collaborative watch in the US, partnering with menswear retailer END. to launch the END. x Timex 1981 Reissue Inspired. The watch is a straightforward nod to vintage sporting aesthetics, specifically drawing from 1980s tennis designs, while maintaining a compact form factor that aligns with the current market shift toward smaller case sizes.

Design Details

Timex has opted for a 35mm case diameter with an 8.5mm case height. The case is constructed from brushed and polished stainless steel, featuring a softly octagonal bezel that frames the display.

The dial features an ice-blue sunray finish with a subtle globe etching across the background. It includes applied markers rather than printed numerals, alongside a standard handset and a date window positioned at the 3 o’clock mark.

The watch is paired with a matching 16mm stainless-steel bracelet equipped with a fold-over clasp. On the reverse side, the caseback includes a custom engraving featuring the END. logo and a tiger motif.

Internally, the watch operates on a standard quartz analog movement powered by an SR920SW battery. This is typical for watches in this price bracket, providing reliable timekeeping accuracy without the daily maintenance or higher manufacturing costs associated with mechanical movements.

The dial is protected by a mineral crystal. While mineral glass offers basic scratch resistance and clear visibility, it does lack the higher durability and scratch-proofing found in more expensive sapphire crystals.

For environmental durability, the 1981 Reissue is rated for 50 meters of water resistance. This rating makes the watch suitable for light swimming or exposure to rain, but it is explicitly not intended for snorkeling or poolside diving.

Belkin launches 10,000mAh 45W power bank with built-in USB-C cable & LED display

Belkin has introduced a new portable charger in China, the UltraCharge 10K 45W Power Bank (Model BPB035). It is currently available on JD.com for 269 yuan ($40). The device comes in Black, Blue, and Sand color options.

The power bank has a 10,000mAh capacity with a total energy rating of 36Wh, utilizing two 5,000mAh battery cells connected in series. It measures 111 x 57.8 x 24.7 mm and weighs 231 grams. The power bank comes with a built-in USB-C cable that is 293mm long. In addition to this cable, the device provides one standard USB-C port and one USB-A port, resulting in a 2C+1A configuration.

For output, both the built-in cable and the dedicated USB-C port can deliver up to 45W via USB Power Delivery (PD). This wattage is sufficient for charging smartphones, tablets, and some lightweight laptops.

It also includes Programmable Power Supply (PPS) support. The USB-A port provides a maximum of 18W. To recharge the power bank itself, users can input up to 30W through either the built-in cable or the USB-C port.

When charging multiple devices, the power output is distributed. Using both USB-C connections at the same time limits the combined output to 24W. If all three outputs are active, the total shared power is capped at 22.5W. The device also supports 15W pass-through charging, allowing the battery pack to recharge from a wall outlet while simultaneously supplying power to a connected device.

On the side of the chassis, a digital LED display shows the remaining battery life as an exact percentage. For thermal management, Belkin uses its Shield Pro dual-chip system, which includes NTC temperature sensors that monitor the device’s heat levels every 20 milliseconds to prevent overheating and overcharging.

The exterior housing is constructed from 75% post-consumer recycled plastic, and it ships in completely plastic-free packaging. The battery meets 3C certification and standard airline regulations for carry-on luggage.

QCY launches affordable Crossky C50i clip-on earbuds with Hi-Res audio, LDAC & 40h battery

QCY has launched the Crossky C50i open-ear wireless earbuds in China. These come with a clip-on design and are now available on JD.com for 169 yuan (~$25).

The C50i uses a clip-on design, a style that has become more common for people who want to listen to music or podcasts without blocking their ear canals. To keep the earbuds in place, QCY uses a flexible C-bridge mechanism built around a 0.5mm memory titanium wire.

The company says this wire has been tested for durability through 10,000 bending cycles. The earbuds are covered in a soft material to reduce pressure on the ear and feature an inner hook to prevent slipping during activities like running or cycling. They also have an IPX4 water-resistance rating, which is standard for handling sweat and light rain.

For audio, the earbuds are equipped with QCY’s SQ Ohm drivers, which use a composite diaphragm made from wool fibers and paper. The C50i includes a dedicated DSP audio module and software algorithms designed to boost low-frequency output.

The earbuds support LDAC, allowing for higher-quality audio streaming up to 990 kbps, and they carry a Hi-Res Audio Wireless certification. It also supports 360-degree spatial audio mode. To address sound leakage, a common issue with open-ear models, the C50i uses a 30-degree angled sound outlet and reverse sound-wave technology to keep audio directed at the user.

On the software side, the earbuds have four microphones for call noise reduction and wind suppression. The app includes extra tools like real-time translation for about 30 languages, meeting transcription, dual-device connectivity, and a low-latency gaming mode.

Battery life is rated at eight hours of playback in standard mode, with the 500 mAh charging case bringing the total to 40 hours. If you use LDAC, that battery life drops significantly to four hours per charge and 20 hours total. The earbuds charge via USB-C, with a 10-minute charge providing about an hour and a half of standard playback.

The QCY C50i comes in Sea Salt Blue, Bright Moon White, Peach Pink, and Mist Gray. The charging case has an iridescent finish that shifts color in different lighting.

Samsung is preparing for another round of RAM price hikes in Q3 2026

PC buyers and tech companies are still feeling the squeeze on component costs, and it looks like things might get tougher. Major memory suppliers are signaling another round of price increases, driven by massive AI demand and tight supply. Samsung appears to be leading the charge with some pretty significant DRAM hikes on the way.

According to supply chain reports, Samsung is currently negotiating with customers for an average DRAM price increase of up to 20% in Q3 2026. That’s on top of some huge jumps earlier this year: over 90% in Q1 and another 50% in Q2. SK Hynix is also joining the broader industry move to push prices higher on standard DRAM.

The main culprit is ongoing supply shortages. Suppliers are pouring resources into high-bandwidth memory (HBM) for AI data centers, leaving less capacity for the memory used in everyday consumer gadgets. Lenovo has even called this a “new normal,” warning that prices probably won’t drop back to pre-2025 levels anytime soon, possibly not until 2030. Apple has already started passing some of these higher chip costs on to customers through price adjustments on MacBooks and iPhones. Some manufacturers are going back to older platforms, like ramping up DDR4 production, just to keep costs under control.

At the same time, Samsung’s focus on high-margin AI memory is only getting stronger. The company is reportedly in discussions with Anthropic for a custom AI chip collaboration. These collaborations suggest the current pressure on consumer memory supply isn’t going away anytime soon. That only reinforces what TrendForce and Lenovo recently predicted, that we could be living with these elevated prices for years to come.

If you’re shopping for a new gaming laptop or flagship smartphone in the second half of 2026, expect to pay more. Higher RAM costs could also lead to weaker smartphone sales, possibly dropping by double digits as devices get less affordable. While AI server demand keeps booming, everyday users are the ones likely to feel the pinch at retail.

Affordable smartphones keep getting better when it comes to battery life. Vivo has quietly launched two new budget-to-mid-range models, the G5i and G5z, that focus on long-lasting battery, decent performance, and some nice customization options.

Both phones share the model number V2531A, look identical on the outside, and are now listed on Vivo’s official website in China. Pricing starts at 2,199 yuan for the 6GB + 128GB version, while the higher 8GB + 256GB model goes for 2,899 yuan. They seem aimed at people who want a reliable daily driver that they can also make their own.

The two models are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor, along with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of fast UFS 3.1 storage. That should be more than enough for everyday tasks, social media, and light gaming.

The real highlight is the large 7,200mAh battery with 44W fast charging. That’s a serious amount of juice, and combined with the efficient chipset, it should easily last through heavy use. They also come with strong IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance. The company is highlighting the longevity and durability of the devices with “6-year long-life battery” and “5-star drop and shock resistance certification” claims, a classic marketing approach for entry-level phones seen lately.

The display is a 6.75-inch LCD with HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The camera setup is basic: you get an 8MP front shooter and a 50MP main rear camera. Other useful extras include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, NFC, and an infrared blaster for controlling appliances.

LG xboom Stage 501 party speaker with AI Karaoke launches in the US at $499.99

LG has officially launched its xboom Stage 501 portable Bluetooth speaker in the US at $499.99. The speaker was first shown off at CES 2026 earlier this year, where LG teased it as part of a new wave of xboom portable Bluetooth speakers built for music lovers. Now it’s finally available to buy in the US market.

The biggest highlight of the Stage 501 is its AI Karaoke Master feature. This lets users strip vocals out of almost any song in real time and tweak the pitch, so basically any track can turn into a karaoke session without needing a special karaoke version of the song or a paid subscription. All of this can also be controlled through LG’s companion app.

On the sound side, will.i.am has personally tuned the speaker, and it uses premium acoustic parts made by Peerless. The Stage 501 can push out up to 220W of power if connected to a wall output, but it drops to 160W on battery. LG says the battery itself can last up to 25 hours, and it’s replaceable too.

The speaker also has a feature called AI Sound to adjust the output depending on what kind of content is playing, and Space Calibration Pro for tuning the sound based on the room or environment the speaker is placed in.

Design-wise, the speaker comes with dual-bar LED lighting, strobe effects, and accent lighting built into the control panel. It has a PA-style look built for performances, along with a dual-handle system for easy carrying. Users can set it up upright, flat, angled, or even mount it on a pole, depending on the space and situation.

As for how to buy it, you can get it from LG’s official website if you are in the US. Plus, there are also financing options available for those who don’t want to pay the full amount upfront. In this case, monthly payments start at $166.66 for a three-month, interest-free plan. Longer plans come with added interest, pushing the total cost slightly higher over six or twelve months.

Nothing Ear (3a) poses for pictures in new color options before launch

Nothing is set to introduce the Nothing Ear (3a) on July 7 — tomorrow — alongside the Phone (4b). Spoiling the fun for the brand, German publication WinFuture has released a set of images, showing the earbuds in all colors.

The overall design isn’t much different from what we are used to from Nothing. The in-ear buds are packed in a transparent case with a cradle that matches the color of the earbuds themselves. Speaking of which, Nothing is introducing a new pink option for the Ear (3a), while it will also be available in yellow, white, and black.

As for the specs, the Ear (3a) is said to house 12mm audio drivers that will support LDAC and Hi-Res Audio Wireless. The marketing material also reveals a feature called “audio snapshots.” New for Nothing earbuds, the feature could be an easy way to take quick voice memos.

It can be enabled by pressing the touch-sensitive area in the stem, but while on calls, it starts call recording. There is no word on whether the earbud supports active noise cancelling, but since they have an in-ear tip-style design, you can expect a decent level of noise cancellation nonetheless.

According to the report, the Ear (3a) could cost around €99 in Europe. A direct conversion means you could be spending close to $115 in the US, but Nothing usually decides the US price separately. We are expecting an MSRP of $99. That’s for Nothing to decide, and since the launch is just a few hours away, you won’t have to wait that long for full official details.

iQOO Z11 series phone officially teased, here’s what to expect

While iQOO has launched multiple Z11-series phones in China, the Indian market has only received a single device dubbed the iQOO Z11x. Now, the brand has officially started teasing a new Z11-series phone, and the first details may have already surfaced.

iQOO India CEO Nipun Marya has shared the above image, hinting at the arrival of a new smartphone. In all likelihood, he could be teasing the iQOO Z11.

iQOO is already offering the iQOO Z11 in markets like China and Malaysia. These variants come with different chipsets, with the Chinese variant featuring the Dimensity 8500 and the Malaysian edition powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4. However, both phones feature a 6.83-inch AMOLED 1.5K display and a 9,020mAh battery.

According to tipster Paras Guglani, the Indian version, which bears the model number I2514, will be different from the global (Malaysian) variant. Speaking of the I2514, the device recently appeared on Geekbench AI, revealing that it could be powered by the Dimensity 7500 chipset. The listing also revealed 12GB of RAM and Android 16.

The other specifications of the iQOO Z11 remain under wraps. In all likelihood, it will debut later this month in India. There’s also a possibility that it could be a rebranded or tweaked version of China’s Vivo S60e (also known as the S60 Vitality Edition), which also features the Dimensity 7500.
